When I need to get a bunch of nanites quickly, I run to a bunch of pirate stations. You can buy Tech/Arms packets from the merchant that give you upgrade modules you can turn around and sell for nanites. A handful of different pirate stations can net thousands of nanites. Not sure if that's helpful. You also need the units to purchase, that can be costly, in the millions.

It's been know for a while that real boosted speed in atmosphere of a planet is actually much lower that what ship speedometer tells. Supposedly to prevent clipping through terrain when going too fast. But no one has offered accurate numbers or how it works, so I set out to check it out on my own.

TL;DR:
Starship speedometer shows false Boost speed while flying in planet's atmosphere close to the ground. The real speed is usually much slower.
With best mod configs, one can expect real speed of:

• around 280 u/s
• around 390 u/s for Sentinel Interceptors and Starborn Runner/Phoenix only

On average, a well moded Exotic/Fighter/Explorer/Solar will be showing around 800 u/s, but going only 280, while my fastest Interceptor is showing 1095 u/s on the clock, but actually goes 384.
