I'd suggest going through and briefly equipping each of the aspects, that may prompt the game to realize that you've unlocked them. If that doesn't work, then you may just need to do another run and it will trigger.

Hello I bought steam version of Hades for Mac. I have downloaded it in my M1 13" MBP 16GB RAM version. I was able to play for first 40mins but after that it started freezing and became unplayable. So I rebooted my mac and launched the game again. But again the game freezed and became unplayable within 5 to 10 mins.

Hi I lost my 100 hr Hades save file on Xbox PC for Windows(in-game shows no save files). I have checked the savegames folder and it is empty. I have not moved or deleted any files/folders on my PC in over a month.

The only thing I can think that triggered this is that I exited the game, waited for it to close out then immediately shut down my PC(through the start menu) and perhaps it wasn't done syncing yet?

Editing to add context: I have read the unofficial wiki that says if you start a new save file in the slot your old one was (e.g. you deleted it in-game and started in the same slot) it overwrites the saved FILE and makes it unrecoverable. I did in fact click slot 1 immediately, my brain caught up with me that "hold on it said empty??" and I exited back to the main menu right away. No idea if this has ruined my shots of getting back my old one, but my saved games folder is completely empty.

I recently purchased Hades game from Xbox service on pc so I can play on it but also on my console.
However, the game repeatedly does not launch, it tells me that it is impossible to open the application and I can uninstall the game, reset it or even repair the files, nothing helps. All my drivers, or my windows versions are up to date, I even have other games installed with the Xbox launcher which works very well, they are in the same directory, so I don't see a solution.

The file location is described here, but it's an issue with Xbox, not Hades.

Note that if this happens again, your files aren't actually gone, the game is just failing to find them. That's why reinstalling fixes it.

Hey hi, love hades and bought it for Xbox and have been having a blast but I ran into a consitant issue whenever I play the game. I found myself inexplicably crashing at certain points in the game, first it was Elysium but after some fiddling around I found a way around it.. or so I thought. I found that this run specifically, today I mean, I found myself crashing not at Elysium but at earlier points in my runs, I use runs because this has happened repeatedly and I have been annoyed every so throughly because I had so many runs wasted because of it. Luckily they don't count on the run counter but it's still pretty annoying, a fix or what I assume to be a fix for it was actually connecting myself to the internet, I only have a phone Hotspot so it's the best I can do, and that seemed to fix it until it wasn't fixed. My only guess was my console was someone messing with the games logic and for whatever reason crashed me at random points in my runs. Maybe something to do with the achievements? Or the Xbox? I'm not too sure but any help would be great because I was having a blast until I was sent back to the Xbox home menu after finally reaching the Styx.

Hey everyone 👋 coming here with what I believe is a bug but just started recently. My Pact of Punishment numbers seem to be getting.. messed up. It currently seems to be present for all weapons. It shows like I did runs with heat higher than I really did. You'll see what I mean - from the screenshots you can see that my highest heat with shield is 32, but if I pump it up to 37, it looks like I actually completed all bosses on 37 heat. I tried to do a run to see if I would still get the rewards, but no, I get darkness even though I never did a run on this heat. This is a little game-breaking since I still have quite some titan blood, ambrosia and diamonds to harvest 😦

@stray elm I see, but for example, this same issue seems to persist with Fists, where I never did runs in heat higher than 2, and it looks like I got first three bounties up to heat 20+, which is impossible, same thing with sword where i'm at approx heat 10, but it looks like I got all first three bounties for all higher heats as well

For those, you always get rewards for the lowest heat level you have not yet completed on a given weapon. So if you haven't completed Heat 3, you'll be working on Heat 3 rewards even if you're playing on Heat 30

Hey! I've issues with saving my game. I do (at least to my knowledge) everything correctly, killing all the enemies, then pressing exit (it even shows me that it saved). As soon as I leave the session, the savefile is deleted, or at least it seems like it. Basically, the slot of my game is not showing my progress. I've done the steps in #h1-tech-fixes but nothing really helped. The only thing I noticed that I, instead of a "Profile1.sav" file, I only have the Steam_Autocloud.vdf file. Hi! So I’m just wondering if I’ve encountered a bug in that I cannot unlock the seventh heart on Thanatos no matter what I do. I’ve put sixty hours and 97 runs into the game and have beaten Thanatos at his competition at least a dozen times over, but still haven’t gotten the conversation with him where he’s like “what am I to you?” Other things I’ve accomplished are beating the final boss nine times and maxing out my relationships with Meg, Dusa, Nyx, Charon, Hypnos, Chaos, Achilles, Patroclus, Sisyphus, Orpheus, Eurydice, Cerberus, and Skelly.

Mmkay. If you'd like, you could try verifying file integrity, in case something is broken. More likely though is that it's a combination of unfortunate RNG and timing. The conversation with Thanatos is itself slightly random, and it's possible that other narrative events prevented it from happening when you might've otherwise gotten it.

It's kinda a weird corner case with Demiter's Rare Crop Boon. If you have a boon that is being upgraded by Rare Crop, purge it in a Purging Pool, and then pick it back up later in the run the new instance of that boon begins to gain levels of rarity. This may just be an intentional decision but I figured there's no harm in calling it out.

In discord audio or streaming settings you need to install an additional app to allow streaming audio. Mac has additional layers of security now to try and prevent audio from being captured by bad actors. You will need to install that app then make sure all needed permissions are given to discord. Last but not least you cannot run hades in true full screen because discord won’t capture the audio. Windowed mode fully maximized should work though.

You could look for something that checks for corrupted files or verifies the file integrity or repairs the files. Don't have Xbox myself so I'm not sure if there is such option.

But why you don't want reinstall? Your saves should be safe and sound in the cloud unless you turned off cloud saves option if that's what you're worried about.

I don't think there is a certain pattern, but still it isn't like completely random, most of the time it is at infernal troves or Thanatos, but I can recall sometimes where I just killing normal enemies, it isn't because of a lot of entities since during the hydra the game lags a bit from the shear number of stuff in screen (lava projectiles hydra heads and explosions),

And I never have long playing sessions, it can happen like after the first 10 minutes of the day

My MA thesis will be about differences, problems and possible obstacles while translating video games, Hades being one of them. I found my way into the NPCData.lua file which contains all of the dialogue in the game, but only in English. I searched further down and found Hades\Content\Subtitles\pl folder, but it only contains some flavor text e.g nominal sentences, one liners after picking up a boon or completing a chamber in excel sheets format etc. my question is; is there a file that contains the NPCData.lua but not in english, but in target languages?

Not sure what exactly you've tried, but you could verify the game files integrity:

From the HOME Menu, select System Settings
Scroll down the options on the left and select Data Management.
On the right-hand side select Manage Software, then select the software you would like to check (Hades).
Select Check for Corrupt Data.

If that won't help, try completely reinstalling the game. Doing so on Switch's internal memory rather than SD card could solve it.

Also, completely powering off the console and then turning it on again may help (yes, the classic "Have you tried turning it off and on again" 😉 )

Were you able to play it before and it only stopped working recently? You could try reinstalling the game and restarting your PC to see if it solves the issue. Running your app as an admin might also work.

However, if you have it already installed, you should still be able to try the steps provided there, as it's a matter of accessing files on your PC and fiddling with them a bit so you can move your saves to the Steam version. However, you do need another copy of Hades on Steam in order to do that (in case you weren't aware).

Anyone else have their game crash on Xbox and it reverts to a save 2+ runs before your current one? Like I was on my run #41, it crashes, and then I’m back in the armory after run #37. It’s happened twice to me now and it’s maddening.

Just had a similar issue to cradman, I had done about 2-3 runs, 1-2 last night and 1 this morning but when I entered the game for a second time this morning it seems that I lost 2-3 runs. I tried the tech fixes but my newest or most recent save file was only of early last night so is evidence of my lost progress. What is interesting is that my profile2, which I assume is my slot 2 profile, has saves of very recently this morning although I last entered my slot 2 save last night. Could my progress for my slot 1 be lost in slot 2, and slot 2 is creating this bug?, either way I would love a solution to get my progress back

You could try renaming the new Profile2 saves over to something else, like Profile3 or back to Profile1. And same thing, please send a message to [e-mail] and let them know.

I don't think you need to back up the saves, but you may as well. The Steam and Epic installation directories are different (unless you change them to be the same), so the main reason to uninstall Epic first would be to save disk space - the installations shouldn't conflict or anything.

You don't need to move your save files, though, regardless of any backing up, since the save directory is the same.

Hey, I'm in need of some help regarding transferring my save file from Steam to Game Pass (PC, so that I can later sync with Xbox)

I can't get my save from Steam to function with the Gamepass folder. I've tried renaming profile1.sav and changing it to the long filename of the largest file in the gamepass save data folder, I've also tried the same with the temp.sav file as well.

No idea why it doesn't work, but I can't for the life of me figure it out. I just want the save file over to game pass so that I may sync it with my Xbox :/

So to reiterate:

1. I'm taking profile1.sav (my steam save data), renaming it to "4421322B3F704D089E34BF7D9FE80554" or whatever the current run's file name is, which is the largest file in the game pass save data folder.
2. I'm pasting it in the game pass save data folder
3. I delete the previous file manually (it doesn't ask me to overwrite, since this is a .sav file, the one in the folder is not
4. I boot up the game on the Xbox/Game pass app on PC, but then there's just no save data to load at all

Between attempts, my data gets deleted, so I have to reboot the game and just clear a floor to create new save data for game pass btw.

It seems that the file I'm pasting in gets deleted each time I start the game for some reason

Maybe, but maybe not, the .sav is a custom filetype we use for save data and your computer is only reading it as a .sav because that's the extension on it. The data inside could be unchanged despite the lack of a file extension, you'd have to open it with a hex editor or something to really tell.

It is possible you're using the wrong file name, but again outside of using a hex editor to view the contents I'm not sure of an easy way besides the size to identify the files; Game Pass' directory setup* is not really designed to be user-readable or modifiable, and we don't have an actual "process" for data transfer, so I can't suggest much else. There is sometimes an issue with Game Pass invalidating your Microsoft session that can cause saving issues, but if the game is otherwise keeping your data, that's probably not it.

Creating a new save file might help insofar as you can sort by date modified and replace the new file

The file name I am copying is the largest one, but I've tried with the second-largest one as well. The rest are 1kb files, as well as a "122 file". And yeah, I am creating new files between attempts since sadly when I try to replace the file with the renamed profile1.sav, it just gets deleted and I have to start fresh to create a new file to copy the name of.
Very tricky to articulate coherently but I hope it makes sense

It might be syncing to and from the cloud when you launch or quit the game; you can probably safely switch the files while the game is on and in the menu screen if you have a different save slot "selected" than the one you're trying to replace.

3. Save & Quit
4. Re-open the game

Hey, just joined so sorry if this has been mentioned/asked before, I tried to do a quick search but found nothing. There also isn't a real "report" channel so I will write it here.
I killed a witch on top of lava to finish the game and did some more actions on round end freeze, causing the game to erupt in the loudest static noise I have ever heard (imagine old TV static on full blast, ears hurt for about 15m after I pushed my headset away). I use Logitech headset alongside g hub for eq, so I guess some driver seriously broke somewhere. Alt tabbing and playing any other sounds on my computer also resulted in full static. Fully closing the game fixed it, recording does not have any issues on it.
I also read #h1-tech-fixes , only setting I changed in terms of audio was master to about 50%. I have moved it back to max and use mixer now. Also could not find anything suspicious through the logs so I tried to recreate it but have not been successful so far.
Maybe this info will be useful in the future. For others - please use system volume meters, my ears now need therapy 😵

Hey everyone. I gave Hades as a gift to a friend recently, on PC via Steam. Obviously she loved the game, she had been wanting for playing it for a long time, and now she's one more soul to help Zagreus in his constant escape But she's been having a problem that she's been losing her saves all the time. I've looked at posts on Reddit or even at SuperGiant's support center, I've given her the solutions said there, but the problem persists. For some reason the game initially saves when she enters, but if she spends a few hours playing it, closes it and when she looks again, the save of those hours she played is lost and she has to go back to where she started. She has also tried reinstalling, checking the files, and nothing, the problem persists. I don't know how to help her because I've never been through anything like this with the game until today, so that's why I came here to ask someone for help.

Unfortunately rng can be cruel like that, however if you're using the Give up function then the seed stays the same so you can keep getting the same hammer over and over again, you have to let Zag die to get a different starting seed

Yes! Your save progress is stored in a handful of .sav files, which will likely be in the Documents / Saved Games / Hades folder. If they are, then your progress will carry over automatically.

I have a cross-save problem. I'm playing primarily on the Switch but do have a copy of Hades from Epic Games. I enabled sync'ing with Epic on the Switch and it connected successfully. I've played pretty much only on the Switch so far but last night I wanted to fire it up on my PC for a change. When I did, my save game slot indicated a save conflict and prompted me to press a button to continue. I opted not to and backed out and closed the game on the PC without taking any actions. I then started it on the Switch and it looks like the save game from my PC was pushed out to the cloud and clobbered my Switch save game state. I lost a pretty good amount of progress. Is there any hope to recover the previous save game from the Switch?

I love the game and how far SGG evolved from Bastion, but saying the reason is “by design”, I don’t think is a good reply.
Note: not strictly related to Hades or SGG, but is a common situation in many games.

Heyo! Unfortunately, there isn't a way to directly access your progress on the Switch, and Epic's cloud is not open either.

You could try starting it up on Epic again and see if it gives you the conflict message. After trying that, I'd suggest trying to open the Switch version as well, see if it has a conflict message queued up. I believe it might display a Cloud with a Lightning Bolt icon?

If that doesn't work, I'll need to check my notes but I don't think there's a way to recover it. However, if you lost more progress than you'd want to replay, the devs do have some pre-made save files that may be able to get you close (I can help get you set up with them).

@stray elm - thanks for the helpful reply. Yeah, I've tried those steps and neither Epic Games or the Switch shows a conflict message. It seems my old save file is there for good. It's not the end of the world since this is a rogue-like right? 😄 If you don't mind checking up on your notes to see if there are other options, I would appreciate it! I'm going to start up in another save slot on the Switch in the hopes my first game's save file can be recovered. I also appreciate the offer for the pre-made saves but I can just play from the beginning again. The game mechanics are so satisfying, it'll still be a lot of fun. Thanks again!

I think it might just be because of how small the sprite/model is compared to the size of Red in Transistor, can't fit as much detail in a small space.

huh i have a question for tech support..... everytie i ender the room with weapons skelys not there.... he spawns from the groun only when i change the weapon/ pick another one. is that intentional?

cuz sometimes im going for 2 runs with the same weapon and if i wanna talk to skelly i have to change it and then pick the 1st weapon again....

I've seen this issue crop up a few times, and unfortunately I don't have a consistent fix to offer, just some potential options. Another thing that may work if you have a Steam account is adding the Epic version of the game to your Steam Library.

Hi! I installed Hades through Steam on Windows 10, and have validated local files. I'm playing with a PS4 controller over bluetooth and most of the time it works perfectly, but at random times (although usually sometime in elysium), Zagreus will always swing his weapon to the right, no matter what direction I'm facing/moving. This only seems to happen when moving with the D-pad. If I move the joystick around, the D-pad then functions normally again, and I start swinging in the direction I'm facing/moving. I know somebody else who plays with just the joystick and hasn't seen that problem come up yet (although they do use a switch, not a PC)

Does anybody happen to have an idea on how to fix this?

Hey anyone else having a problem when using your cast (espc with Dionysus’s festive fog) that when you aim the attack doesn’t register and the cast disappears until you get to the next chamber?

When you next start up the game, make sure the mouse is on the left side of the screen, and see if that causes Zagreus' attacks to go to the left instead of the right when he stops responding properly.

No worries! That could definitely be it; I've seen "E" pop up instead of the right button (square I think?) when using the controller before. I'll give that a try and report back!

I also have this issue using festive fog on Mac. Has happened at least four times now. Two different runs. Twice against the Hydra and twice against Hades. Might be in other fights where i've not noticed it due to fight length. Seems like a significant bug.

I've tried everything that has been suggested in the history of the question of lag being asked, but I could never get rid of it. Turns out dusting your laptop can have drastically improving effects.
Definitely recommend it as a potential fix for anyone who has issues with Hades lagging.

I'm having problems unlocking Aphrodite's relationship. I've completed the epilogue, and run the plotlines for ||Than, Meg, and Dusa||. But now I'm just getting generic dialog with her. I have the bug where, despite completing ||Dusa's|| plotline, I haven't forged a bond. Is there a fix for this?

For what it's worth, I've had the conversation where ||she offer to returns the Ambrosia||, and I've run through the sub-plot where ||Nyx tells her to stop talking to me.||

Hi I am having the same issue as Amy. Every boss fight festive fog gem stones disappear so that I am always left with only one (out of three). I have verified file intergrity, and all is successfully validated. I am playing on mac. I have 45 hours in this game and it is putting me off playing any further.

I just had it against Hades when I went in with three, lobbed one, the other two disappeared. Quit the game back in and all was fine kept all three the entire fight.
