can confirm as someone with ADHD, i hate my camera turning around on its own so much. i am a firm believer that the player should retain full control of their character and camera unless they elect to trigger smth like a cutscene or a spirit. (just my opinion here)

yeah don't get me wrong, i get how it can be helpful for newer players who don't know where the spirit is going, but like... i know where it's going, and i know i can honk if i lose track of it. i kinda wish they would add toggles for certain features like auto jump or camera tracking spirits so that people who want those things can leave it on, people who dislike them can turn them off

If a wasteland spirit activates I just let whoever is doing it finish before moving more. (Or leave the area and come back later) Too risky for me. The camera is bad enough in Graveyard shard cut scenes.

Why AFK is different from active playing

• Devices can heat up more during afk. When actively playing, the CPU and GPU can manage processing loads more effectively as they adapt to gameplay needs, whereas being AFK may cause them to run at a constant high load, contributing to overheating
• Active gameplay often triggers the device’s cooling mechanisms to work efficiently. Additionally, when we feel that the device is hot, our blood flow and body thermal management in our hands actively cool the device.
• Prolonged periods of high temperature from being AFK can lead to accelerated wear on internal components like the battery, motherboard, and other hardware, reducing their lifespan.
• After 10 minutes of inactivity, your Skykid stops collecting wax, and even if you find ways to bypass the AFK timer, the wax rate at passive spots is extremely slower, so you'd need to candle run in addition to that.
• This affects server resource management and server costs as well, which in the long term can affect IAP prices.
• A static scene exponentially raises the risk of screen/pixel burn-in.

It kinda depends on the kernel and drivers for most devices, while the operating system has less to do with it. These days, all devices try to optimize their performance with dynamic adaptive stuff. But still, even with those optimizations, being AFK for a long time can still be risky, especially if the device isn't made to handle constant high loads well.

There are definitely two types of overheating to consider. One is when the device just shuts off to protect itself, which can happen if it gets too hot. The other is when it runs at high temperatures below critical levels for too long.

Hi Star! The battery saver is a commonly used function mostly in Android devices, but it usually has a different purpose: in most devices it usually helps to extend battery life by limiting background processes and reducing performance when the screen isn’t touched, but there are 2 problems: Sky is in foreground and puts a static load on the device (that's why the device can heat up more during afk). Games don't let the device hibernate. Therefore most Android built-in battery savers won't save you much heat or resources, they are made for the long term and background apps, not gaming. They are useful when the device is idle (not computing in the foreground). Some androids offer Gaming mode where you can set performance modes, the most limiting one could be helpful by sacrificing game smoothness. Third party battery savers (from Play store) work differently or they're often just a placebo. Fun fact, the phone goes into hibernation mode even if you don't allow the battery saver and can be in wake up mode with battery saver as well.
