If you get "Error opening file for writing" on patch.
Make sure you close all instances of Dark and Darker before applying the new patch. They might still be open on background, so check your Task Manager and close them from there. ( This was the case for me and I closed the one hiding in task manager and it installed after that)

Good news; or maybe bad news; is that you're not alone in this problem. Bad news; at least on my end; is that I have no idea how to fix it. You have a few options;
1: you entirely uninstall and reinstall with a fresh download of every file (base game: hotfix1:hotfix2) in order.
2: Being collecting as much screen shots or video of you attempting to boot the game in different ways and submit this to #report-a-bug
3: google it and maybe you'll have better luck than me since you can see your screen and the exact error and stuff

i just downloaded it on my laptop it took me 3min, im uploading with 11 mb/s as we speak it's fine atm. @harsh vigil the first time you log in with password and name you will register if it say's name is already taken you need different name, it will also ask you to save a 'key' that's the only way to recover password so you will know you 'registered' then. @buoyant radish both, in the correct order download game > hotfix 1 installed > hotfixed 2 installed.

Yeah bard seems very incomplete. 2 music memories but you cant change your songs. No variations of the lute or way to buy it so if you get revived and dont have your bard is useless. Jokester is most definitely a bard perk but put it on rogue. Pacify, dissonance, and chaotic discord don't always work correctly.

to fix the new blurry issue, some people do need the DSLL up scaling, and they also needed shadows on low. It depends on what card you have. This is the 2nd time you have grouped everyone into the same problem in the last hour.

hey btw, you can apparently force enable vsync in the config file, just thought I should share:
the config file is stored in %LOCALAPPDATA%\DungeonCrawler\Saved\Config\Windows\GameUserSettings.ini
I just changed bUseVSync=False to bUseVSync=True and now there is no screen tearing and seemingly has full gsync/freesync support
