I'll bring it up, not sure what can be done to differentiate them though
Thank ye!
Please use spoiler tags @rough jacinth
I would also recommend one of the several Hades 2 channels like #h2-discussion to gush as much as you like over Hades 2 ^-^
true
My first of Supergiant's games was Pyre, still have a soft spot for it and Transistor (Bastion was fun but didn't grab me as much). The sheer amount of things to do in Hades and now in Hades II is great for me too, hard to pick a favorite. I was also super invested in the side stories in Hades, hoping to see some of the same in Hades II!
My first game was Hades, and it has helped get me through deployments when I go out with the Navy. Both on Steam Deck, Switch, and on PC. I look forward to more game play with Hades 2
My first game was Hades! It was so much fun on the Switch. I introduced it to my partner and now we’re both great fans of Hades and are playing Hades II
My fisrt Supergiant game was Bastion, still one of my favorites games.
My first game was Transistor. Great story that even made me cry at the end
My first game was Hades and I fell in love with it instantly. It's one of my top favorite games honestly. Just started Hades 2 and I adore it too.
Hades was my first game and I was instantly hooked. And so far I'm just as hooked with Hades 2!
Hades was fantastic! It's in my top 10 games of all time for sure and I'm selling my soul to the 2nd right now.. (no regrets)
But I'm a 3d character artist in school at gnomon right now and I was wondering if supergiant has any openings for internships or junior artists.
Yours is a pipeline I really want to learn.
Hades was my first game as well, and it took some of my favourite things and squashed them together, like rogue-like and mythology and hades 2 has made me google some of the more unknown gods to get an understanding of there backstory (like Malinoë) and i absolutely love it. I take my hat off to you Supergiant, you make great games and stick to the story of mythology quite well
Hades was also my first super giant game - loved Greek myth since I was a kid thanks to percy jackson and the olmpians, and now I get to re-experince Greek mythos as an adult
My first game was Hades and I can't explain how much the game got me. Greek mythology is my long lasting hobby and living it through Zagreus with such interesting and fun gameplay, seeing deities in new ways and making connections with them was amazing experience. Many characters stole my heart and I felt seen thanks to many aspects in them and their relationships.
And the soundtrack is masterpiece itself. Playing Hades II now is experiencing that joy once again, each time I see new character I scream, hehe.
My first Supergiant game was Bastion all the way back in 2012. I have most of the games but Hades II may be my very very favorite so far.
I have loved the first Hades Game. (Switch and Mac OS) now i can Finaly play Hardes II to thanks to Whisky (Wine app for Mac) I am very Exited.
I remember playing the first Hades when it first released and all the way through the COVID pandemic. As a lover of Greek mythology since I was a kid it quickly became one of my favorite games and it kept me sane through months of being on lockdown
I played transistor when it first came and it was so good, the art, the music, the story, the gameplay.... it's still one of my favorite games of all time
Hades was my first and it introudced me to rougelikes, plus loved the story and characters
Was introduced to Supergiant Games by my friends who spoke of Pyre and Bastion highly, and they recommended Hades due to how polished and beautiful the game was. As a Greek Mythology enthusiast, this was an absolutely fitting game, and so far have been highly enjoying Hades 2 <3
Was introduced to Hades basically ever since it came out! Amazing game and still one of my favorites till now
Nice
Wassup all you GODLY DUNGEON DWELLERS!!?? Hope EVERYONE is enjoying this game! I know i am!
OMG I BEAT CORNOS
I would like to post an issue i had on launch day.. I originally purchased the game on Steam, downloaded it, fired it up, and the game would not work right for me. It would work for about 10 seconds then it would freeze for 1-3 minutes...over and over again. I had to get a refund and i bought it on Epic...works just fine!
the corndog bossfight fo today
WTG!!! SWEET!
Damn I wanna make a run without using a weapon but It seems impossible to roll the Zeus boon that does dmg when you don't have mana. Can you make it so the first room boon can roll all boons? :c
that's a good question for #h2-builds-and-combat @crystal arrow
do u play with controller ?
Well, for my first comment, I've beaten Cerberus, and this game is so addictive, I love it !
Is pyre connected to hades?
No, it’s its own story
but like same universe or not even that?
Completely separate universe
is hades is the game playable at 45 fps?
i mean i drop to 45 only in the volcano biome
yeah
that's about it for the most part
i mean - i can imagine it getting worse on higher heat levels and such
but it's playable
it's just good ol hades
heat lvl?
supergiant is an shared universe /j
well theoretically greek mythology exists in every universe ever so
nuh uh
I guess it says to share my favorite Supergiant Game or first here? Um... yeah, it's Hades 1 for both of those, I think I own Bastion and Transistor, both on PS store, I am fairly certain I've yet to touch them, and I'm going to blame Mass Effect series, Borderlands series and Hades 1 for me not really getting around to it...
Favorite game would be Hades, first was Bastion
ye
with how crazy things get on 32 heat and above it's not that hard to imagine the switch chugging a bit
it's like...
what
8 years old mobile chipset in there?
christ
The only time it lagged for me was during oops, all flamewheels rooms
it's oops-all-flamewheels on a revenge build
i call them hotwheels
you know - those toy cars
cause every time i see them my inner child awakens and i just wanna pick them up and chuck them at the wall
I call them Cat Jerks... cuz their revving sounds like purring cats..... and just like cats, they're jerks who randomly pounce on me without warning.
It's not a revving noise: it's actually purring
do your cats explode when you try to pet them?
Yes. Why do you ask? Do your cats not explode?
May want to see a vet about that... ngl.

shout out to the hard working people at Supergiant for making a library of amazing pieces of art
every game in your catalog being a banger is crazy
how do you look at the boon requiments for legendary boons in this game. do you unlock th ability?
if this is about hades 2 you can check out the #h2-discussion and category, if its about the first game check out #h1-discussion
right?
they should make one bad game on purpose just to really surprise everyone
Hi all,
for now Hades will be my Fav with around 160 hours on it. Bastion was awesome too. Now playing Hades 2
one bad game, but its actually so bad it's actually the best game to ever exist
hey
deadly premonition already exists
If you're having trouble on the 2nd boss, do you have a ||Scylla|| issue?
You know, considering I haven’t beaten them yet, maybe I do (I have played all of three times with 6 hours total)
Followed Supergiant right from the release of Bastion, but the only one I haven't put a ton of time into is Pyre.. I have it in my library though, maybe I should go back to it? Currently working on the 32 fear run on Hades II, managed to complete 16 so I have 2/3 of the statues unlocked
damn im still ass at hades 2, im jelly. I cheated my way through the first game so i can do the story
not this time
not wasting my well spent 30 clams
good luck! for future reference you can always chat about it in #h2-discussion and the entire category
If I were to play all sg games, which one should I start with?
i would start with bastion and go in release order!
Started with bastion and got sucked up in the rifle/bow gameplay and music (OMG THE MUSIC). Every game has always improved since then and found a huge amount of love especially with Hades. Now onto hades 2!
My first SuperGiant game? Bastion! I played a lot of that... Loved the art style, music, and of course THE NARRATOR aaaaah! If I'm being honest though, my first real SuperGiant "love" was Transistor. Such an interesting take on a mute main character and I loved the cyberpunk dystopian world. The combat was great too. Can't have a conversation about SuperGiant without mentioning Hades... Easily in my Top 3 games of all time (if not my favorite game ever made). The first time I beat the game, I was absolutely bawling my eyes out (if you know, you know). ||Subsequent playthroughs made my heart soar - it was so nice seeing the family reunited|| (story spoilers). I love Greek Mythology ever since I was a kid watching Hercules, Xena, and Disney's Hercules so playing these characters and interacting with the pantheon was such a treat. Everything about the game was just so full of creativity and passion... I am so beyond excited for Hades 2. LOVE YOU SUPERGIANT!!!!
First was Hades! Had a friend gift it to me only saying "The damn music! Enjoy!" I have never had as much fun and enjoyment from a game before Hades. I Absolutely LOVE music, and the soundtrack in all SuperGiant games ALWAYS HIT! With Hades being my first I will forever love its soundtrack the most. I have over 90 hours in Hades and I still dont believe i've seen more than 3 total lines of dialogue ever get repeated EVER. Such an amazing story, amazing art style, AMAZING voice acting, amazing gameplay loop, and an astounding soundtrack!!!! Just opened Hades 2 for the first time and IM SO PUMPED!!!
My first was Transistor, fell in love with the art, the atmosphere, and especially the music. After playing it i had to go back and play every other release from Supergiant. I still think Transistor is my favorite
does transistor have mr korb on the ost?
I was Enraptured by Hades and I have been looking forward for Hades II A LOT
ans: yes
fighting against the sirens made me realize Supergiant Games should make a musical roguelite game.
Crypt of the Hadesdancer
Supergiant Games's equivalent of Stray Gods
Every game
i haven't heard of that?? it looks great
That reminds me I need to finish stray gods at some point™️
my first game was Bastion, so I've been here the whole time. Can safely say Supergiant Games is the GOAT
loved Bastion, loved Hades, Just killed Chronos
I dIdn't even know Bastion was from the same Developers as Hades, but looking at it know I can definitely see it
Played Bastion back in like 2014 and never really came back to the game since then cus I don't have the Game anymore
you just unlocked a hidden core memory in me by mentioning the hercules and xena tv shows
Yo! I just got here, my first game was Hades 1 and I just got the second one! Will absolutely love to see how the game shapes up (Even thought what I've played already feels so well formed)
Favorite has got to be Hades 2 already tbh. I played quite a fair bit of one and enjoyed it a lot, but liking Hades 2 even more.
I only tend to play hades on mobile but I’ve beaten it twice so far
I have played all the Supergiant Games. Bastion started my love affair and i have been excited for every game ever since. Pyre was was my least favorite of the games. Not because it was a bad game, but it didn't fit my gaming preferences at the time.
I've been loving Hades 2 and I love the first game and I need money so I can finally play the other Supergiant games
Hey guys just Joined. Fell in love with Hades . Now exploring Hades 2.. tried to stop time around 25 times so far. LOVE IT (also i am a greek so i kinda get nostalgic school vibes with all that Mythology Narration)
cheers! I found Hades over the pandemic, and never looked back
New to this discord but the first game I ever played by them was Transistor. Loved the art style and have closely followed them ever since.
Cyber art deco awww yeaaah
My first game is Hades and now playing Hades 2. Really enjoy the new stuff and expect updates!
Hello there! Hopped in this server to chat about Hades 2 and write up bug reports, if I run into any that is >.>.
I started playing Supergiant games's projects back on my first PC Build, which couldn't run a whole lot (Had a GT710 and a dream), with Bastion in 2019. Ever since I've been a big fan.
My most recent playthrough of the older games was when Hades II was first announced, I went back and did Bastion > Pyre on NG+, All Modifiers (Only did minimum required for Pyre, Those ones are INSANE!)
My personal favorites are Transistor and Pyre!
My first Supergaint games was Hades. Absolutley love it. So naturally I had to try Hades II. I am having so much fun with the sequel.
My first Supergiant game was Pyre
It conforted me in playing all other Supergiant game at that time, started with Bastion, then Transitor then Hades Early Acess when available
To me Pyre is really an unique game and I think more peoploe should play it but if I needed to choose a fav; I'll go with the Hades series as I'm really into Rogue like
Yeah bro those shows were wild!
Hades was my first game, absolutely loved it! played bastions and now hades 2, have not played Transistor and Pyre yet
My first game was Transistor and I have been in love with Super Giant games ever since then
I believe my first Supergiant Game was when I played a little bit of Bastion at a friend's once, but my real start is, as with a lot of people these days, Hades
My first game was Bastion as well. But Hades 1 was truly an amazing experience for me. I remember it came to Xbox on gamepass day 1, and couldn't believe how good it was. I have since bought it on PlayStation as well to support them
My first Supergiant game was Bastion, and I played the entire thing on a long, long car trip as a kid on the way to and from a vacation on my dad's iPhone 6. It's one of my fondest gaming memories, and one of the only memories I have of being that young.
i'm so happy i can take part in the early access of hades 2 ! hades was my first supergiant game and i loved every minute of it. everything i've heard abut the EA of hades sounded amazing and i'm sure the EA of hades 2 will be something i'll remember for a long time <3
Found Supergiant back in 2015 when I first discovered Transistor and played Bastion right after. Ever since I’ve praised the devs and have always told people to pick up their games. When Hades came out and I saw everyone singing their praises I’ve been so happy seeing so many people love what got me through tough times. Glad to be playing the EA and seeing such a great community.
Hades 1 was a great intro
I first experienced Supergiant's magnificent gameplay with Hades 1, after leching off of my ex's family share on steam, I finally bought the game for myself and half z e r o reegrets, only sheer joy and amazement at the reeplayability of the game. Now that hades 2 is out I am utterly ecstatic to see what's to come! I already have 30 hours lock into it and there are many more hours to go!!!

Also hopping in here to join the conversation about Hades 2 lol - my first Supergiant game was Hades 1, followed immediately by Transistor. I am just utterly in love with how every element of the games come together, from the art style to the sound to the wonderfully crafted gameplay itself. I sunk over 100 hours into Hades 1 alone, and I'm ready to do that and more with the sequel
I wonder once achievements will be added, will those already be obtained during this early access period, or would one have to attempt to play again to regain those achievements? No complaints, as the Game is definitely going to be a contender for GOTY again!! I'll gladly play over and over!
Depends on the achievement
Story stuff gets granted immediately
Stuff that can be repeated must be done again
For example the Than/Hermes keepsakes achievements in 1
i've only ever played the two Hades games, but i'm probably gonna pick up Transistor soon
I finshed Pyre and need to get all the achievements, and I have gotten all the achievements for Hades 1 and been playing too much hades 2 fr fr
love transistor and hades
Hello folks!
Just following the new server guide xD I started out with Bastion and have been playing everything game from SuperGiant. Sadly, I didn't play Hades since I was using the Epic Game store, but I'm loving Hades 2 TwT Death to Chronos!
Hello Supergiant staff & fans!
Huge fan of Supergiant games from France - went through Hades 1 (approx. 400h, Switch & Steam versions), Hades 2 EA (68 hours so far ^^), Bastion (2 full runs, Switch version), also halfway in Transistor (Switch).
Favorite Supergiant game so far => Hades 2
but Hades 1 & Bastion are not far behind!
So happy to be there!
Hi all! I've been a Supergiant fan for a while now - I think Bastion was the first game I finished, and I dabbled with Transistor a bit. I really fell in love with Hades, everything from the art, story, combat, and music really blew me away. It also helps that I'm a big mythology girlie haha. I was so excited to see Hades 2 announced and am happy to get to try it out in early access! Thanks for the amazing work so far!

Hi there, godlings! I must say Hades was my introduction to Supergiant and i believe it truly changed my life! I did not hesitate for a second on purchasing Hades 2 early access for if there is a team I believe in, that's is Supergiant. Thank you for the incredible work!
Hi all! Been a big fan of Supergiant games since Bastion and have played Transistor and Hades. I’ve been loving playing the Early Access of Hades II and can’t wait to see it how it unfolds.
The release of Hades II has consumed a significant portion of my free time. I wish I had more. Do you think if I asked Chronos (politely), he could offer me a little extra?
Depends on the approach, but maybe
Hello there friends and hopefully not foes, just following the server guide, I started out with Hades one played and beat it then now I am playing Hades two and that's also how I found this server.
Foe here! Fite me! 👊
Lol
Hello All, Major Supergiant fan. Started back in the Bastion days, and have am currently running through Hades II EA
Sup y'all! Not as much as an OG as the fella above me but Hades got me through good ol Covid times and reinvigorated my love for art and music, currently savin for the new game!

How do you keep a Darren Korb?
Darrens
Plural, according to this vid
So THATS how they’re able to make so much cool music so fast
my first ever supergiant game was transistor, but hades probably stands as my favorite!
I played through bastion and hades, tried transistor but couldn’t fight with that combat system… worth buying pyre?
Pyre is like if you're playing a game of basketball (partially) with casts similar to Hades 1, in the most basic terms that I can explain it.
It's definitely more narrative driven, than gameplay driven, with less of a focus on combat.
I wish I could explain it better than that >.>
Truly the worst part of pyre is trying to sell it to someone else
“Imagine ‘Coffee Talk’ but it’s fantasy basketball with a killer soundtrack.”
it's the perfecct meeting ground between sports game and visual novel and also its fantasy and also the soundtrack could bring the dead to life
God, I forgot that there are some people who know and like Pyre. Made me go relisten to the soundtrack, it really is stellar
My first supergiant game was transistor, I stumbled at it on a sale, didn't even watch the trailer really just found the colours to be pretty and it was less than a buck at the time, so I bought it. I was going in completely blind, so when I booted it it was... wow. Never really had a feeling like that before or since. The image of a beautiful woman standing over a corpse, "Hey Red... We're not gonna get away with this, are we?...", old friends quing in at the perfect moment - i. was. HOOKED. Like completely and uterly devoured. Then I put it on a metaphorical shelf as "one of the games ever" and never came back to it really
One day, everyone started talking about a new game called hades for some reason. It looked kinda familiar - asymetric, simmilar art style, the vibe... and sure enough it was supergiants barging into my life again. That all repeated again, and yeah I kinda had to go back and play everything the did before, 100-ing hades and transistor on the way
I just, I love those guys so much it's unreal, the art the music and the gameplay seem to be a targeted attack on my hyperfyxation spots. awpodakwpodawiduajsoidjwioajdiaowj also I've been playing hades 2 daily since release and have the chronos fight theme playing in my head almost comstantly for some reasons help it's not even everything there's going to be more
Whatever filter they put over Logan's voice for the Transistor is 💯
I'm an aba guilty gear and soul eater fan, I guess I have a thing for women and their sword husbands
Posts like this (now deleted) one belong in #self-promotion. Thanks
Lmao
What do i do after beating chronos
Not sure but think that's more of a hades 2 discussion
But to answer the question, || you go do it again, you unlock new weapons and new aspects, you go to the surface and all that, the game is lowkey full of content ||
Why are SGG games so hecking cozy looking, morso than other isometrics? Is it the subtle foreground elements giving things a toybox or diorama look?
Probably Jen’s amazing art
Does anybody know if there is a presskit for my thumbnail designs in Hades 2?
https://www.supergiantgames.com/games/hades-ii try the zip file?
Re: the Game Informer Magazine Hades II cover - anyone gotten one yet from GameStop? I'm trying to get a few asap when they arrive in store.
answering question = First supergiant game's game
Bastion, i got it from my dad due to him having a bundle of steam gifts.
it ended up being a large memorable and positive part of my childhood
been playing every game SGG since, Bastion is a nostalgic fav for me, Transistor a music fav, pyre a character fav and hades 1/2 gotta be gameplay favs
hi hi answering the question as well hehe, hades 2 is my frist game from supergiant and i am in LOVE. I wish i had played the first hades. I will of course but I am really enjoyhing the game.
Bastion was my first SGG, on the xbox 360, and that stuck with for years until the first hades came out. I haven't been able to put 1 or 2 down since
the impact of watching that outro and hearing Setting Sail, Coming Home... beautiful. Still my favorite SG song.
my first super giant game was bastion but i really fell in love with hades! (answering the first question)
my first SSG is Hades! I’m having a blast through the game.
SuperGiant ever tought about creating a boardgame of the Hades Franchise? Just like Dead Cells did? would be a dream
a hades board game would cause even more family feuds than monopoly
more family feuds than family feud, more than amongst the gods and titans
Hello new here
Hey guys, i saw the new patch mentioned that player can prioritize the gatherring tool, and they can gather all the resources in a run, but why i still can only gather the resource that i prioritize
where is shield?
Right next to Skelly, creeping him out
Hi hi everyone! Just joined in 😄 First played hades 1 when my best friend showed it to me and am now playing hades 2 and replaying 1!
Hello! Mainly here to share feedback for Hades 2 (having a great time so far). My first SG game was Hades 1, thought it was great
Hey, I started with Bastion, Pyre has to be my favorite. I only got here through Hades 2 though.
Hello everyone, first game was Hades 1, but Transistor might be a favorite because of both the combat and upgrade systems.
cant stop singing the praises of these devs, everything is so much more improved from the last game
the writing ,the enemies, the graphic detail, amazing
I like how super giant haven't turned evil yet XD
Can't remember what company it was but they were like "The price is so high cus it's a Quadruple A game."
Super Giant seems to be pretty good with their games and stuff.
they're less like a traditional game studio and more like a band
each game is like a different album where they experiment with their sound
Also their games don't cost billions of dollars to make I assume XD
The problem I noticed with big triple A or I I guess Quadruple A games is their all trying to chase that live service model or they put so much money into a game that they need a crap ton of money back so for it to be even considered productive money wise.
Heck Hi-Fi Rush did really good, didn't cost a stupid amount to make and stuff but the company that owns the studio still gutted them cus they don't consider games like that worth it money wise.
That or their just buying studio's to shut them down, I noticed a lot of big companies buy well loved studio's and quickly gut them.
plus it's mostly the same people that have been there for a decade, that's impressive for any place of employment
“sometimes i feel like we create games just to give you an excuse to listen to darren korb”
yeah i saw that in the GI walkthrough haha and fair point, his output and range is insane.
Especially his vocal range goodness
I believe this was Ubisoft, promoting Skull & Bones.
Oh god that was so bad XD
First game I played was transistor when it came out, and continued to love the work with Hades ❤️
AAAA?
More like AAAAAAAAAA
Ironically - I’ve spent more money on SGG games than all goobersoft titles combined
Despite them being way way cheaper

Always online
PREORDER NOW TO GET A SUPER SPECIAL KEEPSAKE!
No
Stop
Half the staff is fired so the CEO can get a bonus
Well - bastion was published under Warner bros
Oh my
That’s why end credits are like 25% of game’s runtime
Im joking, of course
But if I recall correctly (someone pls correct me if I’m wrong) - they kinda had to do it because back in those days you couldn’t really self-publish on the 360 or something like that
You had to have some beeg company to do that
Man I haven’t played bastion in ages
Hi! Im a new member. Favorite Supergiant game will always be Transistor but Hades 2 giving it a run for its money.
Bastion is what got me back in video games after decades of apathy. I just don't like most 3D games, esp ones that prioritize how "realistic" things are over how aesthetically pleasing they are. Thank goodness for SG and the other indies doing cool stuff. I am willing to pay full preorder price to support that kind of artistry
Hades is what got me into Supergiant games. Now I enjoy playing it and Hades II

A friend convinced me to play Hades 2 as well as the gods/goddesses as wella s teh inclusion of Odyseuss
Being entirely honest I do own all but 1 of the Supergiant titles, but have only really played Hades. That being said my favorite is a really rough tie between Hades and Hades 2, both have my heart torn. I love Zagreus, but as a woman I identifty with Melinoe more
Hades is one of my favorite games ever! Hoping Hades II is just as good or even better!
yo! heard about supergiant through the original hades -- played so much of it during lockdown
! first started playing transistor a while back, when it was released for free on epic games i believe! i also got into hades a year-ish ago so !! i loved both transistor's and hades I's stories, so im super excited for how hades II's story develops :]
Hey all! I was first introduced to Supergiant through Bastion's inclusion in an old Humble Bundle, from back when they were still numbered lol. I lost track of Supergiant after that, and I rediscovered them with Hades!
heyheyhey!
Hey there! Hades revolutionised my attitude towards roguelikes and now I own all the games! Really enjoying Hades II Early Access atm
please help my life has devolved into alternating between playing hades 2 and listening to the hades 2 soundtrack
I found Supergiant games through Hades and now I'm playing Hades 2 and loving both of their soundtracks, such a good sound team!
A super gigantic sound team!
i remember seeing content of transistor but hades got me in, connecting the dots :') now i'm interested trying hades 2 on pc as i played the first one on ps4!
I wanna say... thank you for creating all my new fave games. Hades2 early access came in at a perfect time: i just got laid off. I wouldve been heavily depressed and in bed, but now, Im healing through this game. Transistor was my first Supergiant Games title, and its fantastic! The music, the art, everything about it is beautiful... which is why getting to the ending was always a heartbreak to me. You deserve all the oraises and thanks, and cheers to more games!
Yeah love the format for Hades, even when you die you can still do stuff.

Hades is thirst trap
Hades 2 looks great, some of the art is a bit weird
but overall it looks fantastic
I found Supergiant Games through Transistor, proceeded to fall in love with Bastion, Hades, and now, Hades 2. Those games brought so much fun and joy that I was not expecting at the time, with amazing quality and attention to detail in almost every aspect I can find. Thank you for making such amazing games that unfortunately are tough to come across these days, and will be looking forward to your future plans, updates and releases!
Is that just because some of it is placeholder art/not entirely finished or are you not a fan of the slight design changes for some of the characters?
Placeholder I think
It feels like there's some incomplete design
just beat hades 2 and honestly forgot it was early access until the thank you message showed up, super work devs, sorry for bad english not main language
weird question? what are the chances we'll get a Hades Artbook? Showing the development process
THIS! Actually, can I report that someone on Amazon was selling a digital Art of Hades Book, that is just a mishmash playthrough of the game. :/ We got scammed.
Yeah the placeholders like Charon are quite obvious but I do also think there are some minor details that are gonna be ironed out in the ones that look complete too. I am a huge fan of some of the redesigns though overall! Plus I can’t wait to see what the keepsakes look like rather than just rings.
I'd love to see the visual development process of the game. I kinda collect those books too 😅
Especially Games I like
If I don't have a physical copy, I usually get a PDF
Hello, I never played Hades or Hades 2. Do you think I need to play the first to enjoy the 2nd one or can I already play Hades II and have fun
2 stands on its own, but i recommend playing hades first
i recommend playing hades 1 first, the connection you build towards the characters in the first game really amplified the characters in the 2nd from me, plus hades 1 is really good
You don’t have to play the first game to enjoy the second one.
But if you’re playing either, be ready to fail a lot. And maybe activate god mode
ive played a decent amount of hades, dont think ive explored all the "hidden stuff". just got gifted hades 2 and i stopped after 3 min cuz i thought stuff would get spoiled for me XD
Hades
Absolutely loving hades 2 but can there be a more lenient quicksave feature as several times now my game has crashed and I have lost some of my best runs but I do get not wanting savescumming
Real
Realized I never shared my first game when I joined 🙂 I started playing Supergiant games with Bastion, loved it, and every Supergiant game I've played since 🙂
hi, got into hades like a month ago, and now I'm just a super fan, love this community, just wanted to get that off my chest, love you all ❤️
omgg I love your than pfp, where did you find it :3?
its fanart! would you like me to send the whole pic? :)
Omg please if you dont mind!!😭
Hi
Honestly I think Hades II is my 2024/2025 favorite game
Same
And it ain’t even finished yet
shoutout to Supergiant games for making peak 🗣️
FOR REAL BRO
the grind has been so real, i CANNOT put it down
Just imagine how good it’s gonna be if they keep this pace up
And fix Mel’s moonwalking and such
Hey! Hades has got me super interested in reading about Greek mythology. If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them
Greek gods "lifes" are not really written like you would find those of the Northern gods. But the are greatly related with the legendary human stories. So I would personally recommend you The Aeneid from Virgile or the two most famous The Iliad and The Odyssey from Homer. These are big books, but the journey is worth your while if you love literature
Thank you!
you're welcome
Happy anniversary, Transistor!
Ye
Happy 10th Anniversary to Transistor!
So happy to just stop by and say I'm so thank you for all the hard work, I fell in love with Hades played transistor and love Hades 2. You guys are amazing
Happy 10th birthday to Transistor! A stunning game with a musical tour de force from Darren and Ashley unlike anything I had ever seen or heard. So proud of the incredible art and craft in all the games, from Bastion to Hades 2. To the entire SG team past, present, and future, my sincerest thanks for over a decade of magic and congratulations on your incredible achievements!
Loving Hades II so far. Hades is one of my favorite games of all time. I think this sequel is going to be even better when it's finally finished. I'm so grateful game devs like Supergiant exist who actually take the time to fine-tune their games and listen to their fans.
SGG's first game, Bastion, is their grimmest game to date: yea or nay?
yea it’s very grim behind the cute and colorful graphics. Transistor is a somber story but I wouldn’t say it’s grim
yes
oh yeah there's some morbid stuff going on behind the scenes
almost makes me wonder how did they get away with it in a 12+ game
Hello I just joined, played hades recently loved it got hades II,
got a question though, I haven't started hades 2 yet, but is it worth finishing all the prophecies and everything else in hades one first?
So I wanted to get into other Supergiant games (I'm a huge fan of Hades and Hades II) but I really don't know where to start. Any recommendation?
Bastion
Well that depends on what you like
In terms of gameplay - bastion is the closest one
If you value the vibes more - pick transistor
If you like NBA JAM - pick pyre
I just think playing in release order is a good way to show the development
Oh yeah that too
But you’re right, not every game will be everyone’s thing, but I think it’s so worth trying
I'll check them out, thank you
Which platform should I buy the game on. V2 switch mainly for portability, or on PC/laptop with ryzen 9, 3070(140w) and 32gb ram? My main concern would maybe be a large performance/graphics difference on PC?
Massive gap. A difference between sometimes stuttering or running at 100+ FPS constantly
Hey everyone, I'm new here, happy to meet you all! Started off my Supergiant Games journey with the original Hades and fell in love with the world, especially Darren Korb's music (as a composer myself)
So funny thing
I think super Giant made Zag and Mel popular enough that people are now doing stuff with them. XD
before hand I think you hardly ever heard of them ever now their in blood of Zeus XD
Hello, just recently learned that this server was a thing. Transistor was my first Supergiant game, and I love it to this day and usually play through it once a year or so (might actually do that soon...). Picked up Hades a while back due to a combination of recommendations from friends and a love of Roguelikes/lites and was certainly not disappointed. And now I've spent the last few days playing almost nothing but Hades 2. I'm looking forward to seeing how the game develops through early access, and to whatever games might come after.
Hey everyone. I loved playing Hades when it came out a while back. When I saw that Hades II had released, I HAD to buy it. I decided to join to help provide feedback, as I know that player-input is always welcome for early-access games :)
I 100% (achievements) Hades 1 just the other day ❤️ so happy
Now its time to hit || 32 heat || and farm up the last bits of the cosmetics
Thanks for the invite, glad to join the community. I love Hades 1&2 and would die for a Transistor 2!!
I just joined the server through the game, I’m happy to be here! My run of hades 2 is going great and I loved the first hades so much that I can’t wait to see more of what’s to come with this game
HADES 2 IS AWESOME
@dense hawk Is there a good press email for Supergiant? Am working on a story about Early Access and would love to include a quote or two from the team
you can contact them through here: https://www.supergiantgames.com/contact/
BTW you have to DM modmail, not tag it
Forgive my newbishness! And I did try that contact form—it may have gone into the void, but I'll sit tight and see.
its all good, i also barely know how it works
Been playing supergiant games since Bastion; started Hades 2 recently and got a surprise build that managed to beat ||Chronos||. Went from barely reaching him to trouncing without using any death deviances 😛
But everything changed when the fire nation attacked
But then everything changed when the spinny golden bayblade attacked
If Supergiant games were going to make a crossover game with characters/settings from Bastion, Transistor, Pyre, and Hades 1&2 what kind of game would you want?
sgg give me the zia/red crackship
supergiant kart
or a card game where Ron is OP as hell
ron as the death stranding protag
more like a death stranding package
holy hell
Card game could be cool, Either that or the overdone idea of a platform fighter a la Rivals or Smash?
Rpg might be a stretch but itd be amazing
First fave was Hades; immediately went backward through Supergiant's work & am now happily playing Hades 2
Bastion
Transistor B)
very cliche answer but Hades 1 (Hades 2 is a very close second because I’m still going through it rn)
oh boy am i enjoying 2 a LOOOOT
I got to know Supergiant through Hades but I just started playing Bastion and that is my fav atm
Hi guys,
I'm new to the industry and I'm just trying to learn how to animate a 2D character. I was hoping to get some insights from the developers who made Zagreus or Bastion walk/run animation. I hope this is the right forum.
My character animation for example, includes 16 directional sprite sheet assets with 22.5-degree steps. Despite doing my best, my animations look a bit clunky, and I'm trying to figure out how to make them smoother, so did I do something wrong or maybe I just need more sprites !?
I notices that the character movements you guys make are incredibly smooth. I know that you guys use 3D models to create animations and then converted them into sprites, but 3D modeling is out my skills, my current focus is on using pre-made sprites. I guess that is one of the roles on the pipeline, putting sprites together and that is what I'm trying to do and make it perfect like you guys do. I don't expect you guys to disclose the secrets behind the scenes of course 🙂 just to point the way like yes you need more sprites, or maybe just share that maybe my technique is wrong and I have to revisit it from the basics, or ideally you need this set of sprites in order to make a smooth character walk animation
Thanks so much in advance 🙏
Oh oh oh I wanna put in my guess as a layperson. My guess is "slow in, slow out"
Supergiant platform fighter would go hard
Half of the characters would be from Hades though
(not a Supergiant dev, but I am in the gamedev industry and have worked with artists a fair bit)
Without actually seeing your current spritesheets, my guess is you may need "transition" frames (along the same lines as what Packrat mentioned). If you have a run/walk cycle, for maximum smoothness you also want a couple frames that only play at the start, and a couple that only play at the end.
This would let you have something like ABBBBBBC, where A is the intro, B is the cycle, and C is the outro, which is almost always smoother than jumping right into the run cycle.
If you watch Zag's movement carefully, you'll notice how when he stops running, he's still leaning forward as he comes to a stop, before easing back into his standing idle.
This video is for 3d, but the same concept applies to 2d: https://youtu.be/s0O1LiaqTg8?si=pfXbSXRRczWkYLMD

Thanks I will have a look 🙏 I think I understand what you mean and if I got it right I guess I need better sprites. In the meantime please have a look at my animation and some of the sprites I'm using.

My layperson eyes (which have seen lots of runners during my cross-country years plus some videos about animation principles) are seeing the following:
lack of transition between resting pose and run or attack;
very linear timing (rather than naturalistic accel+decel);
floatiness from slow animation speed coupled with slow movement speed;
limbs not quite moving along arcs (our eyes love seeing motion along arcs);
character stands slightly too proud while running (maybe too much lordosis of lower back, maybe chest puffed out)
That's a great demo, clearly showcases what you have!
Some transition frames will definitely help going from idle to run, but your cycles already change direction well. Packrat caught some other good points for the run cycle—you generally want the head, and by extension the rest of the body, to bob up and down (see attached image for an example). You've got a good start on it for sure, it would just benefit from more motion within the cycles
Something that might help for your attacks—right now, you're playing the animations "in place", which means any footwork looks like the character is sliding around. Especially for something like a kick, you may want to experiment with animating the full motion, so the character appears to move forward and then settle back.
As an example, watch how Zag moves when doing an attack sequence with the Sword or Fists. Some of it is actually moving forward, but some of it is motion just within the animation.
I see... that make sense, this is more complicated than what I though but I can do it. Thank you so much guys 🙏 ✅ If you guys have any sprites that I can use that would be awesome, just for training purpose, because it will take me some time to draw all these transitions. Thanks again @outer zodiac @haughty crane
You're welcome, especially if you somehow got anything useful from my layperson perspective
I don't have anything on hand, but there are a lot of free animation packs you could find online to use as references. For keyframe and tweening references, I usually just Google "2d animation reference run cycle" and it will give loads of images like that last one, usually at a variety of run speeds depending on what I'd want
Best of luck!
I think we all know what we need now
A Smash bro's clone with all of Super Giants Characters :U
Dear SuperGiant Games, and/or anyone else who would like to read this!
I just wanted to write you guys a little note, saying how much I LOVE your Hades Franchise!
I just learnt about (Supergiant Games) a few days ago; starting with Hades 1 - I then went on to buy Hades 2!
I am absolutely OBSESSED with Hades 2. I love the new cast system with all the elements.
I also wanted to say that these games (Hades 1, and 2) are absolutely Beautiful, and you guys have done a very good Job!
I really look forward to beating everything in the game, and seeing where it goes.
I really hope this will be a game that you can play for a long time, because I will be so sad without it!
Thanks for Creating these games, they have changed my Life! ❤️ XO
SuperGiant Games has been my favorite game development company for a verrrrry long time. It started off with Bastion ❤️ Transistor then consumed my life. I couldn't shut up about that game and recommended it to everyone I knew whenever I could. tbh I STILL do lol I did unfortunately miss out on Pyre (life happened TT^TT) but then Hades entered my life and I honestly don't typically like Roguelike games but Hades was just so different. It was everything I ever wanted in a game. I put so many hours into it on so many different systems lol Hades 2 has now dominated my life as well. Its all I can think about and talk about.
I'm proven time and time again why Supergiant continues to be my favorite company. You can FEEL the love they put into their craft in every single detail. These games have truly changed the way I view games and how I interact with them. I want to play games that have love in them. I play games to escape and feel and Supergiant makes me FEEL amazing and its so easy for me to get lost in the stories and then the mechanics keep me focused and entertained.
Never stop doing what yall do. I'm thrilled to see how Hades 2 changes throughout early access and I'm excited for any and all future projects ❤️ Thank you for giving me an escape I so desperately need
Dear SuperGiant Games:
I had never heard of you until a few months ago. One of my kids got Hades on sale on the Switch, and I've now invested Factorio-tier amounts of time into it. And Hades 2 really cranked it up a notch—I may need to quit my job to play more. So thanks for that.
Heya, new to the server but not new to SuperGiant at all. Transistor was one of the first games I picked up when I got a new PS4 and I cannot even begin to tell you how much I fell in love with the game. The beautiful music, the intriguing story, the dynamic between a mute singer and her sword boyfriend, it was an amazing experience. Once I finished Transistor I looked more into SuperGiant Games and saw Bastion still need to play it and heard so much great things about Bastion as well. When Hades was announced I was beyond Hyped since I not only love their depiction of Greek Mythology but the roguelike/lite genre is one of my favorites. I'm excited to be along for the ride with the development of Hades 2 and see where y'all take it
supergiant games?
You are telling me these games take up a lot of space?
or are they games that are exclusively about giants that are super?
hey - they're called SuperGiant, not SuperBloated
Haha XD
I have an idea: SGG coloring books
Dusa has a gun?! Everyone hit the deck!
Hello! I am new and the rules said to introduce myself and my first SG game so im Weebers and I fell in love with Hades from the get go as one obsessed with greek mythos~ Nice to meet everyone!
oh forgot about that!!!!
anygays, I'm Pete, They/them or He/him, and the only SG game iv played so far is Hades :3
I very very much recommend the ones before it
go play pyre!
🫡
Bastion's core combat is the most similar to Hades vs SG's other IPs.
Roll & shoot roll & shoot!
Oh for sure i went and had to check out their whole catalog after!!! Tho ive only played transistor so far ill likely make way through bastion next to kill time until Hades 2~
Pyre looks neat as im a fan of VNs~
Hades was my first SuperGiant games title as well, and I LOVED it. Sunk so many hours into it, and am super excited for Hades 2! Planning on getting a Sisyphus/Bouldy tattoo to express my love for the game and one of my fav characters. I've been debating picking up their other titles on Steam as well to get the full SG experience
Should definitely try Bastion! It's a happy fun linear proto-Hades set in a wild west pioneering civilization
The characters are so squishy compared to all the following Supergiant Games characters
I had a dream that Zagreus had an identity crisis and slowly turned into Melinoe

my friend has been playing a lot of hades, i had a dream ares told him to turn of his record player (he doesnt have one)
The only video game dream I had was about mirrors edge
The first one
Years ago I had a dream that I was in that awesome under construction atrium level where you’re climbing up and I managed to get higher and on the roof and suddenly the whole city was open for me to explore and I was like “oh cool!”
And then catalyst came out and sadly made that dream a reality
And now I’m constantly cynical and bitter
You might be Lord Hades
Well I tend to deal with a lot of paperwork
Lots of things annoy me
And my dog has two extra heads for some reason
Huh
In that same dream there was a young Zagreus sneaking around with... cousins? And they talked about Hades and how scary he was and then Hades actually showed up. Zagreus hid behind a door because now he was scared of him, and Hades found him and was like "What are you doing there? Are you okay?" (being overall weirdly caring towards Zag)
I do love peoples reaction at the game awards when Hades 2 was revealed XD
People were almost having a stroke over it, a lot of people I watch seem like their brains were gonna blue screen over the mere idea that Super Giant was doing a sequel. XD
first game was hades 1 n i loved it was so happy to get into it finally my fav part of the hades games is all the goals it gives u to complete as im quite the complishionist
Fell in love with your soundtracks for a long time, My favorite game of yours is Hades 1 so far but I haven't been able to Purchase Hades 2 yet. I'm Really contemplating asking the art design team if it be allright if i got a tattoo of one of their god illustrations 😛
Note to self: make fan mock up pic of Zagreus in Olympus
So you know how Zagreus and Melinoë don’t wear shoes?
Maybe their feet are like hobbit feet
Adapted to rough terrain by having the soles of their feet being like leather
Just a theory
A lame theory
Hey Guys. So, I just got this game 3 days ago, and I've already beat it.
Do you guys know when new content is coming out?
I wonder if people are speedrunning it.
If anyone knows, let me know, cause I'd like to speedrun it also.
The speedrunning server link is pinned in #self-promotion
Oh I'm sorry. Thank you ❤️
No worries ^.^ Best of luck!
Just picked up Bastion, Pyre, and Transistor so now I own the entire Supergiant catalog. Still gonna be sinking a ton of time into Hades 2 early access but also super excited to play their earlier works and experience those games as well
Question, can you play the earlier games with a PS5 controller on Steam like you can with Hades 2?
Yeah. Even if it's not natively supported, Steam Input has gotcha
Hell yeah
i thought that the hells of hades kept their bare feet nice and clean
Wait what
Self-cleaning feet. Neat!
your hobbit foot theory im just giving you my theory
considering they both have flaming feet, they should be relatively clean haha
I wish you could set stuff on fire by stepping on it
guys I cant wait for hades 3
Hades 3D
no
wait
it would looks like dragon heroe quest heroes
not bad idea
but should be very well implemented
I would love to see Hades in third person
Hades 3 & Knuckles
featuring dante from the devil may cry series
Hades 3: into the hadesverse
Jokes aside, an Hades-like game set in Norse myth were you have to rescue Baldr from Helheim would be badass
seeing how kratos' switch from greek to norse went...
im happy with hades sticking just to greek mythos, thank you very much
yeah if hades has to end in 2 then so be it
I was more thinking about Jen Zee reinterpretations of characters from Dante's Inferno, that would be fun
(we study it pretty in detail in school in Italy so many of the characters are pretty memorable)
Of course there is a lot of crossover: Charon, the river Acheron, Cerberus, but even Ulysses/Odysseus
So mote it be
Why is Coral Crown locked on Musixmatch? I want to add lyrics so I can view them on spotify later
(also great job on the game ost as usual, top notch stuff)
on the supergiant merch thing, im just gonna throw out there im not that shock that its overpriced for what its made of because its SuperGroupies, who notoriously price all of their collabs like this
the jacket is really cool looking tho
the price for looking cool: buckets upon buckets of sweat
yep and being unable to wash it out completely
if it was not majority polyester man…. i would actually consider it
yeah...that's what i was thinking...200% polyester, no less
even just a non polyester inner lining would fix the problem of sweat staining or smell retention
Does anyone know if the merch (supergroupies) is limited time or around for long term?
Escape the Underworld in style with our new #Hades collab collection!
The watch, jacket, and backpack are inspired by Zagreus.

I donkt know if i like hades 1 or 2 more
Ahh okay, thank you! Was wondering if it will still be continued after preorder period
I'm good with those prices
Nah it‘s genuinely hard to integrate something like this into your outfit, both the color and the cut. Not made easier for 90% people who wear tshirts and jeans
Musterbrand my beloved… my epic Link parka with a giant stitched sword on the back probably looked really epic!!! (I didnt play zelda)
Artemis my beloved
i could make that im gonna be so real
this isn’t entirely hubris i also just developed my skill of looking at things and then constructing them from cosplay lol
i might bc it’s cute but i could hust make jt out of better fabric and not spend 5 million dollars
it is gorgeous though
i want it anyway
Yeah that merch is a lmaonope
I don't have 220 to drop on a coat that looks like Dr Eggman
Side note: I really wish more stuff had fan merch in racerback tanks and festival tanks 😭
a
200 for a polyster jacket + the bag is polyster as well is a big ask imo
polyster is literally toxic for your skin
the watch looks cool on its own though, bad idea to not sell it separately
i mean yeah but so is essentially every other synthetic product, the problem with this specifically is a. the enviorment (microplastics) and b. poly degrades very quickly so it wont last making it bad quality and c. it does not breathe at all it will be so hot lol
it's not toxic enough to do any real damage, if so essentially every modern garment wouldn't have it but there's a million other reasons why it sucks
it's pretty darn toxic since it's made from hardened petroleum, if you are ok with putting that all over yourself for a lower cost than something from actual cloth/wool then no one is going to stop you
when did i say i was 😭 i gave 4 other reasons why polyester is horrible girl
This sounds like throwing out the word "toxic" wantonly. I'd like to see some citations
yeahhh
Next we'll be hearing about how lemon juice is good for one's skin bluh bluh
it can be toxic but that's mostly due to it degrading and producing microplastics which can get into your skin and lungs rather than it being like. radioactive or whatever. you probably won't experience that many health problems from wearing a polyester jacket
Just to be clear, DO NOT slather yourself with citrus!
🍋
Slather yourself with pomegranates. Talking chest with teeth won't give bad advice.
pomegranates stains so bad
No pomegranates funny video crazy women yelling in class
Obligatory reply
theres honestly no other way to reply
lmao i have never seen this video before??
i read this and got actually scared
dont do that you will be actually cooked
But my vitamin c serum tho
thats so expensive oml

The new merch prices are insane lol they would feel less crazy if there were more low cost options but they think they're Supreme or something lol
i mean it’s a collab the prices arent up to sgg i think
Yeah but there just already isn't a lot of options on the fangamer store just wish there were more
Not to mention there's no Hades II stuff yet
Honestly I wouldn't expect any Hades II merch to exist until 1.0 launch at the earliest
Just visit your local park and get a frog
Best merch
And it’s free !
Hades 2 is already amazing, even in EA
I picked up Hades and loved it from day one! I actually finished the main story the day before Hades 2 released for Early Access

it‘s in the game
#h2-discussion message
suggestion from last night to add an omega emoji to make it easier to talk about omega moves
Until now I've gotten just about every Supergiant game a year after it came out, starting with Bastion. I've plumbed the depths on all of them, except Pyre (I'll get to it someday, but Hades II is front burner right now). Between my son and I we're about 175 runs into Hades II.
noice
so whens hades 3 coming out
Oh my goodness SGG used to be 7 people. Not quite super giant!
supergiant games
first game is literally about a little guy
need another supergiant concert soon 🙏
I tried the other games of SGG after Hades 1 and could not keep going. I feel like Hades is the sum of all their work and it's hard to go back to, say, Bastion with his system,
Hi does anyone know what behavior can change the outcome of fishing?
I'm trying to finish the codex using cloud save
Also I noticed save/load changes the list of temple Charon shop but cannot change diamond/blood
I'd suggest asking in #h2-discussion or #h1-discussion , depending on which game you're asking about
Hi ! I'm curently working on a video essay type of content about Hades and Hades 2, i wanted to know if i might get a copyright strike if i play a bit of "it's in the blood" or "good riddance" in my video ?
I think i'll be alright using the game OST as a background music for when i talk but i know sometimes music that include singing in video games have more strict rules surrounding them
Supergiant Games is a small independent game development studio in San Francisco, known for its award-winning titles Hades, Pyre, Transistor, and Bastion.
according to the linked policy, you should be fine @charred cedar
Oh great, thanks !
Hi, I've only just started playing hades 2 and has anyone else noticed how different Zeus and Poseidon look. They're faces seem wrong to me. I really like the battle armour and the change in hair for some. Demeter looks lots like her original design but I don't think Zeus and Poseidon look close to the original designs which I love.
I played Bastion YEARS ago but never finished it, remembered loving what I played so that was my real start until i played hades much much later, beat hades (the boss) then basically didn't come back until very recently but now i'm over 100 hours and have done pretty much everything in hades 1 and have done almost everything i can currently do in hades 2 lmfao, love these games now
Discovered it on gamepass (Hades 1) and then bought hades on steam and let the gamepass expire. Amazing game 10/10 good work devs! Cant wait for more Hades 2 content!
Hades was my first! I’m loving Hades 2.
I think the Hades 2 portraits are serviceable but prefer the stylisation of Hades 1's
Many have stated it, but Chaos' portrait is ill-fitting in my opinion. It looks too conventional. Chaos didn't even wear clothes in Hades 1
Once nudie forever nudie
Hi
for me I think of it as a point of evolution for chaos, and probably how much nyx being in their life changed them, and still holding their previous selfs skull
My first supergiant game was bastion which I played around the time it came out. Then a few years ago I got hades and got sucked into it, and is now one of my all time favorite games. I remeber thinking there were similarities between bastion and hades for a while before realizing they were made by the same people! been playing hades 2 for a little over a week now and am absolutely loving it
I played a little of Bastion and Transistor, have Pyre but haven't played much, and I've played a ton of Hades and the sequel.
Hi, hades recently was my first game from supergiant and its my favorite
is it the only one youve played?
Unless you count hades 2 yes
Bastion was my first SG game. Never participated in Early Access before but I couldn't wait.
Just got into Hades, I tried it on mobile via Netflix and enjoyed it so much I purchased it on Steam. I'll be putting many hours into it before I jump into Hades 2
Hades was my first game of Supergiant, though my brother had bought Transistor a while before it and I've been meaning to play it hehe
hades was the first i played before getting into transistor and now hades 2!!
I started with Bastion ages ago. I think I played Pyre next, then Hades, though the order of those gets a little fuzzy in my brain, I think I got them both around the same time. Transistor is a game I've had for a long time but really need to actually play, it's on the list for this year. Really enjoying Hades 2, it's my first EA experience
I started Pyre, the only one I haven't played yet, to try to wean myself off Hades II. Oof, I'm not sure about this basketball game gameplay...
The Rites? Passing a ball between three players to get it into the opposing team's circle? Why is it confusing to you that I likened it to basketball?
I could be wrong, but I don't think the basketball comparison was questioned. Just the dislike of the gameplay.
wyrm player knows where my heart lies
Oh, I'm sure it's well done, I just suspect it's not for me, since I've never liked either sports or strategy games. Then again, I don't usually like combat games either, but Supergiant made me obsessed with theirs!
if SG were to depart from the isometric style for their next game what kinda game would you like to see them make
Racing game!
rhythm
Metroidvania or horror (maybe both?)
that would be so funny and out of left field
space
farming simulator
I could see Supergiant really cooking with a farming sim 🤔
Platform fighter
I would put so many hours into a rhythm game with Darren Korb's music 😍
space
hullo :0
Yk what
I decided I'm gonna work for supergiant one day
Mark my words I'm serious!!
What if they shear you to turn your wool into merch though
One day!!
Persephone Pharming
Not my llama wool!!!
So soft! So fluffy
When my webcomic get famous, I might ask to SuperGiant for a game aboit it
I need a photo of it
they don’t make games based off of media really
they just do whatever interests them
but who knows i guess
What is your comic about?
A supernatural one about a guy who discover his past, present and future in a legend about two wolves leading the souls to their final rest.
heyo! is it possible to visit the studio in sf? friend and i sent an email a while back (both of us r high schoolers and r working on our own stuff, was interested in learning more about the dialogue code from the games)
asking here bc its been a while w/o any response
They recently posted a studio tour, which might answer some of your questions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_KHZW_1IKA
I can't answer is any official capacity, but my personal guess is they're mostly focused on development and aren't doing many studio visits?
I believe some of the Hades 1 dev videos talked about their dialogue systems, I don't remember anything specific though
Studio director Amir Rao gave us an office tour while visiting Supergiant Games for our Hades II cover story trip. Enjoy this behind-the-scenes look at the studio that previously brought you Bastion, Transistor, Pyre, and Hades!

yeah! we saw this and realized they were in sf, which is why we asked :>
there is the noclip documentary series that may contain answers to the things you seek, however I am not 100% certain of this
Playlist of the no clip documentary - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzyE9hi912c&list=PLkZVccrfM8AHHeqv4dITnwiMOeAmrAPZU&index=1
It contains a hint about which food you need to bribe them with!

ahhh we also just wanted to visit to see what a game studio is like :<, if its impossible then thats ok i suppose
Hello
Could you add game controller buttons to the server? so its easier to discuss controller controls. eg:

(I made these from a screenshot in photoshop, as I couldnt figure out how to get the icons from the game 😭 )
Different controllers have different buttons and some people play mouse and keyboard too. It'd get confusing
Hi all, the bot asked me to share my first Supergiant game. I started with Bastion way back in the day; loved it. Had several of the games songs as ringtones for several years back when buying ringtones was a thing people thought about doing
Hi all! I’ve been a big fan of Supergiant Games from pretty early on. I think I knew of Bastion and had friends recommend it but hadn’t played it until after playing Transistor. Because i loved that game so much I went back and played Bastion as well, loved that, eventually playing both Pyre and Hades when they came out. I’m replaying Hades now because I never wound up beating it. Looking forward to that and to trying Hades 2!
Hey Supergiant and fans! I started with Hades 1 and am now loving 2! Excited to see how early access develops and changes as we inch closer to the final polished product 💜
I didnt realize how much Avalon Penrose was going for a meg sound from disney hercules until now
Bastion was the first indie game I ever played back in highschool (2011), it was the first game that made me realise just how imaginative video game stories and worlds could be. And over the years I’ve grown to not only appreciate Bastion more but every single other Supergiant title I always find something new to appreciate. These games are full of passion and hard work from devs that truly care for the players. I’m not exaggerating when I say that too! To the Supergiant team, thanks for all the fond memories you’ve given me and to everyone else too ❤️
i played the first hades back in highschool and it was my first big game on my new switch at that time AND MAN WAS IT FUN GAHH I LOVE THE ART EVEN TO NOW AND THE IMPROVEMENTS IN EVEN THE CHCARCTERS FROM HADES 1 TO NOW IS AMAZING AND I LOVE EVERY BIT OF IT and im glad to be playing hades 2 now im going thru some tought times in life rn and hades 2 is one of the games i look forward to play after a tyring day - ( p.s my bow and staff i have irl is named zagreus and melinoe inspired by both the games and the mythology because my last name is kore like their mothers name )
When I was in high school, I still watched a certain content creator's videos on Youtube. And this creator, who liked to test a lot of games, one day tested Hades. I saw it and immediately thought it was a great game, and after I bought it, I spent so much time on it! It also introduced me to the world of independent games, and to a type of gameplay that I immediately fell in love with. What's more, the music is incredible, the art direction is magnificent and the gameplay is perfect. And so, as I discover Hades II, I realize that the Supergiant team always puts so much effort into their games.
And for that, a big thank you to the Supergiant team.
Hades 2 is actually good. A very thought-out rougelite. Love the animations... very smooth.
hades was a game i could actually never stop playing and while i think its an amazing game i think hades 2 really has taken my heart. the story thusfar has kept me in my head wanting for more always and i really cant wait to see what supergiant has in store for us as players<3
minus a minor rough spot with getting than to appear in runs so I could move forward with maxing out character affection ratings, I had nothing but absolute praise and enjoyment with the character work, art-style, musical presentation and phenomenal gameplay. this game was everything I though I could want in a game based loosely in Greek and Chthonic mythos. Then I found out I was wrong when hades two dropped into early access! these are the only games from supergiant that I have played, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't very curious how the other might play after experiencing what I would consider 10 out of 10's. I'm absolutely here for the long haul and being a patient as I can muster for more story and game-play to be introduced/released.
TL;DR: Hades one was super fun and pretty. good vibes. Hades 2 said "hold my nectar" and I said "shut up and take my money".
Jen Zee storybook when
I love Hades II! I had to go and start a new game in Hades after playing
Yo, what's the highest hypothetical fear in Hades 2?
Can't find the answer to this question online and I already shut off my computer and I'm in bed right now
best place for hades 2 questions like that are #h2-discussion
but to answer your question ||currently its 55||
The highest fear in hades?
Well it’s the fear the game is gonna suck, isn’t it?

Don’t worry it’s not gonna suck
It’s already amazing!
Hellaur
Does anyone know if the merch in #announcements is gonna be available for long
Yeah it’s a limited preorder for the next week or two but then I think it stops
I think it was available till the 15th or 16th but not 100% sure
They used to be a house office out of a suburby area, I think!
4 of them rooming together while working/interning for EA; truly inspiring since nothing has changed almost 20 years later
Oh my word that was so loooong agoooooo help!
@heavy geyser please don't evade the swear filter thanks
When you want to cosplay multiple supergiant game characters but the character design is so complex and you don’t have a 3d printer so your basically screwed 💔😔
I want to cosplay Red and Melinoe so bad 💔
Red's outfit seems doable for a good seamstress
I can hand sew but for the life of me I can’t understand sewing machines
Melinoe is possible but I don’t have any foam templates available
hello bros and dudets just started HADES II and gosh amazing
is there anyway to heal oer defeat the witch
Hello. You might get help more quickly in #h2-discussion
I just beat animal well and saw that Greg kasavin and Amir rao are in the special thanks section of the credits! Does anyone know if they had something to do with the game? It was great!!!
could possibly be something minor like playtesting? seems like they’ve both done that a fair bit before
TIL Amir playtested for Tunic, and Greg worked on Spec Ops: The Line
they get around

Greg worked on Spec Ops: The Line
I KNEW IT!
so THAT'S why spec ops story loops!
well kinda, anyway
Hi all. New to the discord. Joined after giving Hades 2 a try. I have played every single Supergiant game and am a huge fan
Zagreus can cuss but I can’t
Ahoy hoy, my favorite game has to be Hades! ...for now!?
Loving the early access so far.
While I love transistor, Hades was and still is a groundbreaking game that, I daresay, changed the way people tell stories in gaming. Masterpiece
hello
korb-ception when spotify puts on transistor ost while grinding hades ii
Huh? What's that? Cyberpunk roguelite by SGG?
almond
I think that #h2-feedback is the channel for this?
Ohh I couldve sworn I was in that channel, my apologies
No worries! ✨
So many spoilers
Hello! Came for both Hadeses, but I own Bastion and Transistor and want to get into both of them too ^^

I loved hades and played it a ton. But hades 2 has got me way more addicted. Super hyped for updates!
Hello there, i don't know where i can ask this but, did Supergiant Games have any politics about moding their game ? ( Actualy Hadès II ) Thank you !
Heyo! For modding, please check out the modding server (link pinned in #self-promotion )
Discussion of mods in this server is discouraged, but there's plenty of community over there for it ^.^
Thanks !
Just started playing Hades a few days ago, am really loving it to bits
Still thinking about whether or not I’d like to play the second game tbh
If your enjoying the first game youll probably already love the second one, its already really good in early access
I recently started playing Hades, and fell in love with the game, espescially its lore and characters ❤️
Why does Supergiant hate Android so much?
I know that the team only has experience with IOS, but it's not very difficult to find a team to port (like Playdigious for example)
Dead Cells, for example, was ported a long time ago when the game wasn't everything that Hades is today (and MANY other games that are more difficult to port and less popular too)
I'm sure money is no problem
I believe it has nothing to do with Supergiant's opinion of android as a platform but a matter of support
what type of support?
I don't know for certain but I can imagine technical support is the largest one
since supergiant is mainly focusing on Hades 2 right now
This is the work of whoever was responsible for the port, and it's not very difficult to find a team, as I said
It's definitely an opinion, they have had very high feedback for a long time from players wanting this game for Android
please note: I am only a volentary discord moderator for this server and not an employee of supergiant
so I don't have any real answers to your questions
Yes, that's why I'm waiting for someone, I don't know where else I could report this
your best bet is to use the 'contact us' form on the supergiant website
you're incredibly unlikely to get a dev response here
I'll probably receive an automatic message from someone else who also doesn't know much about it, but ok
You'd be surprised, supergiant does usually read their emails/msgs (from what i've heard)
yup
first Supergiant game was Bastion, picked it up in a humble bundle and have been playing every game the second it was available ever since. also remember leaving a comment on their fb back in the day gushing about Bastion and they responded, had a mini fanboy moment, and realized how special this dev team really is
After 25 hours I'm baffled how similar yet vastly different Hades 2 is. It has the same fundamental gameplay loop but feels so so much different. And the same artstyle and storytelling that once portrayed joy and triumph is now portraying hopelessness and sorrow. I can't think of a better way to make a sequel to a game like Hades. I didn't even think it was possible for a sequel to be this perfect.
i've only played 2 hours and a half
cause my computer is too weak to play it
i have 5th gen intel hd graphics
😦
😦
so i played it on my sister's computer
i love hades too
and it runs like crap on my computer
but it's playable...
check out #h2-tech-fixes message other than setting the game graphics to low, something here might help
Hello!
I’m new in the community of Hades…
💀 The funny part is that I bought Hades 1 and 2 without a PC yet (big brain move).
And sorry for my english. Is not my first language.
Hello! I played Hades (after Jim Stephanie Sterling recommended it) and when I heard Hades II was coming out I wishlisted it immediately. Really enjoying the early access version so far
me too
...
🙂
😦
i'm going to kill time
😦
😠
CRONOS
btw i love the game
@vapid mirage Heyo-- || please tag spoilers outside of the appropriate channels ||
My poor eyes! My eyes!
Hello
Hello, small Korean doggo

Publishers. Can we have a bundle which only contains games from Supergiant please?
I mean one excluding soundtracks
just got back into hades and now one of my fav games
Hey Supergiant games, you made Hades II so amazing that I dreamt about the game during my surgery and narcosis. So thank you!
i hope you dreamt about the good stuff like the art or music
and not the - you know
the constant dying thing
I dreamt about fighting|| Cerberus in the Fields of Mourning||, but then in a very positive way

@slow hull Heyo -- || please tag spoilers outside of the appropriate channels ||
Woops sorry
Hope you're recovering well
Yes, I am. So far there has been little pain :)
Will there be multiplayer co op for Hades 2 ?
Unlikely, but there’s no way to be certain as of now.
As stated in #hades2-faq hades 2 is being developed with a single player experience in mind and thus no multiplayer is planned
Sounds like pure chaos
@SuperGiant folk, I just wanted to say you guys have a lot of fans over at FuturLab (our best known game is PowerWash Simulator). We're hugely impressed by your games, combined talent and just culture in general! 🤩✨
On a more personal note, I've just finished re-watching all your noclip documentaries in chronological order and they always fill me with so much damn passion for indie studio culture! 🥹 I'm hoping you've been able to work with the noclip team again to showcase the development of Hades II at a later date, and look forward to it if so! 🤞
Keep up the phenomenal work guys!
👏
Where is the sad reaction :"(
I would like Hades 2 co-op, but only with Friendly Fire enabled
why are you emphasising the friendly fire
Because with the way Hades gameplay works, co-op would be chaotic anyway. Unless it was very asymmetric co-op, maybe
oh I see
Friendly fire would make things wonderfully terrible like Magicka's co-op, you see
co-op would be really chaotic
I see indeed
Can't wait to hit my friend with a 2000 crit
what's friendly fire?
All this talk reminds me of the early kf1 days where the only way of testing if friendly fire was on was just…
Doming your buddy with a 12 gauge
It’s when you set your friend of fire with a bunch of hestia boons
More literally, it's dealing damage to someone on your team (it's a real-life term for something that happens in gunfights, and it was adapted for video game usage)
I take it more literally
I just set my friends on fire

I don’t have many left…
Gee you can’t even tell I used to play a lot of firebug in kf, can you?
That makes sense
Hades 1 ($10), Bastion ($3), Transistor ($4) and Pyre ($4) are all on sale on Steam along with their soundtracks btw
If only their merch would restock on pyre and bastion tho 😔😔
Hello, does anyone has any recommendation regarding where I could learn more about Lua? I have already downloaded the official book version on the Lua's site, but I wish to know more about other sources that I could tried to use to learn it. I have become interested in Lua because SG used it on Hades 2 and I am trying to learn more about programming in general.
Tabletop Simulator has Lua scripting integrated, that could be a good way to practice
Thanks, I will be looking out for stuff about it.
nothing like a darren korb soundtracks to help with hours of unpacking and cleaning
that'd be great
hellllo
Why does the Ashley Barrett sound so amazing with just a touch of reverb
saw on insta that she, darren korb, and austin wintory are in london rn so mayhaps more of that is in our future
An Austin Wintory!
Oh, would you look at that
Mel’s getting a Nendo figure, ain’t that cute
ohhh shes so cute
I hope they make a non-nenderoid one at some point, that one still looks cool though
the popup parade zag is so cute too...
all of my figures are still in boxes bc i moved... 3 months ago LOL
Yeah I think that’s the one I have
lazy of me
A pop up parade melinoe would be really cool at some point
Fr, they’re all really good
I’m running out of space in my room to keep my SGG merch lol
I neeed a Mel PopUp parade :’) But now my tiny hopes for Meg and Than as PopUp parades are basically dead 😭
a || scylla || figure would also kinda be awesome
Missed opportunity for sometime after 1.0 releases and that doesn’t happen
I would buy a proper ||Scylla and the Sirens Concert Poster|| DAY ONE
will come hades2 emotes stickers for discord ?
we have a few so im sure there will be more

This is giving me fanart ideas
thanks to the wonders of steam summer sale i was finally able to get bastion, transistor and pyre
wish me luck

i wonder how expensive it is
and how difficult it is to take care of
you know - watering cause its... sideways
fixing
all that stuff
I wonder if we'll get a music one soon
when i was looking at moss walls, they were like 200€ per square meter, depending on quality etc. normally they don't need to be watered though.
moss walls are a thing now, you can google it
They're pretty low maintenance from what I know
Like the most low maintenance plant you can have
Like so low maintenance, that people who kill cacti can likely own and sustain moss
Like ™️
well alright
challenge accepted
I wonder whether it freshens up the air at all
probably more than a house plant
just my guess
considering how efficient algae are
Moss walls.... time to replace every single wall in my house
I love Supergiant Games
did you check out the fixes here? #h1-tech-fixes message
Dude, I tried what was written. It didn't work or I couldn't do it. please help me
you can try sending a message in #h1-tech-support , or #h2-tech-support if this is about h2
When achievements will be added in steam?
achievements were added in h1's full release, i am assuming the same will go for h2
new update
are the other supergiant, non hades, games any good?
Speaking on behalf of Transistor: absolutely.
It's such a gorgeous & interesting game!
nice will look into it. 😄
Yeah heavily recommend at least trying all the games, because they all have the same level of polish as hades
Pyre isn’t for everyone though (as much as I love it)
its definitely worth a try 😄
Bastion is a linear proto-Hades with a very involved narrator
Also the only game in which the characters were smol and cute
Then SGG was like "make them hotter! MAKE THEM HOTTER!" (probably)
Is probably all Greg Kasavin's fault
I adore all of them. Some are a bit more experimental with their gameplay so it's hard to tell if that'll be your thing, but storytelling is consistently awesome
oh no this is jen’s fault that they’re all hot
jen “i love drawing hot girls i got this” zee
yes
She's obviously complicit, but it's probably ultimately the narrative lead's decision
Or maybe it is entirely Jen Zee's fault. Also, can I just note how weird it feels to say "Jen" sans "Zee"?
wrong channel mate
In your dream, did you get thrown into The Pit?
can anyone link a high quality image of just the portrait that i can use as pfp?
without the purple background n all
im sure its on the wiki
https://hades.fandom.com/wiki/File:Hades'_Aid_I.png
not on any pages rn, interesting
great thank you very much
I’m saving this
Gonna make a nice reaction pic
Or it could make for one cool emote

a month and no response
you’re not entitled to anything from them
they’re an indie studio focused on making a game, one person going “please port to my phone” isn’t top of their priority
Ya gotta bribe 'em! I heard they like dim sum 👀
especially when they're already fully focusing on hades 2 rn
Am I… in the right place
I got a friend request on Facebook from "supergiant games", I'm assuming it's not real
The handle is supergiant.games.2024
I did too, I accepted it to try to mess with them
Already got the "hi" message from them lol
Gonna see where it goes then report them
"Do you know who is chatting you?"
Strong start
Oh woooow I've won
- Mystery Box
- Macbook pro
- Membership card
- 2 Black and white
Hoodie - 2 limited edition stickers

Ok, theyre asking for my address and stuff, went ahead and reported them, if anyone here that still has Facebook could go do the same that would be great. Let's not let these jerks scam people
I used to joke that SGGs are giving away awesome free games with their Darren korb albums
Looks like now they’re giving away free macbooks too!

Next time give them a number to a call center you really hate
Preferably the one with an AI bot
worth it for the hoodies
@hasty drift real
Should I trade my identity for some sick supergiant merch is the real question. It's definitely tempting
What is the best game that isn't Hades by supergiant?
theyre all amazing but transistor is probably the second most popular
That depends on what you like to play. I'm a big supporter of Transistor since it was my first SGG game. It's beautiful and you wouldn't even guess it's 10 years old
I would look into all of them and decide based on your preferences, but they are all super good
I liked every one I've played (
,
,
), but Bastion is special for being my first SGG game
For someone who doesn't normally like these types of games but Hades was an exception because of its art style, music, voice acting, combat, and story most importantly (I really like Greek mythology) which one would ne best to try ?
Pyre
Oh that was for the first msg lol
None of the non hades games are roguelikes first of all
Depends on what you liked more from it I'd say
If you like how the writing develops through the runs/story go for Pyre
Mix-matching abilities transistor has it best
Bastion's narrator working along the game is so good in general
Tho my real answer is just play them in release order so you can pinpoint what made it over to hades
pyre full stop
Whoops I just downloaded transitor
oh cool!!!
have fun
transistor is my favorite non hades have so much fun
i liked it enough to make a character who cant even talk my personality
No offense but so far it's really boring and slow
its a different type of game
yeah its not hades 3 lol
for me its really about immersing myself in the world and the art and the soundtrack and the story
which is what i really liked about hades and all the sgg games anyway
Transistor feels like RTWP kinda sorta
I may just like Hades in that case, I really enjoyed the music, story, combat, dieing and progressing, and art style. I love Greek mythology and the voice acting and vibe of the game just kept making me come back for more.
Now that I am playing transistor though I realize combat is really important for an enjoyable gameplay loop and so far this combat is like watching paint dry and dosnt feel as skillful as Hades. I'm sorry, I really wanted to like this. Unfortunately no refunds on Playstation rip
dont apologize for not liking something lmao?
Even my girlfriend that dosnt normally like combat games and plays games like stardew and spirt fare isn't enjoying this and says it is boring which is surprising since she likes slower pace games
Music and art style 10/10 tho. Love the cyberpunk theme
i vehemently disagree with it being boring but i guess its differing tastes and opinions
stardew is a combat game against my mental health
stardew stressful as hell
transistor is basically my foray into playing games (as opposed to watching playthrougs)
it has a special place in my heart
It's feels like it is designed around doing the turn based and since I hate turn based I have been trying to just do it without it and that might be why the combat feels slugsih
Rip I didn't even play bulders gate because it's turn based. Wish i could gift my copy
Baldur's Gate would be extremely hard to play without turn-based. Oh my word the complexity
i mean you can play transistor (mostly) without turn
i think the only required use is the tutorial teaching you about it
It's much harder without it though
the gameplay of transistor is kinda obtuse to use, and maybe the weakest supergaint has, but it makes up for it completely through it's music, art and writing. In those respects it's flat out one of the best games ther is
I think even the gameplay is completely up to opinion, I personally find it super fun and strategic
I had to buy myself a 1TB SD card since their games are super giant
how do I contact someone from supergiant? someone on Facebook is pretending to be them
hey, you can contact them here https://www.supergiantgames.com/contact/
thank you
Just abuse stealth mechanics and shoot mobs to death without starting combat
Greater Invisibility megastealth build
late but i recommend you stick with it 😉 battles get more intricate and the soundtrack is beautiful
Rogue ftw 💪
i saw a lot of people talking about curse of the dead gods back in the day
A bunch of them actually. Ruiner, Death's Door and There Is No Light are great games. You could also add Furi and Eldest Souls if you are into boss-rush genre.
hades 2
Haven't played it yet, I kinda want it to be done and polished before I touch it
I saw the reply and thought you were replying to someone advocating for pirating Hades 2 ha!
That would've been unfortunate
I know a game that is basically a Hades like
Or hades clone
I think it’s called Realm of Ink
