so i used a few of the css things to make it look more like old ui, specifically the better timestamps, old server icons, old profile thingy in the bottom left, and got rid of the bar at the top, and when i opened a group chat it crashed and now since it automatically opens that gc whenever it starts up it just instantly crashes so i cant get rid of any of those things to fix it, uninstalling and reinstalling vencord also did not work (desktop app on windows btw) so how can i get rid of those css things if i cant even open discord?

Hello, I have been using Vencord for about a year and had no problems before, a few days ago Vencord stopped working and when trying to reinstall it this error appears in the installer:

The easiest & fastest solution to most issues is to just reinstalll / repair Vencord using the installer. Don't worry, you won't lose your settings! They'll all be there like nothing happened once you're back

Not sure if this is a problem with my settings/themes somewhere or if ShowMeYourName just isn't meant to do this/is broken/not done yet but it doesn't change people's names in voice chats. First image is a person in VC, second image is the same person in a chat channel. Disabling the "Display names" setting does not change this, it only changes the chat messages.

Vencord updates are built after they've had a chance to see what the discord update did. So unfortunately, the devs cannot instantly update vencord when discord gets an update.

Client modifications are against Discord's Terms of Service.

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it

The oldcord theme is a sort of use-at-your-own-risk kind of deal. Eventually it will be completely incompatible with discord. It could be that time has arrived.

Regardless, oldcord was not made here and we cannot provide support for it.

I've been trying to make it work, someone helped me and it was a step on the right direction but it still has an issue (It's meant to be a collapsible server list)

The issue is that when reappearing, it doesn't move the content again to the right. So the serverlist ends up on top of the channels

fyi to fix it you just need to go into themes and change it to ash

PSA: if your oldcord broke overnight, the fix is really simple: go into settings, then themes, and change it to ash. It will be a bit brighter than before but it's still 90% of the same and it gets discord back to some sort of usability.
