heya all, Ive been very tempted to try the game again but Im not sure how popular it is still - would love to hear some opinions

smaller playerbase than before but still decent. If you're playing because of popularity though you're better off going for something more mainstream

beginner experience is quite bad in terms of the early learning curve but passing that it's quite simple and doesn't drag on the time (everything having a lite mode). The endgame mode is pvpve so you can decide based on that whether you're interested

nah I dont mind popularity too much unless the endgame has pvp and then ykno if I put my time to grind something I'd want the end game to feel rewarding rather then there being no player base for me to experience it with or at the very least for the game to be popular enough for me to look for other people to ask questions as a beginner lol

new accounts are better for the purposes of catching up, do note that anything you had up till 2021 is farmable at this point or obtainable through other free means

also astral ops are generally avoided outside of nirvana

I'm not sure if I want to be competitive, can i even really catch up with older players? (not the top 5%) Yeah I imagined that by now hof, mobius, pink elf etc... were all farmable. Then I'll start a new account, redoing the story stages will at least help refresh my memory

generally speaking the goal is to catch up with the meta, not with older players

even without stigs, VBm has her own innate buffs and debuffs

qte off, 2 weapon skills (on ground) jump attack weapon skill, 3 stacks that way + vulnerability app, after the first rot you can just jump atk weapon skill to refresh the stacks and vulnerability debuff

the main buff is from her passive section. Whenever you use a weapon active that consumes your meter, it gives a stack that buffs the team. This maxes at 3. Alternatively using ult gives you max stacks. Gaining a stack refreshes the stack so even at 3, you can use one more to keep max stacks rather than rebuilding all of it

at SS, you can start the rot with her ult to apply all the buffs, although avoid using her ult later on

Chrono Navi is, if you already have her built, a technically usable cope support for FDD in the event that you have no other better cope supports, but she’s not worth building just for that and even if it was true she wouldn’t be useful to you for very long

(She’s worse than any astral ring including Boltstorm because she can’t proc FDD’s 3 astra ring valk buff and then in terms of part 1 cope supports her buffs are fine but her cycle takes forever)

if you still want to consider this further then tell us more what you already have to supplement what you're getting.

sorry i didn't get back to you in time. For RL purposes this seems fine overall.

Just be wary that it's not uncommon for people to have FoV at SS rank (or higher at this point) because of how her original debut banner was like (gave gear simultaneously as you pulled valk). Despite that, I still expect S.0 rank to be capable enough to retain RL loosely speaking. No need to catch up to it, although if you do, note one of the ranks can change how her rotation flows.

Also be wary how common SS HTr is, which gives further breach. I don't recommend going out of your way for it now for similar niche reasonings.

If you do continue to consider senadina S2 down the line, note that the rank mainly helps sena's matchup against multiple mobs (e.g. bloodthirsty weather with stardust mobs) which isn't all of her use cases (e.g. lightning/resonance guaymas is single target)

Otherwise the rank does provide some raw attack at worst but overall not a major benefit from S2.

Ai-chan recommends that you keep the box until you have a use case for one of the weapons. Both Purana Phantasma and Nocturnal Stealth have their uses. Key of Ego is generally not recommended.

If you insist on opening the box immediately, Purana is likely to have more usage long-term due to the team tdm buff and RC being able to quickly debuff enemies which may be useful for SS MA.

1 - Grips of Tai Xuan (gloves, cope glove weapon and ice gene limit).
2 - Cleaver/Judgement of Shamash (guns/greatsword, need both to sync for +10 attack and fire gene limit).
3 - Jizo Mitama (katana, phys gene limit attached to it).
4 - Star of Eden (cannon, has no attached gene limit it just exists).

strictly speaking most valks can clear ER for weekly crystals unless they are very old or very uninvested.

In the case of MPE you prob lack gear and ranks to make her strongly considerable for weekly clears. nothing wrong with doing it for fun or to get 1 time crystals though
