I have a question: For some reason, when I try to update ("Reinstall / Repair") Vencord (after updating Discord), it does not load Vencord onto Discord. I have tried multiple times and it is not working. Any fixes?

I'm having a few issues with Vencord and OpenAsar since today (yes I've already updated Vencord).
I noticed that OpenAsar disappeared, so I tried to reinstall it with the installer. But it gave me an error saying it couldn't find some files and directories. Then I tried "reinstall/repair vencord" but that one too gave me an error.

Hello, I've been having a problem for probably a year now and I just figured out that VenCord is causing it and not Discord itself, because the problem does not trigger on devices without VenCord. I use Discord on light mode, and every time I switch from my family account to my public account and vice versa, it changes me back to dark mode. if the ctrl + shift + i keybind doesn't work, it's likely because a different program conflicts with the keybind. This is most commonly the AMD Radeon Software. If you have that, disable keybinds in it (see the video below)

Client modifications are against Discord's Terms of Service.

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it

Anything that modifies client permissions and allows you to send commands you should not be able to, while no longer possible, you used to be able to send embeds as a user (to allow for very pretty and useful messages). In terms of a support question, GENERALLY you wont get banned, but dont do stuffs like loading sketchy plugins claiming to do stuff like bypass the new age verification checks/etc

This has nothing to do with the Vencord client or services and bugs that may relate to it, rather the vencord community as a whole choosing to highlight how an individual recieved discord account infractions that may indicate they have been either compromised in the past, engaged in bad behaviour such as illegitimate spam operations using their clients, etc.

I'd argue that it's a moderation matter because this is something stated by moderation staff and owners, and is not an inquiry about vencord itself but rather vencord policies

What I already tried:

• Completely removed Discord
• Completely removed Vencord
• Removed Discord data folders
• Reinstalled Discord from the official website
• Reinstalled Vencord using the latest installer
• Patched Discord Stable successfully ("Successfully Patched")
• Verified that Vencord files exist in ~/Library/Application Support/Vencord/dist
• Verified that Discord's app.asar contains Vencord references
• Discord launches normally

However:

• No Vencord section appears in Discord settings

When I previously ran:
cat /Applications/Discord.app/Contents/Resources/app.asar

I could see references to:
require("/Users/.../Library/Application Support/Vencord/dist/patcher.js")

so Discord appears to be patched.

Do you know what could cause Vencord to patch successfully but never load inside Discord?

I already tried the Repair/Reinstall option multiple times. The installer reports success, but Vencord still never appears in Discord settings afterwards.

• Open the DevTools with Ctrl + Shift + i (Cmd + Option + i on MacOs) and check the console tab for red error messages

I tried to install vencord, but it didnt work. I Used the normal installer and cli installer as well but both didnt work. It says PATCHED when i install but the thing is that the options dont show in discord app as well as no vencord commands show either.

I opened DevTools and checked the console. It turns out Vencord is actually loading correctly now. I can see Vencord logs such as PluginManager, WebpackPatcher, NoTrack and BadgeAPI starting, and the Vencord section has now appeared in Discord settings. Looks like the issue is resolved. Thank you for the help !
