I use fire ball for that
with no limitation on number or mana, I am free to use them
yes, this one smashes the metal barrels in two hits, never runs out, it quick, and does not wear out as I can just fix it by hitting some mobs
it is the perfect open container tool
mana leach and regen are just too good in my opinion

I have a few hundred of those, but I am just looking for crafting stuff at the moment, and carrying on ly the lowest ammo that I have scronged, the wands and swords do most of the work, I have them set to regen on kills and extend time in the shord with kills

level 22 with a bow level 12 is strange
yeah, like I said I found it in a Hollow Halls chest and it has the fast draw and the increased range .. I have other bows my level, but I like this one the best
I had a staff called mirage that was pretty good for me
but I switched when I got my current one

Back before even the hollow halls, there was a ring that took away 20 mana but gave you 20 mana regen or something and it was WAY beter than it is now, I used the poison attack but then it all got nerfed to the ground
The game is still in early access so expect many things to change as things move forward. Just adapt to the changes. They probably had a reason for whatever changes they did, which is likely a issue when tha item is combined with something else.
the sad thing is the acid magic that is just trash now, don't get me wrong, it was way too OP but now it is slow and useless
Well I am sure there will be a LOT of tweaking and reblaancing as the time goes. I am fine with that, it is all a part of showing us that the devs are active and working hard to make a fully comp[lete game and not have any issues with OP stuff that will break the game somehow

How am I supposed to be able to get up to the frost parts? Even with the pocket warmer, I die in less than 4 minutes. And I cant craft any gear that gives warmth cause it all requires stuff you get from the cold place π

sadly Enshrouded doesn't have a realistic "temperature" system.
it's just "Are you standing in freezing zone? freeze timer"
"are you standing on lava? burning damage"

I actually am a little disappointed the desert isn't "hot"
we can run around in full plate or dark black leather coats in the desert... no problem, and yet going to the mountains... going naked or in full Kindlewastes armor, no changes, the only thing the game cares about is the specific "warm padded" armor. or armor with a specific "frost time" stat on it
LOL I know, right..? I remember way back when I first hit the snowy zone and there I was dropping a campfire only to have nothing practical happen.

Just like 2h weapons. Almost as bad as trying to use a staff in combat (which also am frustrated with). I'm running thru again to see about the 2h mechanics across the spectrum, and I absolutely have to also carry a shield and 1h weapon if I want to survive getting mobbed. Kind of a bummer, really.
But don't get me wrong...I love this place. I'm just hoping for some more tweaks as things just aren't quite ready still.
As a 2H main - the jump slam is my go to attack for getting mobbed
How do I know which direction a Yak will feed from when feeding from a bowl?
Never had an issue getting mobbed with 2H weapons, everything dies in 2-3 hits
In theory, the only thing in the cold places you need to get the gear is the blast furnace. Everything else should be in low level areas of the summit stock up on heaters and the foods you can make and run like a DOG up to the forge. If you avoid fighting and exploring, you can make it and once at the forge, it will warm you.
you can also open the chest nearby the ancient spire and hope for a armor drop from it

oh uh, literally two chests in the ancient spire up there, one at the top, one at the bottom

Just seems like I'm constantly being interrupted. It was the worst in the HH's where everything at level aggro's if 1 mob does.
If you're doing HH solo you might just need to go in over leveled honestly, that's what me and my duo had to do
Yeah...I was pretty much at/just above on all of them. I was alright if I swapped to 1h/shield if it was a crazy mob. For the most part all weapons were Epic/Legendary and within a few levels at or below plus various gems. It's my 4th time thru since initial release...I just never tried the 2h as a full time build. There are spots in the level ranges that have more difficulty 2h than 1h. I have this one at 31 atm (in Albaneve). It would be nice if there wasn't a need at all to use 1h...even at the very beginning. A big club would do to start, or something. And the skill thing is also wonky for single/specific weapon builds as the pathways to get to core necessities are woven into the various other weapon types. I think our core attributes should be addressed outside of the skill tree. More like you get 1 pt to put into STR/CON/DEX/etc. each level/Root or something, rather than how it is atm.
But again...One of my most favorite ideas/properties in a long time. Easy to spend hours getting lost in builds or looking for things you hadn't seen before. I'm just offering criticism/concepts/ideas towards the good of it, not in any real way discouragement. We all are at different levels in life and gaming, so there's always going to be fellow Shrouds(wo)men able to do better or worse at any given challenge.

It's a pretty widespread opinion that 2H melee should have some type of super armor on swings because they are slower. I kind of agree, but 2H is meant to be slow because it hits hard. I also carry a 1H+Shield on me, but I try really hard not to use it
the heavy attacks have super armour/poise against regular mob attacks but the attack animation is pretty single target orientated, with super armour implented tho they might expand its use after feedback
I don't even use the heavy attacks tbh, the endlag makes them almost completely useless

yeah the attack chaining of heavy into light on greatsword is a bit off
the change to battle heal passive to being % of max HP per crit instead of damage % also hurts the 2h barb hit trading fantasy
leech is notoriously hard to balance in games though tbh
||Here's some more detailed information about the treasure hunt I do:
The red numbers are my main run. Yellow are optional. Of course everything is important if it's treasure hunt but the yellow ones are places where it's kind of difficult to go or it takes much time to get in and get out. Make sure you have at least 50-60 bombs and 15-20 lock-picks for each run.
Main line (Red):
- A Gold chest in the open. Guarded by a banshee and 2-3 minions.
- A Gold chest behind the throne in the throne room.
- A Silver chest located in the next room - just in front of the throne room. Needs lock-picking.
- A Silver chest in the tower. Use the trampoline flower to start climbing. Look for the iron grate outside on the balcony when you're halfway up.
- A Golden chest in the king's bedroom. From the tower, glide down to the upper level of the castle and unlock the double door. Enter the room with the wasp and turn around. Look up and use the hook to pull yourself up.
- A Silver chest. Go out of the double door after the golden chest and turn left. Go into the building and go to the top floor. Find the room that has open doors (end of the corridor). Enter the room and look up. Pull yourself up and open the wooden secret door.
- A Silver chest. Go down the stairs into the garden (beware of the blue flowers). Go into the garden shed, go up the stairs. Step on the barrels and jump one more time. Chest is at the top, under the roof.
- A Silver chest. Fly down from the castle onto the house that has a NON-broken roof. Use 1 bomb to break the edge of the roof and fall down. Look around, the chest should be close to you.
- A Silver chest. After taking the first chest at that same house, kill the ranged guard, the boss and the two dogs that are on the way. Run around the same house to find the silver chest - it's in a secluded space behind bushes. Lock-picking required.
- A Silver chest. Throw 1 bomb on the ground at that place and fall down. It's next to the boss fight.||
|| 11. A Golden chest. Again, throw 4-5 bombs on the ground until you fall into the lower levels near the magma. Chest always drops Flaming gauntlets. Sometimes has 1 additional item.
12. A Golden chest. In the same village, go to the other house which already has its roof broken. Fall down the roof and search for a broken hole in the ground. This chest always drops Golden War Hero axe. Sometimes has 1 additional item.
13. A Silver chest. Go outside the same house where the big chains are. Look for holes on the ground (with a lot of mud around). Fall through the hole where you can see a repair anvil and then a huge clay jug below. Search for a secret stone door on the wall next to the jug.
14. A Golden chest. Fly to the next village and go through the big house's broken roof. Open the locked door.
15. A Silver chest behind a locked door of the same house, next to the fireplace.
16. Another Silver chest in the basement. These two silver chests contain a cosmetic set and sometimes will drop an additional item.
17. A Golden chest. Fly to the Drak village and run up the bamboo stairs. Chest is on top. Boss fight is optional.
18. A Golden chest and a Silver chest (red building blocks). Throw a bomb next to the big metal door, then run around it. The golden chest is behind the rubble on the wall.
19. Boss fight. Make sure you kill the caster and the ranged monster first. The boss can drop items (weapons and armours) up to level 54 of any rarity.
20. A Golden chest. Kill the ranged and the melee monster, then throw 13 bombs at the door (or use the mining pick). ||
||Here's information about the other chests which I consider a bit optional because they require more time to get.
The additional chests (Yellow):
- A Silver chest in the tower.
- A Silver chest in one of the houses, behind a stone secret door (requires lock-picking).
- A Golden chest underground. After the silver chest in the house, continue down the stairs and follow the corridor.
- A Silver chest in a spider cave. Very accessible, located beneath the cliff.
- A Silver chest located in the stone building (small tower). Climb up the ladder inside or just throw a bomb to break a wall and get in.
- A Silver chest in a grave.
- A Golden chest located deep underneath. Can walk down the stairs or use bombs to reach the place. Find the stone secret door. behind barrels. Use bombs or mining pick to remove the stone rubble on the wall in front of the door as you enter it. There's also a boss fight (Wraith) guarding the nearby shroud root.
8, 9, 10, 11, 12. Two Golden and three Silver chests. Located in the skeleton tomb. The two big golden stone chests are underwater. Use wisp if Light to be able to see in the dark, also bring some swimming equipment for more air. Two silver chest are hidden behind secret doors in the corridors (not too hard to find). One silver chest is positioned visibly underwater - you cannot miss it but beware of the sawblades. - A Silver chest located under a small house . Requires lock-picking to enter/leave the basement.
- A Golden chest underground. Use 14-15 bombs to fall down. Careful because there are lots of monsters everywhere.||

About the both missing lore notes in the wiki. "Albaneve Summits" and "Ancients and the Flame". I miss this pages too. But 1) Can we be sure that this lore note exists in the game? Nothing in the changelog. 2)If they are exists, I assume they must be at a new location, or not?
I'm guessing they're in the game, somewhere. I think no one has found them yet. Unless they're bugged, that's been known to happen.

What you think, they are at a new location or at an existing location? For example, the lore note for albaneve summit. In one of the existing balefire castles or in a new tend or something else.
I assume... that there's a frozen hollow hall being worked on out of bounds, and has the lore notes in it, but because it's not finished we can't teleport to it yet

I'm on a new character and I'm not up to Albaneves yet. Once I get there I'll be having a good look for it.

I love the veilwater ost, it's so good
visit all locations in Albaneve again and search for this one lore note, weeks or months? There must be a better way. It would be at least a little bit easier if the note is in a new structure or building, like the lore note before the hollow hall.
it's safe to assume the lore notes are out of bounds, there's a lot of new structures out of bounds
didnt find the lore page over at alchemist ancient vault... not at ground level, not at above floor, not at basement lava room and not at adjacent camp... i did find lot chests in hidden walls and such π
What the HELL is wrong with Yaks?
4 seconds after I place one, it goes to sleep, then it wakes up and is hungry and starts running around like crazy before getting stuck in a wall... I've rebuild my Yak enclosure 4 times and still the same thing....
yaks are the Enshrouded version of Columbia's doped hippos
How am I supposed to EVER get wool if the animals supposed to give it is just getting stuck and never eating... Never producing wool
make sure beds & feeders are well away from the walls.

the yaks are a pain in the butt at the moment, I've tried so many things to avoid them getting stuck
even made them an island without walls
but then they get stuck on the feeder π₯Ή
It seems like anything user-placed can be a candidate for them to hang up on. I had a whole fancy outdoor pen built on this new run, and after taking every single thing apart and leaving the roof floating they still get stuck on the dang food dish.! lol But, yeah...they'd get stuck on the fences, the posts, I had to re-level the ground several times. Crazy.
Any yes...seems to only be the yaks atm.

I just put 4 of them in a hole, did something else in the meantime and after I got enough wool for 1 piece I started exploring. and druing that thye still produced some wool all be it slow because they refuse to eat and find their bed., there are also foods that give some frost resistance so you can explore longer. and if all else fails, just go find and kill them they drop 1-2 wool if you do. which is more than the 0 they produce normally
I made a last desparate attempt... If I put a 2-tall "railing" around the WHOLE inside of the room, they have not gotten stuck since. So it seems to be their head that has a mismatched collision box π

@jade owl just a lil bit more of a spoiler, but the perimeter is pretty much no longer an option, even for like a hit and run type thing. He just resets after once or twice and then your left dealing with all the adds. I tried every possible variant of that fight that I've seen people discuss. At level it's just insane. lol (I have to laugh at it now, since I'm stuck here until something changes. Guess I'll work on the Peak Retreat in the meantime. π

also weird as heck that the really easy bosses, and the dragon boss, have the same comfort when their heads are hung up

It feels less like a progression boss now, and more like a secondary "If you think you're brave/skilled enough" alternate boss, for like a very special reward, or something.
Yep. Even the cheesiest approach was no small effort in resources and such. Plus you had the adds to deal with. He'd still punch at you, too. It wasn't a sure thing until you'd done it a good few times and had it down.
I liked it, that boss kicked my teeth in repeatedly... but I got better at it, and now it's-

The amount is negotiable, as far as I'm concerned.
You could convince me that 20% is awesome enough.
But if it's just against the Fell, it makes zero sense.

honestly... Elixir should change to:
20%/25%/30% ALL damage increase
but also
-10%/15%/20% shroud time
and ALSO
-5%/10% shroud ARMOR (make us weaker to shroud hits, glass cannon situation)
maybe being the flameborn weakens the effect of the \elixir?
makes sense that being flameborn reduces the danger of the shroud, that same protection reduces the effect of the elixir

short answer is that the summit + veilwater halls arent implemented yet so everything is very placeholdery atm

we can guess the summits HH should be coming soonish since the entrance was changed last patch and some un-finished lore notes were added
yeah, the ice and snow weren't there before as well as in front of the entrance
maybe the Abaneve HH have a map problem too? If the HH is a big cave in a mountain, the Albaneve HH would be in the red shroud.

The hophares dont give products aside from loot on death. I just have mine around to be cute. I get lean meat elsewhere
an animal that give meat and still alive... strange concept.
the tamed animals won't give meat as a product. the only way to get meat is to kill or loot it from other mobs that may carry it as loot.
if I need lean meat I kill rats
not sure I could murder the bunnies for it though

I personally have two big hopes for a DLC/expansion - I would love an ocean-themed expansion that gives us boats (maybe not full ships) and takes us to the Drak archipelago mentioned in some lore notes, and I want an expansion that adds mounts and takes us further east to the Lunar Trader's homeland - maybe this land is more open and less vertical than Embervale, making horses and mounts a viable mode of transport

So I think there's a "gate" behind each of these, just as there is at the volcano
And they all take us to different, possibly optional, "extra" sky islands
I think there'll be a main one under the large sky island for the sake of having a somewhat streamlined main quest, but that's all just a theory
those are mostly likely placeholders for something like halls? Or other npc or items? More sanctums ? I mean your idea can be as true as mine XD we will have to wait

the funny thing is that with these updates, the city got ||the house in which the villager is, the alchemist assistant||
and also the ||unique weapon, the green sword of the new year||
so I never got either of these until the summit which is when my files of the game got corrupted
there was no loot but lore there before, back when I started playing the game
it's later on they added the stuff in there
I remember these times of the game as the golden age of acidic magic

You could still cheese it by deconstructing existing blocks (though I guess they could change it by having different versions for the player or something) certainly the ancient gold brick block would be expensive

nope
"go home/get out of the cold area" is the only option
checkpoints, fireplaces, shelters, torches... they can extend your time by a little bit, but they don't reset it or make the timer go back up, it's always ticking down

See, this already suggests to me this is not a good fight, when the game has to tell you how to beat the boss
feel like flame level 8 should just make you immune to frost instead of flame altar area providing immunity, once you have it you can cheese frost timer by slapping down temp altars and it would remove the need for frost resist on gear after summits gear

This is one thing I don't like about Albaneve's. I'm past the area but if I wanna go back to explore anything I need to swap out my armour for "older" armour just to survive the cold..
yeah i can understand the mechanic while your conquering the biome etc but once you have surpassed it the friction should be reduced
i do appreciate they added frost resist to half the level 40 gear (elder etc sets) but what then for future sets? there has to be a frost resist option or we are back to downsizing
The thing too is that the end to that area really leaves no margain for error. I ended up just running past a bunch of combat encounters on the off-chance there'd be some source of warmth ahead, like that one forge in the region, but bafflingly there wasn't
it feels rough, its very similar to shroud timer but theres multiple options for extending shroud timer outside of just food and gear
Right, but at the same time, it's like... throw us a bone. We have real tanky enemy encounters on the way to a boss where there's still that timer to contend with.

South-west of the map there is a gorgeous fairy-tail style castle.
There's a few builds down here, but this one really stood out.

It's the devs testing things out in the actual game world and 'hidden' behind the barrier. They mean very little and are unlikely to stay in the same place (if at all) ^^
I did wonder that, but there's a whole path with POIs off to the side leading all the way from Springlands.
The area north of this is certainly unfinished (the area behind the mysterious west gate in Springlands)

yeah its the same type of building but its currently in bounds which is the strange part, all the buildings out of bounds are obviously empty so makes you think the place in the summits wasnt supposed to be in-bounds yet

the interesting part is that they moved all the hollow hall locations from deep underground west of the springlands (some of them were in that area past the gate) to the top NW corner of the map (also deep underground)

Depending on if you have lit the Coldest Elixir Well and defeated the boss there and then upgraded your Flame Altar. You can use travel Flame Altars; I set them down as I was exploring the area. Now I only have two, one at Howling Peak and one at White Pines (one of the best glide points for Veilwater).

Question (MINOR SPOILERS): "Cat Search" quest. I have "Cat Search" in my "MISSED QUESTS" section. I've gone to the tower with cat bait, but I cannot find a cat there. Is it possible to finish this quest if another player has already completed it? Will I have the same issue with the other cat search quests and the dog search quests?
Did you have an altar in the area? How long has it been since someone else did it..
did you activate/track the quest?
The cat respawns (all the cats/dogs respawn if you want multiple) you have to be careful looking for it as it blends in with the rats and has the tendency to run out the front door if opened
Look for a yellow health bar and close the door as soon as you enter the tower, it has a tendency to run away and leave the tower.
The cat is there no matter if you have a quest or not, but if another player catched it, it takes some time to respawn and no one must enter the area for at least half an hour (and yes no altar in the area or it disables respawns)

Got the eagle pants in epic now aswell and an upgrade here and there but only Paladin is full legendary so far

i got a question. i noticed that weapons with gem of storms eye embedded emit light every now and then (bc it sparks). are there any other gems that emit light effects>
Question: my friends and I were playing together yesterday. There were three of us. Iβm generally the magic user. The other two are a sword and shield defender-type and a large two-handed high-damage fighter.
We were storming the large city of scavengers you have to go to for the almanac for the farmer. Right around the time that we got all the way in and fought the matriarch, the two-handed fighter suddenly noticed that they had shroud fatigue, with a blue visual effect around their feet, reducing shroud time by 5 minutes, with a timer of nearly 2 hour remaining.
We are confused because they werenβt using any magic. I use magic, but I wasnβt using any shroud spells. I did use a shroud wand, but I didnβt get fatigue and never have from using shroud wands.
I already know shroud fatigue cannot be removed (unless thatβs changed). My question is how would they have gotten it? We werenβt in the shroud, he wasnβt using shroud magic, we werenβt fighting shroud enemies. None of his equipment says anything about shroud. I was using my wand, not him.
Is there s source of fatigue that isnβt clearly labeled?
Someone else is saying the same thing - so there's potentially some kind of bug. Will need more people to keep an eye out and try to spot a cause

There are a few gems that have light effects when their buffs are active such as gem of swiftness, cold composure and meteoric impact. In terms of passive lightning effects ill have to check
Its likely from a shroud spell scroll, iv seen people inadvertently use one thinking it was an exp scroll

the barriers around Albaneve summits have not changed since the biome was added :P it was just really hard to explore that area since it was above deadly shroud, but it was not out of bounds

But what's really interesting is at the top of it there is a GIANT structure that's not finished on part of the map that should be out of bounds. I wonder what the team is cooking up π€

Hatchling didn't just magically appear out of thin air. Just because Ancient Ones are dead, doesn't mean there isn't an Adult dragon out there
Those ancient bones Fossilized, that means they were there for thousands of years
I wonder if it only hatched because of the shroud, it could have been there dormant for who knows how long
there's lore notes about how other flying creatures in the game evolved/devolved from the dragons
we don't know how long the youngling was alive for.
We do'nt know when it hatched and when it got absorbed in the shroud.
At least that's how I see it? - like its not normal dragon.

Plus how long do dragons live, how long to reach maturity, so do they have stages - hatchling, etc from the lore notes re the bale fires it has been around for a while, maybe even pre shroud?
