A lot of people are going oob to get through in beta just because of how few players there are. I had to gather 8 friends and drag them with me to get the one sprit when I first joined beta 😱

The kind of engineering work to make multiperson doors soloable purely for beta isn't really feasible. It would require sacrificing fixing bugs or making content for the live game. I know those doors are annoying because the beta playerbase is dramatically smaller but it's just one of inconveniences that are part and parcel with beta testing :/

I noticed that while waiting for 4 player telekinesis door, server merging chances vastly decrease when the elevator is activated and there are people on the floor above.
I've gone home and loaded a fresh map and that usually merged me with other people trying to open that door.
But that's in live tho. Beta I rarely bother

Perhaps a system where it takes 2 minutes of telekinetic hocus pocus to open it, but with multiple players joining in, that gets shared and with 4 it’s reduced to 30 seconds. (But even more than 4 could join..! 15 sec with 8!)

That would be a super nice work around. I've noticed lately too in live that sometimes the 8 person elevator goes up after some time (even when there aren't enough people actively lighting the dials) , probably a merge but super appreciated.

There’s only scraps to be found for the rest tho.. 9 motes of light for the telekinesis door, 6 motes for the second level door... 
Increasing the rewards while implementing a system like the 8 player elevator has (candles appear AFTER mechanism is activated) would eliminate glitching and incentivize players to open it (instead of glitch or skip entirely)

Re the capes: yes it’s a shame they were never brought back. They were the best for me. They felt alive and in tune with the rest of what at the time, was the game. Optimization to cater for the hassles of Android compromised lots of beautiful work in the pre-0.4.6 game. I’m wondering whether switch places any such restrictions on the game. Having played with a switch a little now it looks like it would cope very nicely.

Ktjn, it’s upsetting how you keep misinterpreting my comments and twisting my meaning. Android and the hardware it runs on forced a compromise. My comment was on the hardware and OS only. I have no problem with the people that use them. I wish that the Android platform was better but as you know, it just isn’t. It certainly offers a lot of people opportunities to customize, etc that they may not enjoy on iOS however this comes at a price. It’s a bit of ying and yang where what is good for the gander is not always good for the goose. Not everything I write is an attack. The opposite really. 😰

Non-pass holders will be able to get up to 5 seasonal candles each day. (4 from quests + 1 from seasonal wax bunches)
Also you don’t seem to have the child of light role needed to access the rest of the server. You’ll need to go to #rules and tap the candle reaction

Ktjn, I must say you often appear to interpret some of the things we say on the overly negative way.
I did not see people looking down on Android users. However, I did see people express frustration at new players not knowing what to do in certain places. This could instead be interpreted as a reason to look into if the game instructions are unclear for new players, rather than assume we all hate moths. (I'm saying this also as someone who hangs out in the Questions channel a lot and see the confusion in many new players' game experience.)
Android in general seems to carry a lot of frustration and disappointment for many, as different models cope more or less well with the game.

@crystal coral I just looked at a price chart for the beta season. The items have been moved around, and there’s a slight chance the prices could change but I think it’ll be close. According to the price chart for the beta season you’ll need 292 seasonal candles to buy all of the non-pass nodes. At 5 candles a day it becomes 59 days of playing without a pass to get all the non-pass nodes

No matter how long the season is they price it so people who start playing from the beginning can easily get all the nodes they have access to if they’re pretty active. You won’t need to play every single day, though it wouldn’t be a good idea to skip a few weeks worth of quests if you’re aiming to buy everything you can

if you are seeing a wax, then it means someone else have started it and doing the quest right now
If you see an orb but no figure of a spirit, it means someone in the same instance completed it (think it's a bug, it wasn't like that before).
In a fresh new instance, you can see spirits crouching at the start of their memories

Whilst I can see that getting the ?5? Spirits is much easier now (thank goodness on the small ship) there a heaps of visual glitches with them. And with at least 3 after finishing the quest running past the start point would trigger it again. The cave maze challenge has been made a bit too easy now and the black orb bug is still there after completing it (in the old completion position).
I’m really looking forward to seeing the finalization of this season. Having only seen the first 3 or 4 parts in beta I’m quite curious to see where it goes. There are a lot of really valid questions above and a fair amount of confusion about how it works.
I’ve got all 6 emotes now. I don’t know how though because I’m sure I only did 5 quests.
Someone (brown cape full wedges) approached me on the ark also like they knew me. I’ve only a handful of friends and there was no name on the player so it was really weird. They even tried chat with me when I clearly didn’t have that ability. Odd

Hi beta players, I'm just curious to know what the original intent was for the races. Like were the amount of lights you collected during the race originally gonna reward candle bits rather than it just gifting everyone a candle at the end?

yes, way back in earlier beta it was an actual race between two teams
a little later, when the race aspect was gone, the number of sparks you collected were also displayed on a board when you arrived at the stadium

Last opening on iOS was in December, prior to that was August.
Last opening on android was in March, prior to that was November and September.
This is not any indication of a schedule or pattern, do not try to speculate or predict when the next opening will be because even we at TGC do not know when we will open up up yet.

I don't believe there's any plans to cut support for any devices. I know the engineers were updating some things on the back end on beta and getting some weird errors so it may be related. I'll poke around in the morning and see what's up.

Having collected the spirits on Monday night, and done the red light thing, I'm left wondering, if I don't want or need to grind, what is there to do? Given that I'm not "stuff" motivated, it just seems like a huge gap between events where I, and presumably others, will feel unmotivated to play which I didn't think was the aim.
For sure, this season obviously has some massive work behind it, and there's a need to encourage people to spend time/money collecting, so spacing it out might help, but I wonder if some portion of the new Android players are going to be left wondering what they are suppose to be doing when there's nothing new for another week. Like the quests are very easy now (which is nice for new players), so from perusing here, it seems that many new players seem to zoom through the entire experience to collect very very quickly and are left hanging a bit.

I was trapped in the Garden of Eden. After death, I needed to hold hands and hug with a child, but clicked on the emoji icon that the child did n’t hug. I tried to restart but it did n’t work. Now I ca n’t go anywhere. I can only stay with the child Turi, can someone help me?

I am in the same state.I can't proceed because I can't hug with the last child of Eye of Eden.The hug icon has disappeared.
It has already been reported as a bug in both iOS and Android versions.
I tried rebooting twice, but it didn't work.
Perhaps we have to wait for a fix.

@blazing sail you could avoid it till 1 or 2 builds ago , by moving to the left of the screen till you got free of the falling and then just continue your flight. Now you can still fly away but as soon as you hit the ground , you will see the drop black screen and return to the beginning again

I truly don't understand why we need to face plant, why the forced cut scene when we can clearly fly almost all the way to the entrance to the krill area without touching ground?

Oddly, since the last update to wasteland in both beta and live I don’t faceplant any more.
Differences:
- my skykids takes an upward turn right before landing and it makes me fly between the megaliths.
- when I do touch down too early, I am still teleported back but I land on my back, face up, instead of face down

It’s funny , but I’ve asked a friend to get online to see if i could do a work around or something , so we entered eden again and i was able to get the first light kid in the building. Ive received a cape again after collecting the light only my friend couldn’t see the cape , i did

also yellow light is a regular light ball quest not a seasonal light. but it's not a quest today (today's quests were give a gift to a friend, meditate at vaults summit, forge a candle, and relive telekenisis spirit) o.o whenever there is a "catch the light" quest it is usually located in the first area of whatever level the quest giver stands in front of.
