i tried to put on th edinamic fire option, but it's a bit of a mess ... all my chimneys are now burning, how do you solve that?
Yeh i read that on the wiki
What do u mean burning?
Is your fire fizzling out?
Yea I did that too. Instantly logged out n turned it off lol
make the chimney's from non-combustible mats
the fact that bonemass is resistant to everything but blunt damage is annoying
Does bonemass even hit that hard tho?
yeah
even re-loading the area after the fire was domated
What if ur wearing root armor with poison potion
It took DAYS to beat bonemass. by the time i finished the swamp looked like a WW1 battlefield. Didnt help that it was my first run either
Also what if you spam the ground with bonfires where bonemass spawns?
with root i guess it is a full resistance but then you also have like 70% of your health taken off by any melee bonemass does
the swamp has eternal rain
Im gonna do the tower strategy this time, gonna cheese it hard.
just build a huge dirt tower and rain arrows
ohh bonfires
im guessing bonemass prob doesnt take a lot of damage from fire
lemme look it up 1m
very resistant to fire
so bonfires would do nothing :p
the best way i have found to kill bonemass is literally
stand on the skull special attack with an iron mace and spam healing mead
What if you built a giant stone wall around bonemass and then stood on its head and spam the iron sledge?
you cant build that fast really
the iron sledge does work im pretty sure it does less damage than iron mace special
when i was fighting it just now i was doing 200 damage
Bonemass is a weirdly uncheeseable boss
its not even that hard
I like using gimmicks to beat bosses
I spammed the elder spawn area with campfires and trapped him in it
Oh man I had a joke but I have a feeling it wouldn’t go over well
I don’t wanna get banned 😭
standing on the skull is the best cheese i think
unless you use the sledge cheese to get silver pre wishbone and get a frostner for him
An excellent spot to up your archery skill too.
I wanna know if the devs will ever buff the ooze bomb
I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone use it
I use the ooze bombs
ooze bombs are OP in infested mines
and against seekers and ticks in general
Probably because you haven't tried opening your eyes
Hard to improve upon perfection
I’m gonna craft like 2000 ooze bombs and defeat moder using only ooze bombs
Using the ooze bomb in sealed towers almost feels like cheating, haha.
They're cheap to craft as all resources are renewable and easy to gather
ooze itself is kinda pain to mass produce if you use them heavily, but for that I think bonemass is an option
Is anything in Ashlands susceptible to poison?
Morgen take normal damage from poison and asksvin and lava blobs are only resistant, not immune. Everything else is immune afaik.
Idk why morgen are neutral to poison but I'll just accept it
i dont think ooze bombs need a buff
well. The dodge roll gives a few less i frames than i thought it did
Hello to everyone. I have joined the server today as I have been enjoying playing valheim for several months now. I had a question however, is there a way of changing the colour of the pins on the map (or at least the names of the pins to change colours) I just find it difficult to find things sometimes. Thank you🙃
afaik theres no way to change the color unfortunately
There may be a mod for that
Died more in ashlands than every other biome combined I swear dude
So hard to get your stuff outta the lava when ur naked and only have basalt bombs
How do you think I got in the lava 😭
lol
Yes stocked. Just a billion avskins and fireballs instakilling me
Anyone has any good valheim guide?
well, in my world some valkyries always annoy me when im getting flametal
Yeah one came at me and the boys and killed all of us on the deposit
Probably you need to search some weakness Guide and Biome progression
Ive learned a lot from YouTube
i would recommend you keep progressing and exploring normally, If you are really in trouble get some especific Biome Guide or just check wiki
uuuugggh. I hate that fires go out in the rain
Alr thanks!
Idk abt u guys, but dying far away from home in a dangerous area makes me wanna stop playing forever lol
Can’t imagine dying in ashlands and having to get ur stuff while naked
I think I know why I don't like dundr. Or maybe I can learn to work around it. I only just realized that if you sprint while it's loading, you lose the eitr you spent on the now cancelled reload, in addition to starting the reload again.
It's part of the thrill. I find a death far away from portals or home sparks a fun adventure to retrieve my corpse. But I will admit I have been quite ragey a time or three when I've done it.
Just takes some getting used to imo. The knockback means you don't really have to sprint a whole lot. Higher elemental skill for shorter reload time helps a lot too of course.
ohh, no worries.. thank you anyway 🙂
The worst is when u die in the ocean as a beginner to a serpent
Losing your Karve in the ocean and having to make a raft to make it back
Unless u have resources to make another karve
I guess I'm going end up preferring the frost staff because of its lack of fiddliness.
I do hybrid, not full mage, and the way dundr wastes eitr due to the loading mechanic is a lot to work around.
Oof, that does sound rough. We have all had our misadventures. I hope you're able to claim revenge, but I would be sailing during the day on that raft, finding a serpent naked on a raft isn't going to be fun, haha.
fun for the serpent. Fresh meat
My first playthrough years ago. I had fully upgraded all bronze items. I had them with me on my first ocean excursion.
Little known Serpent owned my ass.
I stopped playing for awhile afterwards. Hah.
Yeah dude, it’s demoralizing when you realize how difficult it’s gonna be to get all your shit back
death penalty on casual at least saves your gear
losing everything in a lot of places takes the fun out of it
you remember masochists exist right?
They're taking their time to release the next patch...
I just really hope that doesn't imply they plan to make it the final patch for ashlands before they call it a day and move (i know it depends on what will actually be in the patch but I have little hope half of the current issues will be fixed)
Can we get bricks and stone for building? 😄
Fingers crossed. But it's still enjoyable to play. Gems are just so scarce when you're in a group 😢.
There's a lot of issues I hope they fix soon
Different than the stone we already have? Are you just wanting like the typical red brick house?
Ya
don't go in a group. Storm your own castle get those gems
Maybe add clays in the Swamp since that is also when we unlock the Stonecutter.
Yeah, I enjoy the group. We made another world to storm fortresses for those precious gems.
Maybe but Vikings also didn’t have red bricks it’s kind of putting a different era into that one
And then we smelt those clays in some sort of furnace to get bricks which are then used like stone and wood.
Maybe those clays used in the middle east?
The beige colored ones.
Idk, Vikings still used clays though.
Barely and even then rarely fired
I just want more building pieces.
How about different wood types? Like Finewood Wall or something; the wall is made of finewood turned into planks.
Hard to argue with that
Fine wood and ancient bark as build materials would be nice
Make some witchy huts out of ancient bark
What about cobblestone?
Probably a short list of the new weaposn that can kill Fader without breaking?
The current stone pieces have a cobblestone texture
Is it possible to harpoon a boat
no
Honestly, I don't find the AoE spam with Fader to be unbearable trying melee. My biggest complaints are the same things that people have been complaining about forever, that melee hitboxes and animations suck.
It's very unsatisfying to walk right up to Fader to the point where our hitboxes are colliding, then swing my axes and miss.
I get why I'm missing. I'm swinging under the chin. But then let me walk closer?
I've seen people claiming that fader can be immovilized with nature staff. if you hit him from sides or back while in that state you can melee him safely
the humble spear. used for thousands of years to hunt aquatic creatures. Necks are too small to stab with a spear
I've got Fader down to 5% health or so. Even at the end you've got adequate melee attack windows. The most frustrating thing continues to be all the times I'm colliding my character hitbox with Fader's, yet not conneccting attacks.
You can do it it's just janky cuz attacking anything at an angle is weird in Valheim
i know. its just hilarious that a 1 degree incline is enough to make them impossible to hit. Valheimsters dont have hips apparently, just legs attached directly to a ribcage
mods fix that
Another reason I like axes. Special attack hits downward
Upward is what I needed here
i know that feel
Though there were plenty of times where the axes did blatantly go through Fader's body and miss anyway. Which makes sense, I think the axes take their animation from the skoll and hati, which has th same problem with mismatched hotboxes and animations.
Bro u guys know what this game is missing? Necromancy. Tell me why I can’t summon a skeleton army to defend me??
You can
WHAT
Right. Literally, what you just said. Raising skeletons. You can do that.
You’re fucking with me
Why would you do that? Do you get joy out of getting someone’s hopes up?
Do tell, which item is it
Dead raiser. Available with mistlands.
WHAT
WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME ABOUT THIS
The real question is why you didn't know? It's not like those ingredients are hard to come by?
I’ve never made it to mistlands in any of my play through
The last time I played Valheim was pre mistlands
I just started a new world a week ago
ive never made it to plains in my 500 hours of valheim
Alright cmon now that’s just blatant neglectfulness
I know the deathsquitos are terrifying but you’ll overcome it
deathsquitos aint that bad
ive also never finished terraria in my 500 hours i have in that game
To be fair the skeletons you raise are pretty weak
So don't expect a necro like in diablo or something
does anyone know anything about mod manager on linux. I just posted in Mods channel
In my experience, every game I’ve ever played has severely underpowered summoning. So I don’t expect much from Valheim
They're strong in very hard tho
It’s more of a stop gap
Trollstav is decent as well
Very hard also increases enemy movement speed by 20% so it kills most kiting builds
In the final biome on normal they'll last about 1-2 hits from enemies
Summoning should just be used to temporarily take aggro away from you so you can heal and recharge stamina
But would be dope to have a summoning that wasn’t useless
I guess game designers are scared that op summoning mechanics can make the game too easy
If you never have to fight anything yourself, it can take away from the experience
are all of the dyrnwyn fragments found randonmly in forts?
I guess time to go kill the queen and wrap this playthrough
They do
More targets = enemies not focusing on you
that would be useless utility for actual mage using that summon...
And that’s fair and balanced. But in my fantasies, im a powerful summoner who can summon dragons that defeat the endgame boss for me while I sit on my throne
Like I’d have the audacity to bring fine wood and iron nails with me to the boss fight
also summons costing health is very counter productive for healing
Is that what it does?
i mean it's basically what summons do now in Ashlands. Your skellies aren't killing anything, they're just there to take hits for you. And a summoned troll can't even solo a non-starred morgen on its own but it makes for a great meatshield.
a great meatshield is far more than what was described
that's no longer just a short distraction like skellies
A shielded skeleton easily takes 4-5 hits to kill with decent blood magic skill. They're pretty decent meatshields too.
trolls are tough enough to tank whole groups for a bit.
Would be lovely if skills stopped being the basis on whether something is useful or not...
Not everyone has high skills and not everyone should feel forced to "grind" them otherwise they weapon in question is worthless
Like bows still being considered one of the most broken weapon types in the game at level 100
As if that threshold was achievable in every single scenario so easily
also pointless having progressive skills at all if you aren't going to take time to utilize them and enjoy the advantages they bring
at least blood magic is still pretty decent even at low level. Being able to survive any hit, even if it's just 1 hit, is really damn powerful
if you don't want to grind skills set the death penalty to casual. Or don't die
Because magic is op on its own.
Magic was a mistake that just broke the balance in combat. They shouldn't have included it
still need to grind it... not dying doesn't make it go up
if you want to keep skill levels, then you must have the skill to do so
though most skills don't exactly need much. Bows and crossbows are really the outliers there. With elemental magic it's noticable but you don't need more than 30 or so to make it worthwhile and that's not that hard to reach.
The fact that it's pretty evident that they balanced ashlands around its use is an example.
If you're alone in ashlands and refuse to use magic you will have a hard time
be a lot of sad mages if not
asksvin armor + flametal shield with 2 hp 1 stam food works fine. It's just a bit of a struggle until you upgrade your Mistland stuff, really.
that new cape that actually gives good amount of armor looks really interesting option for mages
I'm glad the new capes do provide different amount of options
Although frost resist shouldn't have been included to feather cape again...
If you give OPness to people, the moment you take it away they will complain
heh
It's really not.
It doesn't actually give enough armor to compensate for the low armor of mage robes (you still get oneshot by most things)
You don't have the armor or hp to block anything, so the lower block cost does nothing for you.
You don't use stamina to attack so the lower cost does nothing for you.
If feather cape never had any frost resist in the first place people wouldn't be as mad
feather cape has fire vulnerability tho... I'd rather have both off
Which can be very easily countered with fire wine
bubble staff negates the vulnerability
which means wasting even more resources for another mead and item slot...
And fire wine is easy to craft as well
and as a mage you're in 1-hit territory anyway without it so it doesn't matter.
the amount of item slots absolutely sucks in mistland
It's your choice to use an item slot, I just use it at base and not worrty about it for 10 minutes
Additionally, the materials are easy to gather as well
by that same logic frost resist mead would be able to give you the resist easily anyway and doesn't matter if frost resist is given to all capes
And it totally would. Not all capes should have frost resist. Having more and more capes should mean that you use one based on what you need.
The entire game is based around using what you need depending on situation in the first place
Why is the elder such a chump?
Do smoke bombs reduce visibility? Like can they stop an enemy from seeing you?
nope. no effect on enemies at all afaik. I'm pretty sure the only thing they do is stop fires.
Trying out a no armor Ashlands boss with just the new 2h gs and looking for some solutions
That's why there are suggestions for that
unlucky
I don't engage with the suggestions part of this discord idk
What would you guys say is the bets weapon in the ashlands? Gem included
Lightning is pretty good
It’s so hard to think about which one can do the best job as they all can
I also prefer lightning in a lot of cases
staff of the wild
throw down a field of roots, run circles around it, everything dies
Valheim on easymode
I mean melee, but staff of wild seems great from what I heard
Trollstav and sow are definitely some of the best staves though
sigh. Getting eitr is such a pain in the ass when you're mostly in ashlands
You can get soft tissue from putrid holes now.
navigating in immersive in the mistlands is lemon difficult
If I ever go mage, I’ll probably stick to seeker aspic as one of my eitr foods
not much from the holes, alas :/
guys how do ı spawn tamed animal whats the code
tame
"spawn <animal>" and then "tame"
It's the smart choice. There is zero reason to ever craft berry juice (it's worse than seeker aspic and much more expensive), so if you go triple eitr you kinda have to. And even for double eitr it's not worth the expense to craft sparkling shroomshakes just for 5 eitr more (but less duration).
yeah, you really want to have a sap supply locked down
5 eitr more, for less duration, and more expensive?!?!
I've got 5 extractors going and it's about keeping up with demand
4 sap 2 smoke puffs 2 vineberries iirc for 1 shroomshake vs 1 seeker meat 1 royal jelly 1 magecap for 1 seeker aspic (which also crafts in two's for even more convenience)
it dosent worked ım trying to spawn askvin
and you also need the sap and smokepuffs for marinated greens which you'll definitely want for double or triple eitr builds
That’s insane
should be "spawn asksvin" and after that "tame" 🤔 try to spell check just in case but i am gonna try it too
seeker aspic is really the outlier there, all the other eitr foods are a pain in the ass
hee, is anyone finding asksvin a little overpowered? We've been breeding them like crazy and everything within rendering distance of our base dies instantly to tamed asksvin
Are 2star askvins very rare, or spawn under special circumstances?
No different than usual.
works for me
starred asksvin are murder machines. And they breed like crazy if you scatter some food around.
unfortunately their eggs don't hatch in the wild, but we made a couple hatcheries with a low wall so the adults can leave but the babies can't
thank u so much dude its worked
Anyone else finding ashwood stakes awesome. Or did they change it realising the update-?
haven't tried the ashwood stakes, since they've been pretty useless in lower tiers or too expensive
nah they were always awesome. Being able to place them on walls directly makes them so much more useful
And they’re biggg
Far better than the other stakes
They also kill a troll in a matter of a few hits
Work well against seeker soldiers too
Anything the 2handed swords do better than the one handed swords do? Damage seems similar between the two
I’m pretty sure they do 30-40 more slash damage..?
2h vs 1h and shield mainly comes down to how you want to play. Most people I know play 1h+shield because of the ability to block.
special is pretty op dmg wise
More reach, so its a little easier dealing with multiple enemies.
Thanks man
Do they have the spawn rules on the wiki? Like only at night?
cart...too....heavy...
no info about it on wiki, but i have encountered at least one stared ones during the day so i would believe 2 stars spawn too
They should add bears or sometimes to the game
Maybe for the deep north update
Something*
Polar bear
Yeah
It would be awesome
That has been in the https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1202312684364910612 before.
And maybe ice giants? Or jotuns
also been suggested i believe 🙂
Ummmm what hasn’t been in suggestions then.. lol
bears had also been rejected before iirc
and i am still waiting for cats in valheim 😦
Tameable tigers lol
A bear would feel better in a Viking game though
I know right??
we have loxes insetead of bears 🙂
normally 2 stars Wolves spawn at night, i never seem before 2 stars Asksvin at day, but 3 at night
Yeah
I’m thinking deep north would have some sort of severe frost effect
do ooze bombs deal full damage to enemies on very hard?
wait they can actually reject #suggestions ? And accept?
Imagine mythirl being a ore in the deep north
i believe it was in reply to similar conversation we are having now
I can imagine gold being able to be used to craft jewelry, coins and other gold related stuff
I believe if the devs actually only opened this chat the game would be another
Gold armor and weapons don’t make sense due to gold being weak
Yeah and gold being really heavy
steve was called out
i saw that emoji
but im talking to games in general too, every game Discord got a chat for suggestions
But maybe gold taking a small part in some recipes or maybe some type of amour
Or building
What emoji? 🙂
Taking part in recipes would be great though
I believe it is a world modify (meaning every source of damage is affected, or suppose to be)
Imagine if devs actually get one day at wekeend to see some suggestions, or just sit and talk in the chat with a fake account
Or maybe a gilded armor
Hey guys, quick help, im starting a new world, i need help with the name, anyone with a creative name? plsss 7o7
Asgard
There needs to be a troll rug I have several chests filled with troll pelt
With nothing to do with them
coal
Dark fantasy
🔥
uuuh, thats sounds kinky, i like it
Put Light fantasy instead
Yeah
everyones valhiem working ?
Fine, u won
yep
Eitr Weave upgrade is pointless, just adds small armor boost.
Sure its replaced by Robes of Embla but I expected more tbh
Shame
mine isnt everytime i try to load my world it crashes tried starting a new map crashes
In wich difficulty should I play? 🤔
if you never played before i suggest normal 😄
I am definitely not the creative type. My poor vikings are named: Ash Beta, Adjective, Coffee, Nocturn, Jill and Nevyn.
i suggest normal even If the people played It before
nice lol
They should add an oven earlier on to the game and make a type of grain like rye grow in the plains and make black bread
Very random but, How large would a very hard mode troll be? 🤔
like a squid ink used in multiple foods
I meant meadows not plains
Bro is giving us all what he got in his mind 🔥 Spamming suggestions
eh maybe that username makes some kind of sense
would be cool if deap north boss was fenrir\
I have a perfect tiny plains island off the coast of my meadows base 🥲 just need to learn how to build bridges now.
They also said we'd never get chickens and then we got chickens soooo
general question - does it seem like most mods are working properly with ashlands now? me and my group wanted to wait until the patch officially dropped and the mods got cleaned up for the most part. any insight?
Hell theres even lorestones mentioning bears so I'd be super surprised if bears werent a thing in deep north
Bro the fire sword is gonna be lit in Deep North
What lorestones?
Like which one mentions that
I thought I saw it mentioned in one of the ashlands lorestones but I could be wrong
Boars you're thinking of.
Regardless, we were definitely told no to chickens but we got them anyways, I wouldnt write off bears yet
Wouldn’t the deep north be like a frost giant? I mean obviously I have no idea but that’s Viking lore right?
The game doesn't slavishly adhere to mythology.
do the sword fragment locations only spawn after youve revealed their location?
I think they’re already there.
hmm
Because you can discover them without the Vegvisirs.
cause im like 90% sure ive found one of the spots but nothings here
joh
nevermind it was like 200 feet from where i was looking lmao
Was your minimap too zoomed out?
yes...
Try to destroy the spawner from far away with a ranged or magic weapon
the purple one?
It spawns 2-star enemies if you get close so it’s best avoided
Hear me out, don’t destroy it.
use it for a farm?
Why destroy it if you can just die instead?
This guy gets it
more fun that way
holy
playing valheim with HL2 soundtrack to make it all more dynamic
Is there any reliable way to take out the swathes of enemies in the ashlands? I've got 2 other people with me but the sheer amount of enemies makes it impossible to go anywhere without waiting for bonemass
vikings didnt write, they carve
Friendly fire is the best new weapon
All enemies except charred and voltures have it on some/all attacks
then let us (k)arve
someone is actively making a mod for that (last I saw in mods chatter).
think this was it: #mods-screenshots message
they did, and it works beautifully 😄
Grand Library of Valheim
can i modify skill gain rate on a vanilla server
If you can use devcommands in that server yes
Or just add the global key in the startup bat.
whats the key
100 is the default, so 200 would be double and 300 would be triple etc.
so -SkillGainRate 150 in the bat is fine or do i have to do -modifier SkillGainRate 150
-setkey SkillGainRate 150.
thank you
is there more healing shamans then there used to be?
no
okay. we have had a lot so felt like there was more
i am not a fan of that join code since i am a streamer. thank Odin for password protect.
There's definitely a lot at night
ya, we got swarmed at night in the black forest last night. think we had three at once at one point
Could be nite spawns or could be there's a Greydwarf spawner nearby.
Or a combination of both.
ah okay. never thought of that. destroyed one but think there was two or so near by also
3 staff of the wild will also do nicely
Damn!
That storm near Ashlands is getting ff-ing anoying at some point.
Been in it for 45 minutes and it's really starting to piss me off.
I always figured that flametal mace was useful against warriors because of the secondary but I was wrong...
It's actually great, I keep pushing them back every time I use it and they barely have a chance to hit me while I continue killing them. It feels like bullying them, it's hilarious
anyone have any ideas??? I started a new world after ashlands dropped and finally made it to the ashlands....my buddy fired a arrow from shore to kill one of the new serpents and he and the land sunk to the bottom of the ocean...wierd
guys the ||ask armor|| is freaking good as heck. Coupled with the ||ask cloak|| , ||berserkir axes|| and spear/shield as a backup. I feel like a ranger. I have my main char who is full ||eitr|| and he is really strong because ||eitr|| is strong, but I was taken aback by how fun the ||ask/axes|| combo would be on my alt.
man it feels so good to finally upgrade from a 5x5 wood hut to a castle
have you tried the ||fenris armor|| paired with the ||ask cloak during a thunderstorm? it's pretty hilarious how your run speed goes through the roof||
I made one from stone
I can't move fast enough in the Flametal armor so I use the Ask armor
Does anyone know if you can put the dyrnwyn fragments on an item stand?
I don't like the Ashlands too much as a solo player. I had to dig a trench around my base
I just let the overpowered mobs fall in the hole and deal with them at my leisure.
if you wanna thin out the spawning around at least your base, campfires stop spawning within a 20m radius. they don't have to stay lit either, and mobs don't attack them like they do to workstations or torches
a charred warrior destroyed a portal I had put down
I don't know when they started doing that but I don't like it lol
Mobs always destroy our stuff.
I hunt Bonemaw a lot from the shore. Dig a pit, drag it in, slaughter it.
That the new serpent?
yep, the meat is good. I have two drakkar ships and two bases with forcefields. I died and had to come back. that's why two boats lol
Yeah, that happens a lot in this game.
Killed the queen solo
I just started playing again last weekend, so just now getting into the swamps as of today, since we finally found Haldor. (I say "we" because my wife and I play.)
nice
I am NOT doing that iron without the belt.
I found him way out in the ashlands. nothing but bones here he said
He was close to the Elder altar, as he often has been. Just further away than usual.
I was running from a valkyrie when he popped up once in a fortress
I was using the fortress spikes to cheese it
I haven't been in the Ashlands yet. We decided to start from the beginning since we hadn't played in over a year.
My original world still works
So I'm trying taming for the first time. I have a wolf in a pit and I threw a bunch of raw boar and neck meat in it, all single stacks, but he somehow keeps seeing me crouched and through the earth & behind a boulder...
Mine did as of Mistlands, so it should still be good.
Build wall around it
It sees you
They have good hearing, but you can go a good distance from them and they will still tame.
Just seems strange that I'd be crouching and not moving and it could see me both through the earth and behind a boulder haha
train your sneak or wear troll armor
I build a defendable house to stay in and around. Its hearing you, not seeing you, necessarily. They are even more difficult when starred.
I can get right up behind enemies if I stay out of eyeshot
That's crazy
takes a lot of grinding
How far away can I go? I have a small cabin pretty close to the pit
I usually have sneak above 40 by the time I get to the mtns, so that helps.
probably fine
Oof, mine is 8 lol, woops
Do about 10 floor boards worth of distance.
Ok, thank you guys 😊 I'll report back
I think the wiki said this should take like 30 minutes?
Something like that, assuming no aggro.
Oh boy. How much food? I think I threw down 27 x1
Around 8, I think. Been over a year since I last did it.
Oh that's not bad
Too much doesn't hurt anything.
Just pick up whats left after they tame.
Juswt be careful if you go after the 2 stars. They hit like a big truck.
Just caught an R5 pufferfish! Let's goooo!
I don't recall if I have caught a r5 of any fish. So congrats!
thanks. got a coral cod and a perch at 5 as well.
Make sausage
entrails, thistle, boar meat
Am I supposed to be seeing a progress bar?
What's that in regards to?
Taming a wolf
Only if you're close enough to the wolf (and looking at it)
Ah ok, thanks
You'll see yellow hearts coming up from it even if you're not too close, that indicates taming is working.
takes 2-3 in-game days.
Holy hell, it worked. My first wolf. Thanks guys.
Get a second one and start breeding. The pups are cute. If you want to get "industrial" about it, there are good videos on you tube.
That's my next task, although I kinda wanna get there with 2 stars 🥲
2 stars are a major pain, but are by far the toughest.
Plus give the most mats, of course.
worth the 3 week expedition in the mountains at night
When on a server. I don't bother when solo or just my wife and I.
Not anymore, the novelty has worn off. 😄
not to fear, the new biome has a new night tame xD
I've heard. It was mentioned earlier today.
i think folk have generally kept spoilers to minimums, when it was PTB no-one was allowed to even mention anything outside the channel
Did they up the tomb loot in the BF? I think we did maybe 12 tombs and we had enough coin to buy two of everything from Haldor, plus tons of bait.
just rng
Do higher rank pufferfish do more poison damage you gotta find out… how big is he…
the lvl 5 fish models are kinda funny
Pufferfish are funky af, they’re always the only fish frozen floating above the water outside of processing distance lmao
Makes them easy to find thankfully
I caught a R 3 Troll fish by having it jump in my boat.
They jump like crazy during storms.
R5 Coral cod is my best
there's one guy here who has almost every level of every fish on his wall
I have yet to take the new fishing seriously. Takes enough time doing everything else. So I am glad its pretty much an optional thing to do. For the most part.
Man I am STRUGGLING to find the queen's boss marker in infested mines
if you've checked a few in an area and it's a bust, probably best to go far away from there for yr next ones
yea on the sea now to set up a new mistlands exploration portal
a few ppl complain about these "dead pockets" when searching for Yag vegs as well
just surprised it was a massive area of mistlands and I cleared at least 6 mines looking
Me and my gf have a very funny interpretation of valheim lore. Like we know that this is more of an honor for vikings, but me and my gf always say odin is too lazy to get up and kill the forsaken again himself
does something cause structures to take damage over time? I keep getting to outposts finding the entire flooring at like half health
Rain. If you don't have a roof, it'll wither away structures
Rain drops exposed build pieces to 50% durability
ah. That might be it, not sure if it was damaged before or after i built the roof. Will having open sides let rain in?
if the outpost is near the ocean wave surges may damage it too perhaps?
nah, that aint it. It must have just been damaged before i got the roof up and i didnt notice. I built the structure in the middle of a storm
is there some kind of pattern as to where to find each biome?
yes, i used to have a graphic depiction
the further you get out from centre, the more dangerous the biomes become, generally
gotcha, thanks.
Does that apply to the ashlands too? And if so is that at the bottom middle of the world? Or of each island
right at the bottom
and it seems like ppl are finding it the toughest going so far
So getting closer to the bottom should make it easier then right?
That makes sense why the beach is so horrid
are there any armor for ashlands from previous biomes thats good against it?
People are saying the ulv armour from the mountains is good for its speed and fire resistance
Our group got good results from mistland gear until we got the light Ashland set
heard, ty
im trying to find a balance of armor with one pair of mage clothing for some regen
Might benefit from making a bunch of lingering eitr potions (just find the berries in the ashlands and you should be able to make the mead). And using whatever normal armour you like.
Otherwise the first two parts of the ash mage armour is easy to get a hold of early on in the biome
no, the waters all around the Ashlands have special properties that make it more difficult to reach than other biomes, so far
is the ash mage armor the blue fit with red eyes?
i think i built that the other day
I'm using the feather cape to get to Ashlands from now on. No more drakkar.
the lack of any useful new features like an animal hitch and the fact that it's even more of a barge than the longboat make for extremely limited usefulness overall
rn it's a 1 trick pony
Anyone having issues with spawners? No grey dwarfs at all. Nothing
something blocking it? server desync? mods acting up?
can Asksvins not live outside of ashlands?
are battle axes viable for tree chopping?
If their slashes are slower than normal axes then no.
sadge
so can asksvins not live outside of ashlands?
We really need a way to give skeletons companions a waypoint. Like a RMB action when holding the skull. Getting them to move short distances is so annoying. A CMB targeted autodestruct command that doesn't require the butcher knife or toggling friendly fire would be good too.
for the love of god why aren't Yagluth location runes guaranteed at stonehenges
I have been through so many plains
They can.
could somebody spare me a few chitin?
swimming in this game sucks ass
the water is ABOVE the floor piece im trying to get on and it just refuses to let me up
Mine are in the plains, and they are very easily transportable too
So, anyone else with jumping in water would put out fires? Turned on fire spread at world creation, and may be regretting it now
I think the setting is not fine tuned yet, I'd wait with it for another few weeks or whenever a patch makes it a bit more tuned in.
My egg hatch on plains
maximum fall damage is 100?
yes
so if i have over 100 health i can jump off any height and survive
yes, just minus -100 hp
nice, thanks
what are these smoldering crypt, howling caverns things, and why are there multiples
does comfort level affect hp regen? I feel like i regen a lot faster in my room than just around the base but near a fire

What is the best gem for slayer sword and the ripper crossbow?
Tbh I think the green one given slow attack speed; blue is ok on slayer
👍
Bro how many more boats u made?
Nah nah nah - green and lightning gems do not work well on slow weapons
Their abilities proc/activate with a 25% chance per hit
Hence you want to hit things many times to increase the chance of getting those special abilities
Rather work with blood gems
Those enhance the already hefty damage potential of your big weapons
Especially if you mix them with blood magic
Spam summon skellies with shield to lower your health, then go smack something
Also, tasty mead is a thing
Reduces health regen by 100%
Does everyone have a main base or a you a nomad?
Morgen gjall.
The downside with blood weapons is that they lock you into a very specific playstyle. If you're not eating at least 2hp foods and running around half dead most of the time you may as well not bother.
if you're spending time at the start of every fight lowering your hp first with blood magic you could've just used that eitr to kill whatever you're fighting.
this game needs an option to hide the cloak and helmet
main base to be honest
Main base and a bunch of smaller ones.
How would nomad even work? You can't even carry all the mats for your crafting stations & upgrades at once once you get a forge, let alone the Mistland crafting stations on top of that.
Drakkar plus your inventory probably.
Even on the drakkar you'd need to fill the entire deck with carts just to have enough inventory space to carry the bare essentials. And just imagine getting through the Black Forest with only 4 slots of "chest" space beside your inventory lol.
Though it'd be interesting to try how far you can get without a permanent base
cart and boat for carrying
temporary tent anywhere
You're already filling up a longships worth of slots just with the mats for your crafting stations and their upgrades. Mats for actual crafting, food and replacement gear not included.
not even
as a nomad, you move as you go. so when you go to the swamp, you bring smelting and crafting stuff with you to smelt iron and use it there
move onto the mountain, plains, mistlands, etc
I did that and made the Longship far away from my base.
If mobs kills Dvergr, will they respawn? If so, after how long? Do they have passive healing, if there is no Mage among them?
Hello , i have a problem ... can i ask for suport here ?
#valheim-help If it is normal game related.
#mods-issues For problems with mods.
#steam-bugs-discussion For bugs with steam.
#xbox-bugs-discussion For bugs with xbox.
#dedicated-server For server issues.
"Yes"
they can spawn through out mistlands, i would say kinda infrequently (wiki says uncommon spawn for example), every mob has pasive healing afaik and not sure if mage can be among them
i dont believe they respawn at their camps
if anyone wanna play on my world hmu
#1024264966712340510 Is the place to promote that.
is there some forbidden technique to build structures over water? Im building a considerably long bridge to an island but ive gotten into deep enough water that i cant get any supports into the ocean floor even when standing on a floor plank that's under the surface of the water
Holding your tongue in the right place?
nah, its well out of reach. more than 6 meters from the surface
sorry, more than 12 meters from the surface*
3x 4 meter core logs arent enough to ground the support
hello there, do I need to always be close to the animals for them to eat/breed or is there some way how I dont have to be there?
That's fairly deep. If you aren't already, devcommands and/or mods might help.
you have to be present for your animals to be able to tame and breed
that is little annoying
The wiki does a good job explaining: https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Taming?so=search
Tfw my ashlands beachhead spawns up to 12 Asksvins per Valheim day, every day... Perfectly tuned! xD
guys can u reinforce walls with dvergr metal wall (the copper metal wall)?
or you still need iron?
I think it is more designed as a decorative piece and not a structural one, but I haven't tested it. I know for sure the iron cage wall/floor is structural. I use it for a lot of larger builds because they are easier to hide than iron&wood posts/beams.
could u test it cuz i cant
If you don't mind waiting about 12h. Just got into work. You could also poke around the wiki and see if it mentions anything.
Apparently yes, wiki says it gives the same support as iron.
Although idk if it could be a mistake on editor's part
I will ask. I'm very curious, imagine being able to get support from copper instead of iron
At least vertically as there is no horizontal version
How may ancient seed to summon boss?
nevermind.
3
7 draggars i belive
how does blood magic affect it? does it increase the blood gem's damage?
Blood magic uses blood to cast, the blood gem gives more damage the less health you have, so with using blood magic you lower your health and will do more damage.
i got a question for a noob valheim person, is there any way to place armour and stuff in a seperate inventory space? like how minecraft does it where you can put your armour on in a player menu
Should be possible with mods, else no.
i prefer lightning gem, with mist pole combo. Pretend i`m Thor
oh alright i thought that having a higher level in blood magic makes you do more damage if you have a blood gem weapon
ah right okay thanks
that'd be cheaper, i have couple of stacks of copper left over
Bubble staff takes away 40% hp, which translates to having a nice shield and having lower health which gives the weapon with a bloodgem more damage.
yes i understand now
would blood gem be ideal for the slayer? im using flametal armor ofc and have around 230hp
yes especially 2h weaps
Highest damage weapons are much better as blood version due to their already-high base dmg.
Slayer and ripper might be the best options
I saw a vid of someone one shotting a valkyrie with blood ripper (sneak attack)
i like iolite on faster weapons
yeah that was the same as i was thinking
daym that sounds good, i personally thought that iolite would be better for crossbows but now that i think abt it, the bloodgem sounds better
I mean, technically any version works good with any weapon if you know how to use it.
But some are definitely better than others in a certain version. I'm sure nature ash fang must be better than nature ripper due to attack speed
i might go blood gem for slayer and ripper
Thunder axes are amazing but I can see thunder nidhogg and mace being good as well.
Flametal mace's knockback + nature might immobilize warriors while still keeping distance for example
👍
Imo the ripper is the only weapon where blood is really viable since you actually have the time to deliberately lower your hp before firing and generally use it for sneak attacks anyway.
For melee weapons it's only good if you go heavy on hp food and run around with low hp, which i feel doesn't keep up with a 1hp 2 stam lightning user or mage build when it comes to killing speed.
The special effects might need work but at least they did know which ones to use for essentially any enchanted weapon to not be completely worthless.
There's no "most useless enchanted weapon", only "least best enchanted weapon"
I'll probably go for lightning knives if that is a possibility else I'll go for the next fast attacking melee weapon for lightning.
Don't know what I'll put on the bow though.
Sadly no knives, but axes or spear is great for fast attack speed
There is no knife, sledgehammer, atgeir and battle axe in ashlands
Axes probably then, no knife lunges anymore though 😦
For the bow, nature might work best due to attack speed and being able to immobilize targets faster.
I have decent results with nature ripper but I'm sure bow would be better
And no fist weapons 😭
Axes do have a lunge secondary tho
In my experience the proc isn't reliable enough to really have much impact. You're better off with the extra damage from lightning
yes but no knife lunge, that will be an axe lunge and that just isn't the ame.
Let me ||enchant my standard fists with lightning blood and nature all at once plz ||
And axes also have a speed penalty and a standard backstab modifier and they have a surprisingly long delay of locking you in place after hitting, unlike knives
Still, very good weapons. DPS monsters
Which I'm sure is the main reason why they have that delay. Without it and they'd be way too powerful
They deal six damage instances per full combo
Depends on the weapon probably.
OK thanks
Specifically referring to bows. The primal mace is actually pretty sweet.
Getting that lightning proc is a great dps boost for bows - which tend to struggle in Ashlands with most things resisting pierce - and usually staggers too so it doubles as crowd control as well as a damage boost.
I beat the 5th boss but still can't find trader
@empty abyss try going near the elder spawns. hes usually near ish those
I looked only 1 elder spawn and couldn't find one
go looking for islands with black forest and sail around those, works pretty well 🙂
You can check the map viewer if you don’t mind spoiling it
nah, thats cheating 😉
Might aswell type this
Devcommands
God
Exploremap
Fly
no mistake, it's bcoz copper "supports" are only unlocked in Mistlands
Is valheim cross gen as well as cross platform.? Or just cross plat
My PC is acting up and was wondering if I Install on the Xbox, if I'll have all my characters/world or if I'd have to start from a blank canvas
Normally there's no direct save transfer support between PC and Xbox, but if you own Gamepass there's a way to transfer them.
Aight. I was just wondering. Thanks
That takes so much more time and effort
Made my first karve and managed to make landfall on another area and back to my port base without dying!!!
W
Placed my first portals, I'm having so much fun with this game solo I don't know if I want to risk going co op haha
A true viking
It's definitely fun in Co-op, but gotta play with people you trust
Also first playthrough I recommend solo or with other newbies
I figure after I solo it, I'll see if I can find a good server which is up constantly
I'm old, I like to relax lol
Best thing about solo play is you can go at your own pace. I'm 160 hrs into my playthrough and just made it to mistlands 😅 Been having too much fun just exploring, farming, and building stuff
That's me basically as well except i have been gathering copper and tin for a while, now I have a bunch of bronze and all the armour/weapons I need. My bees are happy, I've got lots of meads and foods, I think I'm ready to take on the elder.
Just need to find the dungeon stone and then I should be goo's to go
Which is fair. But it is still funny that copper is weaker than iron and still provides better support.
But I won't complain. it's an amazing discovery.
whats the best food for mage? (ashlands tier food)
i was wondering if anyone here could help me get my friends loot who died in the lava dm me i beg you
maybe https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1033392094817046630 can help. Also basalt bombs are your best friend
i believe basalt bombs are your only way
alright i asked there
how do i am suposed to tame an 2 star asksvin? They despawn when day time, the tame is 30 minutes and the night only last for 9 minutes
Marinated greens & seeker aspic for sure, then either sparkling shroomshakes for triple eitr or a stam food of your choice (scorching medley is basically Ashlands salad so it's easy to supply).
Berry broth is not worth crafting, ever.
alright, thanks👍
Once you start taming they won't despawn.
they do
They shouldn't, once the taming process starts they should stay around.
does ashwood bed give a higher rested effect?
@near furnace Is there a problem with 2 star asksvin despawning when they shoudln't, as in taming has started and it becomes day again and they go poof?
no, only 1 comfort same as the basic straw bed
doesnt the dragon bed give more than one?
yes it gives 2
why does ashwood bed give only 1? doenst make sense imo
The only Ashlands item that actually increases our comfort over Mistlands is the lava lamp
yeah i just built that. well, thanks
happened with me
Question, does the Moder buff works with the new armor that goes faster with the wind?
no clue. haven't checked
nope
any leaks on deep north?
probably not yet
Ashlands isn't even done yet...
I saw its coming on 24th December so I tought there might be some leaks
Legit everyone who’s ever seen the thunder axes has just said “YES!“ 🤣
Dual axes = new knife
what
This game SERIOUSLY should get the “Better with friends” award
I wish there was more multiplayer scaling tbh like extra spawns extra stars idk
Im so addicted to play with friends that now I cant play solo anymore coz it feels so lonely and boring
I met someone recently who was playing with a group and reached swamps...
Until one of them brought mistlands equipment (magic staves) to the bonemass fight.
Made everyone quit
This game is hard enough plz dont make it harder
I’ve seen lots of people quit because someone starts building out of marble while we’re in the first 3 biomes
And I can see how infuriating that is
But building with currently the most resilient build material is slightly less frustrating that bringing powerful equipment to an important fight
It’s really not though
Sounds like my type of guy
If anything it just looks so out of place. Wooden houses next to a black marble mansion that’s got all the mistlands crafting stations
That's terrible behaviour and should not be agreed with
I can see it in very specific situations. But bringing powerful equipment while at early stage is very wrong
I really hope no one accepts playing with you then
Yeah we should report this in court to law
Can I not block people from mobile anymore? Where did that option go?
Last time I bring mistlands stuff everyone was so excited and we speedrun the game
Oh, in that case I will correct it:
I hope none of you are accepted in anyone else's playthrough on any game.
Hold the username and click on the three dots top-right corner
Sorta not really, as described 8 lines below that
what is sulfur used for?
Lava lantern, flametal mace and explosive payload
Kinda wish any of my friends were interested at all in Valheim.
Weirdly, though, mum loves it so I guess mom's my coop buddy. Still though, new ship feels so empty with just two vikings
what gem should i put on my ripper? im thinking iolite but im not sure
Fast attack speed, leap attack, pretty similar if missing backstab bonus’s
How do I unlock the berserker axes?
Flametal, asksvin hides...uhh
I already have all these, not sure why I don't see the axes on the black forge
What level is your forge?
you need charred bones, smelted flametal and asksvin hide, as well as lvl 3 black forge
if you mean enchanted versions you need to make normal ones, have apropriate gem, some flametal and lvl 4 black forge.
It’s not a leap attack is it? Just a dash
And yeah knife users will likely like them, but for some it can be a deal breaker having them slow you down (both with movement speed and animation lock) and not backstabbing as hard
Quick technical question, the shaders used for the new terrain for ashlands update. why are mipmaps not used or allowed to be used?
0% movement penalty?
Just a crazy question... has anybody attempted to create a large desert in plains?
How?
plains has sandy beaches, right?
Is there something in Ashlands that changes terrain?
So just digging until the entire plains is almost sea level?
Yea, that should work
Honestly sounds like something dumdum would do
After seeing the way he mines out the blackforest I wouldn’t be surprised if he would mine away a plains
It would look bizzare and unique for sure though
Ayo @hearty scaffold were you the guy who dug out massive areas? Have you done that to the plains?
Hey guys, is there a mod that lowers the crops growth time?
Large parts of my ashlands was completely flattened after the boss battle😅
It now looks like the old ashlands.
I wish some of the mountain structures are indestructible
sounds like something that is very likely to exist, but would recommend asking in #mods-discussion , there are active mod users that would know more about mods
So we just made landfall into the ashlands for the first time and I survived a constant horde of enemies for quite a while but it was straightup a non-stop horde, we tried placing a portal again and again but they kept breaking before we could get a second of rest or safety, now I wonder, was I unlucky and made landfall on the wrong spot (I saw all kinds of burned buildings around us at the landing location) or is this normal
oh whoops meant to post this in the help channel
it's fine for valheim chat too, think the help channel is more focused on issues with game not working ect.
That is Ashlands working as intended, it's just crazy like that. It will be hard to get your feet down and making progress can be slow, but it's just the way it's intended to be
Is the new update all just end-game additions?
Some Ashland beaches are definitely busier than others. Also bring a hoe and a few stacks of stone. Terrain walls are pretty much required in Ashlands for any portal not placed in a conquered fortress.
Once you land on the beach set up a ring of terrain walls for your portal outpost right on the beach and you'll have a safe place to retreat to.
near the end where I died I literally had over 30-40 enemies after me
it was ludicrous, I stood no chance
the shield bubble only works for weather effects does it not?
no it also stops projectiles.
ah thats good to know
Also bring aoe damage to thin out the hordes faster. Demolisher does well for melee and the staff of embers is great at clearing hordes of twitchers and marksmen.
I did bring one but I lost it now sadly
I guess I will get back to the beach on a different spot and make a stone wall asap
thing is there were so many ranged enemies that I did not get a chance to use the demolisher
so, what is faster wood cutting? left or right click? 🤔
99% is, yes
Yeah the mobs in Ashlands are relentless - it took me an hour to establish a beach head when I landed
im frustrated I gotta build a new boat and travel there again >:l
But it also depends where you land - you have to kill the spawners around you - or it’s an endless tide
Also, building on the ocean rocks is safer by far than trying to establish a beach head ON the beach
Especially at night 😭
ENDLESS SUFFERING
Hay (rug) and fire hazards world modifiers (if enabled) are the only pre-ashlands additions.
And bone stack
Yeah, that too
For everyone who heard about me sinking 8 draggars in the ashlands, i lied! (Without knowing) i was strolling on the coast of the ashlands when i saw something floating next to a spire rock maybe 20m away from the coast, it was one of my draggars that didnt sink, i also believe that there is maybe one draggar further away from the coast if it hasnt been sinked yet. So i only sinked 4-5 draggars!
Drakkar
Yea but you have to find a VERY specifically ideal location so you're not causing extra labor ferrying back and forth to the beach
Oh sorry
Eh - if I can’t find the “perfect” spot I just use the boat as a ferry
Usually you find several stacks of 2-3 rocks clustered together which makes a perfect base
It’s just a hop across the pond at that point - much better than waking up to a bloody morgen at your doorstep
Maritime skill unlocked: [You can't sink us all!]
- we never leak
- we haven't started yet
- profit
cat
that's a leaaaak! They haven't started yet! (jk)
It very technically is
As long as there's not too many leaks the boat will float, let the sink in
They must have ideas though 🤔
For sure
Honestly I expected a leek in the boat gif from smiffe
dverger ice mines in the north that blow big holes in the boat
Idk if smiffe fw cloudy with a chance of meatballs though
But I'm already sensing it in the strings of fate... the plans will change significantly. Yes... I can see it. Certains things will be added that nobody thought to do before. A lot of misery for players too... I see a great challenge to overcome. (/end of divination bs)
player misery is hardly a prediction
it's more like an ongoing status
luckily there are endless charred to take it out on
How will deep north differ from mountains?
Lakes?
Snowmen?
Yeti?
Igloos?
😛
ice building blocks
bears
unicorns
I'd like to see deep snow that slows you down
ice lakes that make you slide
lots of ice and fire magic
and no silly FPS killer blizzards 🙏
It will be all blizzards, all the time. Basically frozen Mistlands with Ashlands spawn rate.
You're requesting ice spike blizzards that shred your FPS? Wish granted!
recycling mountains weather is just 🥱
have it snow but not like it does in mountains
its hard to do deep north when you already have mountains
it makes sense for mountains to be windier coz of the elevation, hence the blizzards, lower ground would see more steady fall, like the first snow of the year
could be something like the north pole all flat with ice lakes deep caverns and cracks
or some flat areas and some that have ice walls, where the ice sheets smash together and make big ridges
you'll see 😄
No patch today either
never on a friday unless something is gamebreaking
SANTA CLAUS? 😄
murderous elves
society if we had smooth grausten slopes
would be sick to sail up to the deep north and see massive glacier fronts, with pieces slowly breaking off and chunks falling in the water
then we'd have to get our axes out and scale them
where do i find a good multi player server? bored playing alone lol
I have one but everyone is boring
o duh thx
if they could make those naturally form it would be great, allowing players the freedom to travel mostly overground, or through a naturally occurring (generated as such) network of ice caverns/crevasses
How deep will the deep north be
they can make the ice shelf however high they like
I hope it’s shallow just to be fun calling it deep
it should require Ashlands weapons/tools (boss item 🥱 ) somehow to even access, massive ice shelves then shallower inland areas for POI's
What if in deep north you actually go deep?
or even hide all the POI's in subterranean areas
Odin has blessed me with 4 serpents in one night. Thank you Odin 🙏
deep in the ice
I saw thor
Reminder, do not eat the yellow popsickle! (or snow)
is the mistland always at the foot of the giant mountain infront of Yggdrasil
Mistlands is found on the far edges of the world
best place to look is far east or west
North and south are other end game biomes
i found it at the Mountain that looks like a "totally not historically accurate" viking helmet
Which future content is comming for ash?
fixes for the bugs
can tamed animals actually die of hunger? if so, it seems to take a loooooooooooooooong time.
No they can't, I think they just don't heal if not fed.
i read something about that they can maybe 1 and a half years ago
makes sense, so ive been feeding my chickens for no reason...
Well.. are they laying eggs? lol
🤔
So they don't die of hunger, but they still need to be fed in order to reproduce. Chicken lay eggs which can be taken as is or you can put it in a warm area to hatch it into a chick. I'm not sure what your goal is, but if it is to farm eggs, chicken meat or feathers, then you'd still need to feed em.
Ashlands are pretty sweet. Would wandering around with the wishbone be worthwhile I wonder? Do some digging maybe.
oh right... is there even any use for wishbone beyond mountains?
It'll reveal treasure in the meadows and buried muddy scrap piles in the swamp. I never bothered with it in the mistlands
the best way to get stone asap is to destroy the big rock formations in plains right?
Pretty much
uhh... not very reliable in my experience. I completely broke the bottom part and it just kept floating. had to spend a lot of time mining from bottom up to finally make rest of it poof.
Imo, mistlands is better source of stone
unfortunetly im still in between mountains/plains(have stuff from mountains but haven't killed moder yet)
guess plains it is then
mountains isn't bad either since there's a lot of large rocks
I'm very fond of destroying ruined structures. Walk up with materials for a workbench, stone cutter and portal. Drop the benches, destroy all the lower blocks with your hammer and portal away
stonecutter in mistlands is 10/10
trust me, just bring that 2 iron with you and you'll eventually thank me when you find something to deconstruct with it
When you set the color on a sign how do you change it. I set a sign to blue and teh HTML text disappears and you cant change it from what I can see.
does anyone know why there arent any servers popping up on my server list on xbox and why i cant joinmy friend?
Do the ashland spawners respawn?
ill remember that
what biomes can you skip?
Entirely depends on what you want to do. You could technically skip all of them
just stick to meadows, meadows only for the win
More of a "which BOSS can you skip".
And it would be all of them except moder
Moder the gatekeeper of no boss runs 😢
You could copy paste it to Notepad. Or just hit backspace all the way
Having only 1/7 bosses hardlocking progression isn't that bad
Ye, esp for a game that's all about kill boss move on
just thinking... is there anything to stop you from just killing all yag and queen while skipping moder?
besides own skill
can't enter queen sanctum without blackmetal
Ok this works if you have already hit enter and the color is set, when editing the sight you can backspace even though you do not see the color tag any more?
You can't enter queen's citadel without sealbreaker
forgor that it's pain in the ass to craft if trying to skip stuff
Sealbreaker requires galdr table
Galdr table requires black metal
Black metal requires blast furnace
Blast furnace requires artisan table
Artisan table requires moder
Was hoping for a way to use lava to smelt things in the ashlands as a potential work around to the blackmetal problem 😢
well.. can still skip moder if for some god forsaken reason your only goal is to kill yag
I guess that would be doable for speedrunning
By backspacing you can remove color tags even though you don't see them. But it's a little tricky
Ok thanks I will try that the next time I am in the game.
the moder location is revealed while in an ice cave right?
without any spoilers is the new update good?
so, I'm making a 3rd drakkar to head down to ashlands, again.. land, build portal, mass assault, die, portal destroyed. Almost finished surrounding portal with hoe-walls, maybe this time I can hold some territory... imo it's too much trouble getting there to be faced with this much attack.
thinking about making a fresh world
I did
It makes you think about it differently, that's for sure.... Once you get a beachhead going and can press in it's... well it's still hard
Am I crazy or is the lingering health mead garbage? Having it block instant health pots seems much more of a hazard than the value 25% faster health ticks provides.
Well my chickens are useless now that i got into the ashlands so ill just let them be in my basement for the rest of eternity
For all the server hosts out there, what Valheim Server Hosting do you use?
I am looking to start my own small server but was wondering the "best" one to use
Staff of the wild is actually amazing....
The only bosses that are necessary to defeat in order to progress are Moder and Queen ;D
Though you probably can get to ashlands without the drakkar
I’m going in to fight the queen now!! Wish me luck
you can
yes! another believer
We're curious if bosses will fight each other. Has anyone tried?
Drinking a poison resist mead after getting poisoned doesn't reduce the damage - is this a bug?
Just tried it twice
It reduces duration of poison applied
Aaaah
If you've already been poisoned it won't do anything
bosses are allied with every faction other than player faction (thats you and your tames) iirc 🙂
If this is true then its description is misleading, "You take less damage from poison." "Very resistant VS Posion." lol
Oh well, ty
how does skill loss work? is it a flat value or %
5%
5% by default, world modifiers can change that 🙂
Lose all skill on death is the Valheim equivalent to permadeath
you can also loose the entire inventory 🙂
I remember it reducing both number of ticks and damage per tick
Yep walked that road too
thoughts on the fenris set?
my favorite set of them all (have not been to ashlands yet so well not all because I do not know)
movement speed is pretty good, makes literally everything easier
great 🙂 tho i prefer heavy armor
I will use heavy if no light is available but more often then not i will use fenris an outrun foe if to hard 😄
Is the new mage gear worth?
running away means I can come back again later and fight again 😄 i hate paying that 5% fee for dieing
Many people love the fenris set for the move speed bonus. I prefer Askvin's sets stam reduction after the update though.
In armor value? Not really. In eitr regen 100%
Askvins must be new set
i have always a hard time deciding between fenris and wolf, in BF i get troll (i will not waste bronze, duh) and in swamp i go for iron 🙂 plains and mistlands i go for heavy and ashlands... i didnt play enough to really decide which i like best (but last place goes to magic set since i dont use magic)
pity i am so tired now from dancing that it would not make sense at all to try and reach the ashlands ... because tired as heck
take your time
I personally don't think Eitr regen is worth the lose of armor, hp and stamina
Mage is fun in lower biomes and can be fun in a group but very dangerous if you get caught
mace always imo
I go for Troll, then root, then wolf because i do not want to be flamable when i enter the frostcaves 😄 then Fenris ... will switch to padded for the first steps in the Mist damn bugs i can use the extra armor but then back to fenris for a bit and carapace for the queen fight (to damn many buggers around to be comfy in that old fenris armor)
and then ... well i will find out about ashlands and what is there
Glass cannon build - very OP when used right, disastrous if it goes wrong
only weapon that i make using silver is the frostner and that one carries through to the Mistlands until i can get gear from there
you can easy camp most enemies with wild staff
Ok so
Are 2 handed blood weapons good?
yeah, i kinda know since i played ptb but i still didnt experienced everything they have to offer 😄
Common debate. Do trees regrow after clearing a forest?
Like the greatsword im thinking paired with a stam food counter attack
nope you have to plant them trees back if you want the forest back 😄
Hi all, hopefully everyone is having a fun day!
wish i coul replant rocks also
#SaveRocks, #RePlant
me too... i love to build with the landscape and not destroy all of it and it would be very nice to replace rocks that got damaged by trolls or such ... but alas i am a vanilla gamer - no rock placing for me...
I have my own server running on a spare laptop in the other room. Only ever had 3 - 4 people on simultaneously and it works ok.
That is why I mine rocks and cut wood that cannot be sustainably replant... AKA everything else than beech, in a world dedicated for resource gathering. No metals tho
Saplings constantly regrow and ruin my paths
for one of my builds i made a second world just for stone and wood to preserve the view
So spawn commands are self forbidden?
are you sure you just didn't forget to cut it? I've yet to see them regrow
I will usually go mine rocks and wood some where far away on a continent i will never visit again ... because nothing there i need... so i can have my undisturbed pretty forest base without unsightly scares to the landscape 😄
Might be bugged, didn't work very well when I used them.
scars, you mean?
jupp... i love the challenge to make it work with what is there in the game and not spawn in anything i never did and i never will... I will go stand by a spawner and hit them monsters untill i find the trophy i want rather 😄
yeah scars... tha problem with being so tired 😄 typos sneak in my typing in a foreign language 😄
Hmm maybe. I'm usually pretty good about clearing everything on the path and I've revisited pathways where there are saplings I'm sure weren't there before. Maybe they move
kinda wish i could put the new skeleton trophies on an armor stand and form a full demon skeleton
