It was working all the time I did nothing and suddenly there is no chat bot

I have a nested command that will play a sound alert plus display a text when I type the command !lurk

I’m trying to do a similar code to play a sound while displaying my win count… for my win count I am using ${getcount wins}

I tried the nested variables ${getcount wins ${redeem win}} and it’s not working. I’ve tried other variants as well such as ${redeem win ${getcount wins}}

What am I missing or doing wrong?

Hello, I'm a mod with full control access on a streamer's streamelements and ever since this announcement (#announcements message) our custom command that has " ${settitle "TITLE"} and ${setgame "Just Chatting"} in it causes the following response:
Stream is now offline! Title set to failed to update channel, please re-login | Category is now set to Just Chatting!
Then while trying to access the chatbot commands, I get the following prompt:
Accessing this area requires additional permissions from Twitch. (Image attached)
Clicking "Continue" on the prompt gives URL to authorize stream elements it seems but pushes me back into dashboard. But since I'm only a mod, this action should probably be taken by the streamer directly, correct? So I was wondering if the following workaround solution based on what I've seen in here is a good step in the right direction that the streamer should do:

• Logout and Re-login to streamelements directly (https://streamelements.com/)
• Open Chatbot > Chatbot Commands
• "Accessing this area requires additional permissions from Twitch." prompt will appear, click Continue
• Re-authorize StreamElements to have access.
• Part with bot then make bot Join Channel again
• Unmod and mod streamelements on stream

Can anyone confirm this possible fix for this issue? Thank you. Feel free to @ me at any time.

Streamelement doesn't want to launch anymore. When I click on it, the window does not appear and it opens for 2 seconds and then closes.

I have uninstalled obs/streamelement and when I install obs and launch it everything is fine and when I download streamelement, nothing launches anymore.

good afternoon, I encountered a problem while I was creating a custom command. I put subscriber as "user level" and in the advanced options "user level" private message; so in simple terms I want only subs to be able to type that command but putting it in a private message, I have no idea where the latter can send it. No, in case you want to use in that way, look for “keywords” in the command list. Unfortunately, there is no way to set new keywords using “!cmd”, it is only set from dashboard.

Try to remove the bot from the channel going to dashboard > Part Channel and then after some seconds, click on Join Channel.
From there, the bot will start reading the chat again and maybe will be counting the loyalty points.

In case that doesn’t help, you can open a ticket with the support typing !ticket and the issue right after the command.

Hello, I need help with the stream store of streamelements, I added a video to the stream store, stream incentives -> then as in the image I put set alert asset, but when redeeming a sound, 2 sounds are heard, and review overlays and there is none repeated, and the command to activate the sound does not look like the other, I tried to sign out of StreamElements and log in again,Disconnect the Twitch account from the obs and reconnect, I have also deleted the sound and the command that triggered the other sound even recreate the same sound but the same thing continues to happen to me. Any way to add the video to the stream store?

If you mean in the chatbot, ${random.pick} variable might do what you want. ie: if you were to have the bot say ${random.pick '1' 'two' 'free bee'}, each time it gives that response, one of the words/phrases within ' marks would be selected at random.

Of course, there is a limit to how much text you can fit in one command, so it might be insufficient if you want a long list of responses.

There is an issue for a fellow streamer who is being bombarded with donations with unwanted messages from a person who has been banned and blocked from their channel.

I believe the only way to prevent tip spam at the current time is to enable manual tip moderation in your tipping settings. I will inquire if there is additional information, but if they are ban dodging then it does indeed make it difficult to enforce an automated restriction, and PayPal is outside the scope of control within streamelements as well.

If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

Hello and sorry if this has been asked several times but, I've been trying to figure out why the / timeout command doesn't seem to want to work while the stream is active. I can get a successful response off stream but not during live. I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting StreamElements unmodding and remodding StreamElements and recreating the commands but so far nothing. Is there a solution or is this still an ongoing issue?

I have a question related to the ALERTS notifications. For a last 10 days of so, I cannot hear any alerts from notifications (when somebody has followed, subscribed, donated, etc.).

Even though I did not change anything (except the option of the Spam filters --> Minimum) and my alerts are muted. I thought it was due to the alerts not being the first on the list at the scene at OBS, but even after I put them at the top of the list - nothing changed.

By the way - I updated the last version of SE.LIVE 🙂

What can be the cause of the alerts problems and how to fix it? Any help?

The crossed bell means the alert will display, but with no sound.

!kappagen will work for you. It is a default command, check if you have it enabled. You can also use !kappagen emoteName if you want a specific emote.
You also have to add an alert widget on your overlay

/timeout is a Twitch command, not SE. But if you created a command to run /timeout, check if the option "Both" is checked in "Enable command when stream is" from "Advanced settings" for that command.

You can set how many emotes you want. If you want just one emote, configure the widget to show only one emote in "EMOTESPLOSIONS" tab

Stream elements loyalty points does not work anymore. It has been 2 days since my viewers doesn't earn a single loyalty points. I obviously have it enabled, but not a single viewer earn any Loyalty Points even after watching for hours.

Hello everyone.
There is still a bug with the chatbot cooldown. I have set the user cooldown to 5 and the global cooldown to 0 for all commands. In the chat, however, only one person can use the command and then it takes a long time until someone can use the command again. as if a global cooldown of several seconds was set.
I have already removed the bot and added it again and also set the cooldown differently and created a completely new command, unfortunately nothing helped. And it's not just the case with one streamer, but at least 2 where I'm a mod.
Is this issue known, if yes, is there a solution?
If not, it would be nice if someone could take a look.

There are a few solutions you can try. You can resign from some quality and reduce the video resolution output to 1280x720 and/or you can try to change the Video bitrate and/or you can change the Encoder to Hardware with a faster Encoder Preset.

I am trying to get back into streaming. Upon installing SE.Live I am having trouble logging into the correct twitch account. StreamElements>Stream Setup>Edit Widgets Data opens a pop up browser that allows me to choose Twitch as the login method but it logs into an old twitch account. I am not logged into that Twitch account anywhere on my PC. Any ideas?

Hey, I've got a slight problem with my network while streaming. I have on occasion 5-7Mbps upload speed here which isn't great but twitch only ever recieves a bitrate of 500-1600kbps and my stream quality suffers. I know my game doesn't take the other 4-5Mb/s upload speed as it's offline so what can I do network wise to prioritize my OBS so my bitrate doesn't suffer so much.

Things of note: Not a hardware issue 5900x 3080ti 64gb of ram etc, it's been proven a network thing as on a different network with 20mbps upload it has no issues.
also I use CBR NVENC 6000 bitrate.

I experienced the same problem with the default and custom commands. I am aware, that there is still some problem with the chatbot, but maybe this error is not known. There is a 30-45 seconds of cooldown on every commands regardless of the cooldown set for a command.

I have been inactive on twitch for more then one year. Now I am back and some things aren't working properly.

My SE dashboard isn't updating and Alerts don't trigger when something happens in my stream on twitch.

For example when someone subscribes to my channel, my alerts don't trigger and my dashboard isn't updated. Same thing with follows/bits etc. If I manually trigger a fake event in overlay editor, it does work. Rotating informational widgets also don't update to recent activities. So it feels like SE is not getting new information, or maybe doesn't have acces to it. My chat source does work fine although I do get a 404 error when I want to check chatstats.

I tried troubleshooting myself but I can't find an answer. So it would really help out if someone has a fix for me.

Hello, I can't use the custom name bot, I login to the bot account via the streamelements activity feed in OBS but then the bot name isn't there to select, tried many times and it didn't work.

Hello I was directed here after reading the article about media requests. I have media requests setup and ready to go but one thing I don’t like is that it plays other alerts while the media is going (i.e someone subscribes after all star has been requested it’ll play the alert over all star)

Audio issue:

I have done no audio setting changes before having this audio issue occur.

-Audio will intermittently become very crackly on stream
-I don't hear the scuffed audio, everything sounds normal through my headphones
-While audio is being all weird and crackly, the audio mixer in obs looks perfectly normal (no weird spikes or cuts in it)

If anyone here is good with audio please help its pretty bad. Also theres no music in vod with split audio but it affects music aswell.

ok, I had to recheck but it is not possible if you haven't received an official permission by SE to do so. If you are a programmer / web dev you can code all the things you want to do and provide all the individual snippets (HMTL, CSS, JS & fields) to people and they can import those into the Overlay Creator. There are a handful of browser sources that are not properly showing up in OBS. We've refreshed the cache, relinked all the links, but still it's not working. The strange part, is that it works properly on one PC, but not on another. The placeholder images for the browser sources are just the frontpage of SE.

I'm trying to figure out why as of yesterday I'm getting around 80% late packets when I run Twitch streams through OBS. How can I isolate what's going on? It gets worse when I open a steam game while running stream on OBS. I'm confident it's not my internet speeds, but suspicious it might be a bandwidth issue.

I was trying to create a new account with the twitch channel (the previous one to create this one because I recently changed my username on twitch and had the same error while closing the account) I tried via private browser and gives the same error. I ended up creating an account with Youtube to see if it would give the same error and it ended up working, when I try to connect with Twitch the same error appears.

hey! so i have a category set up for my streamelements sound alerts to 15 seconds (for every sound), but accidentally put two of them in "15 days" not seconds.. so now all my sound alerts say theres a cooldown even though i fixed the two to be 15 seconds. Will I have to reupload every sound or something? (I have 83 😭 )

ok I'm having a couple issues. First issue is that my shoutout command doesn't work properly at the moment. Whenever I try to shout someone out by typing !so name it just posts my channel instead of the channel I'm trying to shout out. Haven't changed the command at all, so no clue what's going on.

Second issue I'm having(and have had since setting up the bot), is that I can't set a custom bot name. I have SElive on my OBS, but whenever I change the name to either use my name or a bot account that I created for this setup, the bot stops being responsive. I've tried just about every troubleshooting step I could find through googling and whatnot, but nothing works. And yes, I'm on the most current version and no I cannot see any way to revert to a previous version(a suggestion that was made previously in helpdesk-selive to fix the issue). Literally at my wit's end with trying to change the name if I'm being honest

P.S. I do have "!so" set as a command alias

if you're talking about my situation, I have the bot, and I have selive set up in OBS. I have my account and my extra twitch bot account connected as well, but whenever I select anything besides the default name for sebot it just refuses to post to chat.

streamelements and my twitch bot are both modded in my channel as well. I've tried kicking/re-inviting the chatbot, logging out, logging back in, uninstall/re-install of obs and selive, even unmod/remod. Nothing seems to work. It seems that SE is not reading the whole part of the game title, and just fill it automatically after it finds a game which name fits to the first few letters of the name you used.

There is the same problem with "Minecraft" for example.

Usually "game" or 'game' helps, but not always, sometimes you need to change the order of words. For a while to change the game to F1 22 you had to use !setgame 22 F1

If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

Hello, my streamelements it's not recognizing subscribers to redeem items, even if the user is a subscriber, it shows the error "Item is subscribers only" i've already said to the users log-out/log-in in streamelements, i've already as well renewed my token and authenticated from zero to streamelements again, and nothing work

And i have already seen people telling the same error here in helpdesk and none of the "login/logout" or "renew the token" worked for me.

Hi all 🙂 I have a "subscriber goal" counter widget in my overlays, but it doesn't seem to update or reset. I currently have 4 subs but its just accumulating upwards? Any tips on how to get it to accurately display the current number of subs?

1. Channel name (old and new if changed recently)
2. your account ID found at the top of this page: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/channels This ID is public info and safe to share here.

It depends if you have your goal on every overlay.

For the streamer I mod for, I just made a separate overlay "goal" and she added it separatelly to her OBS. And now it is enough to do manual steps only on this one.

They bonked your stats, so if the stats are not updating it is most likely making sure you are logged in, the bot is in your channel and is a moderator

If you’re still having issue you can email [e-mail] and create a support ticket

It's been a while since I streamed but I can't find the stream info dock in obs live to do my stream info before starting, is the info done outside OBS now?

Then I would suggest going into your OBS settings, deleting your stream key and clicking the button "Connect to Twitch"

You should no longer be using a stream key. OBS supports authentication to Twitch directly, which enables the Stream Information dock. The stream key actually limits the functionality of OBS now.
