What weapons u running?

If ur running spear, 100% use wolf sight if u have it, if not, you can still run it for the bow dps gain, can also run bronze pendant, iron brooch or the nimble anklet, just depends on what you think with your playstyle / confidence in the fight would fit best

Yes, the monuments are just a place where they frequently spawn. Everywhere else in the Ashlands the Charred spawn and respawn like any other regular mob.

You’re using it wrong if you are close enough to your enemies that they can kill you before retriggering your shield

Magic is a ranged master
Pop skelly summons to draw aggro, then use your op magical powers to wipe your enemies from the face of Valheim before they can get close

For boss fights, same thing - just a LOT more running 😅

People always talk about earth walls and moats but I've had very little trouble in multiple playthroughs just throwing up a stone wall made of 4x2 pieces and calling it a day. I usually settle in the Plains, just need to be respectful of the Loxes basically (better yet, throw food around, tame them, and have your army of gud bois be the defense)

Yeah, it's unfortunate that some players react poorly to losing their first raid/troll attack and try to make their bases unraidable, negating much of the game's challenge.

ive never understood it. when a raid goes off i think oh boy fun combat and resources! i think Omni nailed it it's most likely people who had a tragedy with trolls, but it's a shame they avoid a cool part of the game entirely.

Comfort - more like Valheim or minecraft

games I can spend a few minutes playing every now and again for a quick fix but I won’t play intensively as I will feel sick after a while 😅

my personal base philosophy is build a small functional neat house whenever wherever you need, and eventually later in the game, plains or mists, you might find that perfect location for whatever reason you want to call home. but don’t go out and get 5 carts of normal wood and build noah’s arc when you’re still early in the game. unless that’s fun for you. there are few “should”s in this game and none matter if you’re having fun

Weak to fire and neutral to slash, and while they have more HP than troll they also do less dmg 🙂

Yeah, they have a ton of HP. So fighting them with flint takes forever. Fortunately they get easier to kill as your gear and skill improves.

So recently I've made a friend quit League, because he's only ever played that game for years, and he maybe tried Minecraft and Fortnite, the normie games, after a dozen games played we've finally made it to Valheim, I've made him buy it since it's 50% off now. I've already been playing Valheim on and off for 250h~ roughly, just wanted to come in and say God bless the devs, setting a dedicated server up was the easiest thing of my life.

My friend is already 30h deep within 5 days, and it's by far his favorite game by now, keep up the good work guys! 🥰

Yessir, I'm basically hand picking games for him, gotta turn him into a cultured gamer. We've gone through a few good ones, mostly what would be interesting to him, like TWD Telltale series, Hogwarts Legacy since he's a HP fan, Slay the Spire, Disco Elysium, Tomb Raider series, Detroit Become Human, Far Cry 5

And within 5 days Valheim is Crackheim to him, he's addicted, it beat out all of the above.

We're only up to Bonemass, doing it tonight most likely, prepping potions and gearing up in Iron

He's going on about how peak this game is, and I'm just sitting here shocked how easy it was to set the server up, I'm not running a beast, just a 3080 and a Ryzen 5 5600x 16gb RAM, and everything is butter smooth. So I had to come in and glaze the devs a bit

I initially played with other people that got me into the game so I never had to set anything up for a group, this was the first time

People usually think 10% means they'll win once every 10 attempts. That's so wrong. A simple calculation says 10% over 10 attempts has roughly a 35% chance of not happening. To get closer to an almost sure win you need way more attempts than that, like 40-50.

In other words, 10% chance of trophy drop is not generous at all, even if it looks like it is.

Tbh magic is basically easy mode once you learn how to use it 🙂 i did melee playthrough in ashlands just as they came out, then once more some time after and then i did magic, it was significantly easier even than the second melee playthrough which was after all the nerfs.

pretty standard survival game loop, with added skill levels that make grinding them worthwhile(you get stronger etc)

To not be used. Think with me. I fought a loxe, the big plain creature. Parry, hit hit, parry hit hit hit, parry hit hit hit, occasional roll, without getting hit once. I downed him, at elast I hit him 10 times with my spear, if not more. Adrenaline gain = 23. No drop offs. Basically I needed three loxes to charge the trinket. Now let's move from big targets to little ones, yeah, more hits, more parryes, you charge faster. You need at leats 5-6 enemies attacking you, no pause. Tell me where you can afford to fight 5-6 enemies in mystlands? No seekers, it's a suicide. The flying monsters? Arrows

So they made a mechanic that's effective only against invasions and hordes of enemies

i personally will agree with the big adrenaline trinkets, i found crystal heart very hard to proc and if it did the fight was almost over anyway. i strongly prefer the iron brooch and could proc that a bunch, it synergized extremely well with battleaxe, i thikn the big adrenaline ones were useless because everything just gets dead too fast, i don't parry every mob three times i just swing and kill 4 at a time, i think high adrenaline items are meant for a playstyle that i don't really do

I'm having a weird issue with breeding my boars. Up to now they have been producing 4 piggies. Its been an hour, and I have seen numerous pink hearts, but only 2 piggies.

It's a taken slot for too low advantage. If I am able to take out 4 seekers in a row, I don't need that boost when it triggers at the 5th seeker. I am already ok. Same for raids. If I have to take out 5 enemies to trigger that, I can just keep going and keep a slot free. What players need it's a good upgrade against the current biomes monsters. I need power against seekers, not a bunch of wolves. Cause in that case I raise a hill and hit from safety. Not against a bunch of gobs camp cause I just polish it slowly. Not aagainst a bunch of draugs cause I oneshot them. I need power against seekers, loxes, soldiers and gaiju minions.

You can breed other animals later as well.

Try to get them in an enclosed area, drop something they eat, go into sneaking mode so they won't be alerted (can hide behind a wall, for instance). keep fire away and wait for at least 30 minutes.

They will eat the food and at some point a yellow heart will pop up.

Just be aware that once they're tamed, any other monster will attack them.

And keep in mind that in general the single or two star boars are the best to tame.

Man I wish they hadn't changed ||Vile's faction||, mainly because it makes no sense but also because the Plains are already a place where you get chased by everything. well, we have to deal with bears and trolls teaming up might as well deal with viles and lox. I think the complaints were that they were just getting instantly killed by packs of night goblins and lox. I personally found it annoying when I was hunting them and they got too close to tar, I just wanted an honest fight with them to see them.

It probably would’ve been worse when they were undead. But I don’t know that’s me, I wanted to fight and play against them not just win against them and get their loot.

The problem is that now we deal with lox, vile, deathsquito, fulings, shamans, and berserkers 😞 . Back when they were undead a vile was able to take down a lox, and it made sense to find fuling parties hunting viles in the distance, making them fulings friends makes very little sense. It's true that yagluth is an undead, but at the end of the day he's a boss, a vile not being one would make sense to have been kept as undead, now we however get to see viles attacking other undead enemies and it just doesn't feel right to me

It's true that they got wrecked by loxes as long as there were at least two, but that could have been fixed by making viles come in packs as well or something like that. Changing their faction just seems unreasonably forced

Also now tar get immensely bullied even harder than before

Probably won't ever need to dig up the underground parts but then I at least will be able to find them 😄

imo frostner.
physical damage resistances are relatively even throughout mistlands, so the plains' mostly physical arsenal is pretty equally equipped for it
(half the enemies resist (x0.5) all 3 physical damage types, so frostner's high frost damage, which all mistlands enemies are neutral (x1) to makes it pretty good)

There is no consistent release window that they follow. They have generally just put the release out to live upon completion and proper testing.

Also noticed swords (both 1h and 2h) while not having no MTP (now 2h too after CTA) their hitbox can be bit wonky, not hitting multiple targets if too close, but this problem doesn't persist with battleaxes, which makes them better suited against crowds.

i think frostner is the safest because bugs freeze for a very long time letting you hit them and just walk around behind them. if you’re good with a battleaxe keep using that, but also bring a spear for larger solo enemies.

but as soon as you can make mistwalker, that’s kind of the op choice for a long time into ashlands too
