you get a trial of firefly if you create a free adobe account, if you buy a subscription, different subscriptions have different generative credits that reset every month, the date of the month they reset depends on the date you signed up on https://helpx.adobe.com/firefly/using/generative-credits-faq.html, although those credits don't take effect until January 2024, and if you do run out of credits as a paid subscriber you can still generate at a slower speed until your credits reset. I'm not sure what you mean by the same one that is in photoshop, firefly image 2 is available for text to image currently, and firefly image 1 is the model used elsewhere (photoshop, express, generative fill on the web, ect... )

the face will be changed by firefly, you could also try to add the face in generate fill and fill the space around with the character, if you use the web you can upload the face in an image with the desired aspect ratio. with photoshop you can just expand the image using GenFill. (keep in mind firefly is generally not good at people, so results may vary)

I have found that sometimes you have to add additional terms to apply words like "circular" to, so it does not think that applies to the whole image. Try something like: "an oasis with circular pond of water in a desert , cartoon simple shapes"

The other option is to leave out "circular" and then take the image to generative fill and use "circular oasis" after selectiong a circle.

Hey All! New to the channel and excited to test out firefly. I'm trying to figure out two things:

1. Is it possible to upload a photo to firefly and start making edits on it or does everything need to be text to image?

2. If I am able to upload a photo, I'm trying to change the angle of the head. I have a photo of a man giving a toast almost directly into the camera. I'd like to have his head and gaze up and to the right as if toasting to the sky. Is this something anyone has experience with and could help me?

As for your second question, your best bet for changing the angle of a persons head would be to use Photoshop, as generative fill in Firefly on the web is for adding or removing objects using prompts.

@mortal widget Sorry I can't think of any right now, and your second question is more suited to the Photoshop server. One option would be to remove the persons head using the remove tool, and if possible replace it with one form another picture of the person with an angle similar to the one one you would prefer, then use the healing and clone tools to make the joint as seamless as possible, followed by using masks and adjustment layers to match lighting conditions. p.s. this is the second time I have written this out as the first time when I added a link the bot auto-modded a mod lol

I just noticed that Adobe Photoshop Elements has an image extend feature (in the 2024 version). However, it does not seem to do as good of a job as photoshop on the same images.

My sample size is small, but each image I tried had similar results. I am curious as to what factor makes this a difference (for example, run time is limited for Pe).

No. If the cars were all photographed in the same way that the wheels are in approximately the same place, then this can be done with actions in Photoshop. There is no AI that would automatically recognize an area that has not been previously defined without prior input and could automatically draw a frame around it or something similar. As a designer/Creative you still have to do that yourself.

@umbral drift probably would be better to generate the graduation cap separately in illustrator using style match and text to vector if you have illustrator. Style matchvin text to image will create a similar style but regenerate the image. It does not keep the original and add to it.

hello.. I've been using midjourney for about 6 months now and just started playing with Firefly. I'm a photoshop digital artist and photographer and teach photoshop painting, compositing and advance photoshop. I use the AI tools to generate base images to paint or composite with. HERE IS MY QUESTION: In midjourney I can use the explorer search to get a set of images as starter images and then review those prompts. I select words from various images in explorer to help me build my prompt which I then put into my discord server to generate my images. CAN YOU SEARCH THE GALLERY ON FIREFLY to get starter images. I can not find any place to bring up a set of images already in the gallery to review other people's prompts to help begin my prompt building. Am I missing something or is Adobe not letting you search the Firefly gallery?

When I save the generated images to my Adobe library, the prompt words are saved, BUT, none of the styles or photo settings are there. WHERE are all the settings that I used to really create the image that I generated?

Currently when you add to your CC library you will get the image and the prompt that comes along in file name, styles and reference won't. You get them saved by adding them to favorites or by storing a link.

So we can built additional assets using the same styles and settings with different prompts to build a series of similar images. Seems like everything is just a one-off...

I have also used it in workshops I teach where artificial intelligence is discussed. I have not used it in client deliverables yet, with one exception: I have used image extend in Photoshop to make an image fit where it needed to fit.

As for the issue at hand, it is a bug in my mind that it makes an "almost" repeating pattern... does it do this on purpose then? So that I have to go in and use photoshop or illustrator to fix it? Why do you assume I'm not able to use photoshop or illustrator? I have used them for years and made my own patterns. As for "getting left behind," AI image generation will do that whether I like it or not.

The need to edit Generative AI images is almost universal among all the generative tools; they are just not yet at the point where they always generate flawless images.

I'm not sure what part of my post is bothering you? I mean, not one image was "flawless" in fact and many were outright wrong. Is it a problem that I am reporting this? It's simply not working well and I would have thought Adobe would want to work at least as well as Midjourney which can, sometimes, make a repeating pattern that properly repeats.

AI makes mistakes; that's a given. You can either keep trying to regenerate until you get one without mistakes or open the image in your favorite editing software and correct those errors.

My point was that it NEVER makes a correct pattern. Not once after at least 100 generations. And the error was so subtle, I didn't notice it at first and thought to use the pattern as is. At least the ones where it is very wrong, I don't make that mistake.

This is the prompt I used and it did not work ever... even with many changes to the prompt. "A seamless repeating tileable pattern; cute hyper realistic looking cartoon sloths in a jungle background; for printing on fabric, wallpaper and other packaging and textiles"

I tried it with and without the word tileable. I tried using the word tile. I tried repeating the prompts in the prompt. I said it was important that it be seamless and repeating pattern where the edges line up top, bottom, and on the sides.

None of these things worked for me.

@potent jetty I think Shawn was simply suggesting that if you want an immediate solution, taking a pattern tile that's pretty close into photoshop and fixing the places where it doesn't repeat perfectly would be faster. While text to image can be used to generate patterns, it's not a pattern generating tool specifically. You can suggest a pattern generating tool in #1087561412269854840 to use on the web, or feel free to start a post in #1174140002695905451 to troubleshoot. A post there will be easier to track and follow any suggestions, than loose in the text chat, and I imagine this will require a bit more brainstorming about what works or don't work.

I have either in this discord read or via streams heard that the information embedded in the generated images could not be removed so it would always be possible to identify the image as generated or manipulated with an Adobe tool.

Have I misunderstood that?

Because I made a little test today. I generated an image in Firefly. Downloaded it. Then uploaded it on the CAI site to check it. And it was correctly identified as generated by Firefly.

Then I uploaded it to Facebook, saved it as image from FB, then uploaded that file to the CAI site. Now it was not identified as generated by Firefly. So that makes me conclude that the CAI information is only embedded as metadata in the file which social meadia like Facebok consequently removes. I really thought this was more cleverly enginered.

So I just tried with another image. One that was generated 30-10-2023. Once it has been uploaded to FB and saved from there it is not recognised. Also a screenshot from FB is not recognised. The original image is correctly recognised.

Hi, i'm sorry if this is the wrong topic for this channel but i'm really struggling to find a solution - is there any AI that i could use to generate background for my existing photographs or mock ups of packaging? Lets say i have a package mockup image on white background, and i want the ai to generate it into a scene and blend the lighting etc. Photoshop general fill is not so good yet.... and all other AI image generators tend to change the uploaded image so my packaging design get's destroyd in the process. The remaining 6% is people posting about other things. It's mostly dead because Firefly is a pretty easy to understand and use tool and people don't tend to have a lot of questions about it

midjourney for a long time (maybe even still? i haven't used it in a while) required the discord to generate images

I'd guess a lot of the people here joined the discord hoping that there would be more information and updates about firefly. That hasn't been too much the case, but they haven't left because it might be the case in the future

midjourney was tied to discord from day 1, firefly is entirely unrelated to discord in its usage
