@lost ermine but seriously, there are factors in the Random Number Generation (pseudorandom, actually) used to procedurally generate the star systems, including the nature of the galaxy you are in (Euclid, the starting one, is "Normal" type, while Lush planets are more common in "Lush" type galaxies.) as well as the region which appears to have an influence. So, if not finding any or many, fly a ways away to another region and see if that helps. Or try a "Lush" galaxy, or focus on Yellow star systems with water in the system description... Or all of the above.

By jumping through black holes, you may be avoiding regions with more Lush worlds. Try going in a straight line, pick a destination system that is Yellow and has water in its system description to maximize chances. As you go, you will pass through multiple regions, sooner or later you will find one. Your mileage may vary. If I'm searching for something like this, I use the "Core route" in Galactic Map usually because it is mostly a straight route with lots of systems to pick from.

Which makes me mildly surprised that the worldgen-based-off-that-seed will actually change a given planet. I assume the perlin/poisson noise algorithms and their corresponding seeds don't change with patches - otherwise you'd risk breaking saves, bases, and a whole lot of other stuff - but mildly surprised they'd risk adding stuff to existing worldgens like islands

I thought that was the whole poitn of the green/red/blue/pruple planets they added post-launch

The floating islands terrain type is different and has existed since NEXT I believe, that's the one with very low and wide floating islands that can be mistaken for weird mountains

The terrain gen before WP1 allowed for floating land bits. The new floating islands are a different deal though. Technically they are terrain assets, a family of objects that can be placed on actual terrain like rocks, trees or crystals, but they get placed high up to appear floating
