You can buy one month of vrc+ (then cancel the subscription) to rank up to new user so you can upload avatars, but ranking to user in order to upload worlds will still take some time. Don't know how long but definitely not a day

Posting this here as well as having posted this in the Canny, as it's still a bit muddy if anyone actually reads Canny posts:

"Constraints with Axis Driven Directly instead of only Relative"

As we cannot use our own scripts in VRChat, we're limited by what's whitelisted for components. Which is largely built-in Unity ones for anything not very specific to and made by VRChat. The Rotation Constraint component built into Unity, along with the Translation/Scale/Parent components, operate at relative angles to what the two objects orientations are in the Unity editor regardless of what the axis of the constrained object is. Not simply taking axis movement and directly copy/pasting that amount of movement to the constrained axis.

Now, for certain behaviours, this is perfectly fine. Mandatory/preferable over direct-axis translation to the other axis even in many cases. And for those cases, how things are now is amazing, as the maths required to be able to rotate something based on the arbitrary axis of the source object instead of simply copying values to the corresponding axis is incredibly difficult. The problem is, when you DON'T want that behaviour and want to be able to just go “X axis on the first object moves X axis on the other constrained object Y amount.”

To script this as a component is dead easy (It's literally taking the change in rotation/position/scale of one object and pasting that difference to the other object) to create, hence the reason that is not a built-in component in Unity. We cannot use our own scripts though, making such things impossible in VRChat.

So my proposal is,
A new set of component types that come with the VRC-SDK called “Direct Rotation Constraint”, with Translation/Scale/Parent equivalents. Operating in a similar fashion to the existing constraints, except it makes it's changes based on the local axis of the individual objects instead of relative to the axis of the source object(s) like the existing constraints do now.

Which from an interface standpoint is nearly identical and has all the same options (So ability to set multiple objects to be sources with weights, position/rotation/scale at rest, lock axis, etc.) the Unity native one has, except with two key additional options:

The ability to set which axis of the source object(s) affect the axis of the constrained object. For example, you want the rotation of the Y axis of the source object to change the Z axis of the constrained object instead of the Y axis of the constrained object. I imagine a interface of the three axis of the source on one side of a box with the 3 axis of the constrained object on the other, and being able to connect axis together like you would with connecting the nodes of the Udon Node script system.

The ability to invert the effects of axis. So if a object is rotated +12 degrees on the axis that's driving the rotation constrained axis, it would rotate that constrained axis -12 degrees instead. Easiest thing would be to have that as a toggle next to the constrained axis column with the previously described node-connect method of setting which axis affects what.

All of that was a very long winded way of describing something that should be incredibly simple if implemented, and would make previous functionally previously literally impossible now possible. For example, fingers on bat wings actually drivable by a humanoid rig as bat fingers need to be off-axis to look right. And duplicate arms being able to be off-axis from the source real arms, meaning they won't look as blatantly obvious they're constrained together. And far, far more examples I'm sure I can't even think of.

Thank you for any consideration, and I hope to see a time when avatar and world customization is extended to being able to do even more crazy things with an addition that in the grand scheme of things is incredibly simple.

Setting the minimum displayed avatar rank up to Poor or Medium can help a lot too, pretty much all of the performance issues in the game are caused by people's badly optimized content

Someone told me if I buy a Quest and keep it wired to my PC, I can use it just as good as any other headset, no Quest problems, but im confused i thought meta headsets had to have drawbacks and make things like full body tracking more difficult

That's partially true - you'll be able to play PCVR games yes, but you still won't be able to use FBT natively (you'll have to buy the lighthouses separately and use OVR Space Calibrator), and you'll still be limited to the Quest's inside-out tracking

You'll also need a VR-capable computer, since the headset will use your computer to do all the rendering instead of it's built-in processor

Mono is like the jvm - c# compiles to the dot net intermediate language and Mono executes it.

Il2cpp compiles that intermediate language so it just runs natively. I think you should see a speed boost from it. Not sure what the downsides are.

so I have a really odd problem with VRChat, I regurarly get ~12FPS with my quest 2 over airlink, but if I open the steamvr overlay I can see my fps in VRChat jumps back to 72, the second I close the overlay it goes back to 12FPS

sometimes it just clears up by itself, sometimes it takes a restart.

I have a weird question/feeling. Not sure where to put it.

Let's say you make a 3D model, and it takes time and effort.
At the same time maybe this avatar transforms into something else (like, if you write books maybe it became a character in the book you are writing)
So then, even it if isn't really good, it became yours, so the opinion of others is out of the question. It is more like "I did this, I want to show it, but my fear is to lose it". So you want to prevent the situation of seeing it somewhere else. See the character taken.

Anyone knows about ways to prevent/handle that scenario?

you just need to be able to accept people are arses and they will steal what is good

there is a way although it is not to be played with unless you want to run the risk of a ban and you know wht your doing
