if you play on the NA/EU server then no you shouldnt have redownload everything. you can probably get away with copying the BH3_Data\StreamingAssets\Video folder (after installing from the launcher before you open the game itself to install the rest of the assets) to save on a fair bit of redownloading

Game assets should be the same since Steam version and standalone Global client uses the same server

Perhaps only the executable files differ, for example the Steam version of the game supports Steam overlay

no, the steam ver. of the game uses SteamID for login, so autologin with the current Steam Account

that could be caused by many things, first try a restart of the PC if you have it done on some time and you have fast boot enable
and check your Antivirus if could be blocking the access to the file

probably can help but like a really really small percentage , when i check the settings, that option only affected some objects that are not "gameplay" related, if is off the items still have some "physics" but are like a preset animation

It's up to you, after an update, some events files are not deleted and can take a little more space, but is not much really, so if you have enough, you can just make a clean reinstall after like 1 year or more

hi3 isnt available in hoyoplay yet so the shortcut on your desktop was for the old launcher, probably your regular launcher shortcut got removed by windows or something accidentally but can you go to your games installation directory and see if you see a launcher.exe? try opening that

Iirc if you top up in Honkai via phone you're locked with topping up only in the phone

Afaik you're locked to topping up through a phone if you've created your acc (the HI3 acc specifically, not the Hoyo acc ofc) on it, if you did that on PC both options are available
Not 100% sure about HI3, but it is that way for GI and HSR iirc

Have you tried with the normal launcher? Steam login is worse because it doesn't allow for you to play on mobile, so even if it doesn't fix the issue if you ever want to play on mobile (say your pc breaks or you go on vacation and you want to play on phone) steam stops you doing that

or that just that DLL is missing, for this last one run a repair from the launcher

okay first close everything of the game (game and launcher), go to your game files and delete the cri_ware_unity.dll (...\Honkai Impact 3 ###\Games\BH3_Data\Plugins), then open the launcher and run a repair and check if that fix your issue

just in case check that your antivirus is not causing problems with that file

other thing... did you follow all the steps and restart your pc after installing the media pack right?

in that case you'll need to reinstall the game, the official fix is to isntall the media feature pack and then reinstall the game but sometimes you can get away with just deleting the .dll and running the repair tool but since that hasnt fixed it you'll need to completely uninstall and then reinstall the game

yes, if your pc has the media feature pack downloaded and you've tried reinstalling then theres nothing else that we know of to try to fix it so you'll need to contact customer support and let them know all the stuff you tried

if you’re already using your browser to store passwords on your computer you could just download the browser onto your phone and use it as a password manager systemwide

not sure what the process is on android but for ios it’s configurable

but if you’re looking for dedicated password managers two i recommend are bitwarden and proton pass

but like i said earlier, you can easily do it yourself by just opening the bh3.exe file from the two servers installations folders. you can even put a shortcut to them so you dont have to go to the folders or anything, just double click the shortcut for both versions and that way you dont even need to open the launcher

cuz i dont think it would be a huge amount of effort to make it work, probably just a day or two of work. but i dont think i've ever heard of anyone that needed to play two versions at the same time

Hoyolab uses the current HYV account to show info for games link to it, unfortunately if your Hi3 info is on another HYV account, you can't merge it with other account.
your only options are log out/in your HYV accounts to use Hoyolab tools on both, or I you want everything on one HYV account the only option is to start again on the game that is not link there

You can try to just run the game exe too, sometimes some users only had "connection issues" with the launcher, and the game started without problem by using the exe directly

that should be enough to handle the game on normal graphics settings, try to make sure that its not set too high in the graphics but also try checking your phone for system updates and can also try fully shutting down the phone for about 1 minute before turning it back on just in case the phone itself is being sluggish

but that chipset should be able to handle a graphics level of medium or high depending on your preferences (im ok with 30-60 fps for instance but some people think anything under 120 is laggy) in a low > normal > medium > high > very high/highest scale

i'm not sure if the free space is causing the lag though, if it has free storage space (not ram but storage) then thats not an issue, but if its maxing out the ram that might be part of it. but another likely culprit is that even though its a snapdragon 888 chipset that phone is running an adreno 660 gpu which is not stonks.

if it ran perfectly fine just like even a week ago then there might be some issue that you can look into like memory or something bogging down the phone but if its always been like that then its likely the gpu for it

Adreno 660 yeah it can run Honkai on Quality but since it's encountering fps issues I do assume it's something happening on the background just like Luna said a restart of the phone could work to kill those applications running in the background and aren't being used

If you have an option for restart optimization I suggest you turn that on since it really helps with your phone performance

If that is the case, unfortunately you can't merge HYV accounts, so you only have 2 options: just keep the 2 HYV accounts, or only use one account and start again on the games that are not created on that account

ah, so tbh the account retrieval isnt going to help you then. its only purpose is to link a hi3 account to a hoyoverse account if and only if it is not currently linked to one, if you've logged into the game at all in the last 2 years then it is already linked to a hoyoverse account, which is why the error message says your hi3 account is already linked to a hoyoverse account.

if it started a new hi3 account when you logged in just now then the issue is that you either are logging into the wrong server, or are using the wrong hoyoverse account. I'd double check that you are logging into europe server and not the americas server (I assume your account is on europe)

but if you are on the right server then you'll need to email customer support (dont do an in game ticket, send an email) and tell them that you've forgotten what your login email is and give them the UID of your old hi3 account and they'll tell you what to log in with #how-to-contact-cs

could be 2 things, you are just unlucky and both connection had a bad routing, making your connection to the servers unstable, if this is the case you can "fix it" with the stuff here #🔌technical-help message
or something on your pc is messing with the launcher and dropping the connection

not 100% but could, most of the time is the users ISP giving them issues, if the problem they got didn't solve in a couple of days/weeks they had to contact them to get the connection fix/reset for them

yes and no... the custom launchers mostly download the file on "threads" so they can resume more easily the download after you lose connection, while the official one just do it on one, so you can have more issues on unstable connections there
they already "fix it" on HoYoPlay, but unfortunally Hi3 is only on CN for now
still the custom launcher are not a miracle program, they still can end up with a corrupted file at the end of the process if your internet connection is really bad, just not as frequent as the official one

Its okay I guess. Im sort of a retired-veteran player now. I play very rarely (started playing since 1.0), been kinda going inactive for hi3 ever since pt2 released. Im not a fan of how they are taking the direction of pt2 in.

that doesnt mean much, you can have the faster internet posible, but if is unstable or your ISP give your really bad routing, for download can be an issue
i had 2 connection before, always had problem with the faster one, where i was unable to even login in game on almost any time of the day, while my slower network was stable af, never had issues with the game, and even that i took me like 2-3 days to download an update, never i never got a file corrupted from that connection

Unfortunately, AA is not applied during "dialogues" scenes. that has been a thing for a long time, but now thanks to the changes on the engine + that the new characters model are more complex, the lack of AA show more
you can ask for an option to get AA on dialogues on the survey they release at the end of the ver. (like the one right now) if enough users ask for it, they will add it

right now the only thing you can do if you want is to set the render to very high, but that will impact the performance because is rendering the resolution x2

sadly it cant be gotten from the game files, they're encrypted and data mining/reverse engineering the files/assets is against TOS. if the images you're wanting are during dialogue you can hide the text to take screenshots with but thats about all you can do to my knowledge. hard to say what the problem is but if it got professionally "fixed" but they didnt reinstall windows then it maybe needs to have your GPU and/or CPU drivers reinstalled or more likely needs to have windows reinstalled (and as part of that process, reinstalling all your drivers including those for GPU and CPU)

if it wasnt professionally fixed then the hardware damage from the previous issues is probably the issue since i imagine the hardware wasnt replaced. (or if it was professionally done but they didnt replace anything)

to reinstall your drivers you would need to google "drivers for [your laptop model]" and download the drivers from the manufacturers website. after getting the gpu drivers, (the cpu ones are sometimes called chipset drivers) make sure to download a program called DDU to cleanly uninstall your graphics drivers before reinstalling the newly downloaded ones. for the chipset ones maybe it'll have a reinstall option when you run it. For windows reinstallation its called "reset" in the settings you can google how to reset windows and get many tuturials but with reinstalling windows you'll have to redownload every app/program and if you dont back up any of your photos, etc they can be lost so you'd need to do that too. and also you'd have to isntall every driver found from your manufacturers website since windows wont do it for you.

it doesnt matter what you download first since you have to open it from your downloads folder to run it. just run the DDU first and then run the graphics drivers that you downloaded and then run the chipset driver download file and if theres a reisntall/repair option click that. there is probably youtube tutorials but i dont know of any off the top of my head. if you can get it done cheaply i know computer repair shops can reinstall windows and should do the backup/install of the drivers too.

you could also try repairing your windows installation if that somehow got corrupted from overheating causing the laptop to crash by doing this:
Press Windows + R and type cmd and hit enter.
Next type dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth and let that finish.
In command prompt type sfc /scannow and let the command finish.

with the amount of info i have about your problem? no.

all i know is that your laptop may have "overheated or smth" and may have gotten professionally fixed but I dont know what they did at all and so if we assume even the worst case scenario of like hardware/software damage hard crashing the pc that didnt actually get fixed then that still has dozens of things that it could have affected that is causing "wuwa to stutter even on lowest settings". It may not even be related and could be something else entirely but a corrupted windows installation or corrupted graphics drivers are the two most likely sounding culprits to me

if you got your pc repaired at a place you could see if their repair comes with any kind of warranty or something and let them know that its not fixed since its performance is horrible and see if they'll fix that

but theres no magic "find the problem" button or thing to do, that would be the single most useful thing in the history of computers that anyone who works with computers would probably sell their soul for lol

well DDU has its own official website, i dont know why you would download from anywhere other than there. and for laptops they have drivers specifically tailored to the laptop model so you need to get it from the manufacturers website in the google search list (aka if its a lenovo laptop, get the drivers from the lenovo website)
