was just giving a suggestion
https://valheim-map.world/ you mean this, but yeah, as Blob said you will get answers in #mods-discussion Moofy π
Posted nearly an hour ago - no response LOL
Give it time π if nobody responds it quite likely that nothing like that exists.
I find it hard to believe there's no feature to make finding haldor easier in Nomap... that's kinda nuts LOL.
Not sure why they didn't include rune pointers like they did for the bosses.
Finding Haldor in nomap runs is nearly impossible for solo players.
Because the nomap is meant to be like that
finding haldor even with a map can be a pain sometime too, there are maps where all of his spawn points will be far out close to the edges of the map
You have to be very unlucky to get seed like that π but it is known to happen sometimes indeed.
a group of friends that were playing for the first time had it happen to them on their map, they were done with plains and still hadnt found him
Oooof, yeah, really unlucky.
yeah =/
Haldor has like the widest possible range of spawning on the map right?
compared to the other two hildir and bog witch
I thought that there were many messages that I didn't scroll through :D
Imagine picking a hard game mode then wanting to make it easier.
Itβs more so that the undue challenges involved in finding haldor are much harder than the rest of the challenge
The Megingjord sure is handy for hoarding loot. But the fishing stuff is just as good. It's nice to catch a 5-star fish and display it somewhere.
how big are the player count spikes when valheim updates?
?
π :<
ty
take it back
done
oh
I'm so lost.
where are you lost at? π
Ember wants to be able to post multiple suggestions in 1 post in suggestion channel
Ah. Then no.
I suspect because someone doesn't want to wait the timer..
its so looong
all i do in life is wait π
search-bar in discord
...
30 minutes later - "Add horses".
So what WAS the suggestion?
Pancakes in the deep north
Throw that one in with the battlepass
Nah, throw in a flying mount instead
Just to be allowed to make more suggestions in one
Please tell me you're joking.
I was taught not to lie tho π
Can you help Subject find a beehive?

That is so unlucky tbh
You've lost the bees
Does that mean the bees are unhappy?
Pancakes in valheim
Thereβs giants in the game? Saw one when I was exploring near the edge of a mountain biome. Wanted to shoot it so bad but didnβt want it to chase and kill me
You're either referring to ||Trolls (Black Forest Biome) or Stone Golems (Mountain Biome)||
Trolls are forest-tier enemies. Real pain in the ass the first few times around
Nah, it was blue I think and in the mountain biome
Sounds like a Troll ventured into the Mountains Biome
Trolls are big blue fucks with enough ass hair for 5 generations of human history, golems are animated rocks
questionable description
Yeah, definitely a troll. So those things are just in the Black Forest?
Yep. Rarer spawn than most enemies but far from an endangered species.
I explored the entire Black Forest near my base and didnβt find one at all. Itβs not that big of a biome but still a pretty good size
Yep, Valheim thankfully features a mechanic where mobs of different biomes are classed under different factions.
The factions mechanic allows for mobs to fight each other without the players assistance. Mostly seen through Skeletons VS everything else in the black forest π
Usually bordering biomes for example meadows and swamp has boars entering the swamp and therefore slaughtered as a result.
Nice mechanic which livens up the 10th world of Midgard
It would be really funny if some biome had an enemy with harpoons so that they could pull ||serpents|| out of the water and fight
Might have to go back and challenge that troll then. Google said they are weak to arrows and are slow
Slow...... kinda, weak to arrows...... totally especially fire arrows
They're also weak to dodge rolls.
can blast furnaces really only cook 1 thing
Nope
what else does it cook
Progress and find out
I just opened it and its only cooking black metal...
Dont wanna spoil it
Yes blackmetal for now
Later on your gonna need it
Why are you cooking black's metal? Did you ask them first?
what-
thats a dumb question

Hello, Im just trying to look for beginners to play with. If anyone can point me into the correct direction, that'll be much appreciated.
Hi, welcome to the discord π
The best channel to find other players to enjoy Valheim with is the #1024264966712340510 channel
Just make sure to read the posting guidelines of that channel before posting π
2 star seekers are not nice, I went splat
2 star seekers, gross
2 star seekers ew
Wait until you meet 2 star of (Morning in German)
I just want to check, thereβs no way to get black metal without killing Moder, right?
Nope π
She is the one "hard" lock on progression π
You can kill fulings and get black metal scrap, but you cannot process it to ingots without killing Moder.
Thereβs no random buildings in Ashlands made from Black metal to dismantle?
nope
there isnt anything in the game that is made of black metal that is spawned naturally
Is there refined flametal in chests in Ashlands?
No.
Trying to figure out if itβs possible to get a level 5 cauldron without killing moder, I think maybe no
No it isnt
Nope, 2 of them require either black metal or flametal.
is silver arrow weaker on ashlands mobs than ice one (and why)?
im not sure but if for any reason it would be, it would be for spirit damage alone
Silver arrows are better against Warlocks and Lord Reto than Frost arrows, since both resist cold. All charred are weak against spirit.
yeah, so if regular charred are weak both to spirit and ice them why ice arrows are better π€
(and is it a good balancing choice since silver should shine at least partially in a demon-undead biome I think)
Technically they don't resist but are not weak against frost damage, so Frost arrows deal normal damage, but they resist pierce, which is why Frost arrows are still good against them.
but same about spirit?
All charred are weak against spirit.
yeah. is why i was wondering why silver arrows are worse than ice ones on regular charred
neutral to ice vs weak to spirit
since mointain already has obsidian arrows as regular ones, seems like silver ones should've been as heavily specialized on spirit damage as the ice ones are on, well, ice
If IronGate adds an even greater great sword
I will be the happiest viking on the 10th world
The problem is that the spirit and frost of both types of arrows is not in the same ratios, if silver arrows had the same spread of dmg as frost arrows they would be quite a bit better imo
I was having a blast swimming from a spire to spire in ashlands sea, getting closer to the shore with each spire I climbed out on to rest. Until I met one I couldn't climb on. lol
and that's with barley wine btw, which afaik extends the duration you can swim in there
the distabce between a lot of spires is prettu huge. Maybe that's cause I didn't take my ship farthest I could, instead trying spire hoping from the first spire I met
Nope, it provides fire resistance, not heat resistance.
Hmm. I remember reading it would take more time swimming in ashlands waters with it until you start getting boiled
Im still remembering my first time going to ashlands where I did not gett absolutely harassed by bonemaws
0 attacks
That is with certain ashlands armor π which provides the mentioned heat resistance that helps with the boiling waters and the lava.
Barley wine provides fire resistance that helps you when you are on fire
huh, maybe I got it mixed up then
If you're right then I wasted half a dozen of em for nothin lol
Meh, they are cheap π
The idea of lava/heat resistance potion came to my mind once but realized its quite useless because once you step in too far you're gonna melt fast
should I try swimming on a raft between two spires? (I imagine it, if doesn't break before i reach the next spire, would let me place workbench on that spire and have an easier time jumping on it)
How did you even get to the ashlands without making the new boat
Oh wait public tester
The raft would break too fast honestly
Im doing a second game with progress breaks
Even longship breaks quite fast once you get a bit further in π
darn it
But with feather cape you can reduce the time you're in the boiling water
By gliding to the next spire
yeeeah I already thought of it. Guess I'll have to make that cape
Thats what I did when I launched myself in ashlands with the catapult
Did not get very far so I just jumped from spire to spire
Yeah but to get catapult you first have to get to ashlands π
I was trying to get drynwyn
But didnt wanna make another base in another ashland island
The thought to reach ashlands as early as possible in a save with my friend just to get the molten cores excites me, but I haven't even done it myself (in solo save) yet... so will need to figure it out
Theres only 2 ways to get into ashlands
A - you use the drakkr
B - you use longship and get as close as possible to a spire and glide from spire to spire
Or any other ship π its possible even with raft to get to spires, you just have to be a bit lucky with world gen.
imagine your ship crashed near an unclimbable spire lmao
Spires boarding the ashlands ocean boarder
Death by 3rd degree burns
it didn't help that since I was closer to the shore it wasn't storming anymore (i was moving slowly, not on longboat). Otherwise the waves would help me to climb on it
Ashlands sailing theme best sailing theme
Anyway what followed next was a fun series of deaths (thanks to gods' mercy) in which I retrieved my corpse, swam a bit closer to the previous spire and got boiled down again, until I could finally got back with my stuff
btw didn't think of using core wood to bridge further. Simple idea I should think of more often
ist it 2 for a 4m log wall?
I cant remember honestly im just getting as much corewood as I can
Only one build piece for 4m
i thought "do some people bridges between spires with iron beams?" but that seems just wild
Iron is hard to transport there without enabeling portaling metal
tho whatever I wouldn't do for sweet feeling of taking on queen with ashlands gear
The queen is free royal jelly farm
and seeker meat for seeeker aespic
and other recipes
Infested mines are free royal jelly farms π
do seeker soldier respawn in the infested mines?
or just broods and regular seeker
and ticks
Regular seekers for sure, but i meant the jelly piles π
Good source aswell
And they respawn every 4 hours π
I prefer the queen bc not only am I getting free jellies and seeker meat, Im also leveling up my skill
on whatever weapon im using
And only normal seekers and ticks respawn as enemies in infested mines π
IM are probably the best source for bloodclots
Gjalls are still dangerous to fight especially with feather capr
Fire dmg is no joke
Meh, not really once you know them and have mistlands level gear
Ive been ambushed so many times by Gjalls
Any challenge ideas?
I've done 3 perma runs, all without magic. First was regular, second was bow only and third was 2h weapon light armor bowless run.
I have ongoing hard diff world but I feel bit unmotivated to continue that.
pantless?
no map?
Don't know about no map, or no portal one.
Maybe at some point, but not feeling like one.
reverse order bosses?
Not so familiar with all them glitches like getting to Queen's lair without sealbreaker.
And still might want to stick with permadeath.
If you know how long it generally takes you to progress through each phase of the game.
You could try time trials for each boss.
I'm generally well experienced with progressing all biomes.
What does this "time trial" mean then?
Setting timer to get the certain boss killed under?
Lets say you normally take half a hour to kill first boss. 3 hours for second.
Set a time limit to do so before it expires or you fail.
Such as 20 minutes and 2 hours.
However you wanted to set that up
Hmm, interesting idea.
I still usually like to take my time, but that could be one for the future.
Because I like to build too usually in my runs.
It would also be something to research over a few more play throughs.
Every time you play. Track your progress on a timesheet.
When you decide to play with a limitation. You know your current experience limits.
I'll take notes on that. Good idea for later time.
One of my goals is working towards being a speedrun player. Learning a little each playthrough to be faster.
My perma runs have been limiting some gear options, like my 2h run I limited using bows/xbows and armor that reduces ms, so that included also Root Harnesk/set. I used spear as my only ranged option too.
My nephew and I did a rank 1 troll armor playthrough last time.
On very hard. We died. A lot.
Playing through only with troll armor?
Yes. He is the self proclaimed king of rolling.
Could be fun π good luck with Yag
Tho for him and bonemass there are armor pieces that can give you the resistances
I've beaten Yag while wearing Fenris set before, so not that bad. Or just getting wet to get short temporal fire res.
Yag dealt quite lot damage in Hard diff even with fire res wine. I got myself constantly wet to reduce the burning debuff.
Mountain could be challenge at first without frost meads.
Lots of campfires needed π
Yeah, or if I can find early mountain cave.
I would try to get just few pieces of silver as fast as i can using campfires and them going for some loxes to make cape π
Yeah, also depends what weapon types I exclude.
Bow would be easy.
No food. Itβs time.
I'm not that extreme. π₯²

I thought you were rioting over pancakes too.
worst case. if we would to add panncakes, people would be upset that they "are the wrong type of panncake" π
not even sweden labels panncakes the same across the country
Damn it, stop making me hungry
People get upset if you breath the wrong air. I stopped caring what other people want a long time ago lol
this is not panncakes
No. π
Those are flap jacks
Pikelets?
this isn't panncakes either
Whatevs, I'll eat it all regardless.
That is nothing like a flapjack.
Yeah those are crepes.
Ovencake
Im offended your using the word normal
What is wrong with everyone?
For normal Nordic people?
I mean.. we invented the damn thing
I'm offended that you're uploading pics of all this delicious food and I can't eat any of it.
You can make some. π½οΈ
Hmm did we? Wasn't aware.
[citation needed]
Sauce?
To be fair, only Smiffe is uploading images. We can't
I don't count the greece people. but swedes have done pancakes since 1538 atleast π€
I didn't know we could ignore entire populations of people. In that case I invented the Onion Ring.
Hmm yes, the origin of that kind of pancakes that are made in oven is from Nordics. There are also many variations in other countries.
I wonder why we call crepes pancakes.
a CrepΓ© is a thinn pancake
and they have more egg than normal pancakes
and you fill crepΓ© with wierd stuff
I don't.
crepΓ©
Pancake. π
Oh, you can do that but I'm happy with maple syrup.
According to few articles even old romans and greeks had a version of thin, sweet pancake π€
Greeks don't count remember.
I'm having fun with no metal perma but i'm only 1 attempt in so that might change
Swedish Pancakes
3 eggs
1 1/2 cups whole milk (+ 1/4 cup β see notes)
1 cup flour
3 tablespoons melted butter
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
Crepe
2 large eggs
Β½ cup milk
Β½ cup water
ΒΌ teaspoon salt
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons butter, melted
What's this cup nonsense?
What the heck is a DL?
Ah, a dL. Gotcha.
If per hour then DL/H π
I don't dare ask.
Good morning, I was watching the trailer on Steam for the game Project: Gorgon, and I saw that some items were almost copies of some of the forge items in Valheim. Is that normal?
Almost copies or actually copies?
Unless there's another Project Gorgon I don't see anything similar to Valheim in this MMO from 2018...
Minute 0:21 of the trailer.
The models do look really really similar to the grinding wheel, forge cooler and forge bellows.
You know they look similar because they're both based on real things, right?
you stack'em up, about 6-8, pour syrup on'em then roll'em up. π
pure maple syrup btw, not that "other stuff"
See, this is why we keep you lot around.
Cups aren't even a measurement, they're a vague suggestion.
If you wanted Imperial liquid measurements you'd used fluid ounces.
π₯² this guy
bzzzt! I still have stuff that measures in cups etc. and yes, it used fl oz. Measure cups have both imperial and metric on'em here. (for those of us that grew up with proper imperial measurments) π
8oz = 1 cup.
1 cup = 250 ml
Hate to break it to you but the Empire is gone. And you left anyway.
backs away slowly
Should I start a vh world?
is there a creative mode in this i think i turned it on accidently i just managed to place 8 bee hives with 1 queen bee. how do i turn it of?
Leave the game, load your map and switch to the "world modifier" part.
You most likely have turned the "no build cost" modifier on.
ah right thanks alot
does anyone want to start up a new word?
#1024264966712340510 Will have what you are looking for
tyyyy
Gotta be something off with the (limited) water on your island smiffe, ugnspannkaka is what that is. Pannkaka is as the name implies made in a proper frying pan you heathen..
I think they are the same models π€
SmiffeGifs/hour or Smiffe Chat Derails / hour
Left over from when things came from the asset store?
possibly
The game has been out longer than Valheim.
don't know exactly what is from that time or not
the boar and deer I know 100%
but there are a bunch others probably still around from that time
Either this isn't a clone issue like some of the others. It's a very different game.
At this axe throwing bar me and my friends go to, thereβs this game you can play (it projects the game onto the board) that has these boar you have to aim at, and we always get a good laugh because theyβre exactly like/similar to the Valheim boar π
βAim for the Valheim boar! Double points for 2 star!β
Just a question are all bosses bow based?
I don't think any of them have a bow.
Sorry I meant like mainly requiring a bow to damage them ?
For example the first boss everyone says use a bow to kill it but is it possible with just melee?
Because ranged just seems to easy
No, many bosses resist pierce damage to prevent bow spam, in fact.
Oh great thanks
Yes it's possible to melee, it's more fun too imo
All bosses can easily be killed with melee weapons, but one can fly temporarily making melee less viable
Faster to melee as well
7, and there will be one more with 1.0
7, 3.5 mini-bosses
Ah sick
Who's the .5?
Sealed tower has 2 mini bosses but it's the same ''quest''
Very true, that's somewhere between mini and boss too
Yeah he eats my lunch for sure.
Heβs just a miniboss
I'll just tell myself that next time I am about to go into his lair.
we want the American definition of pancakes even though it takes place in Sweden

name it smashcakes or something

more American bullshit
schrimcakes
no, those are shaped like saxophones
Huh...
schrimcakes are shaped like saxophones

https://discordapp.com/channels/391142601740517377/1202313314856603658/1362515152120975460 fun fact, the name smashcakes was made by smiffe
I am looking at using the "Equipment and Quick Slots" mod. We have a G-Portal server. Does everyone need to have this installed to play together?
You should ask in #mods-discussion for things involving mods. The main channels are for the game as it's designed.
TinyHomeGaming on the case. Love it! Thanks @frigid gust
When is the far north?
We don't know when the Deep North will be.
Everyone asking when Deep North, no one asking how is Deep North.
Most likely not in 2025
As long as it's not as shitty as the ashlands
Ashlands isn't shitty so I don't know what to say.
Ashlands certainly has its failures but it's not shitty
not a very unique biome, and boring in addition
how is it not unique?
Probably one of the most unique biomes in the game, but I can get the boring.
Metal based on the Leviathan principle, the same dwarves, skeletons, current slightly modified, there is no meaning in fortresses at all
This is purely my opinion.
I know.
the dwarves arent exactly the same they are a completely different mob then the ones found in ashlands, the fortresses are one of the few places in the game you can build a base that cant be destroyed by mobs
Can be destroyed by mobs tho
the stairs yes the walls no
I think Fader can destroy all of it π€
spikes as well cant be destroyed by them either
i cant speak for what fader can do i havent fought it yet
dwarves are dwarves, a fortress is meaningless because a battering ram loses its direct purpose, the central tower can generally be broken with a pickaxe, and you can clear it of mobs with one staff without getting a haircut.
The only Fader is an awesome boss, that's probably the whole uniqueness of the biome, and in the side quest for the sword, but not in the sword
the battering ram and catapult arent that useful when you can just go over the walls i can agree there
i still find it to be very different then other places in the game even if there is some similarities, to some extent thats to be expected at least imo
Each biome was unique in almost everything. Here, in the ash lands, it's just a little bit with some developments.
is there a way to remove biome structures so that the different music doesn't play
Probably not
there are things that are in multiple biomes thoughout the game as is, i would have to say the most unique ones are plains/mistlands and to some extent ashlands more then the others, the others have some of the same mobs and vegetation, the only thing plains has that isnt unique to it is birch trees but even those themselves are some what unique
Just spent a half hour sorting out some Boar taming, one of the Boars being 1-Star, only for a Greydwarf Raid to immediately hit and then a Shaman AOEs both to death because I didn't have time to set up a wall to keep Raids away from the pen...

Fortresses are literally key to the ashlands
idk where this goes but this is sick https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3242679133
its a valheim wallpaper
for wallapaper engine
its animated to its super cool
#fanart probably if it's yours.
aint mine lol im nowhere near that good just wanted to share it
why has no one done one of those 100 players simulate civilization videos in valhiem
caps at 10 pretty sure
mods
The game will fall over long before 100 and is completely inappropriate for that sort of thing.
some students in the US managed tons of users. can't remember if it was 50 or 150 π€
100 players would literally be a stress test for the game
That would serve no purpose for a single player game with optional co-op.
there are 100 player servers, there's that one riverheim one that's 100 person that a bunch of twitch people regularly stream
Are troll trophies used for anything?
Yes
I have 2 but no recipes yet
it would be fun.
Valheim as a single player game is so depressing and less fun. It's much more like a co-op game with optional single player
Wouldnβt both solo and co-op both be optional? π€
If you have friends to begin with
I dont π₯²
I am solo 99% of the games I played
Are duel blades a thing in valheim im feining for a pair
they are yea to some extent, you cant exactly dual wield but you can get weapons that act like that
Oh would you happen to know which weapons I could get ?
daggers and axes i think atm
Sweet thanks
I've tamed some pet boars and wolves so I never have to play alone π
Thats a good idea
None my friends wanna buy the game cause it looks "boring" a pack of wolves will do
hrmm I opened a door in a mine to find a whole buncha seekers, a soldier, a 2 star, a 1 star and a few regular seekers... i've got a few bodies in there now lol
this mine is brutal, 3 soldiers in it so far and half a dozen 1 star seekers but i did get 4 sealbreaker frags
black cores is what you really want, youll only need 9 of the seal breakers; also the brutes usually cant fit through doorways so use that to your advantage
i got 6 black cores from it too, i don't think i need anymore of those tho, least not for now, i think I'm ready to go get murdered by the queen tomorrow
youll want more then that at least 10 depending on how you play probably more later on
if you got the forge and the refinery for the time being that should be all you need if you want go magic at any point youll need to get some more
It would appear that the developers have changed how much silver gets generated in mountains. We have never found so many veins in such close proximity, on one mountain before. Which I think is fantastic, but it does cut down on how many mountains we need to explore. Could be just an exceptional result for the world creation. Then again, several of the early mountains were barely big enough to even have obsidian. So maybe it still tracks with how it used to be.
I do get a kick out of the new skills, and how they can give you extra crop items, or extras arrows, things like that. I recently got 20 extra onions from a 300 onion harvest. so that was nice.
How do I delete/remove an LFG post i made?
I've not been able to find more than 2 cultists in 4 large'ish mountains, so I'm still exploring many mountains
Can we have shaders in valheim ?
Shaders? Valheim like any game already has a bunch of shaders so you can actually see things, but there might be mods which change or add some for whatever reason. #mods-discussion
#screenshots message @near furnace Looking at the horizon, it seems like there is land route in that direction.
probably a huge lake between start and eikthyr
That remain to be seen.
I've decided the challenging aspect of my new run: no meads, no Forsaken powers, no Harnesk.
Godspeed on that.
Oooh, nice π
I really wonder how...
while I know it was a patch with game logic in mind, it kind of makes me regret we never really clean these forsaken halls of the seekers infestation
Bugs are notoriously hard to get rid of once they are somewhere π
Also, we are there to raid, not to clean.
No Harnesk part won't hurt me as much since last run I managed without it, but the lack of Ratatosk tonic will.
Tbh i almost never use the harnesk π but the ratatosk would hurt me too
I also haven't during my last 2 runs (bow only and 2h only*).
it just felt nice first time i cleared the mine and thought it was clean of these disgusting creatures haha
bomb em mate
is there a channel where i can look for players to play with? i'm kinda new to valheim and i've been wanting to play with people
The best place to find players is via the #1024264966712340510 channel. Either look through posts looking for people or make your own.
#1024264966712340510 is your best bet.
okay thank you!
Everything that has been invented for fortresses is unnecessary garbage, there is a ladder and trolls
Lets see, without fortresses there wouldn't be a boss vegvesir, there wouldn't be any boss spawn items, there wouldn't be any magic in the ashlands, there wouldn't be any enchanted weapons
You can find fader veg in Ashlands ruins I think
Wiki says fortress only, never see one in the ruins
You can find in ruins too. But they're bit rarer.
π€
Check here for example: #screenshots message
Huh, never see that before
Interesting
On which page exactly?
So fortresses are not the only locations where you can find vegvisirs for Fader.
Interested in that too which wiki page says that fortresses only.
Hmmm, a different page says "rarely ontop of charred ruins" you would think that would be mentioned on the fader page
Maybe faders could be understood like that, since it doesent mention ruins, but it doesent state that they can be only in the fortresses eithe
Ah, so it was faders
I suppose
They're Fader vegvisirs in those ruins.
https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Fader mention added π
Did you just add it or was I completely blind
Just added it π
Ok, I'm not going crazy then
You edit wiki too?
Asatru is all powerful so obviously
Yep, tho not much lately and if then some smaller stuff π
Did you fix the Midsummer Crown recently as well?
I see the creation window is correct now.
Nope, that was not me, didnt even know something was wrong with it
How was it wrong?
Ah, i see it now, Derek fixed it π
If you found something wrong on the wiki, why not change it yourself?
Used to say June to October.
Don't know how.
That makes sense.
Its not that hard to learn really, but whats important is for the info you put there to be actually accurate π
And if you dont want or care to learn how to do it then just bring it up here and usually someone notices it, or ping me and i will try to fix stuff or bring it up to other people who take care of wiki π
Thanks for explaining instead of condescending. I appreciate and will bug you with wiki stuff from now on because you're right, I don't want or care how to update it.
Okay, you missed an opportunity to make Cosmo go crazy.
I know
was thinking about playing the "Its been there this whole time" card but seemed little mean.
"Are you sure?"
You have the logic of a five year old. I wasn't saying that they just need to be removed or anything like that, but how sloppy this job is.
The fortresses initially looked different according to the concepts.
Didn't look like anything, they're literally concepts. I.e. nothing had been made yet.
I went to go chop trees down and got attacked by a troll and like 20 greydwarfs
That sounds about right.
It was published by the developers, not the concepts that were created by fans.
Derek didn't say anything that would suggest this isnt true π
mew?
Indeed, I was referring to the developer's concept art π
But concepts are just concepts, nothing more
Again, that was literally my point.
Those red beacon light thingys on the made some players think there would be dungeons in them
That and there are three different designs, when we only got one
tbh, i would have liked to see a dungeon behind the second door and to some extent i was a little surprised there wasnt; also some of those designs would have been nice to see as variations
Those concepts meet "reality" and had to be scaled to what was possible in terms of spawn size
Any of these even looks more interesting
Grimcore did say he thought it would be cool to have something inside of the fortresses like a dungeon but they ran out of time
Wild suggestion to the Fortress; Have a No-build zone around it, so we can't just ||rise ground and cheese our way|| over the wall :p

You could still cheese it
Can you use battle axes on trees
catapult and the cheezy feather fall cape
even if the dungeons were small ones it would still add to it, i expected (if there were dungeons) something either like the ones in mistlands or the black forest
Will there be lower tier weapons added to the game before/at the same time/after deep north ? Or is early equipment kind of set in stone for vanilla ?
love the 2h swords
At the very least this would require far more setup than the oleβ workbench+ladder technique, and would likely require defeating a fortress in the first place π€
But that's a fun way π If you land within the walls, you whould have no safe space without jumping over the wall again
low tier weapons?
my current map the first fortress i came across had a big rock spawn right next to it so it was easy to just jump the wall off it =/
Like a bronze 2h sword for example, I like the way ashlands does tons of weapons and enchants
Earlier crossbow would be so cool π€
haven't seen any bronze 2h swords π€
That's what I'm asking, like is it planned to be something or not
I hope the far north brings a tool like a shovel to make snow blocks that can be built in a pinch without a workbench
Well we know from a teaser that there is more than likely going to be a new fist weapon
Like if thereβs an ice storm and u need to get inside but ur in the middle of nowhere
I'm not really wondering about Deep north and past ashlands stuff, I'm wondering if devs will go back to bronze/Iron/Silver and add weapon types that are only available in mistlands or ashlands rn.
oh? so these aren't just decorations? π¦
MOAR FISTS
im hoping that the dvergr comments about their home make their way into the game
Silver atgier when
like that for example, I'm partial to 2h swords all the way tough
I wonder what the inspiration might have been π€
My guess <---- GUESSING NOW. is this guy
The fang spear is so cheap I might just make a bunch and use them as throwing weapons for bosses
whos that???
daddy
ha
Huge Jacked Man
Partial nude variations of those armor sets when?
Hot summer collection? π

There was that lewd model for Ask set you published on Instagram some time ago before Ashlands update.
Hmmmm... yeah, I need to learn about the Bog Witch. She did not exist the last time my wife and I played.
If your world has any unexplored swamps, try finding those and see if she spawns
My father started a world a few years ago and i found haldor in my world, he tried to find haldor but never did
We used seed map as well
So you went near a spawn location and they didn't spawn?
Weird.
It might be an update issue
Thats what I am thinking. There should be a Haldor in every world.
The way each of the traders works is that they have 10 possible locations, and the first one that is encountered within ~400 meters is the one where the trader spawns
We have plenty of unexplored swamps, I am sure. We have revealed very little of this world, so far. But we have found the first 4 bosses. Just looking for Yag.
Oh same
In case it's an old world, the locations of the spawn points of undiscovered traders will swift to different places after content update, so it will then not show the correct locations if you are looking at the world map generator site.
The good thing for our current game is we found Haldor shockingly fast. We found him before we got to the closest Elder.
lucky, that belt comes in handy real quick
Lucky, the belt is the best
It does. Kind of a rule for me to have that belt before I do iron.
I agree, gonna need that belt
I also love the Dvergr light source, helps me out with my old eye issues.
Im going to get that before I go back into the mistlands
I don't think it will help with mistland, you'll need to get a wisplight for mistland if you want to see better
It reflects off the fog too much to be useful to me. The dungeons have been lit well enough to not feel a need for it there either.
I havenβt beaten yagluth yet though
youll need to in order to explore mistlands in a decent way
wat ar ya waitin for !?
you "can" do it but it isnt fun
That will always be my favorite boss battle. My first time fighting him, along with my wife, was truly epic for us.
I started to explore it to get Krom before I defeated moder π
youre far better off getting the wisplight, for a more enjoyable experience in mistlands
100% agree.
I trust yall, it was a horrible time there
i can imagine lol
The Mistlands gives you plenty of reasons to have a horrible experience without also being blind. π
It was successful, so thatβs good, I got both krom and arbalist
The magic system has not grown on me, my wife doesn't like it either. So its really nice that normal combat stays viable.
not a fan of magic either, when I tried it, firepower didn't justify the loss in stamina and survivability
summoning trolls is cool but not really effective
So would it be worth going to get magic before yag?
ITs like the rest of it, it gets better with skill increases. I just prefer good old weapons over the spells.
Depends what you mean by ''worth it'', it could be fun, it will make Krom and arbalest useless to you if you use magic
Would it be worth the time and effort
I'd proably like magic if we got it earlier in the game. Just by Mistlands my most desired skills are in the 60's and 70's, if not higher. It would take forever for me to get magic on par with that.
you dont have to go full magic either, for some spells you need more eitr then others but you can run one food and use some of the magic still; the Staff of Protection is nice to have to even just toss on and take a hit for you if your in a rough spot or going into a rough fight
Yeah, I know. I have given it more than a fair shake. I do have nearly 5,000 hours on this game...
Trying to mix and match magic isn't worth it imo. you lose out on armor, health and stamina for a spell you can't spam.
No mods, either.
you dont need to use the mage equipment, you can still run full heavy armor with 1 eitr food and be fine
granted its not ideal but it does still work depending on what you are trying to do
you won't regen eitr so you wouldn't run eitr food without mage gear? I can guarantee it doesn't work on hard/very hard, maybe on easy/normal it's somewhat viable
I need 100% of my health and armor to even have a chance at blocking regular mobs
you still regen it just not as fast
Yeah, I ate a mage cap and eitr regen is slow
the foods you can make will give you a larger pool to cast from, i know when i did the queen fight for the first time i ran with 1 of each food type while my friend went with 2x hp 1 stam, even though i wasnt able to spam spells i was still have to use the Staff of Protection to eat hits and it helped even if it was only one hit
The important thing is it was fun
Well thatβs good
Yeah, our fun is with the types of weapons we have used since Eikthyr. The summoning and bubble of protection are nice, though. I really enjoyed those when I ran servers and had magic players casting those for me. Magic simply is not for me. I tend to favor melee over magic in pretty much every game I play.
im usually much the same and i will agree that the late introduction of magic really made me not want to use it all that much which is why i only really stuck with the staff of protection vs the other ones
βTHE FOREST IS MOVINGβ is what I was told right before I got jumped and died
Yeah, to give it a fair try out, I made everything, used everythiing. Just as is par for the course with me, at the end of the day, I prefer melee.
Same, there is something about parry/staggered hits that feels right
Welcome to Valheim! The first of many fine deaths to come!
i also now found the bog witch
Iβm never dying again. Died twice in one day. Once to a troll and once to the forest
Yeah, thats my wife and I's plan once she is off work. find the witch.
is pet rock still in the game?
gg, give that broom a bop on the nog
Enitrely doable. I have done play throughs without dying. Before the Mistlands existed. Now I only get to the Mistlands without dying. Unless its been a year+ since I last played. I've died 3 or 4 times this play through.
i like the bog witch music
I think so. I saw it on a news release about a month ago.
yea bob it is
although idk if its a pet, ive gotten some but i havent done anything with it, just tossed it in a chest and have left it since
thank you cel
what does pet rock do
The most times I died was when I was fighting eikthyr, I had a bad computer, very slow
It does this
that makes me really thonk
Iβm thinking about downloading this game cause itβs only $10 on PC Gamepass
Do it.
But Iβve never played and I want someone to play with
From the looks of it, itβs like Viking Minecraft, right?
ITs probably my favorite game of all time, and its not even done. Been my favorite for close to 4 years now. So yeah, buy it.
You can find someone to play with in #1024264966712340510 and itβs very different to minecraft
agreed 100%
at $10 its well worth the price
It has some very general similarities to Minecraft, but definitely not the same.
i like it more then minecraft
same
Interesting
Same. I have thousands of hours on Valheim, maybe 200 hours on Minecraft.
Do you guys ever play it solo?
Do it, so worth it
I have but itβs much better with others
interesting stuff that the bog witch is selling but i fogor the money
Every time I try not to die. Playing with others gets me killed by their stupidity.
i do quite often ive played with others as well
I figured
Iβve been
Im looking for people to play with though
I've ran Valheim servers, so agree its also a lot of fun with others. But I have to accept that I am going to die in those games.
its a fun game whether you play solo or with people
both have their pros and cons but still fun either way
Its a bit of a slog solo. Not so bad if you set your world to allow ores through portals, though.
ive never used the allow ores through portals i feel the sailing in the game is an important aspect to it
I agree, but again, I have over 4,000 hours on this game. So I give myself such allowances now a days.
fair i do that with somethings as well, ive done all the stuff in the game numerous times over
I stick to such rules when I do zero death attempts, though. Which I have not done in well over a year now, so...
i play solo 90% of the time, most of the people i know dont want to play through again for w/e reason
Man, now I want to check all my old worlds. I THINK I finally did a zero death run all the way through the Queen before I stopped playing last time, but I am not sure.
She is definitely the toughest boss for me to beat, but I have not finished Ashlands either.
you could recruit some friends from ashlands >.>
wait nvm it doenst work like that on the first attempt
$10 on steam as well
I bought the game about a week ago and Iβve enjoyed playing it so far
Is it normal to have multiple bases around your world? I didn't think of making a second one until now but the elder is so far away from my current. Could end up being a full day trip
Depends on your play style. I go one normal base + portals to outposts
i usually make a few but not until later on mainly when crops require specific biomes
I started with friends but then switched to playing it solo. Donβt get me wrong, it is great with friends, but this game is my little sanctuary. I play it to calm down. I can choose what to build, how to build it, I can set my own speed and if I want to spend 200 hours building before killing the next boss, then itβs my choice π but thatβs also great with other people. I just play it alone for now
How do you make portals?
need fine wood, surtling cores, and greydwarf eyes
Surtling cores, greydwarf eyes, finewood. Under the misc tab in the hammer menu.
I need to get more cores and about to make a bronze axe for fine wood
If you have cheat portals, you don't need too make multiples bases until plains to grow flax and barley. If you don't have cheat portals you'll probably make a base everytime you kill a boss and move on to next biome. Or, you could sail back your metals everytime but that's not very efficient imo.
It's not too bad once you have a ||longship and you make sure to completely fill it with ore before sailing back||
It's one trip for every ||540|| ore, you barely ever have to make it
100%, it's not too bad when you're geared and farming metals for your base but trying to fill a longboat when you've just discovered iron and don't have a forge set-up yet is a whole task
Its easier once you know what you have to do and when. Like if you know what you need when you go to get iron, for example. Process it there, or an adjacent, safer, biome.
much better to grab your forge and crafting station upgrade with you to the swamp than bring the iron back home to your stations imo ( I say swamp but, every biome)
Again, once you know what your going to have to do. Not the usual case for a first timer.
So how do portals work?
for the most part a pocket portal and a longship work out fine for swamp, given the run isnt that long to the shore, at least for me
Name 2 portals with the same tag to link them
Its not nessecary to make new main bases but its nice to have them
One for your base, one for the destination. Give them the same name to connect them.
Pocket portal and a boat is all well and good until your portal breaks and you have to sail another 60 minutes on a raft to go get your tomb
Your main base should be where most of you needs are in
portals on top of crypts ftw
Capitalization is important with portal names π I also keep an unnamed one for a pair to my pocket portal, I only name my more permanent ones, and make them a permanent partner in my base.
- Guard your portal better
- Keep some materials set aside for an extra boat
Do I need to have 1 portal in my base for each location or can it 1 teleport to all locations?
Yeah, an un named pair are also connected.
You can use one and rename it
A pair each time.
Or keep renaming one to match which one you want to go to.
You can rename the portal in your base every time if you want, some people like "dialing" portals like that to save on materials. But it means you need to keep track of all the names of the various target portals. I prefer to just make a big portal hub and have them all named permanently there.
... or don't rely on a single portal on a faraway island in the new biome you unlocked
i always have a temp blank portal set up at my main base so i can just drop one and it connects, i have a bunch of "dumping chests" around so i can dump and go back, sort it after when im doing do w/e it is im doing
My preference is to also have dedicated pairs.
I usually make three bases maybe 4 depending on how biomes are laid out. Your meadows base should be good all the way up to mountain progression. Then you can, if youβre lucky, put up a base on a biome line between mists and plains so that you can grow both the crops at one base, if not youβll have to separate the two, then youβll need an ashlands base.
It also means I get to have fun designing and building a fun portal hub after I get enough portals to make it worthwhile π
For random traveling I also have one back home named "Travel" to use to go home whenever I need to.
I usually make a large wooden base in the meadows with my gardens and boar farm, then turn it into a portal hub once I move on to a new base
atm i have 10 bases 4 of those are for fishing alone though
I do a home in the Meadows, then the Plains, then the Mistlands, mostly because I have to to safe guard the biome specific crops.
Thatβs what I do with my swamp tree house outpost.
Heh, I'll have to make a swamp portal base some time. The lighting will be perfect.
I like to try to find a good place where the mists and plains are next to each other on defendable and/or aesthetic, non misty areas. Iβm not always that lucky though.
So far I have found a mountain biome to MOSTLY build in, with the garden portion going over into the Mistlands.
Then I do an outpost in a safe spot in the ashlands until I take a fortress and the fortress becomes my new home.
Nice, that is probably a fun build
Yeah, I am still pretty new to the Ashlands. Been waiting for the final biome to be finished before really putting in the time/effort to learn the last bits of this game.
That wonβt be done until next year, ashlands is super tough, you probably want to get used to it before deep north, you never know how much harder that biome will be.
You. Will. Die. In the Ashlands, and probably a lot. Itβs a learning curve for sure.
I've played around in the Ashlands, gathered mats, taken over a few fortress', done some building, but not really getting into it yet.
I'd have to look to see if I died in the Ashlands yet. I don't recall dying there yet.
generally youll die when you first land, as you tend to get swarmed by everything
You're bound to die when you first land
I may have. Just not a lot.
I die all the time there, even after landing and establishing an outpost
Its been over a year since I last played in the Ashlands.
Even having flametal gear ashland will still find a way to kick your a**
Its straight up a warzone between you, the dvergrs, and the ashland army
guys ive been playing valheim for almost 10 hours check my profile
this game will do that to you xd
why so little?
The same has been said about the swamps, then the plains, then Mistlands, now Ashlands. The same will be said about the North.
Another poor soul has been claimed
Rookie numbers.
dude i literally have almost 100 hours in the game and i bought the game just over a week ago
Gotta pump those numbers up.
its a great game to just get lost in
Last I knew, very few had over 4,000 hours like me. Smiffe was close. One or two others...
so real dude me and my friend been getting really into it imma purchase merch soon
im currently sitting at almost 3.6k hrs
Yeah, I think you were around when I was last active here.
Im half way to 1k
Even my wife has over 1,000 hours, and she has a full time job. But all our kids are grown and moved out, so that helps.
I'm retired, have been for about 10 years now. So thats why I have so many hours.
i got this when covid started so i had a lot of time on my hands
Thats back when my friends and I were playing together. Then they went back to work.
to be honest i played a decent amount on console and everytime ive looked for a game on steam valeheim popped into view but i waited it out and recently it was on sale and my friend suggested we both get it so we did and weve been grinding since
Cool. For first time players my most important piece of advice would be, "Take it slow. Enjoy it as much as possible your first time." I can say that about a few other things too, but not here.
Definitely feeling the difficulty spike of the Swamp
Swamp is where the fun starts
"fun" lol
Very fun
Is the sword the best bronze melee weapon?
does anyone else like naming their boars after actual norse names or just me?
It's really funny annoying one of my friends by taking my sweet time with each biome. She's all like "GO FIGHT THE BOSS YOU HAVE EVERYTHING PREPARED" and I'm like noooooo I need to finish filling up this longship with scrap iron
Singleplayer world being screenshared in a VC btw, not like a server or anything like that
I did at one point, but now I don't name them. I only have breeders, so not naming them enables me to just slaughter whichever 3 I get to first in each group.
i see
youll want the iron for later, so its worthwhile sticking around in the swamps and getting a good supply at least for the time being
Yeah, getting "plains ready" is making me remember why I wanted to have a lot of iron in my chests, even after all my gear was fully levelled.
after i get iron i spend a lot of time upgrading my main base and expanding storage its one of my few "stopping points" in the game
The silver veins were so plentiful, we have twice as much silver, with no where near a need for it like we have for iron. π
I think this is the first time we ever made our silver gear tier 4.
I'm old, so don't quote me on that.
frostner/draugr fang are my goto weapons when i get to mountains so i always max those out, the gear i sometimes do and sometimes dont depends on how things are going
They are pretty effective even without that last 45 silver upgrade, so I think I have never done tier 4. I might have, especially in my solo zero death attempts. Those few extra points can be the difference between living and dying.
#screenshots message Found a route without a raft, lol.
lol. 3 eikthyr so close π
And all so far from the spawn point, literally black forest between too.
Don't remember when I had this kind of start.
Actually, I once had a seed where there was troll cave very close to the spawn point.
Getting fun speculation thoughts going, what if we get yaks in the Deep North for taming? Could get milk from them for making cheese, and with cheese comes a wide variety of dishes.
Aren't Lox pretty yak like?
Yaks? π€
not very scandinavian
Giant moose?
moose isn't yak π
I was suggesting an alternative...
american god damn again
lets add AR-15's, Abraham tanks and bald eagles while we are at it
Did they change something about those flame metal ore towers? ive mined the whole tower's ores and it didn't start to sink at all.
ye
They've changed the chance of sinking to 1%.
Yes. I wouldn't have said it otherwise.
Now that it's mentioned, lox are basically cattle. Wish we could milk them. The cheese awaits!
Sword, Atgeir, Mace, and Spear all have their strengths.
Generally the Atgeir is seen as "best", but each of the above has an argument to be made for it.
Atgier is great for crowd control, but a lot of things seem to resist pierce damage.
Lots of Black Forest enemies are weak to pierce, though.
Skeletons are resistant though, as is The Elder iirc.
loxes are basicly an Ox with Lizard head
hence LizardOx name
Trolls are weak against pierce, skeletons resist and greydwarves don't resist or are weak to it.
Ah wait, yeah, my brain short circuited.
I meant to say that the most important Black Forest enemy is weak to pierce. Mb.
God forbid you run into a 1-Star Troll without pierce damage, let alone a 2-Star.
At that point you click F and get out of there
I made a mace because it was most similar to the wooden club I was already using
Organizing your stuff to your best has got to the most tedious thing ever
The sword Is generally the most newbie friendly since it works well agains almost anything π
Jack of all trades
so much better when you get things sorted though
Yeah
I just realized that said best instead of base
i read it as base anyways
Im prioritizing my new kitchen since I spend quite a bit of time in it
a worthwhile endeavor
Yep, while not many enemies are weak against slash dmg, there are not many that resist it either π
Wait, so is the only way to get armor to protect yourself from freezing to go into the Mountain biome to get it?
And where can i get that potion?
from the mead ketill, frost resistance mead
The mountain im currently on only has one cave. No fenrin (however you spell them) spawned in it. Could I come back in a few days and they might spawn again? Im tryin gto get the fur to make the claw weapon
Nope, frost caves do not respawn enemies π
so if they were never in it they never will be?
Yep
will they spawn on the mountain at night to farm the fur or do I need nother cave system
thanks for the answers btw
Youβll need to find more caves to find more materials for the fenris set π
The fenrings (werewolf looking guys) that spawn at night donβt have any drops beyond wolf fangs and their trophies.
Crypts are terrifying. Are ghosts usually in those?!?
Scared me a lot. I was trying to practice parry in a crypt when i got jumped by ghosts.
Thatβs a really tough enemy to practice parrying on
Troll:
Charred warriors
2** Charred warriors
on very hard π
Ah still remember that time when I had to face one

well first attempt at queen was a terrible failure π
What are you running?
mist sword, black metal shield and carapace armor
Are they upgraded?
yup
Any form of aoe? ooze/bile bomb, demolisher?
He probably cant make demolisher as he mentioned he is using BMS
so he is out of refined eitr
Should go and get some then tbh lol
If the queen is a struggle then you're gonna want all the resources and tools you have for the ashlands
i wasn't really expecting to kill her first attempt blind lol
With good stamina management and dodge rolls, they're perfectly doable even without pierce.
Im going to fight yagluth, anyone want to fight him or have tips to fight him?
Use the altar fingers to block meteor, and bring fire resistance wine
Alright, would frostner be good for him
I have both, as well as krom if thatβs good for him
hi everyone
Hi
i get that ghosts are uncommon but in my recent playthrough i had a chamber with 5 ghosts wjich tends to make me think they are pretty common
Krom that early?
Is this your first time fighting yagluth?
I went ahead to the mistlands before fighting moder and yes this is my first
Ah so early mistlands exposure
Tough but worth it
The best weapons against yagluth are silver sword and frostner
Sword out dps frostner but yea
indeed.
will be sets like the Ask set that will give more than 10 percent damage?
no one knows
Alright thanks a lot
I hope the developers will change this to a bonus for the spear skill, otherwise it's strange
Silver sword has less stam per swing right?
Lemme see
Ah
Same stamina use but sword has more spirit, frostner has frost though
Ah nice
So frostner would be best because he is resistant to slash
no
he's not resistant to slash lol
he's neutral to slash
Silver sword does a total of 105 dmg, frostner does a total of 95 to yagluth
Whatever source that is it's just wrong
Oh ok
Oh ok thanks
Always best to consult the valheim wiki before other sources
I will keep that in mind definitely
@shy marlin How do you like the state of your kitchen valheim?
Overly organized or all over the place
Uh
Depends on the run, in like a casual I'm just playing the game run, really organized and neat
In a ultra giga sweat lord i'm doing something insane run it's scattered and there's zero order
Hugee
The farmables are all in one categories of chest
I like to think I'm a pretty competent builder but the one thign I struggle a lot with is interiors
The potions are above the fermenters
I struggle alot with the interior and exterior
A kitchen? That's a whole warehouse!
The deepnorth resources will be seperate because I couldnt fit anymore in that space
All the food storage you can image is right there in that singular kitchen
Quite happy on how it turned out
"smh, I don't have enough space in my warehouse"
Next up is the main storage room right next to the kitchen to the left

I wanted to use bmc to maximize storage but realized I wouldnt be able to fit majority of the food so I went with Iron chests
That kitchen is very impressive
10th world problems
Literally you need so much storage for everythingf

Alright I go eat lunch bah-bye
Enjoy your eye-scream
silver sword is best
That's a delayed response
oh my discord didnt update lol
Fr
Bodach are you on discord? Do you have a portal in the huh connecting to your house?
We finally found the Bog Witch. Well, my wife did. I wasn't playing at the time. Lets just say she had a very memorable first encounter, with a nice complete welcoming committee from the swamp. π π π
She also found out Abominations can hit you while your in her house. π
Yeah, that was strange. It looks like it has a protective dome like Haldor does, but it didn't block anything. They just did not go inside her house. Plus the Abomination could "reach" inside as well.
solo ashlands makes me wanna die
π£οΈ π₯ What is balance!!!!
Abuse the fact that enemies in ashlands are charred but still are susceptible to the staff of embers

Hell yea spammable aoe 120 blunt that makes no noise
π€
Demolisher in shambles rn
IronGate team taking notes π
Doubt it lol
Demolisher is still good for keeping warriors at bay
Its the weapon that literally allowed me to kill the 2** warrior I encountered
Imagine losing 30 armor to get +9% movement speed when you could drink a potion for +15%
π
Like the 50x placement version?
such as stones, wood, core wood, bones
Check out the #1024264966712340510 channel to find other Valheim players
The Witching Hours.
yeahh like that
If you mean the +10% pierce damage granted from Ask set, it affects to all sources of pierce: bows, crossbows, spears, atgeirs, knives, Porcupine.
Curious
Has anyone else built an outpost/base on top of one of those grausten spires in the ashlands ocean?
Not yet.
Noted, next building project
I have so much black marble from all that dvergr settlement massacare I wanna use it
and other resources I didnt get to use on my main base
black marble is one of the better build pieces to use there since its immune to all elemental dmg (minus lava) unlike the other building pieces that are immune to only poison/spirit
What about grausten?
nope grausten is only immune to poison/spirit
Sad
bonemaw attacks have poison/fire in them
Black marble it is
Its quite impossible to make player-made bases without terrain walls due to ashlands having the most enemies that can deal heavy dmg to buildings
Not to mention your gonna get constantly bomb rush by enemies in the ashlands
trenches and earthen walls help every build, the shield generator helps a lot too if it cover the whole base
While building
I get this but I dont like cheesing enemies through terrain walls or trenches
i usually try to make some kind of little base then immediately follow up with a trench
Repeat players, do you like bronze picks? I wound up with a bunch of extra bronze after raiding mountain caves, but it's just so meh.
if your in mountains its not worth it at that point youll need an iron pickaxe there
You'll need iron pick
I haven't killed elder yet or even been in a swamp
But on this playthrough Elder is faaaaar
you dont need them per say they are better then the first pickaxe but its not needed to progress
So I decided to make fenris gear because mountains were near my spawn
The pickaxe progression is literally this
Antler pick > Iron pick > BM pick > battering ram/trollstav
i personally dont ever kill stuff through the walls, i let spikes do the killing; the trench/earthen wall is just to protect the base
I like the fighting gives me something to do but man ashlands is rough with the high dmging enemies
especially the ||morgen|| literally the worse
Yeah, I'll probably hate the first time I need to get back to a forge to repair in the swamp
You don't have to necessarily bring a forge to your swamp location, just make an outpost and tp when pickaxe is about to break
take a bronze pickaxe and at least one antler pickaxe more will only allow you to stay there longer without having to go back to repair
I drop portals in front of crypts when I go in, so it's not a huge deal
you can use the antler pickaxes when you get to mountains to dig out the land then iron pick to mine the silver
