For Elysia you missed Hi Love Elf and HoHe's stellar key, which is necessary for her to work in astral ring teams.
In general you missed a complete overhaul of how teambuilding works which has made all old valks functionally useless and which will basically require you to start from scratch again.

Astral Ring and Specializations

Allow me to explain, Captain!

Characters under the Astral Ring System will have one ring type (Specialization), and one or multiple tags (Attributes) that will determine how they can form teams. This system is only activated if a Character with Astral Ring is set as the leader. When activated:

• the leader's ring type will decide the team's playstyle.
• the team will benefit from effects (e.g., Stigmata buffs) that require Astral Ring.
• the team will gain access to Stellar Outburst, a high damage output state you can enter after charging enough energy (Astral Ring Intensity).

To make old valks work in P2 teams they have given a few of them stellar keys which makes them work in those teams. At this point these can only be gotten from the gacha.

If story is all you care about you basically need nothing gacha related for that. Early story is clearable with non meta valks. Later story is handled with forced trial valks.
Events also provide trials too.

If you still have interest in keeping up with abyss, then one consideration is to start a fresh account to reset your one time crystals, and regain starter event so you can reallocate your crystals and jump start into the meta more easily.
If you want to stick with your older account, that's possible too. It'll just take more time. Pick up where you left off and use what you have the best you can without spending anything valuable. Save up for the next new gacha releases. Getting back into the meta isn't really about catching up all the things you missed but rather keeping up with most new things while letting older things fall off the meta until you slip back into the groove of things. Becoming meta esp as f2p or light budget in this game is a long term process. Don't expect any immediate results.

Next patch in particular has ||no new valks apparently. Instead we will have a new stellar key for a old farmable valk (silverwing bronya) from war treasury shop, making it easier to afford (~17k crystal costs at worst). Additionally there will be a free Senadina from clearing enough events. She and SW are compatible with each other's teams.||

HoHE is farmable now really but yeah understandable. It's not for everyone.

My favorite characters are Seele(?), the bunny from the Samsara, and Elysia. Bronya is pretty good but that's sometimes just her proximity to Seele. I like button mashing and easy set ups but I don't mind skill. I definitely just want to budget my way through right now as a hobby thing. I gave up gacha for a while and I need to reconnect!

Being meta in hi3 means picking up most of the upcoming newer releases. You aren't really going to be too picky about things (you do expect to skip a full patch new release every once in a few patches on average).

But meta doesn't have to be everything. If you want to focus on specific characters especially reruns at the opportunity cost of new release, we can consider that as long as you're aware you're getting less meta mileage this way for the long term.

As far as Seele goes, what we have so far is a stellar key (gacha rerun only) for herrscher of rebirth (only available currently in reserve work battle pass shop but maybe she'll be more farmable in the future).
In the pins of #🔮cn-gameplay-discussion ||there does seem to be a teaser for a new seele though but nothing strongly confirmed yet||

Bunny from samsara sounds like Yae Sakura (actually fox ears afaik). She doesn't have a battlesuit with astral ring properties yet. All her four current battlesuits are out of date but farmable if you just want to play/build her as a side project

btw valuable here would mainly refer to crystals, source prisms, honkai shards (thus AE imaginons), and possibly PRI ARM materials if you're low (or anything else you feel low on really). The idea is you don't really want to spend materials on a non-meta unimportant valk if it's going to bottleneck progress on a meta one you plan to pick up soon.

Elysia has 3 battlesuits. There's also an ELF of her.

Miss Pink Elf (MPE) is a physical dps with no astral ring mechanics at all. Her valk is farmable for War Treasury.
Her stigmatas are craftable G4 via the foundry
Her weapon is available exchange shop/reserve works shop (prob not the latter).
Her preferred supports Herrscher of Rebirth Seele (Impair inflicter. Can use HoS as a budget alternative), and Reign Solaris Durandal (RS is gacha only. Can use TA Prometheus if you need another affordable option)

if you need budget suggestions that are quicker and cheaper to get i can suggest other things too

HLE is gacha only currently. She's relatively recent and might rerun, but currently i see no news of this in #🔮cn-gameplay-discussion pins.

HoHE needs her stellar key for modern astral ring teams. She's been released for quite a while and has gone largely niche specific in use. But if you're playing the game focusing on elysia, you can still appreciate her decently for her general roles.

i already said earlier ever since the astral ring overhaul, the game has gone gacha only in releases. Naturally the meta favors the newest releases. It's been like this for almost two years at this point. So the idea of going without gacha is a bit of a stretch for keeping up with abyss, which is the main meta mode where a large amount of your regular crystals are from

but considering your personal focus, it's fine to disregard the meta more and miss out on crystal income since you're not going after everything you can. You can still aim for what you can partially are able to get while keeping your primary interests in the game in mind

as much as i understand that, i actually still tell other new players to not compare hi3 to newer hoyo games. While similarities do exist, there's still differences that can cause problems trying to transpose into this game

anyway if you do want to go no-gacha only, i can still attempt to give advice for that. Just beware astral ring stuff are kinda very separate from non-astral ring stuff. So my advice for using an HLE with no other gacha stuff will be very poor and restricted, whereas HoHE will just revert to her p1 self

The budget HLE team was VBm (farmable astral ring valk that works partially for any kind of astral ring leader), and Pardofelis RC (debuffs for any damage type, has a passive that buffs the team against frozen enemies at S rank which HLE can easily do)

but this will be a far cry from what HLE is actually capable of if you actually have compatible astral ring supports.

The general rule of thumb is really just focus on latest new valk and/or weapons only. (there's going to be a new ||gacha astral op next patch but those aren't recommended for developing players or those that are more f2p or even casual unless they really like the character)||

because again the idea is to keep up with the latest meta while letting the older meta fall off. After enough time and enough patches, all the stuff you missed will have fallen off while all the stuff you picked up are still meta

but this is purely speaking in terms of meta, which isn't everyone's cup of tea. I do think for you right now, it would be more fine to focus more on the elysias

a weapon at worst takes less than 17k crystals to full pity

a valk hard pity is now 90 pulls too or 25.2k crystals

if you put that together, the cost for a full valk with her signature weapon is roughly 40k (a bit more than that)

so for HLE and HoHE combined you're already looking at a 57k cost (maybe expecting bad luck across all three banners is exaggerated though)

Data suggests that it does exist (starting at 76 pulls), but it is not confirmed anywhere by HoYoverse so we can't be 100% sure.

Averages and Worst Cases (Valkyrie + All Gear)

• Part 1 vs 2 Average - 140 Pulls (40k ) vs 78 pulls (22k )
• Part 2 "Soft pity valk" + average wep 106 pulls (30k )
• Worst Case:
• Part 1 vs 2 Max - 300 pulls (84k ) vs 150 pulls (42k )

After getting the elysias, you would want matching astral ring supports for them. Luckily they do support each other, so you just really need one more support for each (ideally something overlapping as a new release).

iirc both elysias can play out their full attack kits with just one matching support for each of their playstyles but lacking the other matching support will prob still be a huge loss in damage. But anyway that's prob too much details for now

(basically saves you from spending 7 prisms normally to max upgrading a stig piece). I guess i would save this for one of your p2 elysias later after you're done rolling for her respective weapon

Free Stigmata Boxes

Hey, Captain!

In Honkai Impact 3rd Part 2, most new Valkyries will have a Stigma Option box given for free! But when should you use them?

If you are pulling for the corresponding weapon, you should open the box AFTER you have 2 different pieces of that stigmata set already. These stigma boxes are optimally used to finish a stigmata set. This also applies to Part 1 stigmata boxes, if you have any.

If you...

• Obtained the weapon before you got at least 2 stigmata set pieces, stop pulling! Open the box to get the best piece and then craft any missing stigmata (you can find these in Foundry).
• Already got the full stigmata set before the weapon (there are high chances that you did), keep the box as a collectible or open it, select a random stigma and salvage it for Source Prism.
• Are skipping or have skipped the corresponding weapon but want to get the Stigmata set, open the box first for the best piece then craft the other two via Foundry.
• Skipped the weapon and do not intend to craft the Stigmata set, you have no urgent reason to open the box, so keep it.

Regarding Bronya: N-EX, you can open the box once you own T or B and use it to finish TB. M is not BiS on SW.

Stamina drinks. Use them as needed for story progression or when you need them to clear daily material expeditions/periodic open world adventure tasks. Stamina isn't really a concern late in the game.

Please keep in mind that you should not be actively trying to rush EXP, most of your EXP comes from daily duties anyway, which is time-gated. Levelling is fast enough already!

The remaining weapon boxes are farmable via attack > start tab > material expedition > expedition tab on the left so i'm really not concerned about them. Purple ones can be salvaged for phase shifters if needed. Otherwise get something you don't already own just for increasing your collection count to reach minor crystal milestones.

Purple egg are full of out of date A rank valks. Can pick one valk to rush to max out to attempt to reach for witch orb shop sooner. Alternatively you can focus more going wide to get more valks unlocked for dorm squad or errands (however the dorm squad benefits from A rank valks are capped, and the benefits of A rank valks in errands are limited. Ideally for both you eventually farm base S ranks from War Treasury to SS ranks)

Immutable Crystallums

Crystallums are a Battle Pass Currency that can be exchanged for Valkyries and Equipment in the Reserve Works. Captains who purchase Knight or Paladin BP can also access the BP Works of that patch for 3 versions.

There are 3 BP tiers offering different amounts of Crystallums as follows:
-# The totals below account for the 2 Crystallums in the Dorm Shop.

• Vanguard (F2P) BP: 5 per patch
• Knight BP: 18 per patch
• Paladin BP: 24 per patch

but also there's no rush to complete this right now. Stress test has no time limit and it may be better to return later when you have ranked up valks more, get more gear to borrow from, understand the game better, etc. I understand you may urgently want the single gacha pull card but your crystal count looks low right now. We generally recommend pulling only when you can plan to guarantee both the valk and weapon together, so I don't see that happening currently (unless you already pulled one or the other preemptively, which you really shouldn't be doing).

Also currently nothing on banner is recommended to roll for afaik. We're at the end of the patch where it's just only full of reruns that aren't recommended long term meta wise.

before you buy any dkeys from bp, you may want to have a think about who is coming next in the paid bp shops since you buy knight and whether that valk would be of more use to you in the short-term. Dkeys are always there, but paid bp shop is only there for 3 patches. I'd still buy probably 2 dkeys now, just don't go completely broke on crystallums - I'd leave your options open. Main thing to consider is vita may be coming to BP within the next few patches

RPC: Whatever is left, do that first with any valk that couldn't fit in ME nor XDC teams in practice mode. 0s shouldn't be an issue

also i want to clarify something in case you weren't already aware (maybe you already are): it is the time fracture that's shortening the timer. Not the block itself. The blocking does lead to this but only because it triggers the evasion skill to start time fracture.

If your evasion skill cooldown is still ongoing and you attempt to block, no time fracture will happen. (look at the blue bar at the perimeter of the icon) https://i.imgur.com/ync18Fv.png

hm actually i realized yamabuki has the block too. It's been a long while since i looked at her skills, but i'm not sure if the augment is truly important for clearing this anymore.

Anyway whenever the evasion skill is back, try to go up to an enemy and trigger a block > receive a hit> release for time fracture to speed things up

then towards the end (40 seconds it seems?) when you're more trying to survive, try to save the skill for when you absolutely need it

if you have elysia M or sirin ascension M, you can use those to shorten the evasion cooldown too but i doubt you do nor do i recommend going out of your way to get them

hm there's a few others that can offer this too like shakespeare 2pc and kongming T iirc? but again i don't recommend any of those. The cost is too much for just this one stage that you don't need to clear anytime soon.

if you can't get full pity for both, then at least keep your pull count higher than the pity for the weapon, and any excess can go towards chancing the valkyrie

this way if you get valk early, you can still guarantee weapon

but also, currently any valk on banner right now really isn't worth picking up for the long term if you're meta but f2p or light spending. We're only seeing reruns right now

you may even consider giving up on anything current to cut your losses and focus more on saving up for future new releases.

The valk you already pulled might still be helpful as a support rather than as a dps

However this mechanic relies on getting alot of astral ring intensity (energy). There's numerous ways to achieve this but at a top level, it's going to greatly boil down to if you have SS Sera or not. Going after Sera now is risky because ||Songque is going to get replaced next patch by Youyun, so Sera is possibly next in line||
• Support wise I think she's respectable for Law of Ascension teams but the benefits of this compared to other similar supports are small and only matters greatly at a top level.

to be transparent, i don't actually have ME rita myself, so i wouldn't call myself an expert about her.

i might be wrong somewhere or other people can comment on her better than i can

If you are a f2p meta player, you should not pull gacha AstralOps - only players who are retaining or trying to retain Nirvana should consider it if they have the funds (unlikely for f2p players).

Reasons:

• Dreamseeker is good enough despite being free.
• Too expensive, especially if they need SS (~20-30k).
  • AstralOps have the same cost as a gacha weapon, therefore pulling one may result in being unable to afford a Valkyrie's weapon down the line (for meta players, this means skipping said Valkyrie entirely).
• The damage and score increase they provide in Redlotus and below is often minimal and not needed to retain.

I've only really used LoA ME to support RS on IMG bosses specifically, but she can have niche uses elsewhere I think it was maybe lantern I used PS FDD ME? Not sure. Anyway the entire valk is niche niche niche. Her dps usage is literally just her having a giant advantage on img weathers.
If you're going to get the weapon ever, it will be now while we still get semi-frequent img shill for her. Plus they're already 20 pulls away, and I don't think pulling rita wep now will threaten the 60 pulls needed for next patch cuz the banner is what, 6 weeks?

The meta answer is that you get new valk + weapon as much as possible and your main focus should be about getting that as much as possible and if you can't get weapon you skip. On f2p you can pretty reliably get new patch valk + weapon in most patches.

Value differential between different valks is overall pretty small and not worth stressing a lot over. You want new ones as they will get bosses for the longest time possible.

They will generally release two kinds of weapons. Weapons for new valks and weapons for old valks which make them work with the new system.
Weapons for old valks get fewer bosses overall and is less important but also notably cheaper as you can generally get the valk for free.

abyss is twice a week and each boss that shows up is extremely different

there's different weathers (stage buffs and debuffs) and each boss will have different gimmicks, weaknesses, resistances and even immunities

there's no best dps because a character could be the best for one boss and not great for the next one

the plan is to try to get the newest character and their weapon, then save for the rest of the patch and repeat until your account can handle more and more bosses

though if you want to play more casually and go after characters you like, that's fine too

There isn't really a weapon you should go out of your way to PRI ARM just for the mission and not actually use well. They are costly to make.

• New releases are pretty much always at the start of the patch.
  • Currently we're near the end of the patch. You can kinda tell from in the game because there's multiple ongoing events that are ending soon, or you can check the remaining time for the patch's battle pass.
• In the future, try to ask before making any kind of costly decision. The game is old and became very complicated, and it can be difficult to see the full effects of your decisions.

if you're going to spend money btw, check out the whaling guide in the pins. You're probably better off spending it on monthly and knight battle pass for direct crystals to roll more.

But also you're still learning about the game and don't have a strong understanding of it yet. It might be best to wait for now before spending money in case you realize later you don't enjoy the game and regret your purchases.

If HLE elysia is a high favorite, then we can still compromise and plan around her. Meta doesn't have to be everything

but you will need to understand getting HLE (or any rerun) now past her debut patch means

• there won't be as much dps scenarios for her as opposed to a newer release
• she's more likely to not last as long as a newer release

and we can talk in much more details of what HLE specifically offers in terms of a dps or support, but that talk might be too early when you're still new to many other things in the game (do you understand the astral ring faq?)

you can ignore the literal meanings of the fancy names. Just know that every ring type matches up with a specific tag. It's just a name matching system to make your teams

Yeah sure let's go through a few examples with ME as dps and also as support then.

The very start of the guide talks about having turning on Astral Ring for the team.

ME has astral ring properties, so if she's leader, then astral ring for the whole team will be on. You will get astral ring effects and astral ring functions like the big blue button to enter outburst mode.

What you shouldn't do is have a different valkyrie that does NOT have astral ring be the leader. Let's say Shigure Kira from earlier. Kira does NOT have astral ring. If Kira is the leader, you will get Kira's leader skill effect but astral ring for the team will be OFF even if ME is in it.

• what is the playstyle of the team
• what supports the leader would want

and the supports that this ring type leader would want are other valks that have that shadow star tag

again the name meaningless. Just know what matches with what

law of ascension < heavenly shift
world star < domain resonance

i don't expect you to memorize that immediately but you will eventually become familiar with it

anyway basically if we want to use Rita as leader (and act as a dps) we want to find shadow star supports for her

next patch ||we will have a free senadina from clearing events. Senadina does have shadow star||

HLE also has shadow star but again i don't recommend going for her specifically. For now any shadow star support is largely good enough.

So the main reason why matching tags are important is they provide core mechanics and gimmicks to the ring type's playstyle. In the case of shadow star, they mainly give you a longer duration for when you can call phantoms (Rita doesn't really care about that though), and they provide higher buffs and debuffs than non matching supports.

maybe a different example will be better. Let's say I'm playing a Grail of Infinitude leader. This sort of team wants to constantly restore sp to cast their ultimates frequently

the matching tag to it is symbiosis. That tag lets the team restore massive sp

if you don't have symbiosis supports on a grail team, during outburst you won't be able to really restore sp well and cannot perform all your expected ult attacks.

(HLE is a grail leader but is a bit of an exception though because she can go into negative sp)

anyway we kinda moved away from this. i just want make it clear, with a omniscient star tagged support, they are NOT providing core interactions or gimmicks to help your ring type's playstyle. You're ONLY getting leader skill activations.

leader skill activations are still important since there are some pretty big effects there for most if not all astral ring valks

so they are just the next best thing. That's why it's ok to use VBmetal coralie on the team for now

VBstorm helia does not have omniscient star and she does not have shadow star. Why is she still used here? There aren't really any other farmable omniscient star tags, and VBs actually gives lightning specific buffs and debuffs (ME Rita is lightning) for 25s. So she's kinda just the next next best thing lol

Yeah so keep in mind this game operates on multipliers. So having other effects up will grealty amplify each other.

Secondly you only control one valkyrie at a time. So in most cases it's expected to use one dps and two supports.

Now earlier you said you were rotating with Helia first > ME dps second > VBm third. Does this make sense?
ME should be the dps right (make sure she is leader too). So in this order ME is only getting effects from Helia in the first cycle.

@junior cliff ok maybe HLE is a bit more important than I gave credit for in terms of ME dps because both of ME's main matchups appreciate HLE's ability to hit enemies before they are able to take damage. If you're really focused on ME, maybe you can consider HLE more.

I'm still going to say you don't absolutely need HLE to retain against ME weathers though. People in Red Lotus can be very bad in various ways even though it's the semi highest tier of the game (although you're in SEA server which is more competitive)

For now though, save up until you have enough to afford a full valk and weapon (~40k imo) and then reassess at that later point in time if there's a future shadow star valk and how suitable she would be.

Anyway going back to this,

• use both VBm and VBs before calling in Rita (edit: rita should still be leader for her own leader skill effects). Repeat the cycle when their effects expire (25s usually)
• both VBm and VBs ult generally are controversial to use. In many cases they cost more time than they are worth. Consider skipping/testing them until you encounter a situation where you know the boosted damage from casting them can cut down on a rotation cycle/save you time.
• make sure you understand how they work too. VBm in particular might be a bit complicated #👶beginner-help message

Before anything else, I just want to say I don't own ME myself and I'm not the best to comment on her.

if you do have to use her weaponless, the main gameplay flow aspect i would be wary of is it seems she won't be able to restore meter (or as much meter) from her QTE stuff

And of course, expect her personal dps to drop greatly compared to alternatives. If you have nothing else, you would still probably use her though.

don't read into these numbers too strictly. Damage numbers aren't everything. What's important is speed but sometimes doing bigger numbers isn't the way to achieve that.

I’m pleasantly surprised with how well my weaponless FWS is working out (she showed up in a carnival 10 pull and I didn’t have budget for her weapon), but I also went for her because her tags fit well with my characters built for DPS. would her weapon be nicer? undoubtedly. but I’m happy with the support boost for sure

FWS is one of the bigger examples of a weaponless valk working well as a support

The main loss as weaponless is she loses a relatively big chunk of resonance damage for world star teams afaik

as a dps she naturally loses a good chunk of personal damage (was it 20% compared to HoFi dkey? idr)
but also she loses time stop utility after her stellar shift.
However her dps usages are much more rare now (she's a year old now)

I overall don't recommend spending crystals for her weapon especially if you have a limited budget (f2p/light spending)

tbh i'm not exactly sure how resonance damage is calculated. At first i thought it was a separate category like bleed dmg but i think some veteran recently pointed out to me it may be just in the same dmg% bucket, and bleed was really just exceptional

so the resonance damage argument may not even hold up

I also don’t currently have any world star valks really, so that I’m sure impacts how I feel. maybe someone with a lot of world star might find it more painful. but I can for sure see how a weaponless valk might not be the end of the world

tho it’s definitely not something I’m planning to repeat if I have a choice

there's a few other aspects too

• 20% team total damage (but total damage is common and stacks highly to diminishing results more than others)
• 2% total damage debuff from synergy 1

i think what's more important to think about is not the absolute difference it is to have it or not, but also consider the opportunity cost.

Even at this point the cost for it on a rerun is still going to be 60 pulls at worst. That's the same as some new gacha astral op, or some weapon for a new valk.

If you're f2p you're not affording every new release even if you only focus only on them unless you're extremely lucky.

So at that point it's objectively difficult to justify going after a rerun weapon that isnt' seeing as much main dps use and may not last as long.

It's a bit tricky though since Badum has been so incredibly useful and her status as a CNY valk does edge her out a bit more than others, subjectively speaking. Valks and their meta duration isn't something we can accurately predict and they're not always equal either.

But again FWS has been out for a year already, and also when a valk gets old enough, they become more available in less premium ways. Maybe you can look to catch up on her weapon in another year via reserve work bp shop, or maybe even regular bp shop if you're a light spender.

You don't have the primary option (lantern dps for weather bonus and type counter, with hohe support for weak spot targeting)

But other fire dps options you do have are

• FDD dps with VBm and HoFi supports
• FWS dps with heavenly shift supports (FWS FDD since she has breach. I'm not sure about the third slot but you can try XDC. Anyone that fits should be close in score)
• HoFi dps if you have full trio

I prob would consider the dps of the latest release first. Ideally you try out everything. If you already have any gacha astral ops then that may sway considerations (like theresa for FWS), but gacha astral ops aren't really recommended to go after for still developing accounts.

i think i was told before that the weakpoint multiplier is like 20% or something? #💁gameplay-help message It's big enough to eclipse most other supports despite HoHE's general lower status in LoA teams.

Granted fire weather also means HoHE's personal damage is reduced too, which is sizable otherwise with her type counter.

Altogether on paper, it sounds like an immediate consideration but still something to question and try non hohe options if you have the time.
