I'm just not a fan of turn based RPG
I bought the game because I was trying to convince myself to fall in love with TB RPG
try rogue empire ?
Let just say when my team died I easily Rage Quit
Turn Based need a lot of patience but I'm learning it.
I already save my current progress.
@honest forum You should try Curse of the dead gods
got it .but i am not that fast in such re-action game .. will try later again . spent a phew hours with it
I like the game, I'm a sucker when it comes to Hades isometric action
hmm TQ got a new expansion with an 11 th mastery ,,
Hades is the only rouge like i ever really enjoyed. Reached the true Ending and 15-30 heat in all weapons
Might give Hades a try again but like hell I'm playing in non-god mode
oh i play in god mode . i need it to survive . last 5-6 times i only ran into trouble in the end to get the bag for the nice mutt .. daddy was the problem, often . but with the right Rng luck i can beat him
still have to "finish " the story
I always play in god mode, although I could probably turn it off temporarily when I'm on a particularly solid build.
Try Stoneshard. Turn-based Diablo.
With survival mechanics.
hmm that dwarf looks likes it holds a BFG
goddamn EA
Why diablo?
Probably mean Isometric view?
any 1 playing MTG: arena ? how "free"is it ? i mean the game itself is free ,, how are the expansions/ extra cards !
if you're good at drafting it's a great f2p game
It fires laser wave.
Pew pew
I mean, it's a game based around grinding and exp and character builds, but it substitutes the usual carpal tunnel aRPG combat for a much more glacially-paced turn-based dungeon crawling approach. Warning, though--it is a bit more granular. You have to apply splints to wounds, eat food, drink water, and generally micromanage a lot more, though it definitely is more a "dungeon" game than an "overworld" RPG.
a laser does not do pew pew ..
So, consider it like the bastard child of ToME and Diablo 2, if that does it justice.
LOL
eat food .drink water ,, and what happens if yer out if that ?? die ?? then its a survival game
I will warn that it can get frustrating to lose a lot of progress if you play impulsively. It is not like most aRPGs in that you run into a room swinging, you have to approach every combat very meticulously, and show some restraint.
Elder Scrolls is in first person. It must be a shooter! 🙄
Come to think of it, some of the early Elder Scrolls did require food and water and survival elements, as did Ultima Underworld. That is something gutted from most modern RPGs, though almost every first-gen RPG, from text-based MUDs to Realms of Arkania, included them.
It makes exploration MUCH more intense when you have to prepare ahead, or you end up dying fifty floors down in a dungeon because you didn't manage risk-reward, or you overextended and got greedy.
I guess you could argue Fable also included them.
aswell EQ 1
survival MMo ..
and 1 st person using magic . guns . well semi shooter .. with quest adventure options .. betterthen shooter ,
Killsquad is stressful but great
Pew pew pew pew ksssssssss clang.
It's really good. I'm not a fan of mission-based games, as they don't form a cohesive world, but the gameplay mechanics synergize solidly, and the skills and auxillary effects lend themselves well to builds. Only complaint I've had is multiplayer lag, and the initial problems I had with the game freezing unless you ran as admin.
Let just say I clicked the game because of how pissed off I am on Contra Rogue Corps
Fly faster
Ask dev if they could make a game like killsquad 😂😂😂😂
I don't know if I'm should go full Lax (relax) on Batthe Chasers
Hey guys have you ever tryied TORN? here's a referral https://www.torn.com/2672219
i think it's the best browser game ever
frat boy culture, for starters 😛
don't blame sylvanus on frat boy culture
you haven't jumped ship yet ?
most of the people I know have moved on over to FFXIV
How long until blizzard goes bankrupt?
They cant get anything done so eventually thier investors will notice this.

i jumped ship years ago and i've just been on my lifeboat watching the sheer denial from blizzard drones as the boat slowly sinks
I don't know man, the last two things I bought from them are Spyro and Legacy Of The Void, one cause it frees up space since I no longer need the older discs and the other cause I had the other two parts of Starcraft in collector's editions
and I wanted to get that for about 10 years now
I haven't bought anything new they made since Spyro
if the leader is an asshole in a company, assholes thrive in said company, that's what happened
Ive tried ff14 a total of 5 times over 20 hours now and cant get into it for the life of me. Ive tried tons of mmos and have enjoyed almost all of them except ff14
Now i just play WoW private servers
The only FF game I'll ever jump back to is FF6
Everyone complains about RPGs having three mission types. WoW had one mission type: Fed Ex. 🤷♂️
They lost all creativity. And went PC.
WoW got successful because the majority of the early subscribers were completely new to MMOs and didn't even know there were already much better MMOs out. And because people run to popularity, eventually all those other MMOs disappeared.
Wildstar s a d g e
rift pepehands
Brave New World and T-Edition are both extremely fun FF6 mods
I don't know who asked me what the fuck has happened to Blizzard
But the entirety of the situation can now be summed up in a single image
based, i will now support blizzard
Who, for all that's good & holy would be taking expressed breast milk? It has a somewhat disturbing taste (I have 3 kids, don't ask, you don't want to know).
it's funny that next to Last Epoch suggestion are WH Chaosbane. 😂
same genre so seems alright
I hate Chaosbane over one thing: forced Fullscreen.
I can bite mediocre game, but at least let me chat with my multi monitor please
Tarkov wipe today
Anvil is kind of fun so far...
Question: Anyone finished Chaosbane?
yes
Holy hell, looks like Last Epoch have a new contender: Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance
and i thought GD RoT was good ..GD DOM is even more char buildeble for me , so many class combinations i need more char creation options
GD? Grim Dawn?
I'm stuck like bad, like one hit kill by the boss.
probly means you need better gear , or more mobility to hit and run ?
with this new mod , i will be 1 st buzy to see what 2 classes i wanna play to push a bit to gather good stuff .
old, expensive contender 😉
with the GD d2 d3 TQ and 3 more i got my hands full
GD killed my hype for APRG
and added BG DA to wish list . another hopefull good game
if yer liked the d2 world .. try GD LoT ..
its d2 with the GD mechanic of 2 classes using GD and d2 classes
i know that , i mean . gd LOT using the world design of d2 and lore . and the game play mechanic of GD
Yeah Agreed.
and i just LOVE RNG drops and class combi options . with GD DOM i am gona be stuck a b it long ..
Ugh, I don't want to go in GD right now
the game mechanic or the lore/world ?
The game, I don't want to farm for gear in Act I and II
Has anyone got a few pointers for me on the old Diablo & Hellfire that GOG sels ?
I cannot get my buttons to populate and would totally not mind giving that one another shot on the olden Battle Net - preferably without having to build me a rig on a Pentium 166 MMX and some 16MG ATI graphics card with a 15" crt monitor 🙂
If you are having combatibilty issues maybe you can try to install winxp on a virtual machine
?
Could've thought of that one myself @junior oyster - will give it a shot and report back.
After all, I could fly "Red Baron" on a mildly over-tweaked Amiga1200 more smooth than a friend on his SOTA 386 "IBM Compatible"
I might need a Win7 image that includes the WinXP VM onboard though)
Really? Pretty sure Oracle supports Win10
But idk haven't used a vm in a long time
I need an MSDN subscription for the OS installation OR have to find back my Win95(c) or the Win98 / WinXP licensed install media that I lost some 20 years ago when I moved from Germany to NL to UK to Ireland 😄
I'll tr something . . "creative"
For the oracleVM?
I was thinking Hyper-V
I used OracleVM cuz it was free
Hyper-V is pretty much free as well, comes with recent Windows OS
Still annoys the life out of me that I have a monster of a rig and my mobile phone has four to eight times the capacities of my "game-rig"
The "random" key doesn't work since a long time.
It was Microsoft's response to "Genuine Win validation" when they whipped out a default key for China because they couldn't get the hacking crowd there under control.
Oh yea I forgot about that
Probably safe to assume that we're old and we've been there when it happened.
Would it work on Win7?
I have a win7 partition if I ever feel like playing red alert 2
Cuz on win10 it freezes
It should on Win7, Win7 has the "virtual XP" VM built in
Ah then win7 it is
I need to re-arrange a few things on my experimental workstation here
Win XP Mode is basically giving you a VM under the hoood, runs stuff in the VM and on your Win7 desktop "like native"
BEST idea those guys ever had regarding Downward Compatible - and then they invented Win8 and scrapped it
Came kinda back in Win10 with Hyper-V onboard, but now you need a license for the legacy OS
Does gog diablo have hellfire?
As far as I'm aware it wasn't made by the official Bliz North team or something?
yes gog diablo has both
https://www.gog.com/game/diablo and yes it hellfire was from another dev but is still added
personally i'd recommend either belzeebub mod or https://github.com/diasurgical/devilutionX
BG:DA is a baby compared to LE lol it's just a GBA port
I mean, the graphics alone...
Hah. Stiol they're pioneer. They did like take from d2 right?
oh I dont know anything about that
but to be fair I did have so much fun playing BG:DA back in the day
killing rats over and over in the first part lol
The new release will probably shaken the scene though.
ps2 port, not gba
I mean it'd be like TQ but hey. it was/is fun
doing GD DOM mode in max heroes/ heavy mob density , its a compleetly differant game .. cant walk a screen without getting a pack of heroes on me ..
kinda makes the game more fast paced and POE like? haha
fast paced ? not realy more like slower , when you make the heroes spawn in groups its takes a bit to get passed them as they level with you . and beating mobs what have 5k to 18k when you stil are around lvl 10 , makes it a "challenge"
I'm getting my ass from GD. I don't want the rage would hinder my process playing this game
for me its more . what class combination make me get the nice feel.. i just need to learn not to boost the heroes amount to much . basic mobs multieplied i dont mind . to many heroes packs is . a terror .. i was lvl 20 before i even got into the cave to slay the animator . but it was hell . now i go a bit less hero challenged
are all the souls games + their dlcs good?
would you recommend a new player to start with souls remastered and then the other 2?
Tomb Raider is free on Epic and I still don't want to download it
Wow I went to install something and it needed .07GB more than I had space, time to uninstall
I enjoyed all of them, lorewise order doesnt matter, for darksouls 2 make sure you play scholar of the first sin version, for dark souls 1, remastered version offers more quality of life, but less mod support afaik (the good kind of mods, such as bug fix patches n stuff, nothing crucial tho)
Gameplaywise i recommend playing demon souls remastered and dark souls 3 after ds 1 and 2, bc their combat is a lot snappier and faster and imo it felt really weird switching "down"
All of the dlcs were super fun but challenging experiences
Play Dark Souls 1, and you've played them all. But at least play #1. Basically, the penultimate idea of what a dungeon crawl would have evolved to become in the 1990s, if anyone had perfected the movement from first-person grid-based blobber to first-person 3D. Though they chose 3rd person, which weirdly, worked almost better. Plus, the added cherry on top of a bunch of narrative symbolism. The level design is top-tier, secondary only to Thief 1 & 2, LGS.
If you like exploration-based games, with traps, secrets, puzzles, and combat, you've found your game. Telling a story without telling. Instead of dumping you in a dungeon and giving you an exposition dump about saving some king, you are dumped in a dungeon, and duh, you know not to spend 100 hours in said dungeon gazing at navel. Signposting. No hamfisted story, very little dialogue or even "tell, don't show" kinda logic, which the reverse is always better in interactive mediums. 🤷♂️ You are not there to watch, you are there to play the game, basically. Or create a movie.

This video can explain better than I could why I think that Demon's Souls is a game like no other, and I definitely recommend playing it.
Some thoughts on the merits of Demon's Souls.

Demon’s Souls was considered a failure internally.
Thanks all for the info 👍 I’m gonna try them all out in sequence
Probably never, because Sony has the rights for both Demon's Souls and Bloodborne and they're using these IPs to sell their systems, while FromSoft owns Dark Souls...
Sad
They also own other IPs that will be on pc like God of war tho
No, Santa Monica has the rights for God of War - they just made an exclusivity contract with Sony that "limits" the game to PlayStation for 3 years, which is how most exclusives are made.
Hm interesting, I always thought that Sony owned the IP
They're the publisher in this context, iirc
Parent of Santa Monica studios seems to be PlayStation studios but probably afterwards, interesting either way that it's heading to pc
Yeah, Santa Monica studios are a subsidiary of Sony
Without going through their stat accounts to check ('cause I can't be arsed & hate US GAAP stat accounts)
You wanna hear crazy, Matrix 1 ripped off The Invisible by Grant Morrisson, the comic. But because Time-Warner owns both, Grant can't sue his own publisher. 😦 😦 😦
Publishing monopolies are the devil.
Both to games, and to music industry. 😦
God of War.. all of them (haven’t played the new one) were legendary, specially the puzzles that had to be solved, combat was so satisfying, pretty stoked to try the new one when it comes to PC.
Never been interested in god of war so I'm not affected by it releasing to pc. On the other hand it would be great if horizon 2 gets released on pc.
Tbh, we are still affected by console exclusives
so if if even one that used to be console exclusive gets to pc
it is good, that means, there is at least some hope that our favourite games are going to come in future
Yea that is true for sure
Microsoft did the right thing by merging pc and console into one package deal.
Does anyone know if Lost Ark could be played as a single player game?
whole campaign yes (but maybe a bit harder with the support oriented classes)
end game, not sure
Thanks.
Yes.
Is it any good?
I heard mixed opinions for Undecember.
Has anyone here tried it?
More hyped by Lost Ark tbh but from what I've seen of Undecember it looks good
Oh dang. Diablo 4 going to be a Microsoft product.
https://variety.com/2022/digital/news/microsoft-to-buy-activision-blizzard-1235156048/
Honestly, the way things have been going at Blizzard, it wouldn't be the worst thing lol
things are looking grim for the breastmilk thieves, bill is definitely gonna be able to afford locks for all the fridges
Breastmilk was stolen for gains. Doesn't make it better though. D:
Blizzard's issues extend beyond overall ownership, it's largely internal.
But yeah, I think it's a general overall plus.
Here's the thing about Microsoft, they're going to want a return on their VERY massive investment and are likely not going to tolerate any of that BS.
Personally, I expect something along the lines of when Disney bought Star Wars. It may not be what every gamer wants but it'll be a damn sight better than what we've gotten the last decade or so.
jjust a quick question about diablo2r
on the site d2jsp they sell\trade items for "FG"
what is this fg?
a currency used on the forum bought with real money from someone which then was used to trade for items in game
ohhhhhhhh so it is RMT ?
but how ingame you get not scammed?
there's a trade window you can use where you can hover over the offered items and accept afterwards
i'd rather have nothing if that's the path we're gonna go down
ingame i know xd,
i meant in that site you told me these FG are d2sjp forum currency, so not ingame diablo2 gold or other currency.
so if i sell you a stone of jordan in that forum for 10 FG for exemple,
how do you know that i will login ingame and trade it to you?
and how we both not get banned for rmt?
no clue never used it after reading about FG
i dislike the whole concept
can recommend the chaos sanctuary discord
worked well for what it is
anyone knows a good competitive FPS that has NO bugs, hit regs, whatsoever and mainly significantly less cheaters than Rainbow Six ?
by competitive I mean CS, Valorant, Rainbow etc, not some kind of CoD arcade-y garbage
Rainbow Six is the best "competitive" shooter I know, but I only played on console and never saw cheaters
I personally love playing Battlefield
I don't like the "hero" shooters personally, Rainbow is shooter first unlike Valorant et al
Titanfall 2's Northstar mod on PC can get pretty intense because of all the verticality
Main issue with R6 is that the game is in a state where it's completely getting destroyed by its devs
Well yeah, did you see the new R6 game coming out this week?
Ah Ubisoft at its finest, they released a free trial of Extraction but guess what, it's not on Ubisoft connect and you have to go through a shitty and tedious process to get the trial
Yeah I suspect Extraction will fail and they won't know why. R6 as a franchise kept going up and up and up and then... wtf is this?
Man I was hoping RDR2 would keep me busy before Dying Light 2, but RDR2 is so awful to play...
I just don't get why a game like that is so highly touted and people talk crap about Cyberpunk, Cyberpunk is so much more fun
RDR2 was praised by the press and influencers (some trying to get attention by praising the game)
but the players reception was more mixed, the game often refered as boring
while CP77 suffered from not being at the level where it was expected, particularly on PS4 and X1 (that were the main target for most of the development)
CP77 took a lot of time for fixing issues (and most of the content that should have been added is still yet to be added)
I still have my PS3 RDR copy
it's a special edition, came with a map
and it shines in the light
i am thinking to take the dying light 2, but i am 50-50 not sure yet
The first one was so good I'm pretty much guaranteed to buy it, watched an early access video and it sounds like it's looking good
Was thinking about buying DL2 as well but that's the kind of game I'd rather watch than play, idk why
I'm thinking about getting into the Serious Sam series for the first time. Does anyone have any input on what is the better version for the first game? Original, HD or Classic Revolution.
I played hd the other day and it ran fine. Idk how the regular would do on a modern machine
Found Tsushima, 2077, BOTW and Odyssey 40 to 50% off this week
Saw the leak about the patch, sounds way too good to be real
which patch?
next gen
Dlc?
no no, next gen patch
the "next gen patch" for what though?
I can see myself playing steamdeck right now
Lost Ark is very boring. Shallow gameplay with no unique drops. Everything just funnels you through the exact same content for everyone. I'm really bored after 30 hours.
Can't wait till we see some new last epoch classes and multiplayer.
Everything just funnels you through the exact same content for everyone How does that differ from any aRPG?
MMORPGs don't have a complex skill system, boring loot, and nothing to actually work towards
at least you don't spend a single dime, if you haven't already. it's good thing that you know about urself in terms of personal taste in video games
I can imagine the feeling from getting new drops that are higher in rarity or the ones we're looking for
Yeah, I've almost finished the story, but not super inclined to finish as I'm starting to feel like I'm doing the same thing over (despite the nice graphics and crisp combst). It does have its moments though; I do really the world bosses and I like finding the hidden dungeons.
Funnily enough, while playing LA it got me thinking about Star Wars Galaxies (never had the chance to play when I was younger), and while looking up some stuff on the state of the game, I stumbled across another MMO from the era - Anarchy Online. It really intrigued me so I checked it out, and now am hooked. I'm now somehow more excited to play some 20 year old MMO than Lost Ark.
yo lost ark is lowkey lit.
i didnt know i wanted an mmorpg with arpg combat/camera pov until now :D
are there any other mmorpg's with arpg elements?
i genuinely cant decide on wether to play LE or lost ark (i know u cant compare those 2 cause they're differrent genres)
Lost Ark feels like a top down version of BDO, idk why people keep comparing it to an ARPG besides the camera
yea ik only the combat and camera pov are arpg(the combat not 100%)
i just love that concept, mmo with arpg elements
I there is none. the mechanics will be like in many MMORPG like the item drops, power level progression, and core gameplay loop
idk if MMO and ARPG can overlap much, besides the bare minimum RPG systems
long-time online ARPGs can only really survive through seasonal resets, while MMOs focus a lot more on persistent world and progression
unique drops and drops that are stronger than ever found in ARPG are non-exist. you can only find ARPG elements in another ARPG game
its like WoW made love to an arpg and lost ark is the result :p
eh, I'd use another korean MMO for the comparison, since the way its gearing and other systems work are the same across that whole industry
and still it'd be like 95% MMO 5% ARPG
ye probably "any" mmo, i just havent played a lot of them and wow was my longest
what makes one more successful than the others is the progression that is actually fun, streamlined, and just right amount required to progress personally speaking
that 5% makes the differrence for me tho haha
idk i just fucking LOVE playing with arpg camera
feels like a very fresh concept for future mmos
asian MMOs are pretty infamous because early game they are very generous, but late game they all turn into like, you must have 5 alts, do 1 hour of dailies on each, send all materials to your main character so you can try to craft gear, and upgrading your gear has a 0.05% chance of success, if it fails you lose all materials and must grind again, OR CREDIT CARD
and yeah, I always like when a genre at least tries to do one new thing instead of copying the rest (like the entire battle royale genre)
but under the skin it's just that, another endgame gambling simulator trying to get your wallet
are there (non cosmetic) stuff that u can only get with real money?
or is the p2w just to progress faster?
I mean, yes it is to progress faster but like
I would say keep in mind for mechanics that are very different in lost ark compared to WoW @potent zephyr
f2p with a single character it takes nearly 3 years of daily grind to get what someone can credit card instantly
if i can reach the same power lvl as anyone who pays while being f2p i dont mind taking more time to do so
I don't mind paying for faster progression in most games, if the f2p route can achieve it in a reasonable time
but like I said, people who played LA in the korean/russian server mathed out and f2ps take on average over 2.5 years to get there
also find out about the progression from experienced players so you can get the right impression
oh... so it takes waaay too much time to progress f2p?
bummer :(
it's the same crap a lot of phone games like raid shadow legends do
first few weeks you get a ton of free amazing gear, characters, etc. to hook you while the game is cool
then it starts to take way too long to do anything
so you start with "oh well I'll put $5 for a XP booster, $5 is nothing! I already played 300 hours for free"
"ok, I don't mind putting $20 a month, after all it's the game I play most"
"ok, I need to add another $100 this week to keep up with my raiding group, don't wanna fall behind"
ill have to ask in the game's discord server or subreddit cause no one answered to me ingame lmao
I'd suggest finding a russian or korean player, everyone in the west is in the honeymoon phase and shilling hard for it
find someone who's played for 3 years and cooled down
I recommend joining the community discord, not the official one and find english speaking players who already played lost ark KR and have many playtimes. hopefully you can answer the questions and curiosities you have
if it turned out to be my main game i wouldnt mind 20 bucks/month but 100 to keep up with others? heeelll naah lol
I made up those numbers, I think at least for now LA is a bit more generous than that
just saying it's how a lot of these games trap people in
you start justifying spending a bit here, a bit there
buying a skin, buying the battlepass
before you realize, you spent $600 in the past year on the game
and are starting to regret it
yea been there
regrets all over the place haha
I mean, it's f2p and if you having fun for now that's great
i wish i could go back a few years and knock me out lol
just saying, give it a month before rushing to conclusions or spending money
let that honeymoon phase wear off, see how the endgame really is as a f2p
and decide for yourself
wise words my friend
I guarantee you there's hundreds of thousands of players who rushed to buy that platinum founder's pack who already quit
didn't look much into it, think some xp boosts, and things like crafting resources
and some skins
hmm ok
anyways thx for all the info im off to go questing again :D
have fun
glhf mate
I never played WoW past alpha because of how incredibly generic it was. There used to be awesome MMO's
i played in pandaria expansion for a bit, got bored and dropped it, came back in Legion which was a rly good expansion, dropped it again in BfA and played classic from there on
legion and classic were awesome but the rest yea... nothing special
Well. I made another seasoned character on D3. 😒
Nice
is anyone here maining a paladin in Lost Ark? i have a question and no one responds to me in the Lost Ark discord lmao
LE has spoiled me by explaining everything so nicely, in lost ark i have so many questions about abilities n stuff 😛
LE have less abilities confusion compared to damn Chaosbane. 😂
I got the same responses sometimes hahaha. people are busy grinding, etc.
Speaking of Lost Ark, I just can't get over the walking animations for women in that game.
Just real ???-territory
Are you surprised? The game reeks of weeb cringe.
Other than cut scenes, we can barely notice that due to isometric view
Tbh, I be looking into YouTube for lost ark
It really feels weird af, especially in cut scenes, normal gameplay, I never notice it unless I zoom in
Though going into any territory, due to it being M rated, I don't feel much
Though many things in it instead feels like targeted towards teens
With the cutscenes and areas the way they are I tend to confuse LA with TERA xD
It is honestly kind of surprisingly bad.
welp its just how it was in open beta, sadge
i've been staying logged in(lost ark) from the moment i wake up to the moment i go to sleep to avoid queues
power went out for 5 mins, pc closed
14k queue 😐
its fine, its not like i didnt want to wait 2,5 hours to play 😄
Have you tried another server? Didn't they expand the EU servers?
i would, but i dont wanna lose all my character/roster progression
they added eu west
Oh man I've had 1k queue but that sounds insanely bad
We are looking for more Last Epoch players for our discord channel, Lords of Terror. We started as a diablo 2 channel, but play a lot of POE and now Last Epoch. We are mostly older players 25-40 but we have players of all ages, 18+ only though please.
1k queue? nah thats no prob, i have 1k queue every day i wake up, its a bit less than 10 mins wait
thing is, later in the day that 1k becomes 5k/10k/15k
so once i login i dont log out, i need my sanity
what region and server name ur playing in?
Lost Ark story is unbearable. I'm glad you can skip it for 2 alts
ye. hopefully they will giveaway more pass in the future
Yeah I tried to get into it in the beginning but when I realized it was standard mmo story I just started skipping. Unfortunately the back half of the game was filled with unskippables
central eu , Neria
Anyone interested in joining a path of exile guild? We mostly play hardcore but also some softcore , we have a very active group. PM me if interested, we also play D2R and Last Epoch of course but no MP on LE yet
This War of Mine is $3.99 on Steam https://t.co/gX4ysRIs9v

Elden Ring here i fucking come
Enjoy!
A good action with a game I just absolutely despise for its politics.
So, thumb up from me at least.
The politics of.... Being anti war? Lol
Ironically the most famous non-resistance author was Russian and banned from publishing in his own country
Chat got weird
No. I am obviously on board with that.
It has some weird narratives about a real-life war that happened about individualistic survivor stuff rather than community spirit.
The game is inspired by the Siege of Sarajevo (1992-1996), I know someone who has spoken to people who were there.
People tend to band together in tough times.
Nah, don't worry, not going to argue in favour of war 😛
At this point Battlefield just needs to change the number in front of it's name to a dynamically updated 24-hour peak player count.
The game is fun, don't care what anyone says. When I need war FPS fix, that's my goto.
Time to have fun
Anyone here play other ARPG like path of exile and D2R?? We are looking for more Last epoch players for our active voice chats, we also play a lot of POE and D2R. We are very excited for last epoch multiplayer and looking for other adults to come play with us when the time comes :) please message me if you are interested
Just stumbled across this the other day; Whether you've played Bloodborne or not, this is definitely something to check out if you're a fan of souls/souls-like games (it even has local coop!):
https://b0tster.itch.io/bbpsx
could nightmare creatures be described as soulslike?
Depends
Does it have life/mana/stamina bars, rolling, dying and retrying, and so on
hell The Surge is a soulslike
I'm going to start referring to everything as dynasty warriors like
For Honor is just NA Dynasty Warriors: Change my mind.
@warm hollow It could be server related.
When I did get lag in PoE, it was really bad and I had to wait.
it sort of is
i'm in a US guild and they see the same shit i do in aus
@tardy arch you cant tell me this is "working as normal"
It's normal for a guild stash that needs to prevent duping
Hey guys, anyone know a game thats similiar to terraria and stardew valley on the switch?😊
in what sense
Im not sure reallt, longevity aspect? Be creative, farm, combat mine etc
the big switch farming sims are Animal Crossing and Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town
Rune Factory 4 might last you a while.
1/π+(1/π)=1
is this wrong?
i need that for a math assignment
like to proof or disprove that
you lost me at lemon meringue pie
it's just a high school grade assignment
but i gotta do chores anway
im kinda desparate to solve it
maybe i can solve it later
monet has already solved it I think
since 1/π+(1/π) => 2/π, therefore 2/π = 1, therefore 2 = π ... oops, that can't be right, so the equation is disproved
however, in formal math, you're only allowed to manipulate one side of the equation while proving
idk if this high school requires that, or if so, which side needs to be manipulated
Since π is a constant and easily filled in you can solve. And no, it's not equal at all 1/π + (1/π) = 0.63661977236758134307553505349006 not 1
yeah but I'm imagining this syllabus is american
which means you have to simplify to one value first, instead of just pulling out a calculator or typing the thing into google like a reasonable person
2/π != π/π solved US method.
yeah that's what he'd have to write maybe
holly fuck thats long ago but:
(x or pi whatever)
1/x + (1/x) = 1 multiply the both sides with X
1 + 1 = x
2 = x ... well guess 2 is not pi
hey @granite monolith did the same im so proud of myself not having read this before .d
If you like crpgs and 3.5 d&d ruleset tomorrow a cult will be released
Knights of the chalice 2
You talking about buying a switch makes me think of buying a Steam Deck... sorry no tips otherwise.
still havent sawn much about the sdeck
what kind of tips are you looking for?
Aside from not buying the switch lite (unless you are comfortable with it being fairly basic compared to standard switch) I'd say if you are buying games especially AAA ones, might be better to buy them in local stores rather than online. Online is pretty expensive compared to what I've seen in stores here in the UK.
More like what are the cool games to buy, if its worthy the money, the controllers how they feel, acessories etc
general tips
for the games, it depends on what you like
aside the more obvious ones (zelda, kirby, smash bros, etc), I'd say astral chain and xenoblade chronicles 2 (and 1 if you never played it)
for the controller, the pro is great but I used it only for splatoon 2 as I play exclusively in handheld mode to the other games
The OLED one is by far the best if you're planning on using the built-in screen. Do not get a first version if you can avoid it (lower battery life and possible frame stutters in some titles)
Haven't had frame stutters and battery can be replaced but yes if you're not comfy tinkering a bit just get a new oled switch
Anyone here try the new borderlands? The endgame mode is surprisingly decent from a series that always shits the bed the second you beat story lol
Nope lol, I've yet to beat the Borderlands 2 story (restarted it several times, and always drop it after about ~10-15 hours)
So haven't played the Pre-Sequel or Borderlands 3 yet (or the DLCs for Borderlands 2 for that matter)
So quite a ways away from the newest borderlands, although good to know it's got some endgame to it, thank you.
no bl3 was enough of a turnoff, coupled with EGS exclusivity its a skip for me
Yeah, BL3's story wasn't great.
I personally don't like any of the BL stories, I exclusively play them for the variety of weapons, playing different builds, and the raids (or takedowns for 3)
And I don't think I will be getting Wonderlands because I can't stand listening to Tina
I don't play for the story either but if it's bad enough to make me not wanna play I won't support them anymore
Same. I played BL for Scooter.
bl presequil was fun .. if you like the story from the side of handsome jacks + cohorts perspective
played bl 1 2 3 and pre
just not stories of the borderlands .. i watched that 1 from the play perspective from an other player ( just as i watched batman: ark assylum ..
@potent dew @dusky heath Sorry for ping, still not sure who I should report the above to ^
Thank you for the ping! I am a good person to ping for stuff like that.
Good to know
my favorite was the ps
Oh god... dont... dont... arggh.... you are going to get me stuck back into lacking sleep..... no... stop... I... dont... want... to.... launch.... another... rocket.... into... space..... dammit... you can never have enough green circuits.....
No matter how much I see of this game, I'm just as interested as before. In other words no interest. I guess some games no matter how popular won't always attract everyone.
Factorio is most definitely a niche type game and is definitely not for everyone and I wouldnt suggest it for anyone who likes playing LE/PoE type games as its got nothing but the grind in common..... but for those, like me, who play... its damn addictive...
nah, theorycrafting is definitely a part of it
when you break down their core gameplay loops the only major difference is the means
they're both games about getting resources, making cool builds, and killing enemies
and maximising efficiency
factorio is better tho bc it has trains
Pfffft, Dyson Sphere Program has robotic drone ships >>> trains
if it doesnt have railways and traffic management i dont wanna hear about it
My train is fucked
I think Im gettinf the hang of how train works... despite using a template.
if you wanna use a nice QoL mod, there's one called LTN that makes trains smarter, it's awesome
pretty much lets you use trains like logistics robots with send/receive nodes, suppliers & depots, etc
Just found out Extremely OK Games (creators of Celeste) are making a new game for 2023 release: https://exok.com/posts/2022-04-13-earthblade-update/
I'm, like, screaming
Looks better than Celeste
Didn't like the look of celeste but this for some reason gives an Ori vibe to me
New game since I ran out of iron.
lmfao
i setup a big blues chip zone a bit too early in my factory and it is disastrous
I might give Factorio another chance since I recently started playing (and sucking really badly) Oxygen not included.
Yeah blue chips start sucking copper hard.
Before it would barely move.
Im pre-designing my furnance to chunk out plates hard
Room for more electric furnace
Before Factorio did their price increase, I read a post about it. I played the demo, and thought to myself "damn this is good!", and went right ahead and bought the game.
Haven't actually played the game since then. But one day i will 🙂
Always fun to make your own blueprint rather than copy pasting from the net.
I do use blueprint on mall, rail road, and oil refinery.
Mall being a chunk of factory that makes most of the stuff you need.
Better pic of the furance
Still need to mine that coal and copper 😠
Damn no copper
There is one butI cant mine it fast enough for my hungry factories
There is 19m on the left but I cant defend it with current tech
only thing i've really bp'd from online so far is belt balancers
i asked my friend to make an LDS factory, he just attached to our already hungry blues maker
honestly the design is ingenious
the open section on the right makes expansion pretty rough, no clue where the next lake is
They always remind me of heatsink
So I take it this game is a lot harder than ONI?
not really harder
it is possible to have a world get totally bricked early on
but usually later you can just rebuild whatever you've lost
the hardest part of the game tends to be expanding your factory, just because you need to dedicate military resources to it, which isnt really a problem once you get artillery and a solid electrical and train network
That sounds complicated
I hope I get artillery soon. I wanna drive my train into some ore nodes while bombing everything
I been struggling with ONI but it feels like this game is harder
Currently my train just carry ammo
Factorio is about planning
Enemy will get stronger over time but also pollution and destroying nest increase it.
I probably need to separate my weapon production to have its own furnace
Is this the way to park your boat bois??

Whats the big dark area in the middle?
If you like Factorio I highly recommend giving The Riftbreaker a try. Basically Factorio meets StarCraft, but you're piloting a Goliath.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/780310/The_Riftbreaker/
You play the role of captain Ashley S. Nowak - you are the Riftbreaker, an elite scientist/commando inside a powerful Mecha-Suit. Enter a one-way portal to Galatea 37, a distant planet at the far reaches of the Milky Way Galaxy, with the purpose of building up a base that will allow travel back to Earth and further colonization. Ashley's Mecha-s...

Similar to TA, bunch more resource management and base building aspects though. You are your only mobile combat unit, all other factory defenses are turrets/towers. So plays like a hybrid of Hack/Slash and RTS
I saw some gameplay. Looks cool and I have it on my wishlist
There is (or was) a demo for it
Yea there is
I'm interested enough to buy it without even playing the demo
It's why I haven't bothered with the demo xD
One thing to ask is does the game allow for mods
Looks like it can
Massive solar panels
I do have nuclear power
Its turns on the nuclear reactor when te battery capacity is getting low. The game puts nuclear reactor before batteries so I had to do this.
Yes, full mod support and a really active modding community.
Also one of the best benchmarks suits I've seen in a single game in a while.
Man LTN is really borked when it comes to handling multiple items.
It just doesn't work.
It works if it handle items one type at a time. (All iron ore for example) It doesn't work with this.
you'd probably be able to setup a combinator computer to sort that stuff out
but... why lol
for the most part with the items you have there you can just import iron, coal, copper, and stone
maybe crude oil if there's none near the base
Mostly to give replacement parts to other base.
i reckon for things like that you should just forgo the LTN
i wish the wireless signal thing was part of a different mod
there's a building in space exploration that lets you send signals across maps
could use that to setup something closer to a blue chest for the LTN
My best bet is to do a bit of math and toggle the station off myself.
Anyone have Back 4 Blood?
Yes
thoughts on v rising?
looks unimpressive
hard pass.
I played the tutorial, actually seems decent enough, won't be refunding haha
so far it feels like valheim with smoother combat and better graphics
For those that think Julra & the other dungeon bosses are too hard..... https://crawl.develz.org/ Dont think I have ever played a harder game.... the RNG is crazy frustrating....
I am in Boletaria atm, I am good for difficulty, thanks 😛
Stone Soup...the one roguelike that had minotaurs and naga. Along with random gen. I approve.
Wasn't there an illithid-type creature as well? I have yet to see medusas as a race...umm...anywhere...?
The third area in Demon's has mind flayers
Yeah, we definitely need a racial fit for some type of psionicist class in most future games, if anybody finally gets the idea to include some outside-the-box concepts like artificers, illusionists, mentalists, and maybe races that resemble illithid and miniature beholder's, or at least some type of necromantic undead, mythologically archetypal, anthropomorphic imagery.
And I am serious, lacking artificers, gadgeteers, engineers, is another really lacking cross-section of class to add to any game that even remotely embraces any elements of Steampunk in recent, or any, RPG history, aside from maybe Wizardry 8 coming to mind.
I still really think every game should add bards with multiplayer as well, and classes like druids, samurai, monks, and psionicists, in any dungeon crawling aRPG that focuses on endgame content.
Idk if the game needs another class apart from the last few mastery classes worked out and a few reworks/skins. Each the of the 5 classes resemble each of the 5 time zones so adding another class doesn't seem to fit thematically. Druids already exist, and you can make the argument that sentinel is a swordsman/samurai archetype. A weaponless possiblity for a specific class would be very interesting (weaponless sentinel or primalist), and would resemble a monk
If another class had to be added, I can see one similar to the scion in poe. Perhaps being able to take aspects from all mastery classes, but I would also see this to be extremely hard to balance so I wouldn't hold my breath on it
On a long timeline, you'll need new classes in DLC. That's marketing.
Maybe, but i feel like there are more important things to work out before getting to new classes/DLC. Poe is very successful without the addition of DLC classes, but a lot of this is likely to do how the league system works and how in depth the league mechanic can be. I would say that besides multiplayer that the most important thing for the game to work on now is planning on the first several cycles, fleshing out the current classes completely, adding to the ancient era, and graphical redesign on character models/skills
i remember they said most of the monetization will be cosmetic, so I wouldn't doubt cosmetic dlcs similar to how paradox games work
That's not entirely true. PoE added ascendancies later, the classes didn't really mean anything before.
True, but you don't have to pay for them which is what I meant
and ascendencies killed the idea the class was just a starting point and you could make whatever character you wanted from it, it killed the main point of having one single passive tree >.>
The one single passive tree isn't as neat as idea as one might think
Besides the fact that some builds are just a bad idea with an absurd amount of travel to be playable.
It was different when it was introduced because you could take any class & make any build you wanted, more so when they all started in the centre.
I don't get the appeal of making classes meaningless though
shrugs it was a long time ago. You could view them as more akin to different skins/voice packs, potentially with slightly different stats (can't remember tbh). Back before we were aware that (some) devs would resort to duplicitous mind-fuckery to part us from our hard earned cash.
demon's souls new character mage
man, it's even more fun when you know what you know what you're doing
crescent falchion being available at the start of the game is ridiculous

i dont think gaming is for me anymore
It is, and while I really want to play it, I refuse to pay £70 for it (currently "generously" discounted to £50)...
£70... gulp... thats not funny.
