FAQ for Old Testers: What should I do with Sky Beta (Old Open version)
iOS and iPadOS Users: The App expires in 90 days (or 79 days as of counting). The app won’t launch after that date.
Android: You won’t able to update the app anyways.
Steam: You can’t launch the app because it requires Steam Account which requires Game Data Verification.

TL;DR: You should uninstall it to free up some space

Yes they'll probably direct folks on how to redeem their place if they're selected, but testflight is fairly straight forward. You will receive whatever code or link to access the beta programme via email, you'll visit the testflight app and input this information, then you'll be able to access the programme, see all relevant information for new builds and such and updates appear pretty clearly

Plenty of people were and are upset and that's understandable. The loss of progress was always a risk that was part of the agreement but people played for so long that they got too invested, and some people even used it to play continuously instead of live because of the early content and free IAPs. Beta should have been reset much sooner.

I totally agree, especially because let’s say none of it was leaked to the public, (most likely always will be someway shape or form) Those people always got early access. While that’s a complaint from me, i also think it was easier for ANY local sky player to be prepared for upcoming events, it’s hard enough just to save candles, now not knowing the price of a TS group, Event, or upcoming seasons will be pretty difficult 😣 As some people may be unlocking their constellation, not realizing there’s an event coming.

Beta never had prices for upcoming TSs or groups. New Event stuff is either IAP o rtickets and IAP prices aren't shown in beta. And seasons always have enough SC to complete them. The only thing where beta may have given a price is on things like the cape at the top of the radiance tree

Adding this reminder here since I have heard so much people taking the NDA too lightly:

NDA:s are legally binding contracts. If you break it's rules and leak beta content, you get in actual legal problems.
But this is not to scare people away from beta testing, just remember to not play around with laws and rules.
If you don't leak anything nor break the rules you're given, you're fine. It's easy to keep away from spreading information you're not allowed to. Many work places and other game companies beta testers are required you to write NDA:s too.

yeah, i came into this accepting that there was a possibility beta would wipe or currencies would be changed, but i saw a lot of people treat beta more like it was an early version of live and were genuinely upset that their progress would be wiped. i think it was one thing to be attached to the skykid you play as, but another to be upset over beta being beta. it surprised me how much time it took for there to be a wipe

I've signed an NDA with TGC. It's a company, sure, but not an evil one, and the people there are nice normal people. NDA isn't an inherently scary thing, it's just like a promise not to share secrets. But anyone nervous about sharing information with TGC has every right not to apply for beta access!

Usually signing any kind of contract doesn't require ID. Only some contracts require a notary to witness, but not NDA. I can't tell you excatly what the NDA looks like because THAT'S SECRET! Just kidding, it's because I signed one with TGC years ago and haven't thought of it since. I've signed NDA with lots of different companies and it's never been a big deal.

sending the application is in no way binding. if they send you an NDA and you don't want to sign it, don't. If you sign it and then you decide you don't trust yourself to stick to the terms, just inform them you don't want to keep access, or even just delete the app and forget it.

If you're afraid of legal trouble but want to participate anyway, the best thing you can do if you get in is once you install the beta app, participate in every update you have time for and give the devs your thoughts and bug reports, and you can then choose to leave on your own terms. No. Not at the first wave. I play on android. And I think I have to wait long long time. If they ever add other devices. But honestly. I think they should add some players from every device, because bugs can appear on android while in ios is all good. They should add for each device beta testers not only ios. That what I think. And that's makes more sense to test the game properly! Otherwise there will be more bugs in future. But we don't know what's they are thinking really.
