A pre-order is also a way to support the studio, by letting them know you intend to play the game in the future.

this is a super late answer but there was an incident during the season where we had a reset mid-day. so people who collected the daily candle and 4 candle bunches before the accidental reset could collect two extra seasonal candles for that day. hope this solves the mystery
