There are two sides to that coin. In one hand I enjoy everything that has been done so far in the game and everytime I login I have an amazing experience. In the other hand, there were certain promises that were made and certain ambitions the game had that made people not only play it, but follow it month after month and season after season... When there was an announcement of the new owners people expected the worse just from the reputation the "new company" had and the fact that the worst fears are actually becoming a reality and the promises and ambitions we took for granted are slowly fading away.

I think it is great for people to share their opinion since the devs have always listened to the community and now shouldnt be any different. Without a community the game cant stay alive

They have an important team since they recruit after the release, 2 years ago.

But they needed manpower to work on the paid class and the incoming extension, so they chose to reduce rythm with 2 seasons during 2026-2027 before the extension probably releasing in the second half of 2027.

They haven't managed to meet their deadlines most of the time, with few exceptions.

It's because they tend to be overly optimistic when making promises. (That's why they finally can't keep them-> cf paid class backslash, 6-7 months average season duration, unfinished game, promises due to release stil not delivered, load of bugs, unbalance, etc...).

In the mean time it is because they are overly optimistic that they manage to create this game from a very small team on reddit. Reasonable people would not have attempted the adventure. So, I guess it's part of the package.

I'm aware of the reality of the situations and it doesn't look good but also yeah, this isn't like some grand affront. I think people are just generally mad and this happens to be an unfortunate victim in an unrelenting warpath.

I can understand criticisms but like everyone comes in here acting like EHG didn't call their mom back the next day. It's insane.

I get that I'm 35 now and am officially "unc" status and am therefore trying to be a bit too adult about it, but...

Not only have I definitely gotten my money's worth out of the game as-is, I also think the idea that content itself won't be behind paygates is an extremely graceful middle-ground.

I also think acknowledging openly that this isn't what users wanted (the delayed patch cycle) is fairly bold where most PR these days is about washing out any criticism.

I think I didn't understand a video about the evolution of corruption on the map and I'm asking for help.
I need to get the unique idol HARBINGER'S NEEDLE by killing the harbingers, but how do I make it appear after fighting the map boss?

when you go to enter the boss fight theres a lil toggle thingy you click

Your first harbinger you get in the first lvl 90 monolith and beating it unlocks empowered monoliths
Killing shade of Orobyss will give you corruption
if you have gaze of orobyss (which you get from killing the timeline boss) you get extra corruption.
having the needle equipped when you kill the boss gives you 3 extra gazes of orobyss

killing the shade will consume up to 4 gazes to give you extra corruption.
if there's a significant difference in corruption between the timeline you're currently doing and your highest you will automatically spawn the orobyss fight

I feel this sense of dread in the community... myself even tbh with content releases and updates, fixes and such. I truly hope they continue to build a fun game for years to come before a sequel or new game. I personally think if they could release seasons in two parts, a month or two after a season starts, update with something new and interesting that keeps active players playing and supporting the game by updating a season right before the new one releases.

Most leave within a few weeks and by two months the numbers are down to basic like what 1,000 people that play it religiously. How can this be healthy in a market that has PoE and Diablo and others...

I've disconnected my "read the pulse of LE" stuff months ago (#📚┃off-topic message, in case you care), but I can tell you that this doesn't exist. It's like <1% of people who feel that way. Why should you care? 'Cause it affects LE's coffers directly. In other words, the game's just fine. The only problems it's facing is the pacing of content, not that it was acquired by this or that, or that gamers read this or that headline.

Am not touching the game until they introduce meaningful progression and a reason for your actions instead of "nubmer go up", but I can tell you the game's still the same God-tier wonder, EHG is still the same extremely smart devs. Until further notice from the devs, nothing changed.

this was actually my first ARPG and still is my favorite probably because of bias, im new to the genre, but the amount of time between content release is why this game wont succeed as much as it could, its an incredible game held back by the fact it takes half a year to get any content in the game.

we still dont have a full campaign or a meaningful endgame and 1 uber. the game just needs anything at this point, i cant see at all why our next update has to be in march when our last one was in august, and that update as we all know was pretty underwhelming (which id like to point out, id be fine with it if we got another update a few months after) but to get a pretty underwhelming update followed by waiting 6 more months for the next update is not right

This has been the story and the curse of EHG all along development, really

They aren't being able to shake off extremely long content drop schedule

Official launch signifed it more than anything. A Feb 2024 1.0 release for a project that was intended to be released years prior.
The good karma is that the patch had higher quality and more polish than if it was to release a year or two or three prior. This project was funded in 2018 with the hope of seeing a 2020 release, with the reality setting in that it will take "a while longer" quite early

If my main is COF, and i make an alt on MG, buy an exalted piece of gear, and slam it onto a 1LP unique that doesn't have a MG requirement, will i be able to use this unique on COF character?

At level 15, the guide is barely starting. Some things take some time, you don’t have to put yourself down. And the leveling guide is not meant to be the absolute truth or meant to tell you the gear you have to have. It’s a suggestion to get you going.

Scanning the guide, I think its solid enough. There's no reason IMO to tell anyone, at least at this point, to take another path from it

I think that up to about level 60 it does most things right

Intuition would dictate that items that are particularly beneficial to none-Rive based builds will shift the build towards something else

dont take the gear in the guide too seriously, it's more of a "keep this if you find it type thing" rather than "If i dont have this, i can't continue" type thing. the campaign is in this game is a tutorial. it's not meant to be hard or punishing if you dont have everything perfect

Personally i think what they show for leveling gear is way too optimistic. They should he showing 1-2 affixes per item based on what's important for offense

Then give broad indications on what to tack on for defense

Its just incionsistent still. 4.5 months. 9 months. 4 months. And s4 is 7 months.

The devs have commented on it saying that their internal pipelimes for production arent set up yet (esp with their hiring a buncha people currently) to keep up with how big players want the patches to be. Player feedback after s3 was it was too small and so they listened but that requires more dev time. So s4 will be bigger, but takes longer to get out. Hopefully their hiring spree speeds up s5 and beyond

Do you know to which scale they acted on this "patches need to be bigger", or any details? Because S3 would've been a banger season in terms of content (theme just wasn't hot) if Prey had this ever-evolving mechanic to it that actually made them hard, culminating in a superduperomegacrazy mutated beast, the components of which were already in the game...? I just feel like the system wasn't done properly, but if it did, it would've been enough to satisfy most people's desires?

So, I don't think necessarily patches need to be bigger than S3 (amazing if they are), it's just that there always needs to be a reason for why you're playing, not just "number go up bro".

1. Hiring alone won't solve much, especially given their current size. In fact, it'll only make them bleed money even faster, given the circumstances. Not to mention even worse scrambling since the bigger the staff, the exponentially harder it is to micromanage tasks and connections between departments (heck, even within teams). Staff fluctuations always hurt those pipelines, and it often has a snowball effect (usually not in a good way; seen that firsthand).
2. The community has already given them A LOT of insights about their weak points (MTX quantity+quality and the sheer load of bug+tech debt being the main ones). Remains to be seen whether they act on that or not and whether it's too late or not.
3. Feature-creeping the game that's already showing loud signs of internal distress is a very bad idea, imo. That, plus bringing in new features guarantees bringing along even more bugs. 99 little bugs in the code, you know the drill.

It's already been discussed to death. 🙂 Only time will tell if the game survives what's to come.

By the way, this is why I've suggested to people that they think of LE as still <1.0. It absolutely and totally is a 1.0 game, but because it lives in a world where PoE exists, it will be constantly measured against that, right or not. The practicality of looking at this that way (and it not just being cope 😄 ) is that instead of quitting, and saying this is a bad game (which it isn't), you recognize how amazing a start they've had, and that they only need a few more patches to kick things into full motion.

I feel like, come the expansion, we'll have so many systems to play with, that it'll barely feel like we're missing anything, or that there's not much to do, etc.

I'm happy that EHG took this to heart, and realizes that it's just what the market is.

I get that. On the topic of feedback, if you hasve a business, never do direct feedback questionnaires or the like. People are just incapable of understanding what the core issues are. Pay a market research company that has real-time access to data, and can observe passively. It's the only way to extract truly meaningful insights. There is some value in asking people, but you have to spin it correctly. Asking people is a real science unto itself.

It's why I didn't like the fact that they asked specifics about MTX. People ain't gonna tell you what's wrong with MTX. They don't know. So, am hoping that questionnaire was, in reality, a way to gauge how many people see MTX' quality negatively.

I think micro transactions are a real issue but not in the way others say - I usually open a game like Last Epoch or POE and tell myself once I get to endgame and start running my build I’ll buy some MTX. LE is the first game I have went to do this opened the shop and felt disappointed there’s nothing for me to buy of interest it all looks meh

Two different things working together to create a combined stronger effect.

Paladin is a Mastery class for Sentinel. So start with a Sentinel character. There is also Void Knight and Forge Master Masteries available for Sentinel. If you picked one of those other Masteries instead of Paladin, you are able to respec the Mastery and also change everything else, Passives, Skills, etc.

The exception is the initial character selection - Sentinel. To have a different character, for example Rogue instead of Sentinel, you'd make a new Rogue character.

I'd love to be able to hybrid classes in some way to like, specialize a single skill even from another classes generic level ones.

I'd love to have access to throwing options for Primalist like Javelin. Or even be able to just use fury leap on a sentinel for the feel of crashing down from the heavens onto things. Mostly for customizable thematic satisfaction or fun rather than, minmaxxing to the top of a leaderboard with it. Attack skills obviously make more sense than spells for hybridisation but yeah, just a thought about something I'd love to be able to customize more. Though I know its a slippery slope of identity erosion too, but if strict and limited could make some pretty cool feeling playstyles more than, weird vapid one build to rule them all synergies that every class uses. Like being able to pick one attack, spell or minion skill from the base level skills of other classes if you do something, or sacrifice something for it even a a tradeoff. Just a thought.
