just because you never thought about them doesn’t mean they can’t be influential and very hurtful. Especially to younger kids, who are so easily moulded and shaped by what they see on the internet and around them. Kids learn through experience and so seeing things like comments encouraging harmful behaviour can have a genuine effect on them.

Honestly I also kind of don't like even the following a content creator thing on memories and boats... It makes me uneasy to see my followers number go up and not know who it is. I know a lot could be friends but some might not be. Even more concerning that now someone who might be malicious can follow you AND comment whatever they want. 🥲

To me boats were a way to vent what I wanted to say. I didn't have to have anyone put their two cents in when I'm trying to talk to a void. Sometimes friends would check in on me, but most knew my boats are just there to not be talked about. Silent sending love with likes was fine for me.

I wonder if there's a way we can block a person who comments on something that is anonymous - if they keep comments feature and don't let us turn off comments ourselves maybe they can add an extra feature alongside hide and report that enables us to block someone and they'll automatically not be able to see or comment on any future content. That would give us some power to block malicious or inappropriate things, it would still be after the fact, and I'm of the opinion prevention is better. But alas.

Sky's approach to malice was unique in that it did not use direct means of filtering or banning it, which I think created a Sky-like quality. I understand that as the number of players grows, that approach alone will not prevent malicious intent, and I question whether we need to go to the trouble of creating tools that make it easier to direct malicious intent.

Unfortunately one super negative experience with comments has made me stay with my opinion, but especially with the concerns that Boat brought up, there’s nothing but concerns I have with comments.

There’s things I’ve seen people test out with comments to get past the filter and it worries me. 😔

I just don’t think it’s a good thing at all, it shouldn’t even be in the game, and mostly for reasons already brought up. (I won’t repeat this since it’s already been brought up, but I’ve also feedbacked, I’m sending another feedback in a sec.)

At this stage I don't see comments being removed entirely, but I'm happy to settle for players having more control on who can comment/turning them off if they want to. The direction which comments will take Sky in is something I feel like they want to explore more of - it feels like it relates a lot with the global chat during encore, and the whole community hub thing they're wanting to create with aviary. That plus the troupe creator stuff, they wanna create more space and platforms within Sky to further user generated content and adding features to react/comment on share spells is the next logical step I guess.

It just feels to me like it goes against what we've heard the communication aspect of Sky is about for years.

And I have to comfort myself with knowing that a lot of the things I've seen in comments are things that are being put in order to simulate the sorts of things that will be unironically said if this feature goes to live -- I shudder at the thought of these things being said unironically. I've made sure to only test the seriously-bad messages on boats that my friends put for me with a content warning attached, but even some of the tame messages that I've put around to simulate the negative comments I see on a daily basis just... make me feel weird about myself. I wonder what any people who aren't in the loop on beta testing and beta updates might think of me and why I'm putting messages like "cringe" and "rip" and "stinky fart lol" under things.

I've really struggled to comment anything remotely negative - it's such a difficult thing to test because being mean or rude or inappropriate even just to test the filters is uncomfortable and I don't want to say things like that to friends.

I will also say that even tightening up the filters to catch inappropriate things is all well and good, but you can be mean without being inappropriate and that's something that can still hurt people. I worry about that most, a kid sharing something and comments that could just be "this sucks" or other things similar can still do plenty damage to that person's feelings.

The awful comment I got was unwarranted and they didn’t have permission to say such a thing, and it’s really hurt me. If something like that can be said to anyone on live, I just fear for the worst.

It's hard for me to imagine myself doing it, but I also know that even on a discord server that's only half-a-million, much less the 1 mil+ that Sky has, and we still get a lot of inappropriate comments on a daily basis -- some that slip through, and even more that don't. But even on a smaller scale, with less anonymity and more obvious and active enforcement, people still love to be jerks.

As much as I use sky as an escape from all that toxic cliquey rumor-mill stuff that circulates anywhere with popularity circles, I have first hand experience as a victim of the same thing in sky. It stopped once I took a year and a half break, but at the end of the day, even though sky has a lower ratio of jerky people than most spaces and communities, they do exist.

And it only takes one negative comment to hurt someone's feelings or self esteem, especially for the younger players or anyone who's already not feeling well or great about themselves

I also don't necessarily think it's about having a lower ratio (it could be), but the fact that chat is limited and a mutual consensual thing, we can mute, we can leave a table etc. that gives us the chance to avoid situations that become toxic. But comments we can't turn off and anybody can post on can leave room for lots of toxic interactions to build up quickly.

And like... the way I've seen a lot of these situations go is that someone's friend group has a falling-out in one way or another and then one person wants revenge and so they go haywire. In cases like these it can already be hard enough to get these people to leave you alone, but it's hard to imagine the chaos that could ensue from them being able to run around commenting on everyone's boat messages.

I'm not sure if it's been changed at all, but when we remove a comment it still appears for others? Is that still a thing? Cause in that case if we tried to take steps to remove negativity but others can still see it that is also troublesome. It can cause others harm and escalate the situation on our end because more people can come leave comments in relation to the one that we hid.

Starting with v0.23.0, you can complete daily quests for meditation and boat quests for revival even if you have online chat disabled on your iOS device. We feel that the messages is slowly making progress in accommodating those who do not prefer them. Feedback on how you feel they are unnecessary is not wasted.

I have the same problem. The game has like 15 or less Fps looking laggy. Entire game, all the areas. This didn't happened for while, and especially not during feast event before.

The glitches aren't as hardcore for me as some shared on Beta bugs report. But there's slight sign of it if I fly pretty fast.

as long as your account was linked on the android device, it will transfer once you get a spot on ios

There's a medidation near the left entrance of the aviary, if that makes you still go back to the aviary, try to go to the ends of vault where you are in between vault end and entrance of eden, there's a entrance of old home there and you can go back there safely.

Honestly I'm really enjoying feast all round so far, the races are interesting and add something new to enjoy. The cosmetics are all incredible, designs are flawless. It's more of like we don't know if it will. It could come to live SOME day. But don't hold your breath waiting for it or you might turn blue in the face.

Last statement we got from a dev basically said maybe but there isn't a planned date. Here it is:

You all are reading into the invisible cape entirely too much.
There is NO planned date for this item to be released to the Live game at this time. We understand that this is a long-anticipated, highly desirable item, but we are not ready to introduce it to the Live game yet.
To help clear confusion, I'll be deleting and or unpinning old messages about the cape.

Again though there has been no recent indicator that it would come soon. We've been in "maybe some day" and "we aren't ready to introduce it to live yet" limbo for years with this and past statements.

Personally I always hold out hope on that "not ready yet" but again there is no planned date. it could come in 2027 (years from now when we are all sky fossils) or it could come never. But the whole emphasis I'm trying to make is there hasn't been a hard "it's never coming" as of recent.

Hmmm….. So it seems like Mobile Beta and Mobile Live’s Ground plants spots are the same between each other, same as PC Beta and PC Live

I think the races were more fun when the checkpoints didn’t fully charge you. it was about speed, precision and conserving your energy for where it has the most impact, now it’s just flying as fast as you can from checkpoint to checkpoint.

I'm a little behind on the season quests in beta, but am really confused on why the 4th quest is to go to eden? None of the realms have opened in aviary for me. If this is going to be the intro for new players why are the realms not opened first? How are they even going to have light to go to eden?

Afaik, the steward will point to isle of dawn realm if you are a brand new player! On the other hand, if you have done all the realms, then you will see steward pointing towards eden instead.

Hmm, so I've been thinking about the price increase for the Yeti Goggles.

It used to be 50 candles, and now it's 60 candles presumably because of the filter that got added, but I still feel like it should've stayed 50 candles.

Feast is very candle heavy already, and the yeti goggles may look silly but they're an absolute gem when it comes to battling the (extreme) bloom we face nowadays

(I don't know why they increased in price though, I'm only assuming. I can't remember a time where the IGC cosmetics got increased in price after a year?)

With TS groups, Performer coming up, the candle heavy Mischief and Feast being generally so expensive IGC-wise, I wish it stayed the same price. It's 'just 10 candles' but thats quite a lot still

Yeah that's really bad. It should have been a feature in settings in the first place, not something that is locked behind an item that's only available to purchase a few weeks a year. If anything they should have made it cheaper so more players can afford the mask
