Will I get banned for using Vencord? Will plugin X get me banned?

Client modifications are against Discord's Terms of Service.

However, Discord is pretty indifferent about them and there are no known cases of users getting banned for using client mods! So you should generally be fine as long as you don't use any plugins that implement abusive behaviour. But no worries, all inbuilt plugins are safe to use!

Regardless, if your account is very important to you and it getting disabled would be a disaster for you, you should probably not use any client mods (not exclusive to Vencord), just to be safe

Additionally, make sure not to post screenshots with Vencord in a server where you might get banned for it

I'm assuming you're saying that you don't see what I'm saying about submodules.
Submodules would allow you to not do the typical fork- add feature- PR, which is more like features rather than plugins. This workflow is where each contributor has their own instance of the software in which they implement their features which are merged in.
Submodules allows a more plugin type workflow where it can allow granular building (i.e. build main software and then the software builds plugins as needed)
it can make development for plugins easier (a developer doesn't have to build vencord, they just make their repo, and configure vencord to add it)
would also allow those who contribute plugins to instead of having a copy/fork of vencord on their profile, have instead just their plugin, and their request to include their plugin would simply be a request to point a submodule to their repo.
Would make version management a bit different, allowing you to review changes in their repo, and if you support, update the submodule.
Also would make some of the more complicated plugin interactions easier to develop on, for example, should I and a friend have two plugins that interact, the most realistic way to do this with forks would be to either, A pull in each others commits into our own repos, or B one of us own the repo hosting both plugins
meanwhile the alternative with submodules would be simply adding two submodules to our personal installs to develop on.
Would also make issue management easier, instead of personally having to support each and every single plugin and each and every issue one may have, the issues can go to their respective repos instead.

Granted, using submodules isn't without issue, but they're not entirely pointless, and this just so happens to be one of the very rare setups where it isn't 100% awful.
Not pushing the idea or anything, but rather was initially curious on your reason for opting against it.

I'm unsure if this is the exact channel to ask, but is there a vencord api used for cross-client communication?

for example, if I wanted to make, say, a plugin for when two users are talking and one wants to move channels, they can switch channels and invite the other user to the other channel to continue discusion, is there a vencord api?

(yes the idea is dumb, its just the simplest thing i could think of)

we had it formulated nicer in the past, along the lines of "you can't use betterdiscord plugins on vencord" but a lot of people then started going on about how it's both just javascript and how they should definitely be compatible (spoiler: they are not)

it's likely not that simple. i tried manually setting it to 0 and it didn't work. it would have to fully disable the hover

why not try to submit a pr if you'd like that feature? it's already got the right file matched, you'd likely just need to write the regex to disable the hover handler

Yes notarin, a server that is entirely about a DISCORD mod and has no other existing purpose definitely has a matrix, and they are 100% active there, why wouldn't they?

However, as Discord's mobile website has some issues (performance, usability, etc), chances are you won't like it.In that case you will instead want to use one of the following mods focused on Mobile.
