I bought the game on steam last year and completed it. Now I opened the game and all progress is lost. There is steam cloud backup so I thought it will backup my progress in cloud. But I can see my save data in documents < Saved Games < Hades.

so if your complete save file is still on your steam cloud then your best bet is to delete your local file and let steam download the one from the cloud

The way Secrets of Grindea does it, it just creates a backup save in a folder for every hour of gameplay on the dot. I wish more games did that, saves don't take up too much space. Even just 5 automatic hourly backup saves seem like it would solve a lot of missing or overwritten save problems

Hades does have several backup saves, which were added for that reason. There are unfortunately still several ways for saves to get overwritten, because of how the various cloud save/storage systems work.

the pretty marginal difference in reviews can be qualified by 'hades 2 will kill you if you try and play it like hades 1' I think, which is something that every sequel should do but it always will upset a small minority of people who loved that playstyle specifically

pyre is the only game to have co-op, everything else is single player. for pyre it has to be in person, but you can do internet co-op by using steam. there's a server for competitive pyre.

Experiencing the progression of the developers as they made their games is pretty huge. Every SGG game so far has directly built on the game before it, and playing them out of order could throw a player, a little.

I do remember Tweeting at either Greg or the SGG account that after Pyre I needed a full-tilt visual novel and they went "Bet. Here's about a hundred thousand voiced lines in Hades."

Wait, actually I think I read somewhere that the soundtrack uses an Autoharp, not a Mandolin. The instruments are similar, but an Autoharp has buttons that can be pressed to play chords, and it can be strummed with the other hand (similarly to a Mandolin)

Bastion 100% was painful (at least for me) because of Shrine idols but I had pretty much no issues with 100%-ing Transistor and Pyre

bastion was hard but it has good guides to consult out there

transistor was hard for me bc of the limiters but i feel like its lenient enough and yeah pyre is very easy but it does have vs mode achievements

which i did by connecting a controller to my pc and just doing it myself

in transistor you could also cheese it by recursing and doing all the limiters against the easier enemies in the beginning

They do scale but it still scales as being easier than later on in the game. So even if the beginning gets harder, the end would be even harder than that

And honestly build matters way more for limiters than your foes

There’s certain builds that are really safe and just wreck every enemy you can see which makes those achievements not too bad (as long as you’re ok googling them)

I'm really curious how this will feel in the game because it hasn't really convinced or moved me like the music from Hades 1 or Bastion. Idk, maybe I have to experience it with the gameplay together.

I've been playing Hades for about a day now, and I have to say, as someone who is completely blind, even without the accessibility mods, I'm getting around the game just fine, and I know when to dodge enemy attacks because they always make a sound before they do so. If the second game has as much detail in sound design as the first game does, all it would need is menu narration for when I pick my upgrades and other things that involve menus, and a sound for the doors.

I saw Hades on game pass, and I am astonished. God of war Valhalla, the game with blind accessibility in mind, is a lot more confusing to navigate, in both the hub and the dungeons. The sounds for dodging and parrying come way too soon or too late. As I said before, in Hades, enemies make sounds right before attacking, never too soon or too late. However, as with Valhalla, I don't know what upgrades I am purchasing or what I'm getting from the gods. Doors are slightly less hard to find in Hades, not too much trouble, but sounds would be of great help.

In the first game, making your way out of the house of Hades is pretty easy. Is it just as easy to find your way out of the hub in the second game, or is it quite far out of the way of your spawn point, with lots of obstacles obstructing your path? If it is the latter, are there any sound cues, from either NPCs or the door itself that could lead me out?

as i recall, heading down and to the right from the spawn point will lead you directly to the way out. As with the first game there are sounds from NPCs and objects that you could use to orient yourself.

Did you happen to play it on the original switch at all? It does run like 95% fine, but I'm wondering if the switch 2 gets rid of that 5% crazy mad frame drop it has in spots

I booted both up and tried to really listen - Hades 2 hub IS bigger and it makes a sort of star shape, but the path from the spawn point to the run start area is an almost straight line from upper left to lower right with just one bend (not even a 90 degree turn) and no obstacles. Your footstep sound changes often, and your path is always through the equivalent of the Mirror of Night, you don't have to make an extra turn for that. It has a sound as well.
The encounters in the other points of the hub have sounds, a mix of NPC sounds and environmental ones.
I will say that the actual hub exit / run start does not have a sound.. in the first game, there's a distinct sound ||once you have the pact of punishment.||
The weapon options are arranged in a circle around a subtle sound, which like the first game is close to the exit point.

Searching it up here, it appears I played it around this time of the year, three years ago. I'd recommend playing in release order, especially since Hades gameplay gets most of its DNA from Bastion out of any of their prior titles, so it will feel most familiar.

Bastion and Transistor are both pretty short and I believe both require at least two playthroughs for 100%, Pyre requires more.

I've only ever played Hades I and II. From what I've heard, with zero shade to any prior release, Hades is like their style perfectly refined. I think Hades II is even better than that. I have over 1000 hours in both. I had 1398.5 when 1.0 dropped for Hades II
