1. Restart OBS
2. Start your stream/recording for about 30 seconds. Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc.
3. Stop your stream/recording.
4. Select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File. Copy the URL and paste the link here.

Hi guys, i'm having trouble with the chat box overlay (streaming with obs to youtube). The overlay does appear, but the chat messages are not showing up. Can somebody help? By the way, the chat messages work fine within the simluation in the overlay editor, just the overlay in obs somehow doesn't receive the chat messages.

It's likely either CPU overheating or your PSU is dying

Or an unstable overclock on the CPU

If your processor is overclocked, disable those and reset to default settings. If the problem goes away, great.

If it's not overclocked or the problem doesn't go away, monitor temperatures.

If it's not getting too hot, you're likely looking at a bad PSU

You could try doing it via a custom widget with event listener and then somehow make the bot post the message through the API. However, I don't know if the StreamElements API currently offers write messages potions for the bot API.

Hello! I have a slight issue that I'm hoping someone can help me with! I have different alert boxes with different images and sounds set up for different themed scenes. The issue is that when I switch to a different scene, the alert box set to that theme replays a bunch of alerts that already happened. Is there a way to prevent this?

For example, a bit alert and a follow alert happens on a Just Chatting screen. But when I switch to a gaming scene 10 minutes later that has a different alert box set to it, the bit and follow alert plays again. I'd like to prevent this from happening if possible!

Right now, whenever I click "Start Streaming" on OBS, it makes me go to Facebook to start the stream rather than giving me the option to "Go Live" in OBS. I think it might have something to do with Stream Elements not connecting to OBS, but I'm really not sure. I need some pc help. so I moved into my college dorm and I set my pc up and for everything turns on fine but I’m not getting a display on my monitor. No startup or anything. My fans sound super loud too. Like it’s weird. Everything is fine and on but no display. My monitor is fine and I checked 2 different hdmi cords. I’m thinking maybe it’s my water cooler? The fan attached to that is the only one that’s super loud. And my rgb settings for it have reset to the basic color so idk if that’s the issue. I tried taking the ram sticks out and cleaning them but that didn’t work either. And I have to hold my power button to turn my pc off which isn’t normal. If anyone can help that would be so nice and greatly appreciated

Install OBS without letting it run after completion.
Install SE.Live and run after finishing (No need to check the OBS option).

I currently run an RTX 3070 ti, and have no integrated graphics (Ryzen 7 5800x)

I was running 4 monitors, but I'm adding a second one to my sim pit, unfortunately the 3070 ti only supports 4 monitors out at once

So, I procured an RX560 for an unbeatable price (Essentially free), however, I'm wondering how much trouble there might be with running an AMD card alongside an nvidia, the 560 will just be powering my two tertiary monitors that run discord/web browsers, I'm not expecting any performance out of it other than that

but the driver strangeness is what I'm worried about

If anyone has ever ran a similar setup, of AMD/NVIDIA on the same system, and has any tips or experience to share, let me know :p

P.S.: If your tip is "Use a second nvidia card" or "Change processor to one with an IGP" then please provide one for the same price, otherwise, this is not an option.

The issue that you're going to run into is the limitation of PCIe lanes on your motherboard. Once you connect a 2nd GPU you essentially cut the performance of your primary card in half due to lack of available PCIe lanes on the second slot to the CPU.

Drivers are there to ensure hardware compatibility with software, etc, and if you're just driving basic displays on the AMD card, then your nvidia card should be sufficient to game and drive the rest.

I’d still recommend a capture card. Otherwise you’re attempting to decode NDI and then encode for stream.

Honestly I wouldn’t trust it and I’ve used it to do some really creative things. NDI is fine if you’re on an isolated network built for the sole purpose of NDI video. Consumer networks aren’t great for it. It’s fine if you don’t care about quality.

You may lose 1 or 2 fps at the just generally, from streaming on a single system

Did the SE OBS 28 update, now Elgato Streamdeck no longer works. I did their update too, restarted everything including full reboot. Now just get a "Waiting for OBS".

OBS 28 - Ok got my stream deck working. The Closed Captioning still does not work even after updating it. And lastly my Sound Alerts stopped after doing the update. Some can barely hear them but most hear nothing. I hear them fine, and on the SE page under my alerts the sound bar is between 80-100 and they still can't hear them.

Yes this is one I used. But let me ask this, with the old version I just inserted the .dll file into the OBSPlugin Folder. I didn't see where this version did an "installer" so I removed the old .dll file and insert this new one. But still tells me something is wrong.

If you're higher than 1080p id consider an AMD card unless you're doing flight sim or need CUDA

I have an RTX 3070 Ti and a Radeon RX560... The 560 is just to run two of my extra monitors since I have too l many for my 3070 ti to output to. My last stream I used the 560 to encode just to try it out... And I felt like the encoding performance was better.

I have an AMD Radeon RX 6700XT and a 5600G and since I technically have two GPUs I sometimes use the integrated GPU to encode since it's hardly used otherwise.

The thing is, the encoder chips shouldn't/aren't affected by running games since they're separate systems

You can Merge accounts to transfer overlays. Please note that the only benefits of merging the accounts is to quickly switch between them and copy overlay designs from one to the other. The two are otherwise still separate and do not share any data whatsoever.

They used an aio oder air cooler? For higher frequency an aio with 280mm is required. Better you use 360/420mm aio or build a custom loop with cpu and gpu for 0 temp problems

was wondering if this is the right place to ask. a friend of mine works on making customized chat codes for twitch. he has this one client who for some reason doesn't get the chat working properly — the sliding in animation basically doesn't happen on their end. he had the code tested on other people's end and it works perfectly fine (meaning, the sliding in animation happens when you get a new message). he's wondering what exactly went wrong if we should be looking in his code or maybe it might be a problem from SE/the client's end?

Okay, so I lost power halfway through a recording in obs, I want to use the first half of the video that isn’t corrupted and works fine, but as the later part of it is corrupted, it won’t let me import it into any editing software, so how would I go about using the uncorrupted part of the video? To add your overlays to OBS, add a new browser source in your scene. Paste your overlay URL in the browser source properties, set the dimensions to 1920x1080 (unless you changed them on the website) and check Shutdown source when not visible and Refresh browser when scene becomes active, as shown in this GIF: https://imgur.com/a/2JhJD0S

Images for alerts are generally uploaded to the overlay editor so you don't need them on your local computer.

When you add a delay to an already live stream it buffers your stream in ram for the duration of the delay, sending it after the delay countdown. However depending on the length of the delay added the stream will be blank for that amount of time. I just want to fill the void with something like a video

Hello, I'm new here and I hope someone can help me. I was able to set up my overlays and alerts etc without any problems. It all works without any problems. But as soon as I stream, the complete overlay including the alerts lags, and only when the GPU is running at its limit. It is encoded via 3080 RTX in OBS, but even if I let it be encoded by software, it stutters (Cpu runs at just 4%).

I ise a duo PC setup with NDI (but the sound is direct sound witch jack cable from the gaming pc) and the NDI source keeps building audio delay. About once an hour I need to reset it. If you have prime gaming, you can subscribe to a single channel for free, but you must manually renew it every month.

If you are already subscribed you will have to cancel your paid one.

The prime sub only goes for one month, so each month you have to go to that channel and click "subscribe" then check the "prime gaming" checkbox.
