If I usually farm 1k corruption when doing lost cache echoes, and have a "pushed" corruption that's 1.7k, but I sometimes die there, where should I spend my conquered towers? In the highest corruption, right?
Yes I mainly only use the item database on it so I just call it database most of the time
When did vendors start selling exalteds? I haven't been checking them as I never even knew that was a thing.

Yeah it happens to me mostly when I am spamming boss fights. After 10 or so (still random). It will lock up and I just port away and back.
Every now and then it also eats some stability as if you failed the boss. I try to keep that in mind as well.
if i imprint an item that has been slammed does it only drop the item as if it wasn't slammed?

That's a boss only drop from Shade of Orobyss, so it won't drop from Commoner's Riches Imprint - which only does random drop items

if you aren't sure, you can look the item up on a site like https://www.lastepochtools.com/db/ or https://lastepoch.tunklab.com/uniques and down at the bottom if it doesn't mention "random drop", then it doesn't work with Imprints
For example on Apathy's Maw it just mentions Shade fight and Confluence of Oblivion woven echo which has a bunch of Shades.

Although note many of them are designed for switching to with a high level character, for example 75+, sometimes with certain items. so may want to instead start with a leveling guide and then switch/respec into a different build later.

yeah, it won't drop Apathy's Maw as that's boss only. maybe it'll do something like there's a chance random 2H Axe drop or whatever that probably isn't very helpful
you'd be better off Imprinting an Exalted item or a Unique that is a random drop

You are able to respec/change your mastery in the End of Time area. So you can always change from Marksman to Falconer or Bladedancer later. You can change everything except the inital class selection.
If you wanted to play a different class, you'd make a new character.

Conquered towers. Basically you need to farm amber. Best is to imprint a rampant coast echo, and then buy amber from the ancient shop

Yeah, you just pray that it upgrades the exalts. And while you’re there, put your 0lp items into the EGG, but only at area lvl 100 and preferably cof rank 8 and above (less chance to brick them)
The first 2t7 is the hardest for each item type, then you can imprint. But to be fair, if the unique is an easy 2lp and you got like mid rolls, you can slam a 76 exalt or even a 75. For example, I’ve been running around with a 75 enigma up until today, and my char already heats uber in like 80 secs. So don’t sweat the 2t7s that much imo
is there a sweet spot corruption to do this at?
What if the sealed affix is T7 does that have a high chance to bounce onto the normal affixes as well as the actual sealed affix if over 30fp even if it isn't together in unison?
And if I have a tier 7 sealed champion or set affix, will it break the entire imprint or have a chance to bounce over to another one even if you can't get the set affix or champion affix to drop through an imprint?

I think people were saying before that corruption doesn't make a real different to the nemesis drops so just do what is comfortable or faster I think

Corruption doesnt influence the empower proccess
But does give you better base item to empower

Corruption affects the nemesis so at the start he may have a 2 or 3 t7 item that you can empower and maybe get lucky so higher corruption better exalts from nemesis but its rng you still may get crap exalts ,empower is not affected by corruption though

You’re not guaranteed a 2xt7 from imprints if you have a 2xt7 imprinted. There’s reroll chances.
There’s a 9% chance you get a 2xt7 when it procs. So most of the time you get something worse.
And all affixes can reroll. You should watch frozensentinels video about how to craft a imprint base for slamming

With regards to this I had wondered if I could put the t7 champion affix on the sealed imprint slot to get it to drop since it only drops off champions anyway but then champion type would matter so I would assume maybe not. But am still curious if I should try it lol.
Well I did watch the video just up from my post but the sealed affix tier wasn't mentioned, so was trying to test if I could unseal the T7 affix, and here I think it might have, or else it just luckily rolled an extra T6 I guess and went from 76s7 to 766.
Do 76 regularly turn into 766 from imprints? Two others that dropped in the same pile interestingly both had t7 added health as their only exalted affix both single 7's with only the sealed affix overwriting the suffix. Since sealed affixes are non-runeable, I was wondering if any of these items I have with sealed 7's can be warped back into regular craftable triplets.

Sealed affix can replace any of the existing non sealed t7s.

Oh yeah I see the part saying its like 1/1000 so it does happen, I guess it was just random chance possibly impacting my result, but it was after it had only been imprinted for like 5-10 echoes lol

I use avalanche to generate mad stacks of storm and then let them rip with tempest strike that is my entire build currently lol
you have to put two points in a completely useless node to get to it though, but its very effective
Im using tempest strike for stacks of lagon and mana regen for more avalanch dumps
I do have gathering storm specialized though, but I don't "use" it ever as a skill

I don't channel it, I actually basically double tap it, I chop for about 2-3 seconds and drop two avalanches and then chop more and keep repeating on loop to maintain the best dps I think without pushing myself oom but you can't stand still for long anyway without risking dying so I would say double tapping is how I avalanche

yeah that would be quite insane, interestingly I have made another character that I was messing around with dots on, and I was using tempest strike to instead cast whirlwinds that buff attack speed and dropped orbs to apply hits for ailments from spell hits faster, but that aftershock thing is pretty neat, thats a lot of procs in 2 second. I have been trying to push 3 attacks in 1 seconds as that is my buff limit but 10 seems quite wild to me unless I am missing something. Even with dual wielding I was thinking the increased attack speed is all I get rather than, double hits per attack or whatever. I am curious now if I could apply 10 melee attacks in 2 seconds somehow.

oh yeah sorry its actually tornado, it all relies on having a reasonably fast base attack speed but it ramps up quite a lot obviously then with more, in the Tornado tree the attack and cast speed buff thing, I used to use it for mana regen back when we had zero in our tree, but the attack speed was interesting for that specific use of trying to proc more, I enjoy having some autocasts so I can use less buttons as I play with WASD as well. Tempest strike also lets you make the tornado even bigger than normal but its hard to get enough + skill points to use it that way on top of trying to shoot normal tempests to proc it from the top left of the tree and also keep mana regen and speed
combining these sorts of things in the tempest tree for the dot approach I was along with the lagon stacks obviously for damage buffs and the mana regen from no normal tempests at all
its fun, how good that one is I dunno as I just toyed with it on an alt but you can decide lol

Not really, the commonly used sources are passives, spriggan companion's aura, and bear form's flat spell per strength

Same vein, if you die and use a key to revive in temporal sanctum you don’t get to use the legendary crafting thing.

that's a prefix and suffix, so you're on a good path
unless you get really lucky you'll need to craft and reimprint
first try and seal 1 of the affixes and imprint the helm with 3 total affixes without losing too much FP
then when you get a 3 affix drop, you craft your desired affix on the helm and try to seal the other, if you fail, keep farming
once you succeed, craft the other desired affix and havoc
ok so step 1 imprint and get another 77
then seal a t1 affix
and then reimprint
t1 is just guaranteed, it's not like won't try if you get a drop with both t4s
even if both are t5s, just try anulling it

so with the open affix i get from sealing i put the affix i want and then rune of havoc in hopes for t7?
at that point you'll have only 1 desired affix
let me rephrase
Step 1: get a double t7 and imprint -> DONE
step 2: get it with correct prefix/suffix combo and reimprint-> DONE
step 3: create a double t7 with only 3 affixes and imprint -> work in progress
step 4: craft on desired affix on empty slot and try to seal the other, if fail keep farming, if success craft second desired affix and havoc -> comes later

This feels like a dumb question. I’ve seen the loading screen tip that talks about elemental penetration based on the level of your map, which goes up to 75. Does that mean I truly need 150 in each element?

So what is that tip talking about?
enemes get 1% all pen per area level, up to 75
so with 75% resistance they cancel each other out
this makes every 1% resistance actually give 1% damage reduction
rather than in like path of exile where going from 80% res to 90% res cuts incoming damage by 50%
So they cancel each other out, but some still gives 1% per point? Honestly that confused me more :x
okay so a 100 dmg hit comes in at you and you have 75% resistance, the enemy has 75% pen so you take 100 damage
if you have 70% resistance you take 105 damage from that 100 damage hit
yea just dont forget resistances cap at 75%
tho having some overcapped res is always nice for zones that cast curse of death

the tldr is, don't worry about being slightly undercapped on resistances

Is Merchant guilds better than CoF to farm/obtain uniques for specifics builds ?
eh, its more what playstyle you prefer. MG is prolly easier if you know what to sell and can make money. tho its pretty dead later in seasons. CoF is just self buffs so its pretty consistent
i personally have played CoF every season and have been able to put together the items for the builds i wanted to try. it does take some farming, though. but if the build you want needs a very rare item to function, MG could be nice for that. really however you want to play. i enjoy the CoF loot explosions.

if T7 Increased Health is the only thing that matters, you could raise +Anomaly to T3 so that both Increased Health and Anomaly are T3. No, instead corruption gives more xp so you can get more prophecies, and slightly increases average LP and WW of dropped uniques.

something that was missed: penetration applies after resistance is capped
so overcapping resistance does not provide additional protection against the innate enemy res pen
it does give protection against resist shred effects, but those are rare enough not to be too much of an issue and are cleansable
the enemy resistance pen is there to make having uncapped resistances not as super punishing as it is in some other ARPG's
where missing 5 res from a cap of 75 means you're taking 20% more damage from that damage type (5/25 = 20%)

What is the deal with experimental affixes, is it just a straight 50% chance to be either prefix in the Rune Prison?

Yeah that is basically what I was finding too, I was thinking about that though, and it occurred to me, if you say, did a 5 pointed Upheaval which is a melee skill, and it hit 5 different mobs all in different places, it could proc 5 at once is what it is isn't it? So you can only proc it 10 times in 2 secs on AoE melee attacks is likely why it exists as a limit.
I desperately need more attack speed anyway as I changed my mainhand to sceptre instead of a sword and its slow enough for me to notice myself dying between the time I pressed fury leap, and the time he actually uses it now lol so having to slap attack speed on my gloves now
Penetration and Armor Shred are 2 different bucket
Penetration and Resistance Shred are additive together
So no it doesn't loose potency, but there is linear return with penetration
Armor shred is one multipler. Res penetration + res shred is another multipler.
Dont know. But it feels fully random to me.
thanks I was starting to wonder, but I guess I don't have many ways to get either so both together are good then still. Thinking about it logically they are both great then though even in small amounts I should definitely be taking them both. Freeze is great but it is kind of annoying on bosses when it makes them sometimes go into overdrive throwing multiple big attacks all at once overlapping.
Experimental affixes do feel like a bit of a melt to try and get right when crafting. Especially if you want a set affix on say, your shoes.... lol
there’s an armor dmg reduction calculator on tunklab. For each element. You can use that in reverse to see how but multipler you get from armor shred.
There’s a clear drop off. So depending on your attack speed, you don’t need a lot of shred to get most of the value from it
Nvm. There’s a shred tab. You don’t even need to do the reverse math
Just look at number of stacks of armor shred and look up the multipler value in the graph
Had to be a hit though if I remember correctly. Doesn’t work if you’re a dot build.
I dropped like 250% armour shred on my mainhand the other day and it is pretty damn noticeable while I try to replace it on my amulet instead. Dropping both shreds for freeze was extremely noticeable and +hit to frozen targets doesn't feel as good as them.
Which reminds me of my next question lol, how good is added 0.07 cold cast speed from the set affix on amulet of the invoker on a normal amulet? That one really confused me
Weird. On a fresh CF character I just got a timeline to 134c but when I start another timeline I am not getting the instant shade fight that lets you catchup corruption

I often find it easiest to raise Corruption in one timeline, then use that catch up mechanic to boost the others

In game you'll see them referred to as Jewelry, for example with Imprints. On lastepochtools.com site, it's referred to as Accessories in the menu.

Condense rules if you can
Ie: instead of 3 rules for decent good great items, make 1 rule for all 3
I disabled single t6 and its still showing...
Open the filter screen with items on the ground. Next to the item names you'll see a number, which corresponds to the filter line number that is making the item show. If they're hidden and you push the key to toggle the filter, on a keyboard that is typically the X key, it will then show what filter line is hiding the item.

I was trying to hide anything with 1 tier of any with 6 or less, but that didn't really work either as it will blast any 76 even or 776 I think and just add every affix possible excluding idols etc.

Is there any better way to farm Temporal Keystones? Do they drop more if stability is kept full or anything? They are very handy for banging out timeline boss prophecies but unsure there is any way to get more of them better. Yes, but like Father said they can take the place of the affix, so if you have a sealed T7 suffix and a natural T7 suffix it would result in fewer 2T7s than sealed T7 suffix and natural T7 prefix.
But since your suffix is sealed T7 and you have natural T7 prefixes, yeah it's essentially 3T7 for imprint sake. Granted if the sealed affix is high reroll chance (eg. hybrid health) the seal will proc less often than a natural affix, if low reroll chance it will proc more often than a natural affix.
so we really want the lowest rarity affixes we need on the imprint and to craft and havoc the rarer affixes on then? I hadn't really considered that. I was trying to get the rarer affixes so they could duplicate but I gather now that may be counter productive

I was trying to work out in my head if there might be a way to craft something crazy like this or better item using it, even if crazy low RNG or whatever, just out of curiosity. But am unsure, exactly what happens to the "rest" of the item other than the sealed affix that gets moved that is referred to in the tooltip. I guess I considered it even just like, making champions drop a new affix that I want, but I assume the rest of the item that drops is RNG entirely other than maybe the subtype?
Or alternatively for trying to seal T7 movement speed on boots just to save me FP trying to seal set affix on boots before adding another affix to put in the experimental rune prison machine to add haste on traversal to boots with a set prefix, as well as having movement speed t7 easier, since I have to havoc the experimental affix if I want t7 without losing the t7 movement speed or crit avoidance, even if I don't care about that particular set affix being only t1+ or whatever although it also has +chance to give haste so preferably a little above 1 is still beneficial. I guess after creating this item, the t7 movement speed might be excessive anyway if I could actually get that much haste given that Fury Leap cd is 3.6s and I cast it on cd, but more is always nice. No, it's just saying that when you select Empower that the Nemesis will drop random Exalted weapons that upgrade into "Avenged" version after they're used to defeat a Harbinger. The ones with a "Upgrade when you slay a Harbinger" Implicit line. And the Avenged version shows what type of Implicit you get. Here's a list of those weapons.

All cosmetics are able to be equipped on all classes. The only ones that are restrictive are weapon/offhand ones, which can only apply to the listed weapons/offhand types (basically ones with the same animations).

Yes, the Armor Cosmetics can be used by any class. Also the Back Attachments.
The Weapon Cosmetics are often for a certain type of weapon, for example if it says Two Handed Staff then it's not going to used on a One Handed Sword.
And the Skill Cosmetics are for a certain Skill. Example the Polar Bear Summon Cosmetic is just for the Primalist Beastmaster.
Oh and the pets in the pet section are usable by everyone.

If you want a primo exalted champion, the Woven echo with all the beasts is where you want to go

It's around 18% for 2T7 imprint to give 2T7 output on proc, vs about 50% for 1T7 output. Of course there are a lot of variables that can make that higher or lower, and also the proc rate will vary, and the proc itself can give more than one item.

So I have this kinda complicated question about the off hand catalyst "Gordian Prism" in combination with the Body Armor "Fundamental criterion" :
Gordian prism says that no matter what rune combination I use, it will always cast Grand Prism nova. Plus it will convert the novas base damage into whatever runes I used to invoke it with.
Lets say i will use Gon Gon Gon to invoke it, that means it will completely be lightning damage.
Does that mean I need to stack Dexterity then because of Fundamental Criterion because it now has Gon Rune as second Rune? Or does it stay Rah Rune as second Rune which would mean i need to stack attunement?

It takes a Boots, Gloves, or Belt with 2x Prefixes. It takes 1 FP to use. It won't accept an item that already has an Experimental Prefix. When, I guess any skill, is converted in any way, from physical to cold, lightning, poison, whatever, the tooltip usually gives an indication of what changes. But I am wondering is that Gospel or is that just for info, and do skill conversions all apply the same? Like Bleed -> Frostbite, Slow -> Chill, but if it doesn't state it, does it still change Stun -> Freeze Rate Multiplier? Like are all conversions absolute in that respect, or do we actually have to pay attention to what the tooltip states? I would assume they are total even if it doesn't say it, but it's hard to tell when it applies directly to the skill itself and not your character sheet as such. Curious about this as it seems logical it might apply but wanted to check.

The t6 has to ”fail” and reroll, then it needs to roll a t7 with like a 1-2% chance.

And many hits per hammer means even more dot applications

Content wise nothing. Seasonal characters simply get transferred to legacy at the end of the season so people can have a fresh start in the new season if they want to

How much +freezerate or freeze per chill is required to freeze Ubberoth with concoction from potion use? And I see that warcry says 1.5 sec stun on use, and it seems to suggest it is guaranteed in the node that reduces cooldown that I use, but am going to drop to take the stricter cc application, but it doesn't seem to tell me the freezerate of warcry when converted anywhere, so it is 100% guaranteed freeze when used and it hits even on Uberroth?
Concoction also seems to be a problem as, if I need to actually heal or use my brew masters buckle then its going to accidentally freeze it too. But I would need to calculate the threshold for accompanying freeze affixes required to land it consistently opposed to a guaranteed freeze.
Freeze affixes and frostbite seem a bit of a negative to me now after being really excited about building freeze into my build finally. And being forced to use warcry this way, really messes with my melee attack speed buff from it by making its cooldown kind of awful again. I think I need to change both my weapons too after realizing how bad it sort of is as I am using Freezing Ire and Yruns Pennance... In fact, I seem to have very little reason to be using cold damage at all now after analysing all of this. Other than physical will rely more on armour shred I guess. But didn't someone tell me enemies have no actual armour so the armour part vs physical is non-factor?
Alternatively, is it possible to build so much freeze affixes, that you can chain freeze Uberroth to an extent at which, you practically cancel all his skill before he lands them? I know there is a freeze/stun immunity after being cc'd like in most games, but I can't see anywhere it tells me exactly what that is or how it works in detail. And I gather that boss ward possibly exists to stop us burning bosses down in one go, but I imagine it also forces periods of heightened CC resistance too. Are guaranteed freezes/stuns the only reliable/consistent way to use it for bosses?

I guess the way I was thinking of that as even if it is a percent chance to freeze, if it was 10% chance to freeze, and I could make say, 10 chances to freeze a second, it would be reasonably consistent wouldn't it? And then the immunity would also factor in, if it is 1 second or whatever as well. That was what I sort of meant by that, not so much guaranteed but consistent when toggled or whatever, like I could achieve a stun in around 2 seconds or 3 seconds etc. if I could understand the exact thresholds and know my exact chance to stun said target. I guess perhaps that Tunk place could let me work that out but I am not great with technical information like that so I'll probably screw the calculation up lol

I am little confused about Swarmblade form's Swarm strike and Locust swarm it creates.
Swarm strike has scaling tags for both strength and attunement just like Swarmblade form but Locust swarm only has attunement tag
since it is subskill is that just ignored and it inherits both str/att scalings from Swarm strike?
Locust swarm's attunement scaling also includes freeze rate multiplier which is not in Swarm strike's attunement scaling, does Locust swarm still get it? (provided Swarmblade has been converted to cold)
Swarm strike skill says the locust swarm scales from added melee damage and that each locust consumed gives added melee and poison damage. Will it also get the bonuses from consumed locusts or is it just the initial hit that gets those?
this being the only melee damage over time skill (at least I didn't find others) makes it bit confusing to comprehend.
Would I just be safe assuming things work normally except everything that would normally say spell now says melee?
Edit: found character to test these, the damage over time part does inherit strength, added melee, increased melee etc. modifiers normally only thing I couldnt test was the freeze multiplier because that's very hard to test

Are there any abilities that have pops or explosions? For example in poe or torchlight infinite you can do stuff like ice pops or chaos pops where you are hitting the enemies and getting very satisfying popping sounds when clearing packs. It can vary on the ailment also like in poe 2 there are blood explosion doing physical damage that sound different from like ice or poison explosions.
I mean, if you kill frozen stuff it makes a frozen shattering noise so I know freezing does make a different sound for their death if you are into it

I'm a little late here, but just want to note that you don't need to change language to respec mastery; you can still open the respec menu by clicking her second option (the one with the door that says something like "Leave" in your set language).

Yes, locust swarm is a subskill of swarm strike, so swarm strike's attribute scaling and all modifiers to it are passed down to locust swarm... unless you convert locust swarm to scale with minion damage, then it scales with basically nothing.
The effects from consuming locusts with swarm strike don't affect the swarm strike hit at all, they only apply to the created locust swarm.
Not sure about freeze rate, it's pretty pitiful if it gets any at all, I'm not sure I've ever seen locust swarm freeze. Just to warn you, only locust swarm's physical half converts to cold, poison stays poison despite all your actual poisons being converted to frostbite lol (bug since 0.9 🥲 ).
Earthquake's aftershocks can be converted to melee DOT as well, they are a natural pairing with locust swarm to supplement single target via aftershock idols.
yeah I definitely need to test the aftershocks next season, for now I planned the build in where I use swarmblade form to create the locust swarm and then swap to bear and go full in on melee as the locust swarm scales from all the same things as swipe except crit. So I wouldnt use damage over time modifiers anywhere.
though aftershocks converted or not would scale with same things so definitely want to try and include those, too bad that I would have to give up on the health + crit avoidance idols to use it
oh and 15 points in shaman to get EQ is gonna be hard fit since I also want boar dodge + 10 point node at the end of druid for end threshold

how are the locusts during boss fights?
normal areas I can spawn them when they cant fly to enemies and then absorb them for the 20sec locust swarm
but I have concern that they will melt against boss before I can spawn max amount, meaning I would lose chunk of my locust swarm dps.
Can they survive 3-5 seconds without dying against something like Aberoths ground degens
or do I need to sacrifice suffix somewhere for minion health etc.
If you summon them by hitting your hives usually you can spawn them fast enough
Yeah, I summon a couple of hives, smack them a couple times to cap locust count, and then immediately swarm strike before they can fly off. No real issues during boss fights, as long as you are able to stand still-ish for a second
Dive also counts as a hit on your hives, so I typically use that as the first hit while clearing (I spawn the hives a lil ahead of me and dive to them)

I'm confused as to why your abomination is not doing any damage. I played an abom build briefly at the beginning of Season 3 and it was absolutely shredding everything with almost no items.
I would suggest you read a guide or watch a video on the abomination summoning process. It's a bit involved with the skill slot swapping but thankfully you only need to do it when you first log in or if you die.

beastmaster is a little slow to start dmg wise but EQ bear is one of the best builds in the game. but BM also has plenty of other options that are very viable.
forgeguard has forged weapons, and there are a couple variants that can be pretty good.
falconer class is and has been one of the best for multiple seasons now and pretty much anything works cuz its 'falcon'

Honestly the essence of the question is subjective. It simply hinges on your good faith in ehg (which for a lot of people is wearing thin, which while understandable is based on nothing that's actually happened, but pure speculation); that they wouldn't make the class op on purpose.

My opinion is that I think there's a pretty good chance the paradox class will be fairly strong, there's a chance they'll even be op. But not intentionally so. Balancing arpg's is hard and it's easy to let something crazy strong slip through the cracks like we've seen many times for the normal masteries. So while I doubt they'd make it the strongest/most op class on purpose I do think they'll want to make it strong which carries the risk of it being op. If it is I still have faith that they'd nerf it either mid season if it's caused by a bug or the season after if it's not.

The weaver imprint system is kind of frustrating me trying to craft all my gear still. I gather that people keep telling me to spam Nemesis until you get lucky or prophecies until you get lucky and drop tiers 77 in anything or whatever, and then use 771s to get that to start dropping stuff and keep recrafting it until you get the affixes you want. But it FEELS to me like the imprint system would be more intuitive and more useful for progression if it actually let me craft low tier items with the affixes I want, and then gave me increased chances at those affixes dropping at higher tiers or something. I keep hearing that the tier is more important than the affix at first, but I feel like that is backwards and making the entire system significantly less fun or targeted to me.
I can't for the life of me see any reason I would not just go trading next time around and just buy items because all this crafting is not enjoyable to me when it is so rng and unintuitively confusing
I get that it is an ARPG and RNG is part of the territory, but progression feels completely random and not enjoyable. I also gather progression isn't really a thing in ARPGs as its usually a copy and paste job with lowest common denominators or low hanging fruit, play one you don't have to like, in order to farm gear for one you like sort of stuff. But as someone that likes to change my build as I go or experiment, it feels frustrating at times. I also feel like I am changing my build more often than not, because the exalted loot I need just isn't dropping at all no matter how hard I target farm these methods.
I also don't understand why the "armour and reduced bonus damage from critical strikes" has a lower percent than "critical strike avoidance and added dodge rating", I feel like these should be equal for some reason it is just irritating me when theory crafting a lot.

yeah but the constant defences are constantly being hit and the conditionals only hit sometimes. So there is also that. And also, you need a 7 an 5 for avoidance, you need a 7 5 and a 1... for reduced to max it which feels stupid
avoidance feels better in every way from using it even on my armour build which is also why it is sort of annoying
Just make sure you pick those points first in the skeletal mage tree I mentions above.
They assumed you have skill lvl 24 when you picked nodes. But you’ll probably only going to have 10 after initial respec

Reduced damage from crits is a better stat than avoidance any day of the week for a simple reason if your avoidance isn't 100 then you are screwed 99 avoidance means you are getting crit and you die no matter what,meanwhile 70 reduced is more than enough most of the time to get by does not need to be 100 at all,most Sentinel can run helmet and get 70 to 85 reduced crits and call it a day
That use doesn't make it better any day of the week by a longshot. If I was to use my example it would be the entire opposite. I am taking about the stats in general, and also, you are still taking 15% extra damage from crits in your example. That is really terrible logic. Dodge is generally more gambly yes I understand that but that doesn't really change anything. Also if you want to look at it that armour is better than dodge because it is constant, it is also significantly easier to get armour as it is quite literally on every piece of equipment you wear already, and you get more of it on the +armour stat than you do dodge, and armour also only reduces damage up to a certain amount so it is not 100% avoiding the damage. I still think it is odd they choose to then by your logic, make us want to take some extra damage from crits instead of having 100% of it, considering, the bigger the hit, the bigger the problem is going to be. Whereas with dodge you could dodge multiple hits in a row, and never get hit once, meaning if you are good at manually dodging combined with your dodge chance, you can actually just face dodge some things and hope for the best and go through entire fights without taking any real hits at all.
So I would have to massively disagree that reduced damage from crits is a better stat than avoidance
Dodge is a lot more broken than armor ,specially guarantee dodge ,you should try to incorporate some armor for Dr but rogue can and will be tankier if they want than other classes,reduced crit will never need to be 100% needed to be maxed i would know played enough of the game meanwhile 99 avoidance its crap so yeah reduced its way better

As a Sentinel I dont want that stat at all I rather have 80 reduced and call it a day and dont need to invest into useless stat for me
Since beginning of times both stats are good but if a person has to choose between both reduced its straight up better value cause I dont have to be forced to max it. In 1.0 we didn't have 3t7 gear hell even 2 t7 was rare so yeah reduced did a better job any day of the week
Whenever I die is not because I am getting crit its because base damage of the mob abilities its way to high like the necrotic golem or fire enemies that can one shot and such ,i had people not be able to kill the guardians and I just go and kill them no matter what corr they are with no crit avoidance
I play in HC avoidance is useless unless you have 100%. Crit damage reduction is useful no matter how much you have.

My argument, even this tiny amount of flat dodge with one item swap can be easily turned into 40% chance to dodge all hits, whereas I wanted the armour, as I am an armour build, which would seem logical, but the dodge rating and avoidance is cheaper affix wise, and gives me less bonus with armour.
I do not have 3t7 gear or even 2t7 gear yet as I am playing the season again only for the last month or two from scratch so that does not apply to me.
You just reiterated your arguement again that taking 15% increased damage from crits over 0% for some base armour is ok, when the base armours value itself is diminished by the fact you will be soaking more bigger hits so you are going to need it really aren't you. It is actually less efficient not maxing it in that respect.

I have a passive that reduces all damage by 8% from shocked targets, I guess that isn't really neccesary either as damage is not a factor in this game at all

That's the thing you don't hell with Sentinel you need 1 or in some cases one is needed ,like necro beastmaster only need 1 affix not 2 so I can get better stats like health
because your lich can soak hits or something with none, nobody ever needs damage reduction ever

You’re comparing apples and oranges.
That affect ALL dmg you can take. The other only lowers the max crit hit dmg you take. Which in itself is a low 5%.
Just stop wanting the affixes, I get the advice, just take more damage, sure, I will just keep using avoidance instead then. I am sorry I even mentioned it. People seem to give bad advice in here regularly
it might even be something as minor as "because 2H can get the reduced damage as affix so we lowered the amount other gear gets" etc.
1 stat alone of crit dmg reduction is useful. 1 alone crit avoidance isn’t.
That’s why avoid is ”cheaper”
and that might be it, without asking we will never know for sure if that was the actual intent

But you’re still getting a benefit from 1 crit dmg reducing affix’s that’s why it’s more expensive.

For Beastmaster, yes, if you put 10 points into Ancient Might. If you put just 5 to unlock the bonus it would be 15%
For Necromancer, you need 5 points in Towering Death to unlock bonus for the 30%

it's about the journey and choices.
imagine you're on a new char and want to start mitigating crits dmg. putting on 1 crit avoid affix doesn't do anything for you.
but putt on 1 crit dmg reduction affix and you become tankier.
this is why it's more "expensive".
this is your entrance into mitigating crits, so then you keep going with a second crit dmg reduction as next step.
then you have a choice, either go for a third to become crit immune, or go for the more powerful per slot crit avoid but then you need to fix both of them at the same time.
so there's a trade off. take the easier rout and get 1 more at the cost of 3 affixes
or take the more difficult rout and change out 2 pieces at the same time and gain 1 free affix.
you also have a choice later at endgame depending on your tankyness.
if you're trying to survive e.g. a uber slam that does 4k hit and 8k crit, if you can only survive 4k, you need to get immune, so then crit avoid is better
but lets say you can survive a 5k crit, or 6k, or 7k? then you can forgo the avoid and only get crit reduction dmg on 1 piece and free up 1 affix.
it's made this way to give you choices from a new char, to an endgame/optimized one.
granted in SC, ppl don't usually bother with all these steps. But in HC, it matters.
only complain about what you said is the "1 crit avoid affix doesn't do anything for you."
it still does something, it will still prevent 10% of crits, some of those can be crits that would kill a guy with non-maxed crit reduction while leaving you alive because you avoided 100% of the extra damage.

haven't tried the skelly pop version, but used to play skelly mage-archmage-cryomancer low life necro every season.
was my favorite build.
it was never super strong but keept getting nerfed every patch due to them trying to nerf other stuff.

gloves specific scaling for it
make sure your not trying to apply one of the primalist specific cast speed affixes as those only go on helmet and/or body armor

you need to find a 3lp spine (which is prolly the hard part in this) and a 2h sword with double exalted affix. this isnt something you are likely to farm quickly

it's not a "leading" question at all. they have said they are opting to not gate content behind a paywall, opting instead to introduce classes. that's atypical, so it raises completely valid questions, such as "how will you ensure that something that's paid for isn't also just better?"
if the paid classes are balanced with everything else and you're just paying for something optional and different, that's fine. however, this game is competitive and there is a person-to-person economy to keep in mind, so the question as to whether people who opt to not pay will be negatively impacted by someone who opts to pay.
that's not leading, it's a question with context.
a leading question would be me asking something like "how much better will the paradox classes be than the existing classes?", because that question presumes that they will be better.
