Trying not to be spoiler-y, I know the game is “older” but plenty of new people on board and while it’s not the most riveting story of all time at first glance I really enjoy the lore, I’ve gotten to the point where I’ve beaten two of the “invasions” and now am doing the missions beyond the normal map/invaded map, just wondering when it’ll no longer “skip” side content or block me out of achievements when I decide to go to the DLCs. There would likely be a lot of conflict issues, for starters. How would we address that? What if one copy has more godrolled gear or rare items, but the other one doesn't? What if one has the fabled SCUBA apparel no longer obtainable, or the special patch for completing Dark Hours on first week release?

They'd have to ask which profile to overwrite the other and that's its own set of headaches the Devs just don't want to deal with, and one players probably don't think of but will be just as annoying for them anyway.

Exactly what I mentioned. Imagine having rare items on one character but equally rare items on the other, what do you do? Merging sounds simple enough, but I doubt it's actually that easy without breaking something in the process.

It's like tweaking a game's engine. Can you do it? Yes. Is it easy? Hell no. You'd need the entire dev team working on something like that, and there's a high chance of catastrophically breaking the game in a very. very harsh way.

I just pulled the biggest fkin save of the century in CD. The entire group reeked of newbies, one DC'ed before the end and two died at the end.
