The Finals takes place in ~2099 (now 2101) and is all virtual. We see cosmetics and weapons referencing 21st century technology (modern gaming PCs, smartphones, as well as FCAR (FN SCAR) which was first produced in 2004, or the ARN-220 (which is based on Brownells BRN-180, a rifle that seems to be from 2019), and maps from present or near future (Bernal 2025, Las Vegas 2032) that seem to hold up quite well as pieces of civilisation.

Whereas Arc Raiders takes place 80 years later (2180) and we can see the world, technologically is still stuck around the 70s or 80s (spare for futuristic tech such as rechargeable armour, launch pods etc). In Arc, it's theorized that in 2054, there was a giant Exodus (mass escape) of the Rich into space, with poor people being left on Earth that's going through an environmental collapse.

It's important to note that Las Vegas has a "sandstorm" variant, which could allude to some sort of catastrophic event where Las Vegas (or Nevada as a whole) got buried under a giant sandstorm. If that's actually the case, it's possible that other places also had climate catastrophes happen. We know Dissun polluted a ton of their exploitation zones, which could explain the more parts of the world being inhabitable.

Both games go for the theme of "big corpos rulling the masses and ruining earth" but we can't yet say if it's the same universe. Some ARC or Raider gear uses logos seen in the FInals, but I'd say that's a stretch as both games were developed in parallel and logos could've been simply reused.

And again, I don't buy they're the same universe because Finals points out modern technology, whereas all Raiders have is technology from the 80s. Why would Raiders not have flat screens, why are computers in the Spaceport. that were used to send off the Rich to space, not modern. I also very much agree with this idea, while it’s still satire to a degree (being that no one really reads the small/fineprint), it’s also gotten to a point with this universe/timeline the finals takes place in that most of the sponsors/companies associated with Multi-co have done became overconfident to an extent. By that I mean they don’t bother of having to lie since most of the general population don’t bother looking into their controversies

Many of the local population have become too busy and distracted to pay close to these trending issues and problems that the CEO’s have created like with Oze-puse, Vaiiya, and Dissun to name a few. Which is why CNS have become so present within the lore and the gameshow, they’ve come to expose them all for what they’ve done and to open the public’s eyes to the truth

what i think is interesting is how the finals is nothing more than the platform for a variety of “factions” to make their messages and intents known. like above all else the finals is an advertisement platform before an entertaining game show

if cns had any problem with the game of the finals, they could probably destroy it if they wanted to, but instead they choose to use it as a platform and even make it more fun
