5.10 Galactic Core Warp Bug
With version 5.10, if you warp through a galactic core to another galaxy, you will lose your freighter and fleet.

• Do NOT attempt to warp to another galaxy (even via the The Purge mission from the main Artemis quest) until you have patch 5.11.
• Patch 5.11 fixes the bug but it does not restore your freighter.

Hello, @everyone. As you know, we very sparingly use the everyone ping. However, today we use it for an issue that has the potential to affect everyone.

As some of you may know, Net Neutrality's existence is being threatened by the FCC. On December 14th, the FCC will vote to repeal Net Neutrality unless we can stop it.

What is Net Neutrality and why does it matter?

Net neutrality is the principle that Internet providers like Comcast & Verizon should not control what we see and do online. In 2015, startups, Internet freedom groups, and 3.7 million commenters won strong net neutrality rules from the US Federal Communication Commission (FCC). The rules prohibit Internet providers from blocking, throttling, and paid prioritization—"fast lanes" for sites that pay, and slow lanes for everyone else.

Without Net Neutrality, ISPs (such as Comcast, Verizon, AT&T, etc.) can charge websites millions in order to have access to the "fast lane" of the internet that ISP's would create because of greed. Not only could they charge websites to have prioritization, they could charge YOU to be able to access your favorite websites. For example, you could be charged an extra fee a month just to access Discord. It is a threat to freedom of speech itself.

What can you do to help stop Net Neutrality from being repealed?

As you may know, representatives do what they believe will get them votes in order to be reelected to office. Call or email your local representatives and tell them what Net Neutrality means to you and how its repeal will negatively affect everyone. Hello everyone, it's the beginning of April and I'm here with another Monthly Server Update.

✅ Waking Titan Season 2
▶ The lore based ARG "Waking Titan" has finally woken up again after several months of patient waiting. This series of events led us to various places such as W/ARE and back to Myriad. Phase 4 concluded with Hello Games Developer Sean Murray unveiling the studios next major content update for No Man's Sky. No Man's Sky: NEXT ... This update along with an Xbox One and Chinese release of the game will go live in the Summer of 2018.

Server Growth & State of the Community

Hey everyone! As NEXT vastly approaches (5 days 😱), naturally the server is growing. In-fact, we've had nearly 600 new members in a week!

I'd just like to take this chance to remind all members, new and old of Rule #1 in #welcome - Keep it Civil.
At this point, pretty much all the finer details of announced gameplay changes coming in NEXT are speculation. Because you believe it, doesn't make it true, no matter how obvious you might think it is.

Hey everyone!

This message is for PC Users who have been following guides or may have been exposed to some misinformation regarding your device's settings in regards to running No Man's Sky.

"UseArbSparseTexture" causes nvidia drivers to crash

"TexturePageSizeKb"  is the minimum size texture to stream, and while many people seem to think this is their VRAM and are setting it to enormous levels, this is not the case.

People  are setting "MaxFrameRate" to ridiculous things, like 1000 -that sets the physics timestep - running Havok at 1000fps is not good for performance.

"NumHighThreads" and "NumLowThreads" - setting those too high will cause stuttering

More often than not, this will not lead to improved performance, and HG may not be able to support you. Each system is unique, and so there is no one performance fix for all. As such the best course of action is to report any performance errors to the developer Support Desk under **Report a Bug, Crash or Issue at: https://hellogames.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

1.56 has been launched onto PS4, with no patch notes available on the website yet. The update history states "Fixed an animation issue" which may relate to those who had issues with animations when exiting their ship.
Speculation is that it also brings the farming times to patch those in the latest PC patch.

If you're experiencing difficulties with your product, Hello Games needs your Save Game Files in order to be able to look at the issue and try to reproduce it. It's very hard to fix a bug when you don't know what the bug looks like ;)

If possible, please submit a Zendesk (https://hellogames.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new) ticket with your save file linked to a Google Drive with a description of the issue.

If you are on PC and you have modified any of the `TK*SETTINGS` files (like `TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS.mxml`), please delete the file and allow the game to regenerate them before submitting a bug report. Sometimes, custom modifications to these files have very unexpected consequences.

Hey everyone,
Pretty soon we are going to start taking submissions for our own NMSCord Community Spotlight selections! We thought this would be a nice way for all of the amazing screenshots and artwork that has been shared on this server to be recognized by the community, and create a more engaging way for users to participate in it as well.

The way it will work is, each Spotlight period will have a theme. We'll have a set time for you to submit images around this theme, and after this period of time, the staff will put up a post outlining some of their picks for the top submissions! You can submit up to 3, but only one of your submissions will be chosen, so keep that in mind.

The theme for this period will be: Spooky! 🎃 💀

NO, these are not patch notes. Just trying to put together something comprehensive for the community

Pillar One: No Man’s Sky: Online

16-32 players, dependant on platform, filled with online friends and strangers.

Able to see players on planet just by dropping in where other players are.

The Nexus - a new social space, without load times. Can be called in any system the player is currently stationed in. Think of this equal to Destiny’s Tower.

Includes new shops, new missions, new story elements

Nada and Polo own The Nexus

Exists outside of space and time

Can take on multiplayer missions, broadcast to anyone in the Nexus, and form up in “fireteams”, seamlessly exiting into the same system together

“Once you dock at a Nexus, you'll connect to up to 31 other players, all linked by a mix of Hello Games' server infrastructure and a peer-server system.“

“You'll also see "screenshots of bases they've built on planets" floating near them. These images are firm reminders that anyone in a given Nexus can warp to someone's base anywhere in the galaxy by interacting with that stranger (should their permissions allow it)

Community missions - Accepting these missions will warp players directly to a particular system or planet, where they'll automatically join a shard of other online players. Completing these rewards players with in-game currency, which can be spent on a new "rewards shop" Community missions WILL NOT be in game at release

Featured Bases - Hello Games recognizing user-made content across the game's galaxy based on factors like popularity among Nexus users. Should a user's creations become popular enough, every single online player will get a limited-time nudge to warp directly to that base and see it first-hand, if they so choose.

Certain planets are also being transformed into social spaces where players can mess around with one another.

Pillar Two: No Man’s Sky: VR

Supports all major headsets as well as their various control methods.

Teleportation movement options as well as direct movement.

“Grab the flight stick in one hand and throttle in the other”

“Reach out to lift the cockpit up…”

Everything that can be done in the base game can be done in VR, meaning you can also join non-VR players with no restrictions (other than them not being able to fist-bump you). It is absolutely not as simple as letting you control your character’s head directly. (Think Elite here - you can move your head, but not control your arms)

VR Controls are fundamentally different, from activating your analysis visor by tapping the side of your head, to navigating menus by physically prodding at holographic displays that wink into existence out of the back of your space-gloves.

“...wanting to be able to just punch the carbon out of an alien plant instead of using my mining laser, and a developer tells me to try it. It works.”
