@here Hades II Development Update! Back when we first revealed Hades II at The Game Awards in 2022, we said to expect more info on our Early Access plans in 2023. It's time we shed some light on those plans!

We now can confirm we're planning for Hades II to launch in Early Access in Q2 2024 on Steam and the Epic Games Store. We'll have more details on the exact date, pricing, and system requirements closer to that time.

Thank you for your patience as we gear up for this launch! You may be wondering, why can't we launch in Early Access, like, right now?! The game looked pretty far along in the first trailer! The reason is, Hades II will have at least as much content from day one in Early Access as the original game did back when it launched in Early Access on Steam. And, even though Early Access inherently means a game is not yet complete, we still want to do everything we can to make sure Hades II is worth your while as soon as you can play it in any capacity.

We're getting close to launching Hades II in Early Access! As noted in our latest Development Update, a key step prior to that is our Hades II Technical Test, which we plan to begin shortly.

We are using Steam Playtest to run the Hades II Technical Test. If you'd like to be considered for participation, you can sign up right now simply by heading to the Hades II Steam page, and clicking the button marked 'Request Access': https://store.steampowered.com/app/1145350/Hades_II/

The Technical Test contains much less content than what's in store for the Early Access launch, and may be available only to a relatively small subset of players who express interest in participating. We have more information about the Technical Test on Steam and on our web site.

Note: Please do not request keys to the Technical Test on this server. As the purpose of the Technical Test is to test the game with a relatively small audience to ensure we're ready to launch in Early Access, we may not be able to honor individual requests to participate. We will do our best to conduct the Technical Test as expeditiously as possible, then launch in Early Access, at which point the game will be available for anyone to purchase and play.

Hey, we wanted to let you know Hades is currently on sale for $14.99 after discounts on the Epic Games store. Folks can pick it up at www.PlayHades.com. We think there's never been a better time to experience our rogue-like dungeon crawler!

The game's retail price is now $24.99, up from $19.99 at launch, based on continued improvements and additions we've made so far in Early Access, including: an entire new biome, 7 new fully voiced characters including 4 new bosses, hundreds of new fully voiced narrative events, 10 new enemy types, a new weapon, and dozens of new powers and abilities.

All told, we think this new price point reflects the game's current value in Early Access. As we expect to continue in Early Access until sometime next year, it's possible we adjust the price again by the time Early Access is complete. We'll strive to provide plenty of advance notice if that happens. Thank you for your support of this game!

Hey again everyone. Earlier today, Hades became available at a significant discount as part of the Epic Mega Sale on the Epic Games store. We communicated poorly in the hours that followed, and want to clear things up.

The retail price of Hades is now back to $19.99, our original launch price. With the Epic Discount, you can get the game for $10 off that price right now, through to the end of the sale on June 13.

After the sale is over, on June 14, we will be raising the game's retail price to $24.99. We had intended to raise the retail price of the game soon, but made the decision rashly as part of the sale -- we didn't provide advance notice to our customers, despite previously stating we would do so. That was our mistake, and we sincerely apologize. To all our players, thank you for your patience and understanding around this.

• Hades Beta Testers: We'd also like to thank our community beta testers, and you'll see some of their names along with our moderators in the in-game credits in our next update. Our beta testers help us evaluate each major update shortly before launch. We've kept this process under wraps since we want for the contents of our updates to be an exciting surprise. So, we have a couple of requests:

1) Please don't ask to be a beta tester. There is no application process, and we hand-pick our beta testers from contributors to #hades-feedback and #h1-builds-and-combat.

2) Please don't ask beta testers to divulge any info, or otherwise treat them differently. We want our updates to be a surprise. We expect beta testers to not discuss the contents of updates or their work as beta testers.

1. We wanted to let you know we've just launched a Hades Test Branch for Steam and the Epic Games Store, where we will be testing various fixes and improvements before they make their way into our official patches. Please note this is intended for the short run, to help us address any final issues from our v1.0 launch; it should not be taken as an indication of ongoing content updates, as we have no such plans at this time.

2. Having concluded our Early Access development and launched v1.0 of the game, we will soon be closing our #hades-feedback channel. We will be locking and archiving this channel at around 5pm PST this Friday, October 2. Until then, we welcome you to leave any parting feedback about the game or even the feedback-giving process itself. From our standpoint, this channel proved to be a vital part of our Early Access development process.

After the channel is closed, of course you're still welcome to continue discussing the game in other channels, or discussing the latest changes in the test branch.

We wanted to share a brief development update regarding Cross-Saves for Hades for Nintendo Switch: We're still actively working on this feature, trying to get the important details of it right. The nature of the work means we currently don't have an ETA for when it will be done. We will keep you posted as we make further progress.

We want to acknowledge that, while we had no official date announcement for the feature, in some past cases on social media or forums or here, we said we anticipated an end-of-October release. This estimation was incorrect, and we apologize; we try never to give release dates until we're sure we can hit them, though spoke too soon around this. This feature is for players who happen to have the game both on Nintendo Switch and either Steam or Epic Games Store. It lets you transfer your save progress to and from Nintendo Switch.

Hades Discussion
Full spoilers are now allowed in #h1-discussion. While it's never bad etiquette to spoiler tag juicy details, all Hades content discussion is now allowed freely in the Hades Discussion section. We encourage using the Builds & Combat and Story Discussion sections as well if you would like to dive deeper into detailed discussions.

Hades for New Players
The #h1-for-new-players channel is remaining spoiler-free. Spoilers are considered to be any content that is locked away until you have completed your first run through the Underworld successfully. We understand that players benefit from discussing the final boss here - please continue to spoiler tag content around the final boss when you do.

Hades Story Discussion
This channel used to be "hades-story-spoilers,' and full spoilers are now allowed in this channel. Now that the Hades Discussion, Combat & Builds, and Story Discussion all allow spoilers, there's no reason to specify! It is being renamed to #hades-story-discussion.
