i'm REALLY upset at the moment so i'm going to keep this short lest i say something i'll regret:
we need to be able to send feedback on planned prices. in a game with expensive IAP that's just as important as feedback about how the item is in general. pricing some sticks with orbs on them at 20 USD is. well it ain't great, for sure! especially when it's thought that adding candles will make the pricing better.

that said, @ testers if nothing changes please say what you think an item should be priced at when you give feedback on it. i'm sure people did this but i just want to mention it still.

I did this when submitting feedback after Ktjn's messages about pricing removal from beta, I will intentionally feedback all my pricing views and I hope we can all do the same so tgc are still receiving enough of a clear statement on how important pricing should still be viewed in beta. Whilst it doesn't have any affect on our testing abilities, it seems much more beneficial to have pricing knock backs in testing than when they've already ended up in live.

I should clarify I'll still be talking about the actual items/events/etc. when I feedback too

Please absolutely do send in your beta feedback on IAP pricing to the feedback channels! Things like how much you'd pay for it, how interested you would (or wouldn't) be in an item based on its price point or features, and things like that. Whatever price it's ultimately released at is decided on at least a dozen different factors, some based on the beta version of Sky and others based on the live version of Sky, so the decision may end up being one that disappoints some folks. But it doesn't mean that the feedback isn't wanted or doesn't matter

The issue is we don't have a starting base for what you guys think it should be. If we suggest 2 USD for what you guys would price at 20 USD I feel our feedback on that will be out the window.

Plus having that baseline price all testers can see stimulates conversation and perhaps more of a chance or a consensus about what the prices should be in testing chat do we can feedback it in a more unified way.

this argument can be valid, but the whole point of business is to get people to part with money, so giving people the incentive to do so - i.e. offering more or making an item affordable - makes much more sense than telling people to just not spend their money on the item. I haven't seen that happen so far from tgc specifically, but it's just food for thought for those who use it as an argument. We want to buy the items, we just don't think they're always fairly priced and that's a consumer's right to feedback. Doesn't mean we'll always be listened to unfortunately, but they'd make more money having it cheaper and more accessible to everyone than hiking it up and only getting the 'big spenders' buying it.

I will probably give up on being an advocate for prices that benefit all the people. I think the idea of wanting different kinds of feedback is good in theory but taking away all forms of pricing and leaving us without a baseline price wasn’t really a good way to do that since pricing still matters. I think it’d be more helpful if they gave us the prices they come up with like… later in the testing cycle?? So the quality of the item is still a subject of focus for the first few days or so

This is the low-hanging fruit: full Elder suit, after 3 years playing I am still waiting to complete the look (esp. those Forest Elder 👠 👍🏻) If you complete a suit you can get an emote that resembles the corresponding Elder’s power (Wasteland Elder could introduce a shield type of power). I don’t see the point of the shield masks, the krill repellent spells work the charm (even against multiple attacks) and I don’t need to go to the Elder temple to recharge anything.

I get why most say this but the thing is, when you slap a 20 doller price tag on a stick that you can have one animation on by eating a marshmallow, it feels... Uncreative. Yeah it comes with candles but TGC doesn't care and knows there is gonna be the other half of the people to buy it, when i know sorts of people who bought things and then regretted it.

Take Kizuna AI for an example, she supports NFTs the only reason why most people bought it, was because it was pink, (which is a somewhat rare to see color in Sky) or they were fans of Kizuna. Only for others to find out she supports NFTs then felt sicken by supporting her by buying it and then regret it.

I feel like when this stick gets added, yeah lots of people will buy it, but i don't think I'll see people still having it out when the event is over..

There isn't a lot of new stuff going on right now! with a whole season having all the items laid out right in front of you, you know what you can work for, you know what you can do to get it. and that's it. with no actual gameplay to keep you busy besides grinding grinding grinding, it's only natural people get excited about anything new! so when that new thing is crazy expensive (with ascended candles or real money)... yeah! that's upsetting! the few new things being crazy expensive is really upsetting, because you never know when the next new thing is going to come!

and also like, if we allow them to charge 19.99 for a literal stick. what else will we allow? if we allow this, what's next? a single chair? a tiny head prop? all for 19.99 too because it has extra candles? and not just that, but there's also the weird thing going on in beta right now of the IAP prices being hidden after major IAP price complaints of the past about a reskin. because the rainbow pants used to be IAP if it hadn't been for beta feedback.

it's just a lot of factors to keep in mind when people complain.

Lazy Days is actually a nice idea, I felt like Days of Summer + Summer Nights as a whole were very hectic and confusing last year (why were the names so similar? why so many props through the ts so many candlessss) I like that they're grouping them together to do one event. The bonfire gave so much wax it's a great way to actually finally catch up a bit. If you played last year there is nothing to buy, and even if you didn't theres only one IGC item that costs 44 candles so it's pretty cheap! It'll be great to give everyone a break, start saving up a bit more, get some wax easily by hanging in home!

There was a statement made during beta testing that the higher priced masks would have greater protection, but this was a mistake which was only addressed today with the live patch saying they're all the same - Sagomay has since apologised for the miscommunication and updated their original statement in beta.

I see this too and while I am sad they aren't enjoying the game, it is ultimately their point of view that they are entitled to. You can't really avoid stuff like this, especially in large communities, but what you can do is focus on your own view and opinion of the game. Hearing other's opinions is good but its also important to make sure to take time to consider and value your own thoughts as well, and try not to let your opinion and thoughts be colorized or dominated by others without reason.

Say for example if you love apple juice, but another person dislikes it, that's ok. Apple juice doesn't have to be loved by everyone, in fact it's impossible for something to be universally liked. You can still take solace in your enjoyment of apple juice while allowing that another person doesn't share the same enjoyment as you.

I believe once you completed all spirits you were automatically granted the Deer mask? I can't fully remember truthfully, but seasonal hearts did not appear until Belonging.

Gratitude does not have heart fragments. Something like if you receive light from your friends everyday you'll earn hearts, no. Back in the days you earned candles instead.

There were different ways TGC experimented with with using hearts before release. IIRC, the current version of using three candles to give a heart didn’t take shape til maybe like 2-3 months before launch? For a while, you got hearts simply by friending people and unlocking nodes on the tree. There was also a (not at all good or fun) thing where you got one special candle a day to give to one person in your constellation as a heart, and man that was painful

If you didn't join the game during the first week of launch, you could expect to pay money if you wanted to get enough candles for the Gratitude ultimate. Speaking from experience. It was such a short season and you could at most just miss a single day, even with a pass.

Yeah. It was basically a popularity contest. It took, let’s say, 50 hearts to unlock piano, chat table, bass, harp, and fireworks stick from the prop closet. Some people got them all in a matter of days. Other people, it took them weeks to even unlock the first item for a mere 5 hearts

Just because you managed with apparently a lot of dedication doesn't mean it'd be plausible for even most of us. What if you're sick, or have long work hours, or can't get on every day? Things aren't always by what you see. Some players may just not be even interested, and like freya said you sounded rather demeaning about the topic which is partially why I shut it down.

Dock and 30 fps setting removed most of the motion blur for me. Seems it might be a graphic setting to blur missing frames at the set frame rate? We all know the switch barely reaches 60 fps in most places, (like in Sanct, you can't get over 30 fps and are lucky if you hit 30. Hidden forest usually sits around 32-44 fps) so this may make a bit of sense.

It might sound like a joke, but that kind of is the reality of it: with the specs that Sky is pushing for, you need a beefy enough mobile device that matches the spec requirements. So even though it's a "free to download mobile game", there's still an initial cost in the mobile device you need to have already paid for in order to pay for it, so it's not all that different from needing to have paid for both a console game and the actual required console to play it

Graphics is probably only part of the problem -- the game's collision system also looks like it might be pretty intensive judging from some of the stuff I've seen when playing side by side with a friend

It would probably be less efficient for them as a company to focus on releasing builds that suit lower end devices, it's natural that some will get left behind as software progresses but it's a shame for those users who can't just go out and upgrade their phone

From what I've been told, the Switch's hardware capabilities are weaker than some of the latest iOS devices -- so there'll be a certain minimum point they'll have to support in order to make sure the game at least runs on that platform

To be fair whatever they've added in this new build specifically (I'm not technically inclined but the water is prettier and I imagine that's taken a lot of technical stuff to happen amongst other things lol) it's even caused issues such as motion blur etc. for the devices that don't usually struggle

Highly unlikely, real reflections are usually very graphically intensive. The "reflection" you see in some water-based areas is actually an identical model of your sky kid underneath the water (and forcing yourself underwater actually causes the "reflection" to come above the water)

I'm saying you're seeing a flipped clone of yourself mimicking your every movement, centered around the surface of the "water floor". They can't easily do the same thing with the multiple mirrors around the narcissist stage -- that risks having multiple copies of your sky kid running all over the screen outside the mirrors

It's definitely not easier than chibi mask. You also have to be like SUPER small to do it. Max small almost or +0.03 max taller than the smallest height

They should just give us mask overlays. Tall mask and chibi mask with mask overlays where you could wear the elder mask on top of chibi or smth

tbh i think its important to recognize that if sky has become boring to you its fine to let it go... suggestions to adding more and more veteran content will just end up alienating everyone else. elder masks, tier 2 capes, TS (especially), etc... they're already so stressful to keep up with for regular players. it should be fine for sky to become a game you can pick up or leave behind and come back to at any time

I don't think they looked at it specifically as taking away oobing, I think they looked at it as fixing glitches that weren't ever meant to be there that have been enabling us to do more than just simple oobing - I'm mad about it, but not being able to spiral has made us have to do trials properly (shhh don't tell them about those dropping into the portal cloud tricks) and now we have to run vault semi properly since they nuked spasm. The table drive was making it easy for us to break into absolutely everywhere and the wrong warp was just another way for people to avoid helping with multi doors. I don't think those are the official specific reasons for taking all those things away, some might have just been them tidying up long overdue glitches that they've always intended to fix, or unfortunate results of other mechanics implemented as the game has developed - but overall I think the reason behind the fixes hasn't ever been to prevent us from oobing entirely, but I wouldn't blame them if it was because people have been using the glitches to avoid playing being helpful on cr and everything.

I will admit I chibi fall through multi doors but my personal rule is to only do this if nobody is standing waiting for help and if I do chibi fall and then I see after that people have gathered I will go back to wait and help them before I zoom off. The only reason I chibi is because it's a nightmare having to wait for people to help, this in itself is probably the mentality of a lot of chibi kids and only adds to the problem. If chibi fall ever gets fixed I'll be mad sad about it but I'll understand entirely cause it's a nuisance when it comes to multi doors. I wish they'd reinforce them so chibi fall was impossible around them tbh
