There is no non crit portion of the hit, the whole thing is etiher a crit or not. If it worked like you're suggesting it would say something like "Bonus damage from critical strikes does not apply to leech"

Hey, sorry for the deleted message — just wanted to reword this more clearly.
I understand that each hit is either fully a crit or not, but the issue is how leech is handled once it’s flagged as a crit.
With Peak of the Mountain, “You cannot Leech Health from Critical Strikes.”
The wording makes it sound like only the critical portion of the damage should be excluded, while the base damage should still allow leech. Example:
Normal hit = 100 dmg → 10% leech = +10 life (works as intended)
Crit hit (300% multi) = 300 dmg → expected +10 (from base 100), actual = +0
So basically, every crit completely blocks leech, and at 100% crit, it becomes permanent. I do not got any leach at all and wording just sounds like i would STILL be able to leach , i was counting as if did normal hits.
Could this interaction be revisited or clarified — is full leech disable on crits intended, or should base damage still count toward leech?

If i have 1% chance to crit hit, 99% of time i get leech, that 1 crit hit in 100 hits return 0 leech. But at 100% critical, leach effectively becomes 0%.
If you feel the wording is unclear or if you want to change how it functions please post it in the #feedback channel. To me personally the result reflects the text pretty well. The wording "Critical strikes" refers to the strike itself (which is a crit), and not to something like bonus damage from critical strikes or critical damage or anything similar.
Not without dramatic reworks of the critical strike functionality, a significant departure from the expected functionality established by the genre and a lot of rebalancing.
The wording established by other properties, most notably reduced bonus damage taken from critical strikes, further reinforce the current wording and functionality.
It is possible to add an additional explanation to the alt text of Peak of the Mountain. I can't say I personally agree with adding it but as it is a relatively low text unique already, I could see it being useful in some situations.
The functionality and wording in game are intended and are working as intended.

At 100% critical chance, the statement
“You cannot leech Health from Critical Strikes” effectively becomes “You cannot leech Health,” since every hit is a crit and all leech is disabled.
So while the current logic technically matches the engine behaviour, the player-facing text creates confusion. For example, at 50% crit chance, leech is effectively halved (since half your hits can’t leech), but at 100% crit chance, it becomes 0%.
That makes the line “You cannot leech Health from Critical Strikes” behave functionally as “You cannot leech Health once all hits are critical.”
If that’s intended, the item description could be clearer to reflect that total leech disable occurs at 100% crit. Otherwise, the current wording and in-game result contradict each other in feel and clarity.
I'm sorry but I disagree with the assessment that it is contradictory or unclear.
If all hits are critical and you can't leech from crits then you can't leech feels very straight forward, expected and logical to me.
That's not to say that I'm right or anything, if you'd like more than just me to consider this, please add it to #feedback and it will be looked at by the team.
Is base damage conversion passed down nowadays or is it something you guys go through and add to the nodes case by case? Since I feel like in the past the conversion nodes basically never changed anything on the tree unless specified, but nowadays they seem to change almost everything including converting some sub-skills, or am I mistaken?
It is not passed down automatically, whenever it passes down we do that manually on a case by case basis. We are trying to make more and more things pass down so the expectation should be that it does but it is not automatic.
Yeah that's what I thought. It's just that before the standard assumption for me was that nothing like that got passed down or affected other things unless specified but nowadays more and more things do convert/affect other nodes and sub-skills without mentioning it. Like afaik mana storm in mana strike doesn't get converted to cold alongside it but it's kinda hard to tell. I guess the tags would change for the ones you can get as a popup and you can always check the damage of course
For clarity, leech is not completely disabled in that scenario. Leech from hits would always be 0 because all hits are crits and you cannot leech from crits.
However, you can still leech from other sources, such as DoT which is not a hit.

CM are CM so it's reasonable and possible of they have no idea what are they should care.

not in dialogue, but in certain moments of the campaign. For example, after arriving in the ruined world, after defeating the husk of Elder Pannion, entering the ruins of Welryn and the ruined temple of eterra, or emerging back in the Divine Era in the Solarium.
These are one off lines voiced by your character.
I'm not sure, we don't have a great system for subtitles in general. It's something we could work on though.
We are interested in expanding the localization options at some point but are currently focused on improving the ones we have as they are not quite up to the quality that we want yet.

Tell me please - does blood infusion from rip blood - the one that increase minion dmg by 15 % - should it increase volatile zombie vomit dmg when they start vomitting and are hit by blood splatter - or I am missing something? I dont see vomit dot dmg increased by it? 🙂 Thanks for clarification if there is some mistake! 🙂
If the zombie gains a damage buff mid vomit then that vomit will not get any stronger as the ability object already exists.

I've had 4 in total in my 1700isy Steam hours. And all of them are extremely common, low LPL items. Normal.
that's pretty lucky for not going above 300c 4LP is extremely rare and there are some 1LPs that are harder to get than some 4LPs. Heck, there are some 0LPs that are probably harder to get.
I've only dropped a single bastion in around 2k hours
(never targeted it, which is relevant)
4 LPs are also cursed items, imagine getting one and then spend 1k hours to get the perfect Exalted item 😄

I know this might not be something you're able to go into yet, but if possible could you speak as to what this means for last epoch in particular and what exactly the press release means when they mention in game AI services?
From what I can gather (translating) it sounds like it'll have pretty much no impact except maybe introduce some AI centric tools that EHG can use. But the article likely doesn't cover the full picture. Seems to basically be that they want to use AI for a lot of internal management work, doesn't really say anything about doing the same for their subsidiaries.
This is also just not really the place to ask about such things, this channel is more for in-game questions. So you're unlikely to get an official answer here regarding things like this.

Is there a way to determine which ailment conversion takes priority when they both convert from the same damage type without testing it? as in if I have one item stat/property stating I convert all ignites to bleeds, and then another that states I convert all ignites to frostbite, which wins? I would assume frostbite since it's higher in the priority order of damage types.
Also, is the priority order a consequence of the order in which the object (skill) applies stats. As in does it apply them in reverse order, meaning the last one to apply (first in priority) overrides the previous mutually exclusive stats, or does it just not apply mutually exclusive stats after seeing one, meaning it checks them in the priority order.

the source generally defines the order like items normally take priority over skill trees. If they are both in skill trees then it should say on the nodes which one wins.

I think we don't have an example of that very intentionally because of this issue. I think we would put it on the alt text which one wins. I'd have to go digging to find out what the order is but there is a set order. I'm not sure if it's based on which slot is grabbed first or which ailment just has priority.

I'm repeating on purpose, primarily because of this line from the article:

because those are 2 things that AI is literally garbage at doing. AI literally cannot "create" in the sense that it can create something novel, it can only generate based on the underlying training set, and it sucks at solving complex problems (although it is good at solving one narrow, specific problem, if it's trained to do so).

That would be greatly appreciated. As more of us are learning about what Krafton is up to, the concern within the community seems to be growing. Especially as we haven't heard anything meaningful from EHG.
For many, ANY involvement with AI in a creative sense with LE will not be tolerable, myself included. Current iterations of LLMs and AI in general only interpolate. That's it. Game Development requires constant extrapolation based on the designs of a developer, how those designs function, and community feedback. All that AI development will do is both ruin LE from a creative standpoint and complicate the narrative surrounding it.
We should be talking about future updates. That's all I personally WANT to be thinking about. It is beyond unfortunate we aren't. I've seen EHG as the plucky underdog hero for years now, fighting against "The Man" and horrible corporate practices. If AI will be allowed to effect this game in any way, we will definitely start seeing the Obi-Wan "You were the chosen one!" memes all over reddit.
A 6gb update doesn't necessarily mean that you'll need that much more storage space. A lot of it is replacing files so while the size does increase over time, it's not quite that fast. We know that if the game gets too big that it will be a problem and will work to make sure that it doesn't inflate to an unreasonable size. However, we don't have any really strong plans to reduce the size.

Ah, well that is not helpful at all as it is the future experiences that many of us are concerned over. The largest question is, will AI be used in creative development of Last Epoch?
I am a voice actor myself, so I am hyper aware of AI voice acting and boycott those products out of principle, for example. More to the point, however, if there will be AI art, storytelling, or game systems in the future for LE then that is major cause for concern, unfortunately.
While this channel is called ask-the-devs it's not really ask EHG. It's meant more for questions regarding existing or announced game mechanics/content. Which is why generally questions regarding EHG or the industry as a whole aren't answered here.

There is one in the ability stats mutator manager that is getting extremely long at this point but I don't think it's 5 digits yet.
Do all skills use the same stats mutator manager as well as their own for specifics or how does that work? Since you said in the past that a lot of things are case by case per skill/stat and not universal. Or does that function have a parameter for which skill it's supposed to apply the stats to and does its thing differently depending on the skill it'll be applying stats to
Interesting that you have a function (or at least I'd imagine this "thing" is one) inside something I'd imagine would be a function, is the stats mutator a class? Or is it a local function inside the stats mutator function. I know these answers have no practical application gameplay wise but it'd be cool to know nontheless :P

It's a class. Each player has a one. It's where many of the unique attributes go through.

Cosmetics can now be used in Offline and True Offline Modes. Players must first access the Appearance panel in either Offline or Online Mode in order to access it in True Offline mode.
Hi devs, I hear Mike talk a lot about the challenge of different definitions of "viability" in the game, and different expectations of what a build is supposed to be achieved (eg. 900 corruption builds being considered unviable to some), which then translates to different balancing expectations between devs and players, causing frustration. It feels to me like infinitely scaling content (ie. corruption) is a big contributor to this, and the only way similar games have found something at least close to a standardised "viability" measure is by capping general content difficulty (PoE map tiers, D3 GR150, etc). What are your thoughts on infinitely scaling corruption and what it brings to the game currently?
I think that infinitely linearly scaling corruption is a problem. This is something I've gone into detail on stream before so it won't be anything new but I'm happy to go into my thoughts on it here.
I think that there are 2 primary pieces working together to make this feel less awesome than it could.

The numbers are too big.
If you see someone playing a build at 2643 corruption and you're just playing at 300, it feels like an insurmountable gap in difficulty. How are you possibly supposed to get up that high. It also feels like such a massive gap in numbers that what you're doing feels trivial and pointless. Even just removing a couple orders of magnitude would help here. 26 vs 3 feels way less of a gap to cover even though it's exactly the same. -
Corruption difficulty scales linearly.
The difficulty difference between 100 and 200 compared to 2500 and 2600 is relatively the same but as a percentage of the current value, the increase is extremely different. Increasing the rate the corruption affects content difficulty at would condense player rankings and make the differences feel way closer together. It would also just reduce a runaway powerful build's potential for pushing higher and faster.
I could be very wrong about both of these things. I'm not entirely sure if having a hard cap on the corruption scaling is necessary or not. I think it's possible to make the system fun and feel good without it. I really like having that "one more level" vibe but it can get us into trouble.
I'd like to see more specific things happen at breakpoints. Like certain items can't drop 2LP until you hit a specific corruption. We already have some things like this in the boss fights but I'd like to see it branch out more. Clearing your first GR70 (I think 70) in D3 was a great benchmark to hit to unlock Primals.
Edit: Just to be clear, that's my personal opinion.
So: Doing on other charcter (1000+) CONFLUENCE OF OBLIVION I should got +2000 corr to max of my char with highest corr lvl. But this doesn
't work!! Did it 2 times and still have 1000. On druid I have 3006 corruption. So WTF?
Are the two characters both in the same realm (season/legacy), same mode (hardcore/softcore) and either both have the account found challenge or no challenge at all?
Basically if you put an item in the stash of one character, can the other character see and take out that item
Also make sure you don't have Purged Horizon in your Weaver tree, in addition to making sure the characters share stash.

Since I can manually set characters to be in the correct state on the test realm, I just checked and it worked there. This isn't a completely appropriate test and it doesn't necessarily account for the specific case that you're in.
So, it sounds like there are situations where it works and others where it doesn't. Regardless, if you have encountered a bug, please use the in game bug reporting tool to let us know about it in a way that we can investigate it. If you include the game data in the report with that tick box, it lets us see the specific situation in which it happened.

so with exponential difficulty increases for corruption, you'd reduce the delta between broken/viable builds (it'd be like 3 vs 6 instead of 3 vs 24 if difficulty doubled each time),
Also less of a difference in loot if that still increased linearly? but then you might see people intentionally stay on lower corr because why have enemies be a challenge if you could instead kill them in half the time and lose out on only 16% of your loot.
after admittedly a metric ton of seasons, GR150 in D3 felt like a real challenge for even the most busted classes per season solo, until you were completely decked out in primal ancients. There were a handful of outliers as always, but even then I can't recall a single point past, I wanna say season 15ish that something could just steamroll way before minmaxed gear. At the same time GR150 was realistic for everyone dedicated enough even at the worst performing builds (same case for right now and Uber aberroth, and hopefully for future Uber bosses).
I don't think a hard cap is realistically impossible, while also preserving the "just one more level" feeling. I know D3 has received a lot of criticism for being a corridor simulator in the endgame but the push itself always felt fresh. I think the current corruption system doesn't serve the class balance in the way that it should, especially with such drastic itemization being introduced every major patch. Could you see a world where a ceiling that's challenging and rewarding at all times is realistic?
There are intermediate functions between an exponential growth and a linear growth.
A fine tuned quadratic function like you finally did for ward retention is probably a good answer to this problem.
Still IMO you should prioritize the number balance between skills and classes so they don't get a x50 strength amplitude between skills for starting. Linear growth would be less a problem if it wasn't this problem.

For the vast majority of players? maybe.
For some players? yes.
It's again the massive variance in the combination of player expectations, experience, skill and time.

why some masteries or classes have 3 or 4 skills instead more like other classes?
for example rogue main passive skills : smoke (unlocking at lvl5), decoy (lvl10) and barrista (lvl15) but there is no lvl20 skill
or primalist's mastery : shaman's lvl35 skill doesn't exist
We haven't got to them yet. Those are the most likely candidates for new skills to be added in upcoming seasons.

Most people / builds will only put 20 points in the main skill tree since that's what's required to unlock being able to put points into the mastery trees. And you need to invest a lot of points into the mastery trees to reach the strong nodes to the far right as well as unlock the different skills for said mastery. So if they were to make the main class tree have as many nodes as the mastery trees it would kind of just be a waste since people would still likely only spend 20 or so points in it and then spend the other 90 or so points in the mastery trees
this gave me so much idea on suggestion, tysm and it like you said having 80-90 points on masteries meanwhile 30-40 on main passives little weird

depends on what type of portfolio you're talking about. Generally that term would indicate art team to me and I'm not involved with any of the art team hiring. One consistent thread that goes through all of the departments is that we are looking for people who are passionate about both their respective field and ARPGs in general so bragging about that one time you placed in a ladder ranking for a race in a random ARPG or you have some obscure achievement or favorite moment of an event when playing an ARPG, those are all great things to include. We like hiring gamers who are talented at making games too.

Seriously, why did the developers decide that a spear or hammer is not a weapon that can have a throwing attack speed?
there are even skills that say these are throwing weapons. but the affix is not egible for those?
Throwing attacks generally (stuff like javelin doesn't follow this rule) don't actually use your weapon at all. You basically "manifest" a weapon to throw, if they were to add any throwing stats to the weapon slot they'd just nerf the throwing stats you can get elsewhere like the ring slots.
Throwing is intentionally different affix wise from spells and attacks in how you itemize for it basically. And it's balanced around that fact.
well, hammer throw is kind of the same imo. then why dont give those the ability to adapt meele atk speed. (suggestion: like: added meele atk spd works for 50% of its value; at least smth like that) for spears with javelin and Mace with HT
or cast atk spd. If u manifest the weapon its like a spell. 🙁
Because then they'd need to nerf/remove the throwing attack speed sources we currently have. If you want more attack speed they can just buff the sources we currently have, moving it from one place to another won't really do anything, and having both at the same time is just a straight buff (which can be done without getting rid of what makes throwing attacks unique).
I think I've answered the question of why the devs have decided to generally not have throwing stats on weapons (some uniques do interact with thrown attacks). If you'd like to suggest a change please do so in the #suggestions forums, since nothing from this channel gets logged.
Curious if the increased rarity of items procured in high corruption zones impacts Nemesis mechanics with eggs. I've run 30 to 40 towers in the last week with world splitters dropped at 3800 corruption. I've received 2 LP2 splitters, and a decent amount of LP1 out of it. MG, not CoF. 3800c splitters have provided better results compared to those procured around 500. Global called me dumb, but I figure that's what increased rarity is for yah?
Corruption/rarity has no impact on egg results
you just get more eggs and nemesis spawns in general

K, thank you for responding. I had read somewhere that items had a rarity property (not lpl or reroll odds) and thought perhaps it explained my streak of luck.
The only way rarity impacts uniques is that it makes them drop raw (just from killing a random enemy) more often, and increases the odds of some boss uniques dropping. It has nothing to do with lp, ww or any mechanic that interacts with them
Corruption does affect items when they drop and their lp chance after 600 corr that boost doesnt increase much at all but its worth getting to 600 corr as a baseline, closer to 1k for better imprint procs and exalted multi t7 affix drops
Corruption != Rarity. Corruption does scale lp chance, rarity does not. Neither effect lp from nemesis egg

Doing something in the eleventh hour refers to the very last amount of possible time, EHG started developing Last Epoch while working normal day jobs, and so it became an in joke and company name referring to them working in the eleventh hour

No. The effect is the same as the harmony primordial. The stats are given as a special character property as a result of the gavel itself. The off hand stats don't actually change.
So even if it did pass the stat on, your minions don't have anything equipped in their off hands

Maybe, but I wouldn't bet on it. It's generally a lot easier to bundle bug fixes into the new season instead of releasing them in small patches. So it slowly becomes less and less worthwhile to do small bug fix patches as you approach a new season.

I think the description is quite inaccurate the way it is phrased at the moment.
A more explicit description could be:
You gain stats equal to [90-100]% of your offhand weapon's stats if it is an Exalted Weapon. This is kinda clunky and the only time it is materially different is if you are relating it to effects which care about the stats on your weapons. It also doesn't say that it's actually increasing the stats on the weapon just that those stats have increased effect because you have this specific main hand weapon equipped. In any case, if the effect is on your main or off-hand, it still wouldn't be passed down to your forged weapons because it's a special effect and those aren't passed down. That's the root of the problem I think.
In general, if you're wondering if something applies to a forged weapon or not on a unique item, the easy test is "could this effect appear on a magic item?".

But if we take the description of the Summon Forged Weapons skill: "Summons a Forged Weapon which lasts for 20 seconds and is affected by the stats and attack rate of your weapon." So "stats" in this context basically refers to the last thing you said about asking yourself if the effect could appear on a magic item? If so, I've just misinterpreted the term "stats".
Any special mods on items do not get transferred over.
The effect on the Gavel is a property of the Gavel itself. It is not actually affecting the stats on your offhand weapon. That special property of the Gavel grants you stats based on your exalted off hand. So the stats that would get passed to your forged weapons on your offhand are the same stats that get boosted by the Gavel but that boost does not get transferred to your forged weapons because it comes from a special property and special properties like that do not get transferred.
Take Palarus's Sacred Light for example, it has a property which says: +(32% to 46%) chance to cast Smite on Melee hit (up to 3 times per second) This does not get passed down to your forged weapons.
Basically, if it's a complex mod, it probably won't work. Things that do work are the things you typically find as affix shards.
It is important to note that minion stats get passed down as minion stats which means that they make any minions which your forged weapons summon better. Now, forged weapons don't have any way to summon a minion so those stats do not get a double dip. They do grant the stats to your forged weapons 1 time because they are minions and just get minion stats like any other minion does.

Yes. Short answer is that the current crafting system is already basically that, you have slots you put affix shards into. So another layer of sockets would essentially be the same as adding more affix slots to items

There was a discussion about making the boards permanent as players fast traveled away from them. I personally like the refresh of the boards. It makes players be choosy when to fast travel or not and when all the items disapear to. It makes the player do some intersting choices. And from I understand, it keeps the load times down. Im all for keeping load times down.

It is possible that we might add new sub types to existing base types but we will not add a new base type.
Claws would be a new base type. Base types requires new animations for all skills for all classes that can use it. It multiplies out to a few hundred animations and our animators are busy doing other things right now.
Hello just following up from yesterday if someone is at their computer to test about that abyssal shadows mtx for skeletal mages if it still works when you use the death knight node?
and a second question sorry if this is the wrong place, but is the final upgrade for circle of forture (the doubling rewards for prophecies) a retroactive upgrade? like would exsisting prophecies double up too?
It does affect all types of skeletal mages. I would have been really surprised if not but I just wanted to be sure.
Unfortunately the strength based increased frenzy effect of the primordial belt is. There are several reports on the forum (also in the bug collection thread) and I tested it myself once but only based on the tooltip. So before answering I wanted to be sure that is not just the tooltip, so I just went back in and tested actual hit damage on the dummy in many different scenarios:
Some interactions are harder to test than others but I can at least confirm that "more melee" on the belt and "added melee" on sword catcher don't scale by "increased frenzy effect per strength". (I have the same damage increase factor going from 35 to 75 strength with and without belt during frenzy).
I know this channel is not for bug reporting, so just want to let you know about the state of this primordial - following my initial question if we can still expect bug fixes during S3 for S3 content.
Of course I also reported it in game and am happy to provide more details from my testing.

Hello! Are there any intentions to improve prophecy system? It feels very tiresome and time intense to roll an Adorned Idol or a catalyst prophecy for example, while rings are super quick. Also a hotkey for the reroll button could help. The system is great but it could be a little more user friendly and consistent for all itempools.
Mike talked about this a couple streams ago. There's nothing announced but at least he (EHG haven't made any official statements, this was Mike's opinion iirc) agrees that the UI could use improvement both in how you roll the prophecies as well as the information shown.
Basically; they're aware it's something the community wants improved but there haven't been any announcements regarding planned changes so far. If you have any suggestions please post them in the #suggestions forum. If you just want to provide feedback please do so in the #feedback forum, the more people want something to change the more likely it is to happen.

If EHG don't want us to reach here every time, they can reduce the max level. It bring a new question, why the max level is 100?
No Kirra, I completely understand and agree with EHG's standpoint on this.
If they want max level to be an achievement, then they can't attach too much character power to it, because that would deprive the majority of the playerbase of this desired character power, those who don't have time to grind crazy amounts of hours.
If it gives a minimum power level increase, then it's not mandatory, so it can remain an achievement that isn't difficult in itself, but still takes a long time to get.
For example, in Diablo 2 it was the same: between about lvl 93-99 with the 6 skill points and 30 stat points that could be acquired, your character's power did not increase enough to make it "worth it" for everyone to achieve, but it could still remain a cool, desired milestone for those who have the time and dedication.
I think there's a distinction between "not wanting" and "not expecting". It's more that EHG doesn't expect most people to reach level 100, just like they don't expect most people to reach empowered, kill Uber aberroth and even aberroth for that matter, etc. just because something can't be expected to be achieved by the majority doesn't mean it should be made easier until it is achieved by most. It's a reward for those who work for it

I feel like this is just a language barrier issue.
It's based on... the targeted audiences? Le is between d4 and poe on the difficulty. So it can't be too hardcore. So levels at the end (91-100) can't give much power but they're still here to provide experience for min-max players.
I am making all of this up now, this isn't from some internal thing so the values are all estimated and approximated by me now and are probably wrong but I think are close enough to get the point across.
Let's say that there are 10 types of players. Player type 1 has a total of 1 hour total to play Last Epoch. Player type 10 has 8 hours a day, 5 days a week to play Last Epoch. Players 2-9 are a sliding scale between those 2.
Each type of player is expected to reach some rough point in the overall journey. Player 1 probably doesn't make it past Act 2. Player 10 has probably killer Uberroth in the first week of a season.
Player 5 probably makes it to empowered and might get to about level 90. Most players are not expected to reach level 100 because they do not play the game enough. And there is nothing wrong with that. You don't need to reach level 100 to complete all of the content. I'm sure there are lots of characters who have killed uberroth without reaching level 100.
We want each player to have goals they can reach and goals they could reach if they wanted to. Level 100 is a goal that we don't expect most players to reach but is one that any could reach. Because of this, we put very little power locked behind the last few levels.

Everything is getting really sad. Sometimes there are around 1,000 players online on Steam. What have you done with the game? People asked you to allow players to skip the storyline, but you added another act. Many people have asked and continue to ask you to remove the stupid boss shields that have ruined so many builds and forced players to use 5-6 different builds, but instead you've introduced a terrible beast system with item sales... People ask you to give a definitive answer about the season cycle, but instead you're fighting bugs that you're causing by adding a bunch of pointless content to a barely breathing Unity that's already tearing apart the duct tape holding it together. Are you going to do anything? Sorry for my bad English.

In general we get a lot of conflicting feedback which makes it impossible to actually do everything that people ask for as doing one thing could be the exact opposite of what another person is asking for. We collect feedback and use it like another person in our design meetings. It carries weight but is not an absolute thing.
There are sometimes things which people want that we agree on and we fully intend to do. Sometimes it just takes a little longer to get done than we would like. Sometimes we have a larger plan to address some requested feature and attempting a quick fix version now would be unsatisfying and make the proper larger fix take longer. We often have to look at the bigger picture to make future seasons flow better.
I will push back on the boss ward being stupid. It significantly increases the number of viable builds. The claim that it reduces the number of viable builds is based on a misunderstanding of the system and of what would happen if we removed it without replacing it with some other system. In general the feedback we have received about it has been positive, especially from players who were familiar with the previous system which it replaced. It is possible that we could replace it again with something even better and we are happy to explore that as an option. However, the issue which it is addressing would be far worse if it were simply removed.
I'm sorry you didn't like the rift beast system. I personally quite like it. We are taking the feedback about it and the other seasonal mechanics into account while we are designing and implementing the major mechanic for next season which is in early internal testing as of yesterday.

Considering there's a button in-game that lets you open the filter folder and tells you that you can add filters in said folder to make them available in-game I'd say that's a decently safe bet
But I'd still wait for an official answer just in case, I'm not an authority.

Looking into an Acolyte build and I found out that Marina's Lost Soul unique wand's massive flat Necrotic spell damage scaling also counts towards non-necrotic spells. Proven by this build https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdHATQ6NLak and my own testing. Marina's flat necrotic increases the FIRE dmg of Infernal Shade. Is this intentional? P.S, this extends to flat necrotic spell dmg affix on a dagger affecting the base fire dmg on Infernal Shade.

Note that this applies for all sources of added damage that doesn't specify what it applies to. Such as the sword example I gave, mourningfrost, the confluence of fate etc.
A skill having a damage type tag doesn't mean it can only deal that type of damage, it simply means that adaptive damage (damage that doesn't specify type, like the " +x melee damage" you find on melee weapons) will become the same as the tag, and that any effects and stats that specify they only apply to skills that have said tag apply.
In the shaman tree there's a node that gives all spells +10 flat cold, in a dev stream once upon a time it was said that it didn't apply to storm bolt due to no cold tag on the sub skill (this is years before the rework). I thought it worked that way with everything. I've been with the game since 0.6, and I dunno when this changed.
Been that way since at least 0.8, it's possible that back in the day the node was phrased differently and in fact didn't apply to non-cold skills

Tbh I wasn't sure since it seems to work on procced skills looking at wording alone, and I would assume warpath would actually proc it every third hit because of how it works, But I wasn't sure how channelled flurry works, if it's similar to warpath or not. I guess I'll ask, is channelled flurry similar to warpath in that it's a channelled parent skill that casts a different, technically not channelled skill, similar to warpath?

They would need to fiddle around with fractional currency cost / farm rate cause after switching a character over to COF and losing my 999999 favor, i gained 999999 back in a week, and i only play 1-2 hours a day now.
The Fissure of Wrath node of** Chthonic Fissure** gives 1 flat spell damage per 2% ignite chance.
With the Maehlin's Hubris gloves, converting bleed chance to ignite chance, it** doesn't seem to have any effect** on the Fissure of Wrath node. Meaning that it seems like I can scale as much bleed chance as I want without any increase in damage whatsoever.
Is this intended, or a bug? And I'm using flame whip instead of spirits btw.
I tested with like 60% bleed chance while wearing the gloves, and based on my findings that had no effect. And for the record, the bleed chance isn't converted to ignite chance on the character sheet as well, but afaik that's a known bug?

Well, sort of: the flame whip hit. But it's the same thing - the flame whips scale from the hit damage nodes from the tree, including Fissure of Wrath.

If you look at your sheet, hubris doesn't actually convert your global chance of bleed into global chance to ignite (at least it didn't last I checked). It seems like after they changed ailment conversions into stats they no longer apply on a character level but instead on a skill level. This might be wrong and hubris might be specifically bugged I'd need to test it but that's the gist I got. Either way I agree it feels like an oversight or a bug.
These kind of special effects generally don't work with conversions unless they specifically say they do, same as ailment chance per second effects. I tested Maehlin's + Malatros when warlock was released, so I know for sure that combo has never worked. I am pretty sure it's not a bug, but that doesn't necessarily mean it was intended.
Yeah ailment conversions became stats a long time ago now. But before the change I'm fairly sure they did apply to nodes and things that look at global chance.

Sry to bother but i have a question regarding the Evolution's end amulet. i noticed that its something that is not tradeable in market to anyone. is there a specific reasoning behind that decision or was it something else that made it not be there? because from what my understanding is that all uniques where suppsoed to be tradeable on market so jsut checking if its a bug or was this intentional?
I had no idea that it was completely untradable. It does carry a bunch of extra data in the form of the abilities that it has. I don't think this is the reason but it's the only thing I can think of. Maybe it has different encoding that is incompatible with the bazaar.

Maybe this is a bug or I'm just dumb. I'm spec'ing Lunge and currently have 37% increased Physical damage and 275% increased Void damage. Lunge's DPS estimate remained the same after converting it to Void via the Voidbringer node. Eyeballing damage to mobs does not appear to be doing noticeably more damage.
seeing as how void conversion takes priority over fire, I don't see an obvious "gotcha". Sounds like a bug to me.

Did some research into Rune of Ascendance but can't find a definitive answer. The item I'm after is the Face of the Mountain shield. Can it be used to get it even if (according to lastepochtools) it can only be acquired in a dungeon (Lightless Arbor)? Even if the chance is low, I'm willing to blow through my handful of RoA.
No. Rune of ascendance can only give you items that are world drops, as in that can drop from a random monster in a sufficiently high area level
Boss drops cannot be obtained by Rune of Ascendance

Funny, how, no matter how many hours you've played LE, you learn something new. Until now I didn't realize that the Divine Bolt passive from the Paladin is triggered by the Multistrike armaments. The passive specifies "Melee Attacks" so of course it is. It'll be interesting to see if the bolts are still triggered when Hallowed Arsenal is taken.

Blind is an ailment which prevents your hits from critting (https://www.lastepochtools.com/ailments/blind).

One of the reasons I asked is because I have farmed a ton of monoliths and have never seen my damage reduce from not critting. I have 100% crit chance from my gear and passives. So I dont know if I've ever been blinded?
It's possible. If you click through on each enemy in Tunk's bestiary, you can see all their skills. There's an enemy which throws acid flasks.... that skill can blind, but yeah 🤷
There also is or used to be a monolith mod which lets enemies blind.
I hope I can find one. Because I would notice with 500% crit multi i would lose tons of damage being blinded.

I'm not sure if bosses have stun avoidance, but the game guide says that stun calculations for bosses count them as if they had 50% more health:

He's not immune, but he is really tough to stun. A few specific builds are able to stun him, even fairly reliably.
Similar goes for freeze since freeze chance is based on max health, although I don't know of any builds that really freeze uber.
Frostbite applies like normal. Some ailments, like chill, slow, and withering have significantly less effect against bosses (50-60% less).

random question, when I killed uber abby on a blade dancer on HC I got a message saying "dugo (Bladedancer) is the first to defeat Uber Aberroth" -- was that for season 3 or ever? I had presumed it was just season 3, but then I realized I also had never seen that message in season 3 at all

I'm not sure if we had to select only one. We just have a deal to bring LE to Playstation and we don't have one to bring LE to Xbox. I don't know if there is any sort of exclusivity agreement or not. I would be very surprised if there was. There is no news or information on any sort of potential for LE on Xbox.

No, once an item has a legendary mod, it is permanent.

Bad outcomes can be used to reroll uniques via an echo, Gauntlet of Strife, letting you sacrifice bad items to basically forcing a fresh drop of such item by completely rerolling all stats.
If you want good stats, you need to craft them by hand via temporal sanctum.
KEEP bad items for the reroll purpose and just farm yourself a new null portent. Nemesis eggs are random, thats how it goes...
Your 1-stat legendary(crafted) counts as 1LP null portent. With that chest you could reroll any 1LP version of other null portents, crafted or uncrafted.
There is basically no need for your wish, as it would be tooooo strong for certain super rare items....
Though, nothing will stop you from leaving a suggestion in the correct channel!

You are treating it, like it would be a huge deal, like something, with a "massive impact" or "bad taste" or so. If it looks good in the end and fits the universe LE plays in, nobody will care if it is made 100% by ai or 95% by ai with just some polishing by hand.

Can I say with 100% confidence that we won't ever do any AI stuff? No. That's kinda the wonderful thing about technology though, it changes, grows and adapts. I have no idea what the game dev landscape is going to look like in 10 years.
Personally I often feel like an old man shaking my fist at the clouds when it comes to AI stuff. I'm still desperately clinging to my old and broken phone so I don't have to get one riddled with AI stuff.
I have been told many times that I'm not to use generative AI for anything. However, some tools are kinda unavoidable to use AI in some way. Just googling something ends up running up against AI results like crazy. Is it bad to learn how to change the settings in visual studio to show the big scroll bar shadow if it's from an AI result? Probably not, but that begs the question of; where is the line?
Yeah i mean im just concerned about generative AI for ART in the game, because genAI uses stolen art from artists so that would definitely be morally wrong to use that. And i'm desperately hopeful that it wont be used, and that artists still remain the only source of art in Last Epoch.
(And no, using a prompt to generate slop isnt being an artist. Just like asking a chef to prepare your fav meal doesnt make you a chef yourself, for the people not educated about GenAI)

I'm going to strongly disagree with the idea that the concern is dubious. I do find the idea of a fluid market in the game being classified as content to be dubious though.
(you could very much still sit in the Bazaar and earn money even with the tax in place if resale was a thing, and not a small amount either, favour cost does not negate this. It just slows it down)
Why is this a problem? Let's take PoE as an example: as a player, I can earn gold by killing mobs and hope for a lucky drop, or I can earn a stable income at the auction house or crafting items. And I think the main reason for the large income is the lack of a price check.
Let's look at POE again: people strive to min-max their gear, currency farming methods depend on the meta, and crafting items has always been an integral part of gameplay. People calculate the average amount of currency needed to achieve the desired result and calculate whether it's profitable—they're interested in this. This is a separate segment of people who are interested in this specific piece of content. Right now, gold ROTA's are very popular. With the latest patch, they changed the gold earning system and it is mainly spent on exchange. I am categorically against not considering the auction as part of the content.
yea, we certainly have a different approach to trade than poe does.
I for one find PoE flipper bots an annoyance and LE's merchant guild a really well designed system. There are games that do trading as core gameplay and do it well (albion, eve online).
MG is built to make trade a part of your gameplay but not all of your gameplay, and I enjoy that. PoE trade-optimized gameplay is really soulless, and it would need to be a third guild to not break current MG. I don't think there's enough demand for that

- How is adaptive damage applied to base Ghostflame? Is it evenly split across the two damage types?
- Is the team happy with Ghostflame as it currently exists? I've not seen it used on a Warlock for anything other than boosting defenses, and even then not really since 1.0 patch.
- Would the team give consideration to updating overloads to proc once the threshold number of ailments has been reached?

- Yes, evenly split (matching the base damage split) unless converted to phys, then it's just phys.
- I can't answer this, but with a little rewording it could be good #feedback . Mike's answer might go something to the effect of "Happy? Yes. Satisfied? Maybe not."

My guess: NOT a bug (maybe tolerated for now, because FUN)
They have been very active with fixing and hotfixing stuff throughout the season. If it isn't tackled yet, enjoy while it lasts. With that much discussion about this echo and the data they collect, they surely are aware of its impact in the game.
They might tone down the rate in future updates though, very likely. See it as a "season bonus".
Nothing will stop you from reporting it as a bug though, but as i said.... they should be aware of it^^

Currently only a playstation port has been announced. They haven't made any statements on an xbox release as of yet.
I recall an official statement from the Last Epoch team that, once you purchase the game, you get everything for free except costumes, and no actual content-based stuff would be paid.
The Orobyss expansion itself is free, but the Paradox classes are not, which seems to violate this earlier rule.
Now, I personally don't mind paid expansions or additional content - if the classes are cool and worth it, I'll buy them and feel good about getting to support you all in the process. Nonetheless, is this indeed going back on a previous word, or did I misunderstand the initial statement?
I am not mad or upset in any case, but I do think that, in the case that it is going against something said initially, it's worth admitting as such. However, I could very well have misunderstood or simply be wrong and you never made any promise of the sort!

While I do think there were some statements made several years ago that they had no plans on releasing paid content whatsoever, plans can change. Especially if the alternative is continuing being in the red and maybe even having to shut down. They've stated several times that while they weren't planning on doing paid content at the time, they weren't totally against it either in the past as well. The thing that they have said they'll never do (iirc) is pay to win. Which while you could maybe argue a new class being pay to win if it's strong I'd personally see that as a bit of a stretch.

The article says that it's going to be after season 5 which it says we will start to reveal info about later into 2026 so spring 2026 doesn't exactly sound like it fits that timeline to me.
This is a really good idea and I think it should be made possible to do so.
With how balance has been in this game it is not a stretch at all to think a new class could be pay-2-win very easily. Might not even be intentional! But unless they're going to balance flawlessly and quickly this is opening them up to all kinds of pay-2-win accusations. Especially as, they're incentivised to overtune to the class so more will buy it.

The overall systems and so on look great; and I would look forward to play it; however my GF and I just kinda gave up on the game after a few hours because of how easy it was as we were basically instagibbing everything

Didn't you think about selling visual character customization and battle pass with MTX instead of this decision with paid classes? I understand that you need to sell something because you either earn money or shut down, but better to sell something that would not undermine trust in your everlasting words regarding 100% free content, isn't it?
I'm not taking the work of your marketing and planning teams, but I clearly see that you'll lose at least some share of playerbase selling playable content making the situation net loss for all, while selling the ability to turn your paladin into a girl would pour you over with money pleasing all parties. Moreover, no paid content would ever add you points in competition with GGG for sure.
The campaign itself is a kinda weird paradox. Making it easy enough on onboard new players but at the same time providing something interesting to play. The different skills also have different power curves and playing in a group can often cause high synergy builds to really spike in power early. There are some boots in a hidden cave at the start which you can use to make it harder. We are also working on getting the dungeon skips to be more accessible so you can select a harder path. The game does get a lot harder in end game if that is any consolation.
I'm sure that and dozens of other options were considered yea.

Sorry, I have no idea. It's way too far out to even have a good idea of what the price will be initially I don't think. That does sound like a reasonable style of approach to me though.
What if the classes were paid for 1-2 leagues and then free afterwards? People who want to try 'em while they're hot will pay, and those who can't or don't want to can still play with them after a bit. It'd also mean "No paid content, ever!" is still true, albeit slightly loose.
It doesn't sound like a bad idea to me. I really can't say if it's something that could happen though. We would probably need to see what happens with the first one.

the bazaar had a similar design and had the same backlash, the main problem with having classes gated behind paywall, even for limited time, is that the design will favor them being OP at the start so they can actually sell it and make money, if they then make it free you can be sure that it will be nerfed then so the next class that is paid is better. My hope is that probably the next two seasons will have low player numbers due to the backlash and that will cause them to reconsider

Flame Reave's Rhythm of Fire node (I've never used it before) - With 0 stacks of Rhythm of Fire the mouse-over DPS is 4,192. With 4, 8, or 12 stacks it's 1,823. If I remove the point in RoF, it's 1,527. Is this the same bug from 2023?!?
if you have a bug, please report it ingame using the f8 button. not in the channel named "no bugs"
the dps calculation doesn't use a simulation of the ability being used so it can react differently to nodes being selected than the actual functionality. It is possible that the dps calculation just wasn't updated correctly. The node itself doesn't automatically work with dps calculations and would need an estimate function to run. I'm not sure why the stacks would behave that way.
@flint bloom, It was already reported and acknowledged as a bug in 2023. I'll report it again. I just wanted to confirm it's the same one, more or less. @placid plinth, when I use Flame Reave with 12 stacks the embiggened attack does not appear to be happening, so I don't think it's just a DPS calculation oversight. Again, I will report it though I won't be optimistic given how long the bug's existed. Thanks.

IMO, it would have been better to emphasize more about the "highly requested updates" Season 4 has to offer, and then put the expansion as an afterthought.
Currently, it sounds like the team is focusing on future plans instead of highlighting concrete things that made LE better now than it was 1/2/3 years ago.
Given the requests to know the details of if the expansion itself was going to be paid or not, I think getting that detail out there was extremely important. I think the gears will probably start to shift towards Season 4 content after the dust settles here.
It's hard to know where the pressure about the expansion details is coming from, and it's hard to distinguish between genuine questions from people who might engage in future investment and "concern troll" questions from naysayers who were never going to play the game in the first place.
It's similar to the Krafton acquisition - I'd love to hear more from people who know more behind the scenes, but I'm sure that acquisition was flooded with troll posts and it's hard to siphon between genuine information and "shitposting."
I think when the effort level rises, the likelihood that a question is genuine goes up too. For example, people tuning in live to a dev stream to ask a question, probably more likely genuine than a facebook comment.
As for the acquisition information, my advice is to just stick to official comments as almost all of the assumptions I've seen posted about it have been wrong.
Being on this side of the rope has been so incredibly eye opening with regards to gaming news and rumors. I don't really believe anything that gets posted about companies any more.

so far I am quite happy with the minion changes for necromancer, can we expect further changes and/or buffs to other classes/skills to bring them inline with over all performance? I only ask cuz, while I find spirit plague to be interesting, it feels quite lacking compared to other options for acolyte builds.

Paid MTX passes are better idea. People like MTX in ARPGs if they are good, they hate paywalling actuall content for no reason other than 'give us money'.

Just saying that ppl that love ARPG usually play a few, i do play PoE 1 + 2 and LE. So does basically everyone i know who plays ARPGs. None of us have anything against buying MTX in each of the games, including mtx battlepass for poe1 each season. But paywalling part of the gameplay is a no-no. I understand games that do Games Workshop IPs that do that since GW is a greedy beast but they have something you dont. Their IPs are globally known, well respected and are 50+ years on the market 😛
I would strongly suggest finding monetization elsewhere, and to keep player retention high how about evolving MTX? You know, you buy skin for armor and if you achive goals during the season it launched it gets additional "flare" 😉

No one has to pay for this class. It is completely optional. Eventually it will become free for everyone after the players who paid to help out and gave feedback get the bugs sorted out. MTX for cosmetics seems ridiculous to me. I just want my character to look like they are wearing the gear they are wearing. Minor transmogs should be earned.
I think the one thing we can all agree on is that there is no one size fits all, perfect solution.

Youre absolutely right, no one has to pay for this/these classes until they become better than the current ones, what happens if they host an uber boss kill race and the paid class is as broken as falconer was? Do the players get the short end of the stick because the p(L)ayers get a better class? well then what happens if they nerf the paid class and its suddenly not as good? Do the p(L)ayers get upset because they spent their hard earn good boy bucks on a class thats worse than the free one? There are too many doors that open to disaster when paid classes become a thing, not to mention its a B2P game WITH a cash shop, WITH an unfinished campaign
Also the "paid for early access to poe2" is such a pathetic argument, its early access you pay for. the game is still 100% free to play when it launches in 1.0

Whenever asked about new class the answer has always been that masteries would come before a new class, is it safe to assume we will see new masteries before the expansion or is this just because masteries couldn't be monetized?

Neither, this is what we think will be the coolest and most fun. I've also been very subtly hinting at this for a while but because it's so different, it makes sense that it wasn't picked up on. Also it's what fit in the production schedule the best without making things too lopsided.

By the wording of the release the "Paradox Class" is a category of new type of class itself, correct? i.e. there will be two categories of class - the normal kind and the Paradox kind?

My understanding is that the reason it's only specifically stated to be free for existing owners and not just straight up "free" is because the updated purchase for new/PS5 players will have updated pricing.

free expansion for existing players means for new players, the expansion will cost money, on top of the price of the base game. so this leads to the idea that the base game will remain the same, and people can buy the expansion if they want to. i don't think that equals "price increase", you can buy DLC separately from games. if you buy the base game and the DLC at once, you'll be spending more money, but no prices have been increased

Technically it would achieve that eitherway if that's the point, the playerbase would definitely not be split because everyone would have your expansion. It just means that new players will pay a bigger price for the base game (that now has the expansion baked in).

Please explain to me, why when I bought this game in Alpha and was told "No paid expansions will ever happen. They are against our belief" that this is now happening?
I don't really have much to add on to what was already posted but when the options are adapt or die, we are very partial to adapt. But just to be clear, the expansion is free.

Does it suck that we have to make this change? Yes, absolutely. But the alternative is far worse in my opinion.
Our goal has always been and continues to be to make the best game we can. This is the path that we believe best advances that goal.
Keeping the game as pure as possible is still something we work towards every day. On a daily basis, it's always about the gameplay and fun.

Mike and the other devs came on here, on discord, and told us personally they had a core set of principals. Those principals are to NEVER charge more for the game than was we paid. They would NEVER go p2w, never have paid expansions, never have a pay wall.
If they are now changing that, then who's to say they won't change the entire thing within a year? It becomes a total p2w game?
If I had some guarantee that this game will have expansions and never anything else, I would 100% buy it. I have gotten so much more entertainment out of this game than 99.9% of people on here.

I have been playing for very long, also in beta. I bought the game thinking it would never get any paid extra content. But in all honesty, i think we must understand the way things go now. You can't buy a game and expect infinite support and new content for it anymore when looking at the costs now. If i have to choose between this or the end of LE, i'll pick this any day.

Speculation around December 11th game awards announcement are floating around. Can you provide any additional information on if EHG and Last Epoch will be at this event or are they just rumor?
So did you decide to split the DLC into two parts? It seems the story/questing portion will be free, while the more exciting features like the Paradox classes are part of the paid content. That feels a bit different from the original 'cosmetics only' promise.
I just hope the main game/campaign will be fully completed before the DLC and PS5 release.
So far, there hasn’t really been any actual season content, only additions to the main game. Will Season 4 complete the campaign, and will Season 5 be the first season with actual season focused content? 🫤
We have had season content every season. It just goes "core" as is after the season instead of either being removed or changed. They've said in the past that once there's enough content in the game that it would start being bloated that they might start having it so the season mechanic either only stays for that season or is changed somehow afterwards.
We also don't know what content the expansion will have. If it will be story, endgame or maybe both.

As much as its okay to be mad about the current state of the game and the direction EHG is going in, I don't think there is some grand conspiracy behind having no stream during a holiday period.

There are no big reveals as stream formats, there is no good communication about bugs, fixes and changes ... You know why people are mad? Why did it "have to happen"? Wasn't that what partnering with TenCent, first, and now Krafton was supposed to avoid? Now, the game suddenly requires paywalls, just to stay afloat? It sounds to me like the announcements around TenCent and Krafton were misleading, in that they weren't to allow to you stay the course, as much as it now appears they are the ones dictating the direction everything will be heading from now on.

Your question might've been caught in the crossfire when some messages got deleted earlier. But like Nub said you won't get un-announced information in this channel. They do usually slowly release teasers during the Friday dev streams but outside of those the only place where things are revealed usually is in blog/news posts which are always posted in the #news channel. The teasers from the Friday streams are also usually recapped on the usually monthly #eterra-monthly posts, so if you missed any you can usually see them there.
Minion cosmetics are a thing, so anything that's possible (and doesn't break trademark or something) could happen if enough people want it to. If you'd like to see capybara bear in the game please post it in the #suggestions channel.

We have no information regarding the paradox classes. You won't get un-announced information in this channel. There's still quite a long time until it and the expansion are set to release so I wouldn't expect many details until we're closer to their release date. For the Meditation node in the marksman passive tree, does the added dodge rating only apply while I have concentration? Doesnt explicity say it doesnt, but wanted to make sure. 40 flat dodge rating per point seems super juicy to leave it alone with no catch.

I think the big question underlying so much stuff is that EHGs communication style has changed SO much over the past year. There seem to be mismatched expectations from some strong community members on what to expect communication wise. As far as I remember, EHG has or had a strong stance against Autobomber-type builds. What other build archetypes does EHG not support for LE? I believe they were AFK related.

it was less the against the autobomber builds...and more so against having to use numlock to make a build feel good to play. they felt like they could make some changes on their end so that didnt have to happen.
they put in the reflect chest which is quite literally just walk around and things die. they aren't against that type of play at all.

I realized it when I played the Abomination build but now I do play the bear Beastmaster build: I havbe at the moment 2 Companions while Levbeling and can barely hit the bear with Et- Blessing. It is really hard to hit between a bunch of monster and a raptor running arround. Will there be any option to select or buff your companions by selectig or hovering over their picture in the upper left corner for example? With abomination I only buff it once when I summoed it but here I need to do it every 4th seconds which is really annoying.

Iirc they once explained why it's actually really hard to do. Where the portrait kinda doesn't really have anything to do with the minion in a weird way so your eterras blessing can't actually get the information for what to target from the icon or something. I might just be misremembering though. I'll see if I can find it but I suspect it was in a stream.
There's also the issue of having multiple of the same minion, for some things you might want lowest health to take prio but for buffs you might want highest health etc.

As a general rule, every time something converts to cold it has to get freeze rate. I'm not at my computer to check at the moment but I suspect that it actually does but doesn't say that it does.
Every time we do the conversation in code, it is standard practice to also add freeze rate at a standard percentage of the damage.

It basically just locks the fps. Lots of people don't want to entertain the idea of doing that so they won't even try it. Streamer mode sounds way cooler so I will suggest that instead so it at least gets a chance.

No it caps it at 60 fps specifically, even if your monitors refresh rate is higher (vsync isn't the same as an fps cap, although it also caps fps)

I'm not sure it's strictly better. But because the game is typically cpu bound, fixing the frames to 60 can do a fair bit of heavy lifting for some weird issues and it's an easy test to try.

wait, so are you guys saying that last epoch performs better at 60 fps compared to 70?
No. We're saying your cpu performs more consistently if it's on average not on 100% utilization
So it has wiggle room for bumps in performance
If you're at 70 fps but 100% utilization, if the game suddenly needs a little more performance you'll likely drop down to something like 40 fps for a split second, while if you're at 60 fps 90% utilization you have that 10% to make up for bumps so if the game needs an extra let's say 5% you'll still keep a rock solid 60 fps, fluctuating fps is bad even if your average is higher
this goes for almost every game there is, unless your pc is an actual monster that runs games at 300 fps without anything capping out you're almost always better off capping your fps to a bit below what it would run at uncapped
