Hello! I am currently troubleshooting a Vesktop install (from the binary tarball) on Linux and I would like to ask in which directory Vesktop expects CSS user themes to be stored?

Yeah sometimes happens if the handler doesnt work on the os. Cant directly tell unfortunatly, as im on windows, and dont have vesktop nor discord installed on my linux machine. I would guess somwhere around ~/.vencord or similar. On windows the path is C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Vencord\themes

Hello! I am running into problems here. I am new to this app, and recently installed vencord in my windows machine which gave me the option in my discord settings with a section called "vencord". Now I am on a linux machine, more precisely a System76 with popOS distro. I know that popOS is a very much new distro, and it runs into problems very often. The thing is, I do not know if vencord or vesktop works different on linux, and I have to modify it via terminal moving into the path where the vesktop files are, or if it should work just as same as windows

Hello everybody,

I’ve had an issue with Vesktop on Windows 11 basically since I installed it. Whenever I stream to friends, the stream FPS is extremely low — at best around 20 FPS (when I'm lucky, and it seems to happen when GPU is not under heavy load), but usually more like 5–10 FPS and very sluggish/stuttery all the time.

Regular Discord streaming works fine (at least last time I tested), so it seems specific to Vesktop. I already tried repairing, disabling hardware acceleration, reinstalling, and various fixes I found on GitHub issues/discussions and Reddit, but nothing helped.

Has anyone experienced this or knows a fix / debugging steps I can try?

@alpine meteor if you had the same rate limiting issue: i resolved it by setting up a github account (well, i had one already^^) and running GITHUB_TOKEN=<thetoken> vesktop which then finally got all its github requests through (apparently more than 60 at a time) and started. seemed to be a one time thing, so things are fixed now. Still don't know why it makes 61+ requests to github during startup, or if its something else on my system

im having an issue where streamer mode enables itself when OBS runs, on windows there is an option to stop it from doing that but on linux it is not present. how do I stop streamer mode from auto-enabling?

there is no option to auto-detect obs in browser discord (which is what vesktop loads) so when arrpc detects it streamer mode is enabled

turn off arrpc but remember that will remove your rich presence for games and stuff

Hey, I recently updated Vesktop (to 1.6.5) on macOS through brew and it does not actually seem to contain any vencord/vesktop featues. When starting up it does say "Starting Vesktop", but once it is open it behaves basically like default discord install.

This is a similar issue what Cyan wrote, however, on Linux I do not have this issue.

I am also unable to manually update Vesktop because the devtools do not open.

Sometimes I use my laptop with an secondairy screen. I work with having discord on that secondairy screen. But I now notice a lot lately when I have Vesktop on my laptop w/o secondairy screen plugged in, the program opens in an imaginary secondairy screen or is extremely small. I think the Vesktop program thinks its still on that screen while its not plugged in. It looks to be sort of the same as this Github-issue from 2024: https://github.com/Vencord/Vesktop/issues/597

Not sure if it's vesktop or discord, but on Linux (CachyOS with KDE), the "sync theme with computer" option doesn't seem to work for me. It just seems to stay always pick Onyx when most other apps do switch to light theme when I select Breeze

Ok, this is getting weird... Now when I restart vesktop with Breeze selected, it's light mode. Then I switch to Breeze Dark and the app bar changes, then switching back to Breeze, discord is dark mode with a light mode app bar, and it just switches back and forth like that, but the app itself is now constantly in the opposite theme of what it should be until I restart vesktop again

Hi I'm on CachyOS w/ KDE Plasma and I have an issue when watching other peoples screen share where it will violently flicker the screen share, its kinda hard to describe but basically if a cutscene is playing it goes back maybe 1s and plays whats currently happening on stream and it just keeps doing that over and over. Weird issue I'm getting, every time I start Vesktop, I'm muted. I've tried updating/repairing Vencord, Resetting Vesktop, complete uninstall/reinstall (through my package manager and through terminal, deleting user settings both ways), and every time I come back, I still start muted. heyo, i was looking at Vesktop, been using it a bit and it's great 👍 but the description of it on the vesktop website orrepository is a bit short. you don't know what you're downloading vesktop for exactly, how it manages to make discord better for linux, if it uses any library or code from elsewhere etc... in short unless you already know about vesktop from a friend or from your own experience, then you don't know what you're getting into. ofr example, i've been using openasar before and it was good, how does it compare to vesktop ? (i'm not acutally asking ofr an immediate answer, just the kind of question people may ask themselves)

So I noticed that whenever I try to stream, vesktop streams with all audio and not just game or app audio. So people hear themselves whenever I stream over Vesktop.
I'm using it on windows.

The reason I'm unsure whether this is a vencord issue or not is because I also use fake nitro.

I just checked and with Discord, the ProtonVPN on seems to work without any issues. It's only on Vesktop that this happens (failing to load messages, can't access settings...)

works on mobile without issue, web version and Discord itself, even without clearing cache and with the same VPN server on. It's really just Vesktop (though if I start with it turned off and then turn on VPN a few moments later, it works fine)

No. These packages are maintained by people (usually) unrelated to Vencord. We can't provide support for unofficial repackages of Vencord unless it's an actual bug in the mod itself (except when such bugs occur due to the repackage).

i figured out why the screenshare wasn't working on NixOS with Hyprland,

heyo! ive had an issue with vesktop on arch where when i stream with audio, on my side there is sometimes double audio for a split second and is quite annoying as it scares me sometimes
it does not happen when i use obs to capture audio and video, and from what i know only happens with vesktop
