Also being that so much is changing, there is always a chance that an update may break old saves, so we recommend backing up saves regularly that you care about. As this would be something that could be the end of the world for players.

We will do our best to avoid this, and it's not something we're planning intentionally we cannot guarantee this will "never happen" either since there are a lot of unknown variables in the future.

I just wanted to say... I saw some amethyst in a cliffside...Dug into it, & within a few picks? broke into an amethyst geode about fifteen feet across at its widest... I set down a n altar outside, & built a sitting room & reading chair in it with a fireplace... Because...I would.. You guys are knocking this game out of the park. I also doubt that the NPCs would be able to destroy stuff though.

in all fairness. destroying our bases by mobs feels kind if a longshot goal for them considering how long we already had to hammer on stuff to get through certain blocks... kinda doubt normal mobs could do much more than a dent 😅

since we're still on this my own vision would be a dedicated type of altar that's basically a fortress, and after X days or when you trigger it yourself (both versions work), you get attacked by a large group of enemies. This way you can live out your best Orcs Must Die fantasy while not endangering the ivory towers and quaint villages and hobbit holes you've built

but again that's not the direction "base raid islands" is taking as a feature so who knows how that'll turn out

The only touble you might run into would be if your base location gets updated terrain. It won't impact your altar, but the areas at the edges might get all funky because the terrain wouldn't line up any more.

Managing Saves

Transferring Saves:

  • Files can be renamed to move them between slots.

Rolling Back to an Older Save:

  • Open the -index file in a text editor.
  • Find the line "latest": X (where X is a number from 0-9).
  • Change it to the desired backup index and save the file.

Additional Notes

  • The -info file contains metadata (like world name) but is not needed for servers.
  • Each player generates their own -info files when creating a world.
  • The latest world save files are what should be transferred.
    Ensure you copy all required files when sharing a save. For servers, only Slot 1 is used.

Managing Saves

Transferring Saves:

  • This must be done whilst the game is closed.
  • To share a save, copy the latest world save I.E (3ad85aea-7).
  • Dedicated servers only use Slot 1. Rename a save file to match Slot 1 if needed.
  • Files can be renamed to move them between slots.

Rolling Back to an Older Save:

  • Open the -index file in a text editor.
  • Find the line "latest": X (where X is a number from 0-9).
  • Change it to the desired backup index and save the file.

Additional Notes

  • The -info file contains metadata (like world name) but is not needed for servers.
  • Each player generates their own -info files when creating a world.
  • The latest world save files are what should be transferred.
    Ensure you copy all required files when sharing a save. For servers, only Slot 1 is used.

Cloud Save (Default):
 Open the folder where Steam is installed (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam). You can find the path from your Steam client menu under Steam > Settings > Storage.

Local Save (Cloud Save Disabled):

that's all i do though. just delete the newest dates back to the time you want.

not that i reset worlds often but when I upload a new file of the armory I always just share the most recent time stamp.

It saves every 10 minuites. if you played a certain amount of time after it happened they may not be there....unless I misunderstood the save function

there are ten saves, and it's ya, 10-15 minutes.

once it hits all 10 the oldest ones are saved over.
