but when I plug in my charger for lap and the frame goes up to 90 - 110 the game actually feels smooth

When a player has reached the maximum "heart" level with a character by giving nectar & ambrosia, is it guaranteed to get the "special bond formed" pop up with a chibi art of the character on their Keepsake? I am worried I may have encountered a bug, but I'm not entirely sure.

Hello! I've encountered quite an interesting problem

I always played Hades through family sharing on Steam. But recently I changed my PC, and the save progress on the new one got a bit shaken - the progress I made on my account got lost, and instead I received the save file of the person who shares me Hades. I don't want to sound crazy, but when I played I had only one save slot used, meanwhile she had two of them (and now when I log into the game I have two as well). Dates, statistics and everything else also points out that this is her progress, not mine. I can provide you with more details on that if needed.

One more thing to note in case it's important - we're using the old family method, not the new beta.

I searched for the problem online - found nothing. Tried renaming the .sav files as written in the guide - it just loaded her older saves, nothing related to my progress. Is there a way to solve this and get my progress back? Thank you in advance!

I've started today's session at around 19:10 hours (CEST) and ended it in 21:30.The problem with my save file occured when I used the "Give Up" option at the first encounter in Tartarus,for some reason my save file reverted to the start of today's play session,I checked the Steam guides and tried to changing Profile1_Temp.sav and Profile1.sav,but strangely there was only Temp.sav file with the first run that I did today,no other Profile.sav files that would fit today's time period were found.
I have the PC Steam version of the game and really don't know what to do now.

Hey, so, I'm using an Intel CPU with no discrete graphics card. The game runs great, but I'm wondering. People say that Intel's Vulkan drivers are bad, so I dunno, which API should I use? DirectX or Vulkan?

hello! I've had a bit of trouble launching hades on Vulkan - I keep encountering a fatal encounter error and have attempted every fix in the #h1-tech-fixes channel (for launching the game). It does launch on DirectX and have been able to launch vulkan before but this error is pretty new.

( I have also swtiched between integrated and nvidia graphics and that hasn't made any differnece)

it only seems to happen when I'm trying to fight someone and the screen will lag and i won't be able to input some or any controls for a brief moment (sometimes I'll have moments where I can't input "E" or left click for a few seconds just randomly, but is even worse when there're more foes on screen). This used to reset when I switched launch options.

i'm having trouble getting playstation buttons to appear in the game on PC for my dualsense, disabling steam input makes them appear but i have various issues with the controller afterward... especially when disconnecting, because then when i reconnect the controller i can no longer move or press any buttons

Ok, something else: try disabling Steam Overlay. If that doesn't help, try launching the game directly through the executable, rather than through Steam (however, keep in mind, that you won't get any achievements that way if you still have any to unlock).

For the bond to be fully forged and the pin to appear on the keepsake icon, you need to have a specific conversation with Dusa in Zag's room about your relationship. Best to keep playing and talking to Dusa as much as possible, and any available NPC, too.

I just unlocked the final form of aegis and when I equip it, returning to the game from the aspect selection screen is noticeably unresponsive with the game seeming to hang.
If I use this aspect, during the run, usually after 2-3 encounters, my game will visually freeze and become unplayable, I can hear the game responding to me pausing and unpausing the game and responding to my other inputs but I can't play as nothing changes on screen.
It seems to only happen with this specific weapon + aspect combo and have not experienced any technical hiccups on any other run but can consistently trigger this issue when I select this aspect.
I've tried using the aspect in all 3 launch options (dx9, vulkan etc.) to no avail and have gone through the steps listed under "experiencing freezes, drops etc." in the tech fixes.
Any idea what might be causing this or how I can use this aspect?
For the time being I can continue playing with other weapons, but would love to be able to use them all

reinstalling seemed to have done the trick
i did have a momentary hang when i first selected the aspect
but then unlike before where i would get a hang consistently, every time i reselect the aspect now there is no issue
and i've manage to get past a couple bosses with no problem, before it was after a couple encounters

Those look like a Steam backup files, so Steam should know how to restore them, I guess... Alternatively, you could do the backup of the game save files which are located:
· On Windows, navigate to \Documents\Saved Games\Hades
· On macOS, use Finder’s Go > Go To Folder menu and navigate to ~/Library/Application Support/Supergiant Games/Hades

Hey, i lost quite a lot of progress in Hades after i started the game after some time again on my Steam Deck. I tried the fix/-es from the FAQ, but the other file in there was a Profile1_temp.sav, and restoring that one just gave me back one from 2022. I know i played after that and was close to the Epilogue, but couldn't get that one back unfortunately.

I have spent about 5 hours trying to get the dusa cutscene once her bond level is maxed. I have spend about 75 runs trying to get it to trigger, although most of them were just dying in the first room though i have beaten hades a handful of times just to be sure. Every new run I try to talk to every character i can. I have every bond max except dusa and aphrodite. I have verified my files and reinstalled the game. Is there anything else I could possibly do to finish getting my bonds.

I have a softlock triggering with "enter hades room mission" when you're supposed to get the key from achilles.

So it's first 8 heat finished run, I climb out of styx no doors are interactable with, 1 main quest with achilles, 1 progression quest with thanatos, validate the 2 quests, and then rooms are still no interactable with. Medusa, Cook, Cerberus, Shop and Morpheus can be still talked to but I'm completely stucked.

Recently ran into this issue with mouse tracking. I've tried playing with the launch options (/UseMouse=true, /AllowControlHotSwap=false, /UseNativeGaInput=true, /UseNativeGaInputnoControllers=false) but no luck there. Also tried toggling the various mouse options in game. Tested my mouse with other games on Steam and it was tracking fine.

I believe this issue started a week back or so when I did a system upgrade, so it could be something niche.

it was a long time ago, but losing my progress in Hades on Epic Games Store made me stop playing it (even when a friend graciously gifted me it on steam, itwas frustrating starting from the beginning) - I did ask for help getting data back way back when but it's been a few years and while I'd like to play Hades again and witness some of the characters stories I couldn't (Than, Achilles, Hypnos especially) I'm not sure how to 😭 I had finished the main game to where the credits played and was working on upgrading stuff and getting story progress when I lost it. When I run hades in portable mode on my switch everything is fine minus some slowdown when the screen is full of enemies. However on my desktop monitor in docked mode, sometimes it feels like the game speed increases. Characters and attacks move faster (and no I didn't turn up the heat - Zagreus moves and attacks faster too, almost like the game is in fast forward).
Edit: nvm the speed up bug is known. Doesn't make it any less obnoxious when dying to bosses. I think it's tied to Hyper Sprint because it shows up most often when I have that boon.

I'm having an issue that sounds similar, replying to you just in case it's relevant to you too. However, I have at least one other issue that I'm not sure is related.

I first launched the game a few days ago, and I've been playing through steam using proton experimental and vulkan without any issues. Started having issues today, and none of the tech fixes worked for me

What happened:

• I launch the game from steam and one of the following occurs (across ~12 launch attempts):
  A. The window is blank and the main title music plays (most common)
  B. The menu loads and I can navigate to my save file, but the window is blank upon loading the save (expected audio is present) (less common)
  C. The progress bar appears but then everything freezes (happened once) - see X
X. My RAM fills up within seconds and my computer becomes effectively frozen and requiring hard reboot. I've triggered this a few different ways: 2-3 times during A while trying to figure out the blank window (including switching focus away from it to other windows). Once during B when I toggled the fullscreen option in the settings menu. And then the one time in C just while the game was loading and I was pre-emptively preparing a program kill command while watching the process list to see what was eating the memory (it was Hades.exe). By the time I saw the memory usage spiking, everything was already frozen

• I launched .../Steam/steamapps/common/Hades/x64Vk/Hades.exe with wine three times:
  The first time, it was like B, but I didn't have any save data so I closed the program
  The next two times, it behaved like A

Looking in the Hades.log file from two different launches (once with steam, once with wine), I see the same few error lines related to missing UI .sjson files that were not found in the ...\Steam\steamapps\common\Hades\Content\Game directory.

However, these files do seem to exist elsewhere, located the ...\Steam\steamapps\common\Hades\Content\Game\GUI directory
I'm not sure if this is the issue, but it might be related to there not being anything rendered on launch.

Hi! I wasn't sure exactly where to post this considering the tech-support channel is for pc players but I wanted to ask about the audio quality on the ps5 version of the game (Hades 1). I noticed that sometimes in dialogue the voice acting (for any character) seems to become tinny-sounding and like... low bitrate? I have heard others online having similar issues but couldn't find any solution or fix for this problem. Would love to know if you have any potential solutions to try.

The screenspace for Hades 1 is designed for 16:9 aspect ratio (you're 16:10), so it adds some bars to the top (and probably bottom as well) to pad out the space. Hades 2 handles it a little bit differently, which is why they might look off

The audio sliders are currently all at the maximum setting but I have tried them in different spots over time as well.

And I purchased and downloaded it from the PS Store (digitally). It should be the latest available version since I only downloaded it about 2 weeks ago.

I redownloaded the game and it still seems to give me the same issue. The version it shows on the main menu at the top right is V1.38226.

If it helps for audio settings I've tried both Linear PCM and Dolby Atmos. Both seem to have the same issue.

Have you tried renaming one of the Profile1.sav.bak files? The one without any number in its name, from 8:59 PM, looks promising. Also, try renaming while the game is open in Save Slot selection menu, then try launching the Profile 1 save after you rename it. I'd make a backup of that whole save folder first, just in case.

okay, i tried the method u suggested and it tells me the save has been corrupted, then when i press OK the game crashes.
so, i tried just renaming it ahead and selecting my save despite the wrong info on it. it then gives me a list of backups to choose from, but none of them were from the run that i lost which was from around 10pm. i was already in the rat rooms at that time but the backups just bring me back to skully.

normally id just restart but im hoping to recover my run because i got a lot of new boons that ive been trying to get for a while :( any help is appreciated!

Hades 1 switch lite volume is too low, this is a general problem with handheld mode for people but idk if it has been reported, it's pretty game breaking and experience affecting as it's hard to hear dialogue

Ok. I'd do a backup of that folder just in case. Then try things in this section #h1-tech-fixes message as well as launching Steam as administrator. After making sure that antivirus software is not preventing the game from saving, try renaming one of the backup saves (like Profile1.sav.bak) into Profile1.sav while the game is running and you're on the Save Slot selection screen, then try launching the Profile 1 save once you renamed the file (even if the save slot still shows as empty).

Changing system locale shouldn't affect this, but I just noticed, that you opened the save files folder on your HDD (E:) -- try looking for \Documents\Saved Games\Hades on your SSD (C:), and move your save files there.

hello! i'm playing on steam (mac) and my mouse + keyboard controls aren't registering correctly. i had to double click to begin the game from the main menu but from there, zag isn't able to move with wasd. i disabled Steam Steam Input as it was initially enabled when i tried hooking up my controllers to my mac. i read through and tried the fixes in #h1-tech-fixes but none have resolved the issue :< i have a feeling it's because of the configurations i did when i was trying to connect my controllers but i'm not 100% sure

Hello, few days ago i reinstall on Steam Hades. If this is your first time visiting Greece, you should be able to walk once Zag stops talking, after several seconds. If that's not the case, try verifying the game files integrity, and potentially also have a look at #h1-tech-fixes message to try to recover a save before that, as maybe your current save got corrupted somehow.

It looks like it's a known issue with Epic, and people were able to get it working by adding the Epic launcher as a non-steam game and launching it through Steam, then launching a desired game. Alternatively, you could use a third-party software such as DS4Windows.

· On macOS, use Finder’s Go > Go To Folder menu and navigate to ~/Library/Application Support/Supergiant Games/Hades

The following assumes your save data is in Slot 1:

1. Rename Profile1.sav to Profile1_old.sav
2. Copy and paste the save from cloud into this folder
3. Rename that file to Profile1.sav
4. Open the in-game Play menu and look for the save
5. If that doesn't work, repeat from Step 1 with the next most recent .sav file

Hi my Hades game suddenly got a black screen and a loading cursor and won't start. I followed all of the troubleshooting, minus the C++ thing because I don't know how it works and I am using a brand new (refurbished) windows PC that I bought less than a month ago. Those steps are for recovering a backup—however, it's the same basic idea to make a copy, renaming your most recent _temp.sav file to Profile2.sav (or 3/4).

|| My personal recommendation is to make the copy when you enter the pre-fight shop, so you aren't immediately thrust into the fight, but it also works if you do it after loading into the boss fight room ||

Hello, my save seemed to have corrupted or not saved. I played yesterday morning for a few hours, and it saved, and went to play again last night for another few hours. I've had controller problems with Hades 1 for a long time and haven't been able to find a fix. I'm playing on PC on Steam, wired Xbox controller, and I have frequent ghost inputs, only with up and down (never with left and right). I never have a problem with ghost inputs on any other game with the same setup. I've tried everything I can find and nothing works... with and without /UseNativeGaInput=true /UseNativeGaInputNoControllers=false launch options, with and without Vibration enabled, with and without Steam Input enabled, no other controllers connected (not even another wireless receiver dongle or anything). Any ideas on what else I might be able to try?

If you already whitelisted Hades.exe and the game's save folder in your antivirus software (or turned it off completely to check if game saves then), it might be worth launching Steam as Admin or launching the game directly from the exe as Admin.

If you go to your shortcut for the game, right click -> properties. There's a field called "Target" under the "Shortcut" tab, if you add the launch option after the file path it should use it

hiii, I for the life of me can not get my switch joycons to work with the game on steam. I've tried using the launch options /UseNativeGaInput=true /UseNativeGaInputNoControllers=false, enabling and disabling steam input, turing off vibration, reconnecting my controllers, playing in big picture mode, etc. and this is the only controller i have ever connecting to my computer. Your aspect ratio is 16:10, and the game was designed for a 16:9 aspect ratio, so the devs added some padding to the top and bottom so things wouldn't be stretched

Hello, I had to reinstall windows yesterday, and have lost my save progress. I expected to lose the on device Documents save files, but ensured that Steam Cloud Saves were enabled for Hades, and indeed it said Cloud Status: Up To Date. However, I have lost all progress. I started a new file yesterday, and played one run. Even now, it says the status is Up To Date for cloud syncing, but looking at the steam cloud save page, there is no entry for Hades, and in the steam properties page for it, it says 0 bytes stored / 60MB available.

Hey, unfortunately, it seems that your progress have been lost, as something must have gone wrong with Cloud Saves... Possibly, an antivirus software (or Windows Defender) prevents the game from saving, so it might be worth following steps here: #h1-tech-fixes message

As for lost progress, there are some pre-made saves that might help if you don't want to start from scratch. If you'd like such save, please dm me and I'll try to find something that was closest to what you had.

Fully exit Steam, then right click on the shortcut and select "run as administrator". It's something you only want to do with programs you trust, but Steam is absolutely safe, and doing so should allow Hades to override whatever is stopping it from saving

You could also try running Hades directly as Administrator, by going to the location of the game executable (right click on the game in your Steam Library -> browse local files, then go into x64 and find Hades.exe. Right click -> run as administrator)

I'm playing the mobile game on Netflix, and the last seven games just disappeared (including my first breakthrough to the surface!). Earlier today I was prompted to resolve a conflict between my local save and my cloud save. The local save was the most recent one. But a few hours later, Hades defaulted to the older cloud save.

Supergiant refers customer support to Netflix, but they were useless. The customer support operator said I should check my saved games in iCloud, but wherever my Hades games are saved, it does not appear to be iCloud. So I really have no idea what cloud my games are saved to. Does anyone know about this? Also, how do we access local saves on iPads or other mobile devices? If anyone has encountered this problem on the mobile game, I'd be interested in your experience.

Hey, as long as you do backup of your PC saves, you should be good, as you can always use them in case something goes wrong, and then sync with Switch. And for changing the order, you would need to rename the files.

How I would do it, is have a backup first in a separate folder, then in Hades saves folder (check here for location: #h1-tech-fixes message) rename your current Profile1.sav and Profile2.sav to something like Profile1_old.sav and Profile2_old.sav, then copy Profile1.sav from backup and once it's in the Hades saves folder, rename it to Profile2.sav, then copy over the Profile2.sav from backup, make sure you don't overwrite the existing Profile2.sav (so it should be something like Profile2 (1).sav), and rename it to Profile1.sav. Then launch the game and check if both saves are how they should be. Hope it makes sense 😅

I believe some boons are forced to appear at certain times depending on your progress, like Demeter here after reaching Hades for the first time, or also Poseidon earlier giving you his Call. You should get Athena bit later this run, and then again at the first possible occasion at the begging of the run for runs after this one, as long as you don't use Give Up function, but finish the run naturally.

· Navigate to your Documents folder, create a folder called Saved Games, then create another folder in that one called Hades
· Run Notepad, or any text editor, and enter the launch settings you'd like to use (see below)
· Save the file as HadesCommands.txt in the folder \Documents\Saved Games\Hades\ (düzenlendi)

In the IOS version you can sync and quit, but I noticed you can’t do it in the Cerberus room in the temple of Styx. I tasked switched to check a boon effect and switched back but my game sent me back to house of hades because I couldn’t sync and quit.

You could try opening Epic as administrator and the launching the game to see if it helps. Also, have a look here to look for your save files, and try to restore one of the .bak files #h1-tech-fixes message

If you interact again with the gloves in the weapons room, you should have an option to select which aspect (mode) the gloves are in. You'll want to make sure that "Aspect of Talos" is selected

Hello i've had some issues with audio glitching, walking sound chopped, some audio tracks chopped, is there anyway to fix this ? during fights everything seems to be working well, but after the fights or when entering some chamber the audio glitches.

Have you checked your audio driver as well as GPU? And it might be worth maxing out the in-game sliders and adjusting separately with the Windows Volume Mixer (won't be able to adjust individual sliders, but could help inform what the issue is)

Chiming in to say that I'm also having problems logging into Steam on my Switch:

• Open Hades on Switch
• Select Cross-Saves, Connect Steam
• Steam browser page opens
• Select "login" in the upper-right corner
• Redirects to a page that says "New to Steam? / Create an account" with nowhere to enter credentials

Troubleshooting performed:

• Attempted login with the Steam "Desktop site" (instead of mobile site) same results
• Updated my Switch to the latest version (ver 18.1.0)
• Rebooted my Switch system (hold power > Power Options > Restart)
• Checked internet connectivity in System Settings > Internet Settings > Test Connection (60 Mbps down / 18 Mbps up)
• Successfully browsed through the Nintendo online store

I finished the game on ps5. On ps4, the game doesn't save regularly. On ps5, it would temp-save upon entering any floor and delete the temp-save when getting hit. On ps4, it seems to temp-save whenever it wants. I had made it all the way to the final floor, but the last temp-save was defeating the hydra. Is this how it's supposed to be?

What should be happening is the game autosaves to update the temp save file every room, but you can't "Quit" to reload that save once you've started the room. The latest temp save file should always be the most recent room you entered.
