Yes, if you bound your account to the available options, you can just log back in. However, for PC beta you would need to bind that account to Steam first

Sure, it's not like, new new or like, the best on the market but it's still pretty good. Especially since the minimum GPU needed is a 1030. Compare the two and a 1060 is a heck lot better than what's needed

It's not bad, but the fact that you need a 1060 to run Sky just proves that the game's port won't be optimized

You need a minimun of a 1030 tho? You don't need a 1060 to run Sky. Just have something that isn't worse than a 1030

And it's worth remembering that Sky is a game with almost minimalist graphics and that it doesn't have many graphical aspects,just having handmade lighting, no dynamic shadows and a small, limited world.

a 1030 is very weak if you consider the level of the pc, an integrated AMD graphics card for example can run well (I saw someone with an integrated Intel video card running fine)

It runs bad because it's not properly optimized and the code to interprete the graphics is build for ios graphics api and poorly ported to the android version

Unless someone shows me actual proof of sky being demanding in gpu and not badly optimized for Android I won't change my mind about the bad port we got for Android

Do some kind of controllers work with beta android sky? I love the game, but I hate playing it on my phone. Ive been meaning to catch up and get all the wl, maps, and spirits, but I just don't like playing with my hands feeling awkward. I much prefer controllers and was wondering if you guys had any suggestions

I've looked into Bluetooth controllers but I've heard it's really a toss up if it would work or not. Some work with some phones, others don't, some only partially work, etc

my friend has had a very stable
experience with using a dualshock controller on beta, so you might want to look into that
however, I've heard there were some issues with playing beta on ns pro controller. you can try it out if you have one, but no guarantees

I only ever play android live/beta with a dualshock 4 controller and it works perfectly for me (besides small issues like bringing up the chat log and dailies with buttons, it just doesn't work but it's manageable), but I know they can be expensive so I would definitely recommend researching options if you don't have the funds for it

There's a controller someone here recommended me called the Gulikit King Kong Pro and it's just like the Switch controller except the A button is used to cancel things and B button is used to confirm things. It will be confusing to adjust to but it's a really good controller, however it can be a headache to set it up kinda. It has multiple modes but can act like a Pro Controller for Switch as well.

Hello! I play sky on android but it's a tablet. I do play the game with controllers. Im using PS3 & PS4 wireless controllers. The downside is, the keys to open chat log, zoom in & out, and to show quest dont work. But the rest are great.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how do you connect the controller to the phone/ tablet?
I've tried Bluetooth with ps4 and switch-compatible controllers but my device never sees them.
I've researched plug-in adapters to actually plug the controller into my android phone but they seem to be very unreliable.
As a Switch player in live, adjusting to mobile controls for beta is really challenging! And if there's any way on earth to play with a controller instead that would be such a relief. I could just enjoy playing beta instead of wanting to throw my phone into a volcano out of frustration!

Don't feel sorry. It's alright You can connect it by hold the "share" button together with "P" button at the same time for i think 10 seconds or so. You will notice the blinking will be different. Then once that happens, you can then on connect it to your device.

If you have switch joy cons you hold the sync button and they should show in the Bluetooth settings, if you hold sync for left it’ll show “switch joy con (L)” and then you pair it, and then the same for the right

Yeah!! Not just for sky too, but any game that’s compatible with controllers :) if you have an iPhone, look on the App Store for if the game says it supports controller on the description :) !

Edit: if you don’t like the controls, you can remap them on the iPhone controller settings somewhere

Oh. Sky does happen like thatfor android. For the controller keys to function, restart the game. I usually connect controllers first on my device before launching the game.

Edit: With ps3 controllers tho, sometimes, no need to restart the game for the keys to function. But not always.

On the subject of possible controllers to use for mobile: I'm personally using a Mytrix Wireless Pro RGB Controller. It works just about the same as others apparently, will connect to Sky (Beta & Live) app just fine once you sync to your device, but it has to be on before you open Sky for it to actually recognize the controller. D-pad for zoom/chat/quest review not working though (my surprise seeing this also happens with other controllers mentioned... I was kind of hoping the mobile controller experience would mirror how Switch handheld works, but seems not to be the case).

Main reason I got it was for price point... and I also had no luck getting my JoyCon/Pro controller to actually connect and recognize, too.

Idk. TS's aren't always priority to fix for TGC, but I guess the Ts issue is connected to the upcoming update. Maybe it fixes some issues or changes some system and it's missing. Checking back on version histories and releases, Passage was released for Live 13th April, but the last build prior to that in beta was 4th April. The update patch for Live was then released 13th May, but during the meantime we mostly tested Days of Colour which was included in a beta patch on 21st April

To those who have the rainbow scarf ultimate I have a couple questions:

1.) Can you see the rainbow trail when you fly? And not just at the start of a flap before it fades to the regular trail?

2.) Can others see your rainbow trail?

Through testing with a friend I could not see the rainbow trail from a friend who has the ultimate rainbow scarf however I could see the color at the start of a flap, but then it just changes to the regular flying trails. I just need some others to report this, I'm about to send a bug report regarding it.

You can’t copyright a leitmotif like that. I think the reason Adam Gubman chose not to use the theme was to differentiate himself from Vincent, and bring a new interpretation of Sky’s music

Huh.. so I was thinking of the capes of this season referencing old seasons... and the colors being connected with the ultimate cape, it definitely is connected to these old seasons but I had this theory that the Ultimate cape doesn't reference only these seasons but the ports themselves and their first season they got.

Purple (Enchantment)- Android ported
Blue (Shattering)- Switch ported
Yellow (AURORA)- Playstation ported (aditionaly the Wedge icons being aurora wings)

you can notice that the place is still not done because the new song has some "out of tune" notes, to remind us that while everything is peacefu, not everyhting is still done and there's still stuff to rebuild and problems to fix

I remember disliking the new flying system when it was introduced. It also took some time to get used to the chevrons. Some aspects of the game felt more emotionally engaging than they do now. But the whole world is a lot bigger now and things like seasons are more equal for all players

if bugs aren't getting fixed or they're getting worse you should follow up with further bug reports - chances are some bugs are more complex and may take time to fix up, but if things have been getting worse over each build then they warrant follow up reports. It may also be a case of device specific issues, did your specs line up with what they requested on the original sign up form?

I think honestly if you saw light awaits as part of sky now it would feel outdated, it's nice looking back on the old stuff for sure and there's probably some aspects I'd love to see return that aviary hasn't fulfilled yet, but the way technology has advanced and tgc's designs and models have developed a lot of the LA stuff would just not fit so well at least not without a massive upgrade. I think that's what we're seeing with Aviary currently, it's a much more upgraded area than LA Aviary and it fits well with the lore of Sky as a revival season imo

Well when im playing on pc I get constant framedrops out of nowhere that didn't use to happen in previous builds and now I can't play on full screen mode for more than 3 minutes because when I try to leave the game or just leave the full screen mode my windows gets frozen
And im unable to do anything more than force my pc to turn off

well i watched a lot of footage of light awaits and it looks 100 times better than the sky we got now, lighting, everything mostly properly filled with clouds, lighting, models, capes, spirits, textures, lighting, some parts of the ui, maps, areas are more detailed and bigger, all so much better than sky now (and less empty because isle is emptier than my bank account)

There were extreme lag-spikes, crashes happening all the time, the game was very unstable, all UI was not-so-good.

Afaik taking pictures was okay, and showed better graphics but the regular gameplay improved such a great deal. Snippets people show online often don’t capture the full game experience.

Just wanted to chime quickly. I played during the beta of Light Awaits, and nowadays I think it was mainly conscious economic decisions that TGC made, in terms of why they moved away from some of it and won’t come back

• Removing the older regular capes being patterned and detailed (which I liked) — if the regular capes are plain and boring, it makes it more likely that people will spend money on season passes for more glamorous capes

• Removing the Aviary being the main home base — from what I heard from other beta players of TGC, new people were staying there too long and not progressing onto other areas. No progress = no money for TGC. That’s why the current Home base has the portals closer.

  (If this wasn’t the case, we would likely have the chance to make the new Aviary village our home)

• Emphasis on more grind = more chance that people will spend money to skip it

Also in regards to them removing aviary because people spent too much time there so not enough progression = not enough money, I really don't think that was the main factor at all. It was likely because imagine you create a whole world and players stick to one singular area, you'd want them to move along to the rest of the world and not just stay in one place, not for money but to actually explore the rest of the game. In any case though, I don't know if tgc ever actually stated their reason for removing aviary during LA, so I don't know if some of the old tester claims of it being cause folks spent all their time there is a legitimate reason or an assumption.

But I can vouch for the fact that the pre-release beta and Light Awaits version of the lighting/clouds/UI/graphics/level and area sizes and all of that were not NEARLY as good as the launch and present day version of Sky.

The UI was so confusing. When they first introduced spirit trees (which wasn’t til the Winter season, late 2018 or early 2019), the paths to unlock nodes were spread out all over the place and most of us couldn’t understand what was supposed to lead to what. For a while you got hearts by unlocking friend interactions (but had hardly anything to use them for), and below your friend’s name as you played with them, it would show how many hearts you had with that person—10, 15, 20 hearts stretching across your phone screen. Scenery like grass and flowers were only gradually updated, and have only gotten more beautiful with every update. Also, those fancy intricate capes? For AGES beta players wished we could have plain colored capes because as the cape design automatically grew to become more intricate (kind of like how the Journey capes do for each run through in that game), it would change the cape color so that it was no longer really orange or yellow or purple.

Areas were absolutely NOT more detailed and bigger By the time the game launched, for example, Forest only had the main path straight through the woods, and then Grandma’s area (except there was no Grandma)—no caves, no treehouse, no Days of Sunlight stuff. Vault had just the elevator tower—no Archives or Starlight Desert or Remembrance area. There was no Forgotten Ark, no Dreams Village, Yeti Slope, Prophecy or Belonging caves, Trials, Sanctuary Islands or sea turtle trench, and probably at least a few other areas that I’m forgetting. The LA map was a fraction of what Sky is today.

And don’t get me started on how awful it was when old Eden made us lose emotes and emote upgrades. The pain from that still burns

But, all that said—

The sky kid voices from old beta were amazing and wonderful and better than the released version and I will die on this hill 😌

Personally? I wasn’t one of the players/testers who was super bummed when the old Aviary was removed, and even then I’ve been pretty stoked to see it brought back in a really cool way. (Edit: part of me wishes we could have a version of those old detailed capes again, but I suppose the processing load is still an issue!)

uh there was a part of forest bridges where if you flew from the entrance toward the winglight thats in the building up high on the left it switched from blue tinted light to yellow tinted light as if you hit a switch and that was really weird

I’m not as sensitive to the bloom and strobe bugs as others are so I don’t have clear memories on it. Bloom though kind of ebbs and flows as an issue—I think because of how the game’s lighting system works. The krill strobe bugs have definitely improved over time.

Also, in ye olden days of beta, the krill were very dumb and would forget that you existed if you flew above their head out of their line of sight, and didn’t have that attack countdown. Agreed. Playing during a time where migraines were going on made it too difficult to endure, even started to feel a bit ill! The in-game setting to alter the brightness at the moment only seems to make the colours muddier but it doesn't impact the bloom, how brightly washed out areas are getting and the blinding contrast as you move from shaded areas to sunlit ones. Fiddling with the ipad brightness settings also doesn't alter that. It's difficult to change outfits in some zones with how bright the reflection from light tends to get. Really hoping they adjust this some day.

Uhmm I must say this, the candle costs (till now) are high for the nodes of the mannequins 🥺. The top 32-35 candle nodes of spirits in season of moments was understandable, but till now what I have seen is that the candle cost is 40+ candles, and most of the lower nodes are costing 30-35 candles.... That's insane 😭

As far as I'm aware nobody should own the cape in game at this point either, it was eaten from our wardrobes and never restored before the event ended, even the spells were null so if you see folks with that then I'd suggest reporting - but we definitely only tested dracula looking cape, cob web cape, pumpkin accessory, crab cape, crab pants, and boots (lemme know if I forgot a thing brain go weee)
