long term wise i would consider songque op generally over JDS personally.

I think she should still be better than dreamseeker slightly in many general cases even at S.0 rank but the main thing is it's a stepping stone towards SS rank if they ever do this again in the future. For transparency i don't know the finer details to songque gacha op so do review or ask around if you need to.

as for JDS...

• even if you get her weapon she's a very subpar dps. She's quite old so she doesn't see as much use anymore (general expectancy for anything becoming more available in bp, spending event etc). During ARC she can rely more on other valks to dps for her (sena subdps vs epernay)
  • points of interest can be physical, ranged, SD, WoD but i feel you have enough overlap that it'll take a very specific shill that won't happen often to make her stand out

as a support she has shadow star tag and heavenly shift tags

• shadow star
  • again only one HSS support is needed to make the team operational enough which you already have
  • other HSS options like sena/vita/rita/hle can be better than her nowadays so i consider her kinda mid, which at that point i'm not sure if you'll mileage well even if you get her (with no weapon which has some team buffs no less) against your competition
  • she does pop critical thresholds on SD enemies which HLE can also do. But some fights can be doable without that utility because the general damage from other options are more worth/the boss is squishy enough to not bother
  • her team support effect is kinda fast with merely just landing her QTE

so the main thing about many gacha ops at SS is that's where they get a lot of ARI regen -after ending- outburst. For many RL or lower scenarios you finish with one outburst realistically so these benefits aren't too prominent. Many ss gacha op scores in RL are only 30 points more than DS at best

JDS considerations for heavenly shift

• triggers SD enemy's crit thresholds early. Currently the only one who can do this for LoA since HLE doesn't have h.shift.
  -# - before she was notable for a fish skip glitch but this has been patched
• if you care about memorial arena, her attacks have great timer delaying properties (sus ani)
  • but this isn't as notable without her weapon
    -# - her personal damage can actually be pretty capable in specific situations even without fish skip, but again not something to consider without her weapon
• nowadays LoA supports are more commonly FDD, Vita, FWS, PAWS

tbh i feel there's some things i have missed in some of these lists but it should at least give you a stronger idea of things

the main things that are slow for vita in LoA are:

• her attack sequence for stellar drain. However only the last part needs to land/hit something so you can prepare it ahead of time while waiting for something to spawn (you're mainly gated by sp to use her ult at that point, and ult is where her team support effect is). LoA makes Vita's hold attack practically useless so no need to care about the meter
• her stellar shift is slow too but it gets completely ignored in this fight. It does deal its heavenly links early though so some fights might rely on using it to finish the fight.

Should I use planeroids for more material expedition attempts?

If you have the spare stamina then sure. Ideally before they cap at 50. Back in the day we used them on drift world for more adv skill materials but I don't truly know what's best value now.

You can also sell the planaroids but this is only 1000 coins each iirc. Not really good value.

Keep in mind planaroids are obtained because it was converted from a weekly material activity attempt you didn't consumed. "Ideally" you would consume all your attempts without needing them to convert into planaroids in the first place. (Some activities such as for valk exp does become useless/excessive after a while though, so it can be worth to just let those attempts convert)

yeah those are fine to spend

planaroids aren't too much to think about. Gaining them can alert you that you forgot to clear something so you can be more vigilant i suppose, but overall use them when you have spare stamina.

Early on i would imagine more of your spare stamina would be spent catching up on the story though since you're rushing for crystals for gacha banner durations.

But for the long term, spend planaroids esp when they are close to cap to refresh activities. It's common to run out of all sorts of materials in this game including coins.

hello everyone, I'm a complete noob and I actually just joined this server to ask this question because I'm stuck. in chapter 11 the game tells me I have to complete the worlds to proceed with 11-17 and after a bit of trial and error I've managed to do so with the first two worlds, but I'm completely stuck at world 3 EX-4. What is Carnival Supply and how does it work?

• This series of supplies occurs during celebration patches such as CNY and Anniversaries.
• Reruns 4 Valkyries and their signature equipment (via Carnival Equipment) over the period of 3 weeks.
  • Carnival Supply has A and B supplies for both Battlesuit and Equipment. They will iterate through the Valkyries available throughout the Carnival Supply period.

Behold! Fate-Defying Dragon (FDD)

New player recommended! Wide support coverage across the most recent teams.

FDD is a Rite of Oblivion Valkyrie that can support other teams of this ring type as well as Law of Ascension and Grail of Infinitude teams (which she does very well, providing breach and other buffs). For new accounts, she is not too reliant on her weapon for supporting purposes and you can substitute it with the free Blast Hammer for her A-Rank Battlesuit (if not in use already). Her ignite utility will also come in handy on bosses that require it.

Planar Armament: Warped Spacetime (PAWS)

NOT new player recommended. ❌ Can support recent teams but smaller coverage.

PAWS is a Grail of Infinitude Valkyrie than can support other teams of this ring type as well as Law of Ascension . While she has some support uses such as triggering paralysis, she won't be as useful as other options for new accounts - she is also very reliant on her weapon since without it you lose 1.5s of time-frozen domain (stops the timer completely) every time you do her 3rd ultimate. Her type (BIO ) also does not go in her favour since it is generally pretty niche.

Ba-Dum! Fiery Wishing Star (FWS)

New player recommended! Decent support coverage across the most recent teams.

FWS is a Law of Ascension Valkyrie that can support other teams of this ring type as well as Grail of Infinitude and World Star . Being a Stardust Valkyrie, her utility against SD enemies such as quickly gathering all Stardust Remnants on the field can give you a significant upper hand in SD content. She is also not too reliant on her weapon for supporting purposes, though World Star teams lose a significant resonance damage buff without it - which is fine, World Star is kind of sidelined right now.

Lone Planetfarer (LP/Vita)

NOT new player recommended. ❌ Cannot support the most recent teams (Grail of Infinitude)

LP is a Rite of Oblivion Valkyrie that can support other teams of this ring type as well as World Star , Wheel of Destiny , and Law of Ascension . While she still sees some use, she is not recommended anymore as she lacks the ability to support Grail of Infinitude which is in the spotlight right now as the most recent ring type to be released and her support for Wheel of Destiny is regarded as a bit poor without SS (which is not in any way recommended to get - there are better options and Wheel of Destiny is also sidelined anyway). FDD took some of her support coverage, particularly in Law of Ascension teams. In case you're still interested, she isn't reliant on her weapon to support.

What if I already own all of them?
What are you doing reading this FAQ you whale?! Jokes aside, the most useful rank-up to aim for will be FDD for a nice team benefit of an extra 12%/10% Enemy Elemental/Physical Damage Taken from her S1 and time fracture after her dragon breath on S2, wherever that may be relevant.

• S2 FDD > S2 Vita = S2 PAWS (extra weapon active) > S2 FWS
  -# If you have any more ranks than this, ask us for account-specific advice! Beginners should ignore this section, there is no reason to try to actively try to pull ranks.

Yes. Many part 1 teams still see regular use in SS MA, one of the easier endgame nodes, because they're extremely fast and their damage is still enough for them

likewise in elysian realm many part 1 characters remain entirely usable or sometimes even better than p2 equivalents

Carole is one of the more used characters in SS MA clears as well, though she'll need some gear for it

for story after the first few chapters they'll lock you into trial battlesuits anyway

so you can't use part 2 charas anyway

when we say P1 is dead it's almost entirely talking about abyss with a side note of SSS MA, since those are the places where having a better team means better rewards instead of just you the player spending a bit more time

(Part 1 being dead is also a bit of a misnomer. Part 1 teams are almost never the best in slot option for a boss, there are maybe 3-6 exceptions and they only run once in a blue moon, but there are still a number of abysses where a hyperinvested P1 team can still do fine in A3 or even occasionally RL. The thing is though that these teams are very difficult for newbies to assemble, so you'd be spending lots of time and resources for something that's worse than the best option and getting worse by the patch)

Allow me to explain, Captain!

"Attributes" refers to tags that every Part 2 Valkyrie has, allowing them to provide benefits for multiple Astral Ring Specializations. Each Valkyrie usually has more than one Attribute.

Each one of the Astral Ring types has one associated Attribute that will make a Valkyrie synergize well with that AR type.
These Attributes are:

• Omniscient Star (related to [Rite of Oblivion](#👶beginner-help message))
• Harmonized Shadow Star (related to [Wheel of Destiny](#👶beginner-help message))

For instance, let’s say I have a team of Paws, FDD, Badum

This is actually 3 teams because I can run FDD dps with Paws support and VBM, Badum Dps with paws and FDD, and paws dps with Badum and FDD

So you definitely need more than one team, but for RL retains you can probably get away with 3-5 total Valkyries if you know how to play

As long as you have decent coverage

Mostly the ones that are impossible to play if you don’t have are SD, hitcount, and Bleed, in ascending order, though not everything is equally copableb

Lunar vow with dkey will cover bleed and do okay at hitcount for you but you’ll be struggling a bit on any SD weathers unless you say get lucky with ||Badum on free pulls in carnival||

Broadly with 2 gacha Valkyries you can get into agony 3 and occasionally bounce down into agony 2, with 3 you will be mostly agony 3 - RL bounce

And then once you’re up to 6 or so unless you pick a bad spread you should be fine to retain RL indefinitely or even bounce Nirvana

Obviously if you pull 6 lightning Valkyries that’s gonna struggle in any physical abyss but that’s mostly only a concern if you are skipping a lot and not skipping the right ones or backpulling (not reccomended)

  • Spending event should mostly just be a bonus, and not an end goal. While sometimes we may entertain the idea of building pity at a low amount to reach a close milestone, it still carries risks. Songque Astral Op - 300

Songque Astral Op is generally considered an upgrade for an elemental DPS compared to DS. If you encounter such a boss you may need to test for yourself how S Songque Astral Op compares to SSS DS

S Songque Astral Op also provides 2 ARI on WA hit with a 15 second CD per character
SS Songque Astral Op then regenerates 10 ARI per teammate with the [Domain Resonance Attribute](#👶beginner-help message) after you exit SO
Both of these utilities are appreciated in runs that require 2 SOs and may help you out in the future. For more information on her buffs, view [!faq Songque aop.](#👶beginner-help message)

While you may not own a good elemental DPS if you started this patch, Songque Astral Op will still help some of your future teams. Additionally, getting her now also brings you closer to SS, which is rather nice for 2 SO runs, as mentioned.

While SSS Songque does not offer a big utility upgrade, the slight Resonance DMG buff or Lightning DMG taken debuff may matter at high competitive levels, so if you are one of such players SSS Songque is also something you may want to consider.

If you already own Songque Astral Op at SS, ask in one of the help channels what you should buy now since that will be account dependent.

|| Another Astral Op was already teased for CN, with no new ring type being anticipated there is a chance that she will replace Songque in WS teams. Therefore, if you're already a more developed player who thought about pulling an Astral Op in the near future take that into consideration. We don't actually know what the new Astral Op's kit will be so be aware that this is just speculation at the moment. Jovial Deception: Shadowdimmer (JDS) - 320

While she is a free unit for your account and will at least provide you with 620 Crystals from Elysian Realm and maybe expand your coverage a bit, JDS is generally considered to be more of a niche valk for multiple reasons.

• She isn't shilled frequently as a DPS and requires her weapon to actually function as a DPS
• She doesn't really see any BiS use case as a WoD support, though she applies her buffs rather fast in WoD teams
• She does have some usage as an LoA support and also works relatively well without her weapon in said ring type, but LoA also isn't shilled as much as it was before, meaning that this use case also has become less relevant.

Her ability to instantly pop critical values on SD enemies may come in handy on some bosses,even though HLE also has this utility JDS is the only character who provides such thing in LoA. Also note that it's not worth it to go out of your way for this utililty all of the time. One example would be a recent stage where SD mobs were present but JDS still wasnt BiS, if you want an example run have a look at this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNG-ukdIhnI

If you're buying the Paladin/Knight BP this patch, you could consider getting her weapons if you don't have any other SD DPS. JDS is mostly considered a very subpar DPS, so this may not be the wisest choice to spend your crystallum. If you're unsure, make sure to discuss this with us first!!

If you started your account in the last patch and also got ME, you may consider JDS as an ME support together with VBm since neither XDC nor LV has the matching support tag. Though be aware that it is quite common for newer characters to have old support tags, and you may not use her as much once you get such a character.

You may also factor in personal preference in this decision; it's totally valid to rather want a new character you like over the top meta decision as long as you are aware of the potential things you might miss out.

JDS stamps - 65 each

Generally, most of JDS' ranks are not that notable, and the main advantage is that you get some bonus ATK and buffs per rank, though some ranks may provide some additional utility like

S2 provides her CA with buffs and additional hits in SO, which is overall nice for her DPS and may help with Hitcount, though other valks may be preferred to clear Hitcount.

SS causes the weapon active to further restore SP and also induce Time Fracture, outside of SO, depending on the amount of Special Attack stacks she consumes. This skill is mainly notable for MA, though JDS doesn't really see use as a DPS in MA, so you may not be able to utilize it well.

If you're buying Paladin/Knight BP this patch, you could consider to buy some additional stamps to further boost your JDS ranks, while this may not be the best way to spend your Crystallum you could consider it out of personal goals/specific circumstances.

Lantern stamps - 65 each

Generally most of Lantern's ranks are not that notable, and the main advantage is that you get some bonus ATK and buffs per rank, though some ranks may provide some additional utility like

S2 provides more CA DMG and adds additional hits to her CA, which is overall nice for her DPS and helps with Hitcount, be aware that clearing Hitcount with her CA isn't that common.

SS buffs her CA and also provides a total DMG buff for the whole team once you hit her CA/Ult. This may also come in handy when you play Lantern as a support, though to be fair lantern support isn't commonly used a lot.

ELF Fragments - 4 for 2 Fragments

The current presence of Songque Astral Op has decreased the priority of ELFs for this patch's spending event. It is uncertain if gacha Astral Ops will continue to be offered in the next spending event while by contrast, ELF fragments have historically mostly remained as an option.

If you already own 3* Kiana ELF you may want to prioritise getting her to 4* , since there may be a niche scenario where 4* Kiana ELF would outperform SS Songque Astral Op

Going out of your way for 4* Kiana ELF at this point is still not worth it. Getting a 4* Kiana ELF completely from scratch takes a lot of time and if hoyo continues AOps in spending events, you would rather want to purchase them.
It is fine to dump excess tokens on this box though! The box does not expire, so you could gather a decent amount with future spending events and potentially farm yourself a 4* ELF from that.

To give an actual answer: Herrscher of Truth does twirl her rod above her head before her last basic attack when not transformed but this is brief.

But this is a bit a strange question. Visual appearances don't necessary correlate to what sort of effects or results that may happen. Is there a tangible outcome that can explain why you're asking for this? or is this just more for fun?

Maybe you're looking for ways to generate hitcount or raise an enemy airborne, and other non-helicopter methods can exist for that.

Also minor note, saying "free raiden mei" isn't descriptive enough. Technically many older Meis that used to be gacha only have now became farmable and therefore "free" as well. It's best to refer to valks/character forms by their battlesuit names. Crimson Impulse in this case.

gaining captain exp should be correlated to your stamina spending. Rather than story, you can spend your stamina in other ways too. Check the pins for a guide on "Spending your stamina"

Can you elaborate what you mean more by worth it?

We generally encourage competitive/meta investments here since abyss eventually becomes a gamemode where you compete against other people's scores. Doing well in abyss leads to more crystals gained. Meta doesn't have to be your only goal in the game though. For any non-meta goals, let us know what they are in detail and we can adjust.

Metawise, no farmable valkyrie is going to worth maxing out. The game has moved on to gacha only valkyries which you should save up to get the latest releases (get both the valk and the weapon together. Otherwise skip).

Of course gacha stuff doesn't come together in one day. If you're new and don't have anything yet, there can be farmable stuff to use cheaply while you save up for the gacha.

Yes it's generally what's focused upon because a significant amount of crystals there.

Memorial Arena is the other competitive/meta gamemode but it doesn't get as much attention there since ranking highly doesn't reward well enough.

Elysian Realm is also a major mode but it's quite lenient to clear.

Those three are the main modes where your own roster is relevant. However, HI3 is full of other content and you're free to deviate and decide for yourself what you want to more focus on

Some even enjoy HI3 without any of those, and focus more on events and story where trial characters are provided.

but it might be best to get these facts straight when it's still early for you so you can build better habits down the line

Tbh lifting an enemy airborne isn't really something that's emphasized late in the game. Newer bosses aren't really liftable, and endgame focuses more on clearing quickly rather than being able to clear at all

there are old bosses where you can lift them perpetually and they can't do anything but you generally suffer in inefficient damage and losing time as a result.

As far as lifting enemies goes, CI is definitely one of the more reliable valks to do it. If lifting is all you're looking for, you can prob ignore all the alternatives and details i list before.

White comet kiana can too if you hold attack at a specific point in her sequence
Herrscher of Sentience fu hua's ult pillar attack in burst mode also can do it iirc
Shadow Knight fu hua's burst mode entry, and Blueberry Blitz Liliya's full meter hold attack can prob do it as well
Sakuno Rondo Theresa can gain enough stacks on an enemy, then hold attack to pop them which can cause enemies to be lifted airborne.
Mad Pleasure Shadowbringer Thelema can prob do it with her aerial weapon active tap
There's many more examples than just these really.

Drive Kometa (Yamabuki Armor's augment form) Bronya can tap attack to inflict a weaken field that makes enemies more susceptible to being lifted.
And sometimes specific boss moments can render them opportunistic to being lifted. Shadow knight boss is vulnerable when the shield is removed. Raven is liftable when her rage meter is filled and parried.

Agent Rosette - I personally skipped through most of this so I can't say too much. I would imagine it does tie to main story but more like a side filler episode of sorts. Expect to be spoiled by the characters and there can be some moments where you're forced to do some gameplay with them but overall it's quite minimal. The event should be added to voyager log once this patch is over where you can replay everything when you're ready. Once you unlock the training arena multiplayer, you can just go straight to that to afk ten matches there.

Hero's expedition - the art here shows some characters including the new character next patch. I don't think there's much story spoilers here otherwise? This event consists of puzzles but it also lets you watch a video for all the solutions.

Star Tempering clash - no story whatsoever but you'll be expected to know how to play the teams properly. If you've been avoiding the valk menu then there might be spoilers on characters here but it doesn't seem like that's the case for you.

Yeah resources can be slow and difficult to come by especially when you're not meta. Even if they're not going to a strong purpose, they may still be important to things you're interested in, so I still encourage being conservative and making sure you want what you're spending anything towards.

HoO can be obtained from reserve works shop but this will take a long time. Maybe you can hold out for her to become more available in other ways.

Chronologically they are latest in the timeline but they were released early, intended for us to be a peek of what's ahead. Some people don't like that and it's up to you when you want to tackle it.

HoHE's new weapon is a bit special in that it gives her p2 effects (astral ring types and tags)

if you want to plan for that, save up 60 rolls (~17k crystals) and keep an eye on #🔮cn-gameplay-discussion pins on when it may return

but if you're casual and not actually looking to use hohe in abyss/arena/elysian realm then maybe see if you can be satisfied enough with just using a trial of it in her tutorial

attack > events tab > tactics class > hohe

and you can try out all sorts of valks there you don't own too

but it's understandable to still want to own it even if it achieves no tangible/significant effects. Up to you on what you want there.

1 - Grips of Tai Xuan (gloves, cope glove weapon and ice gene limit).
2 - Cleaver/Judgement of Shamash (guns/greatsword, need both to sync for +10 attack and fire gene limit).
3 - Jizo Mitama (katana, phys gene limit attached to it).

In terms of mechanics, you're going to need to be aware that HI3 is a game and things can be arbitrary and not matching up to lore.

A valk can have an old signature, a newer signature, and in rare cases their best weapon can be even a non-signature in specific scenarios (HoO uses 7 thunders which is originally for HoT. HoO benefits from higher ult specific damage with this which can be important for certain kill methods that focuses only on ult)

Same deal as HoHE. Needs a new dkey gacha only weapon. Think of it as like DLC.

story does not truly tie to meta performances. Ultimately hi3 is a continually updated game and the meta changes over time. Finality had her own time already, and resurfaced with her new weapon too.

• Helia has two forms. VBoltstorm is farmable in asterite shop.
• Everything else in your list is gacha/unavailable otherwise for now
• Next patch will have a banner called carnival where many reruns will happen there. There will be 20 free valkyrie banner only rolls (not weapon) here too. Vita and PAWS Helia will be here so maybe you can chance at them (odds are still low) or use the 20 rolls to discount to getting them at full pity (70 more rolls instead of the full 90)
• Newer valks are becoming more available in other ways (senadina was already in paid bp). Maybe you can hold out for the older ones to be available in other ways rather than spending crystals (albeit for sena you're already going for starter banner. I don't expect sena to be farmable soon anyway.)

the main one people struggle with is getting lv 50 stigmata

so level 50 is only achievable when the base stars/rarity of the stigmata is 4 stars. Marco polo is an example of this which the starter banner already makes you level up and upgrade

normally for non meta players focused on p1, crystals are hardly relevant to them since most are farmable

but in your case, you seem interested in a few p2 valks, and weapons for p1 valks to gain p2 mechanics too

oh and for this, try to learn the role of your valks

most teams consist of one dps and two supports. You can only control and have out one valk at a time after all so it makes sense mathematically to set up 2 supports > 1 dps deals buffed damage until buffs run out of duration

• other not so conventional teams do exist though. like triple support where everyone buffs each other

HoR is an ice dps
pardo is a universal support (main debuff from her purple hold attack or ult is total damage based rather than being type specific)
HoV is a physical dps

so maybe drop hov for any ONE of

• Valkyrie Blastmetal Coralie (total damage/universal damage buff/debuff. Also useful for cheap astral ring teams. The only one worth investing to max)
• Jade Knight Sushang (ult gives ice teammates breach status, letting them bypass enemy stats. give her nebulous duality glove to help with sp restoration to let her ult. not as widely useful as coralie or RC)
• Sugary Starburst Kira (ice support mainly. not as widely useful as coralie or RC either.)

But also beginner teams are liable of not having strong enough supports that a secondary sub dps can be better too. Maybe consider Terminal Aide Prometheus in that case (weak universal debuff to enemies from her shield, but deals ok personal physical damage)

any farmable is not good in a late meta point now. The latest releases have all been gacha only

early on maybe you can consider starry impression when investing in her cheaply. However she's a physical support, weaker than Terminal Aide in that role, while providing bleed utility that isn't really needed early on. Starts at A rank but wants S rank to help with sp regeneration. Needs SS rank when taking down certain hitcount shields quickly (no need to bother with SS as a newer player)

actually i guess SI can buff universal damage but has this strange condition of needing the enemies to have no shield or be shield broken. She needs to ult and give her teammates red paint too but all in all, she's asking for too much compared to other options.

All that physical support stuff are more from her signature weapon and stigs.

Anyway sure drop her for coralie. Beware coralie and pardo does offer "total damage" buff and debuffs. The formula in this game does make same modifiers add together additively which is generally less potent than different categories that are multiplicative

level rush bundle is good for the crystals alone. HoHE elysia is more of just a bonus. Meta wise i do not recommend chasing after hohe investments even with her new gacha weapon. Your crystals are better spent on much newer releases and even at max f2p income you can't keep up with everything as is.

If you only want to own hohe elysia then keep in mind she is farmable in war treasury shop next patch

All the activities to get LV are available now and aren't gated by dailies (HI3 is very notorious for having daily progression gates in their events. Some events you may want to plan 10 days to complete them, but that's not the case this patch)

You can loosely think of elemental damage as just fire/ice/lightning all at once.

EDIT: (So they add together in the formula and not multiply. E.g., 15 fire + 15 elemental damage = 30 fire, and also 15 ice and lightning)
