I also like Enshrouded enough to keep playing it. My son is far more advanced in it than I am, and he is able to build gorgeous complexes with lovely gardens.

that didn't mean that the content described in that roadmap was cancelled, in fact, much of it has since been added, just after 2021.
still, that roadmap shouldn't be taken as a promise, and again, the "ocean update" there was called "saga-worthy seas and more ships" and was not listed as a biome update so it's hard to guess what that update would've entailed, especially considering the smaller scope the game had back then

I just feel more and more disheartened every time they release some content for an old biome, this time it’s plains and Black Forest, why are we back there?

I don’t want the only new content to be deep north when they do full release. Grounded is a good example of how the full release was more than just what early access had been.

The Call to arms update was actually supposed to be part of Deep North, but apparently there was too much stuff 😄 also this way it can be tested in more pieces and devs can have deeper look at issues the update may have.
