Personally, I like beta to help the development. It is hard for me to reproduce one off bugs in live due to my phone never running into issues, and I have enough programming background to give them my device logs to help squash bugs a little quicker.

There is definitely a difference between areas with lots of clouds and the ones without. Isle heats up the phone like crazy, as well as parts of Prairie.

I think I recall tgc staff saying that the "light all" is unlikely to happen ages ago. Because it makes it less special/intimate of giving each friend a gift. Light all would be an easy out for my photo sensitivity though 🤔

i mean, #beta-faq explains it better but-
but basically there are these things called beta invites that happen usually after an access wipe, which wipes everyone's access to beta so more invites can be sent out to new players. access wipes usually happen around after current season ends in live, but we don't have an exact time. make sure you have the beta invites ping role to get pinged for the invites. just click the link they will send in #beta-signup-info and depending on if your on ios or android, you accept being a tester on google or open testflight and confirm being a tester or something.

Who else is kinda sad about tgc removing the lantern's ability to light candles? It was one of the main reasons I was considering purchasing it for live. I like the idea of not having to pull out my candle every ten seconds in order to light stuff up, and the lantern was going to make it easier for many candle runners.

Unlike the seasons where they can rely on much more purchases and that are more fundamental to the game this lantern is a unique once off item that may never be coming back. To make profit for things like how long it took to code, constant servers running, bug fixes and all the things we get for free in this game they still need to be making money from purchases. They currently even plan to add in 35 candles with the pack I believe which is even nicer of them and they could have easily not included.
Of course a final purchase decision is up to the buyer but remember they're doing their best and TGC has proven they look out for their community. They believe this price is fair for all the effort they have put into it and I really hope to see it be a success for them with lots of people buying it.

Lighting places is the technically the function of a lantern. Besides the removal of its ability to light candles shouldn't affect CR as the amount taken to light up candles is negligible and in most cases , server merge comes to the rescue. Also Also you have to toggle the lantern ON everytime you shift to a new place hence taking the same time to light candles via normal candle.

@late mountain well , you have to keep that every in purchase of the game that was expensive had a functional end such as the founders cape and the musicians packs or the fur cape packs. Rhey do have sense so its not a crazy rhing to expect function to an item that it was supposed to have functional purpose, thats why i guess they are going to put features because it is mandatory considering the price

I will say one positive thing about the lantern: it’s lighting is really good, much better than I expected. It really does light the room in a satisfying way
hopefully the prices decreases a bit for just lighting but also you don’t have to buy it. Just use the firework staff

As much as I love functionality when it comes down to it this game is about friendship and love. Once again looking out for the community they don't want people who can't buy the lantern to feel left out by seeing people with the lantern having an advantage and they don't want the lantern to introduce bugs that may impact both those who can and can't purchase it. It takes a lot of money to keep sky free to play and even more to keep constantly adding content like seasons and events which can all still be accessed for free with a majority of what they add. Buying things like the lantern is another way to support TGC and they've put a lot of effort into trying to create it to be a nice and lovely as possible without introducing a power imbalance or potential bugs into the game.

The only thing I can say is Kizuna AI in Sky was a partnership NetEase put together for the Chinese version of Sky that is completely separate from the Global version. Collaborations usually have legal restriction for various regions. I don't have any information about partnerships/collaborations TGC might do in the future. If and/or when something like that does happen, the information will be shared in #news just like any other official announcement.

The difference with capes is that they don’t block you from using a more useful item on your back. Like the campfire or an instrument
And if it actually makes lighting candles more of a chore, it’s worse than not using it at all

the spell acts as a trial mode for others to try out the lantern before deciding whether to purchase or not, I'd assume the spells are available during the event only
also it's probably a nice way to let players who can't afford experience it at a limited time

That's it, if it's available as a free item people might not even bother buying the Permanent Item and Just buy the spell every 3 days during the event especially when it only does is to provide a better sight in the dark.
Also, people might want to carry more useful/interactive item on thier back than to carry a Lantern.

The cut scene wasn’t like a big Phoenix bird it was a bright white bird that flies into a cave you get to this cave in a boat and it turned into a sky kid that gave you your cape might be on YouTube somewhere.
This cut scene went through many changes before the game went live in beta. Live intro is completely different now.
