We were sort of led to believe this was a bug in beta, if I remember correctly, so whyever it made it into Live is a mystery. It just takes away so much of the game experience.

wow, what a huge change to usability for so many players. Was this tested in beta? I don't remember noticing. For me, I play solo most of the time and I won't mind not having the stars all over the screen all the time, but for so many other players, this seems like the change might be more grief than what some unfortunate individuals might have experienced. I was trying to think of another player-driven solution however everything came up with a complexity issue in the software.

It was unintentionally tested. It was in beta for a while but we were under the assumption that it was a bug of some kind. It wasn’t confirmed intended until just a few hours ago.

@quick oriole this it’s a sign that the system of grinding, cosmetics and currency is working against the goals of the game. Ppl are so focused on features that are not even supposed to be parts of the actual game if they lose sight what the game is about.

design team chose not to beta test the healing pack.

just like any other bug, if the chat filter is being weird, submit a bug report. it's based on a complex system that is part algorithm and part black/whitelist. it does filter any sentence or word in a vacuum but in relation to the chat lines that came before it. when the filter doesn't know what to do with something sometimes it blocks it out of caution based on context (e.g. hoe) and sometimes it lets it pass because it doesn't have enough data to verify bad words are being used, it also can get wonky with unsupported languages (e.g. dutch and swedish)

if folks are getting overly hostile about the mushrooms, please poke a mod or myself to intervene and redirect the conversation. Even though it's a 3-day weekend for TGC, I'm typically on-call for emergencies.

I think private server would only be viable for TGC if you paid for it, e.g. to have a monthly subscription. I don't think it fits TGC philosophy to create divide between those who can and can't afford a paid service (on top of season pass and other cosmetics).

The cape you can purchase in the secret area is the founder's cape. The beta cape was a limited gift given to beta players prior to the game's launch and isn't available anymore. They both act the same though and grant access to ||the office!|| The founder's cape is just a cosmetic with candles, and has no relation to being a beta tester

Beta and live are separate apps, you have to be on the same app to play with others
People who beta tested the game before the game released (July 18, 2019) got the beta cape applied to their live accounts if they met the requirements (not all testers got it)

Hey all, been a wild day.

All the items in the updates post are currently active in beta within the recent 0.9.2 builds. Design team just reached out to me to ask for additional feedback so that's why some of it is coming so late.

The table change is so shades cannot put the table in front of portals or on top of shrines to block players. It's a potential fix to address the griefing issue without removing the collision from the table entirely since we know it's a popular out of bounds tool. It's not a perfect solution but was easy to implement to test the waters. I know this is tricky to test on beta since it's kind of a ghost town right now, which I'll also flag up to the team—our thriving android playerbase has probably mostly shifted to live, never to be seen again.

The locale matching is to explore matching people who speak the same language (I'm guessing this is derived from the default language on your device, will find out more tomorrow). This is in response to community requests.

The healing pack didn't have any new tech and the design team didn't encounter any issues during internal testing that warranted further testing on beta. Lo and behold we got some hefty surprises when it hit live.

While working remote, beta test cycles have definitely slowed down because they're a lot more tricky to push out at the rapid pace we did while in the office. We'll be looking into this situation in the near future.

I'll double check with the engineer, but my assumption is it'll be based on what language you're using in sky. for Android, there isn't a secondary setting, so it's just default language.

No idea if I can speak here, I’m not an official beta member. But I have noticed when you equip the Healing Pack’s flower, it places whatever you have on your back (instrument, etc) to float over your shoulder instead. Might be a feature, I am not sure. But if someone could let them know or tell me how I could let someone know? That would be wonderful
