It's possible that this inspired you, or perhaps you coincidentally developed a similar role. In terms of the general design direction, we're trying to build a different game and we aren't really looking to replicate the roles found in modded Among Us or other social deductions! But thank you for taking the time to make a submission, we love this type of community engagement.
I got this one last role idea hopefully it doesn't disappoint you. How about a gambler role you can bet on someone during meetings if they are a duck and if correct you can get a bonus ability if wrong you lose voting power. Geese role. Now that's great for social deduction.
Never disappointed, just trying to dig into the creative part of you and make you really think about it

Win Condition: accuse two players to win.
DUCK HUNTER
NEUTRAL
You need to complete a list of tasks to be able to kill. Upon completing the tasks, the ducks will be notified of your arrival, and every 20 seconds your location will be revealed to them (only the location). Your goal is to kill all the ducks, and if you succeed, you win the game. If there is only one Duck left alive, it will know who you are. The duck hunter does not win the game if the last duck is expelled.
The Duck Hunter can only kill ducks, and can hide, just like the Engineer (when hidden, the cooldown stops).
Why isn't my message going through?
Role: Chimera. Class: Neutral. Ability â Extract DNA. Takes 10s to use. DNA is collected after 3s. Victim gets a small neck mark visible in-game and meetings. Victim becomes slower. - Psychic Goose
You can gaze two players and in the next round you will know if theres any animosity between them. Animosity lasts one round and applies if at least one of them voted for anyone in the same faction as the other

Ability: The Mentalist randomly marks one geese. The marked geese is visible only on the Mentalistâs screen. When the Mentalist activates their ability, the selected geese cannot identify the colors or names of nearby Birds for 15 seconds and cannot communicate with them in any way.
Role: Chatterbox
Team: Goose
Ability: This role only appears in mic room. Everyone can hear the Chatterbox's voice, anywhere and everywhere at any time.
Role: Impersonator
Team: Duck
Ability: If the Impersonator is the only player who voted another player, the Impersonator gets classified as the role of the player they voted until the next voting phase. For example, if they get classified as a goose, they'll still have their kill ability, however, will be called "Not a duck" if voted out, if the sheriff kills them, the sheriff will also die, and if they get killed during the round and the Mortician investigate their corpse, they'll be shown as whatever role they impersonated as.

Copywriter (duck)
For each completed fake task, you get the opportunity to write a word that will be protected by copyright. If another player writes it word in a meeting, he will die.
How it works:
Words are entered into a special private chat during the round. A player killed by this word will not display it in chat, making it secret.
Role: Psychologist
Team: Goose
Ability: Like the Assassin, the Psychologist can select a player during the voting time and guess their role. The Psychologist can determine if the role they guessed matches that player. This skill can be used a total of n times per game.
Usage: If a player claims that they are a Birdwatcher, Psychologist can guess Birdwatcher for that player to see if they're actually a birdwatcher. If not, there is a high chance that they're not a goose. But always be aware of Dodos!
Role: Nocturnal Goose
Team: Goose
Passive: The Nocturnal Goose has a smaller vision range than other geese during normal time. However during the vision sabotages such as Summon Darkness, Light Off, Smog, etc, their vision range increases largely.

Ability: The Portal Duck places a portal that can return to during the game.
This portal is only visible to Ducks, and the Portal Duck can return to it once.
Role: Dipper
Team: Duck
Ability: The Dipper can change the color of its own victims or the victims of other Ducks. It can paint bodies 1 time with 10 players, 2 times with 13 players, and 3 times with 16 players. It can collect a Gooseâs color during the game using a needle. (Like Morphling)

Ability: You can mark Geese twice per game. Marked Geese cannot attend meetings and will automatically vote âSkip.â

Ability (doesn't affect ducks): If the illusionist is the only one to vote for a player, the next round the player becomes invisible to the geese, and they can't hear that player. Neutrals and ducks see a special mark next to that player's nickname.
Possible additions to the ability (I've put it separately so they won't be added if it's too overpowered): the marked player also can't kill. The player's corpse becomes invisible (like a professional corpse).

Ability: Can mark another player if close enough. The marked player loses sight of the magician after 10 seconds (but can still hear magician) for the next minute.
Role: Broadcaster

Ability: Can be used with one player standing nearby. After this, that player will be able to hear the broadcaster from any distance until the next vote, but this only works in one way.

After goose finishes all kinds of tasks that enable stuffs (for example: doors, security cameras and intercomm)they can use this ability on the sabotage panel and click on the icon, making the goose unable to use it for a while, if the specialist can consecutively program the stuff for 3 times, the stuff that is enabled will break down, making the goose need to do the tasks again to reactivate it.
Notice:
Specialist can still kill, but they can't sabotage because it uses the sabotage panel, they also can't do tasks that enables sabotage.
- Defigens Duck
You can bind a player with an invisible egg cursing them. Cursed players cannot see nor report bodies but they can see binded eggs until theirs is destroyed, lifting the curse.
Role: Thor

Ability: Gets a hammer and can kill with it
Predator (Duck)
Short description: You can become invisible to kill and can use homing plasma cannon.
How it works:
When you click on kill button, you automatically become invisible, and when you come into contact with a player, you immediately leave the invisibility and kill them.
Your ability is plasma shot: you shoot a visible charge that travels some distance, killing players on hit.
Additional info:
Cannot kill normally, can see colors and walk slower when invisible.

Collaborate with a fellow duck to give the duck an extra kill button, if the fellow duck has an ability button to use (for example:Looter, witch doctor and morphling) , they won't be given if tried, but for ducks that have but the ability doesn't have an exact button or replaces the kill button ( for example: sniper, professional, ninja and assassin) they will have an extra kill button after a meeting is called.
Notice:
Collaborator can't kill, but they can sabotage .They can use their ability on mimic but mimic won't get kill button. Collaborator can't collaborate with lost duckling
Laser (Duck)
Short Description: You can incinerate players.
How it works: When activating a special ability, you will be able to select the angle at which the laser beam will be launched. When the ability is confirmed, a visible shine path will appear and a laser will pass along this path a second later. The laser is unlimited in distance (virtually across the entire map) and will incinerate all players standing in the way.
Additional info: Can kill normally but with increased cooldown, friendly fier, body destroyed by ability cannot be reported.
Hunter (duck)
Can put 1 traps per round on the map that can kill the first player that step on it (even himself or a duck)
Hacker (duck)
Can touch any player, that player can no longer complete any task during this round
Make it so that the ducks have a visible dot on the map to show where the trap is placed
So they won't accidentally step on it
Role: Camo
Team: Goose
Ability: The Camo goes into camouflage for 15 seconds; whilst camouflaged, only other geese can see it, and it has one kill per game.
This role is a vigi, but you can confirm yourself as goose
I hate things that "only the good ones know", other players cant counterplay something like it. (We already have celebrity for it and its a problem just existing)

The Carrion â ď¸ Alignment: Neutral Killing
Goal: Feed on the aftermath and eliminate the players.
Ability â âFeastâ
The Carrion cannot kill at the start.
Every dead player leaves behind a hidden Essence only the Carrion can see.Collecting 2 Essence grants 1 kill charge.Essence stays even if the body is reported.Passive Effect:Each Essence collected:every people's color turns gray and we lose our outfit for 20 seconds
reduces vision slightly:The Carrion becomes faster but more âblindâ to the map as it grows stronger.
Win Condition:Be the last player alive, ORCollect 6 Essence total.This fits cleanly into the deception ecosystem of Goose Goose Duck while keeping the same mechanic people like, just with a darker, more unique identity.
Seagull (Neutral)
You win if enough meetings are called. You can stealing players to get an extra vote. You always skip voting.
How it works: When using an ability, it will temporarily block another player's abilities a few seconds after activation.
Additional info: can vents, must stay alive to win, MAYBE can track bodies.
- Mutualists (Carrier/Parasite) Rework
One will be carried inside by the other and switch places every round. Both are lifelinked and can always communicate but one must skip and the other vote a player. The one inside can be implanted into another player to kill and shapeshift as them.
Why?
Currently Carrier n Parasite count as 1 duck but give 2 votes to their faction which seems unfair to me, this rework removes that and makes it so both switch places every round so both players can be parasite and carrier however the parasite morph ability might need to be adjusted to balance the change
Stork
Neutral

In each round, you can only choose one player to carry an egg till the meeting.

The player who receives the egg will not receive any notification that they received it.

The killing outs its existence and could put the Stork in a situation where they can't win because of it. Your idea is nice tho, forces the geese to not waste too many meetings as they could give a free Stork win.

Since new roles are being added to the game, I would like to improve the old ones a little, because some of them don't look very playable right now.
My suggestion concerns the role of a Preacher.
I would like to add a new mechanic for controlling additional voices.
How it works:
if the Preacher has given the player additional votes;
and during the voting, the Preacher votes before this player,
then the additional votes automatically go to the same goal that the Preacher chose.;
if the player voted before the Preacher, he retains control over his votes, and the Preacher loses the opportunity to direct them.
As for me, it will make the role more active and interesting.

How about we have a role that can gain a kill by seeing 2 or 3 bodys (saying 2 because most people donât come around bodyâs very often) But this goose would be named the âParanoid gooseâ Much like Mortician or Vulture if this goose sees a carcass/body they can interact with it to gain paranoia and it once they have two (Or three) paranoia they will gain the ability to kill like the Avenger, Soldier, or dueling dodoâs

ability: it can place a wall that will disappear after 25 seconds, you can only place one wall at a time and theres a 15 second cooldown.
the 15 second cooldown appears after the first wall dissappears so you dont continuosly place a wall and block off a place completely

Build and protect your nest.
1. There will be 4 items scattered around the map, items that only you can see.
2. After picking up the first item (you can only carry one at a time), you can place it anywhere to build your nest.
3. After placing the first item, the other items can only be placed where the first one is.
4. While building the nest, only you will be able to see the nest being built.
5. After taking all the items to the nest, it will become visible to all players and a 45-second countdown will begin.
6. During this countdown, the Magpie will have a kill with a 5-second cooldown and must protect the nest.
7. Other players can go to the nest and break it.
8. While they are breaking it, a task to break the nest (similar to the cuckoo task) will begin, which they must complete to break it.
9. If the nest is broken, the Magpie will die.
10. If the nest remains intact until the countdown ends, the Magpie wins.
Terminal patient (goose)
Gain a bomb after the 4th meeting.
-The appearance of terminal patient after meetings creates confusion, giving Geese alibis, Ducks opportunities to remove marked targets, and Neutrals more chances to act.
Barnacle goose (goose)
If a goose is voted out during a meeting, inherit their role.
-Barnacle Goose turns meeting deaths into new opportunities by inheriting fallen Goose roles, creating more strategy for Geese and more deception opportunities for Ducks and Neutrals alike.
Lieutenant (goose)
Start the game knowing the sheriff's identity.
-Sheriff is a game-changing role, yet Geese often cannot confirm their identity after death or impersonation. This role strengthens Sheriff simply by knowing who they are.
Hacker (duck)
Reduce sabotage cooldown by 10 seconds. Once per game, remotely unlock one sabotage objective.
-Goose Goose Duck is a deduction game, but Ducks are often caught simply for being seen at sabotage unlock locations. While this is a natural counterplay for Geese, overreliance on it can limit Duck gameplay and prolong matches. A role that can remotely unlock sabotages could create more strategic variety, encourage active participation from Geese, and give Neutral roles better opportunities to act.

For me, I enjoy GGD the most with information roles (RIP old Spy), and both sides can utilize them in their favor. You may or may not be a goose, because everyone can pretend to be one and spread misinformationâwhich isn't something you can easily confirm, unlike Lucid Dreamer (yes, Raven exists, but not for ducks). If it's bad, it's possible to just remove the part where you are the only player to vote. Or, have two roles: one with the vote requirement and who killed them, and the other without it, but knowing the role of the killer. 
The Illusionist:
Role:
The Illusionist has no direct win condition tied to Geese or Ducks. Instead, they win if they survive until the end of the match, regardless of which faction wins.
Special Ability:
Mirror Identity: once per round, the Illusionist can select another player and âcopyâ their visible role.
This means that in role checks or investigations, the Illusionist appears as the chosen player, creating confusion and distrust.
Mechanics:
Win Condition: survive until the end of the game.
Lose Condition: if eliminated before the match ends.
Limitations: cannot kill directly, but can sabotage minor tasks (e.g., delaying missions or triggering false alerts).
Name of the role: Ostrich (Neutral
)
- Ostrich can speeding up, but it's too noticeable to everyone else.
- He wins as last survivor. He's goal is lay eggs (like a cuckoo), but the eggs of an ostrich are very huge. Therefore, he has another ability - he can stick his head in any place underground. So he can be invulnerable to dangers (including ducks and cars that can knock down the player). That's where he lays his eggs. As soon as he lays enough eggs, he gets a boost in speed (see point 1.) and he can kill players. Players must find these pits. They are usually invisible, but if the "Use" button is lit, it means that there is a pit in front of you. If a hole is found, it must be dug out, get the egg and break it.

Name of the role : Necromancer (Goose), Have the ability to choose a dead player and see what they write in the chat during the party, can only be used during two meetings.
Role Ideas
Dr. Freazeduck and Solvent Goose
Dr. Freazeduck: When you activate the Freeze ability, the player freezes after 10 seconds and cannot move. They must be rescued by Solvent Goose. If they go to vote before being rescued, there is a 50% chance they will freeze to death.
Solvent Goose: You can thaw people frozen by Dr. Freazeduck.

The Doctor - Can scan a player once per game, that players name text will change color according to their faction (currently, white for goose, red for duck, and yellow for DoDo)

The Pacifist - Can not see dead bodies , can silence a player from killing for 30 seconds. Ability cooldown refreshes when they complete a task.
role idea: rooster. It would be a button enabled role with a set active time. If the duck kills in that time period, then the rooster player (or everyone) is alerted at the time of kill.
^^^ We have a day/night cycle in our next map genre where this would make a lot of sense.

Species right now are : Ducks, Goose, and Dodo
is the Dodo's role to just die

Maybe the snitch should be a sub class for the dodo so they have more of an incentive to do tasks
The dodo loses if geese win though, so they actually don't want to help them at all. They could even just know who the ducks are from the start and the game would still work fine since they have no incentive in telling đ
Havenât had a chance to play yet but.... hunter-if you get voted out you get to kill one other player on the way out the door. This should come into effect before win condition is calculated so if the hunter gets voted off at 5 and kills an imposter, the game keeps going. Could get dicey with 3, youâd have to deactivate him at that point.

A duck who can leave a little teleporter device anywhere on the map. Then It could at any time press a Button to teleport to the device (but you have to be carefull that no one is camping it).

Sniffer - Can sniff out impostors. Their report button will include a mini animation showing possible identity of the killer. If the killer has farted anywhere on the map their identity/color is shown. If the player hasn't farted, only the emote they have equipped is shown.
Mallard - Steals another goose's role. Only available for a limited time with a cooldown. OR Can only steal one role per game.
Technician - Can fix one sabotage from any location. Once they use their feature, the duck is informed of their location.

CIA - Can view cameras, (maybe admin table and vitals?) and press emergency button from a device on their person.

- get locked into the task for at least X extra seconds after completion so other goose sus them for taking longer time than usual or a duck to come up from behind and kill them
- tricks the goose to think they completed the task but it actually doesn't count to completed task and has to do it again for next round (again to people to sus out on why they went to the same task if they already did it)

Spy Goose - A goose that once it has its tasks complete it has arrows pointing towards the ducks. The catch is that once all but 1 or 2 of the tasks are done, his cover is blown and the ducks know who the spy is. His cover can also be blown by a morphlingâs sample, but maybe only to the morphling and not all the ducks.

I also like the idea of a blackmailing duck. If the blackmailing duck uses his ability on you, you can not use the chat. Once voting, not meeting, but voting starts the first message you send will be âI have been blackmailed.â the rest of the messages blocked. In the meeting all messages will just be blocked. This could even end up having an interesting gambit of lying about being blackmailed to skip over a meeting as a duck
Perhaps even muting your prox chat outside of meetings until the next round after the meeting ends

All hair cosmetics have an alternate "slicked back" version. Nicknames are automatically defaulted to "Nico"

Copygoose who has the ability to copy the role of the next person that died after the ability is used. Could be a fun idea where if there is dodo bird that gets murdered by a duck, the copygoose will become the next dodobird, or if they activated before a meeting that a duck gets voted out, then they become the new duck. Or they can end up taking a goose role to replace the goose that died and can help clear up claims.
Actually, this might be a good sub role for Dodo. They can copy a random role similar to how morphing samples. They can confuse other players but itâs still not in their interest to give ducks away. Would have to think more about this.
^ This can trigger immediate win conditions and will be very confusing for other players. Something to definitely look into though.

I have another fun idea. A goose that is a wildcard so his ability has different effects and its random. 2 ideas for it:
When standing beside a person, he gets the ability to kill but its a 50/50 whether its the player beside them or its themselves. (Would cause for funny situations if the wildcard kills themselves because people would think the other person killed him or ducks can use it as a defence as well). They also get a 50/50 ability when there is a sabotage active, they can activate it and it has a 50/50 to either half the time remaining or double the time remaining.
Another idea I was thinking was like it costs a completed task (so it becomes undone) to use the ability and he has to be beside another person. Then he has different outcomes, I was thinking maybe like a dice roll where if it lands on 6, it kills the person beside them, 5 reveals their role, 4 and 3 does nothing but it still costs them a task, 2 undo the person beside task if applicable, 1 kills themselves.

^^^ We do have an idea in the pipeline similar to this already in the works. In our game we have species and roles. Species have their own win condition ie. Dodo Bird - wins by getting voted out. Ducks are like imposters, and Geese are like crewmates. We have an idea for a Pigeon, Vulture, and maybe the swan can be another win condition. Swans are majestic but they are also terrible jerks too. Maybe they can be duck hunters?

Maybe the swan can be like the survivor in ToS. All they want to do is survive. Does not matter whose side wins, as long as the Swan is alive by the end of the game the Swan wins too. The catch is that the Swan has no tasks. They have to avoid being killed, but also have to know the tasks to fake in the right moments to not look sus to the geese. They could come out and say they are the swan, but it might be an imposter just trying to stay alive by the kindness geese are totally known for
Duck - Silencer: Can silence everyone in the meeting/chat for all alive players secretly. - Once per game.
Duck - Assassin: Starts rounds and exits vents with 0 sec kill cool-down: Default 60 second kill cool-down after kill.

I think switching map in game might be a little much, but being able to teleport within a map could be fun! Maybe they can have the option to go alone, or choose someone to take with them. It could be a way to protect themselves or someone else.
This is already in development as a goose role. The Scientist. Can set a teleport anywhere it wants to. Once used it will have a cooldown before being able to be set again.

Do you have a page in here, where you update a list of roles in development? You could also have a list of potential roles for people to "vote" on with emotes, to see what people like the most. It would help to avoid people suggesting the same thing multiple times

One of my favorite roles in modded among us is the Assassin role where you can guess a special role during chat. This stops people from claiming roles and getting clear vouches all the time. Adds a very interesting element to the game.

one goose is the time lord and every 30 sec or less can rewind time for like 3-5 seconds can disable sabotages if rewinded once it started or can add more time or revive dead goose who just got killed or just to mess with others and make them do the task again
It would be neat with a Golden Goose role, that lays golden eggs. If other geese finds it, it grants them something cool, maybe a power up, or even the ability of mechanic/ vigilante/ engineer, but only for 1 round or a limited time

identity thief type of role where to win, you have to find a dead body and steal whatever role it had (even if it was a normal goose or duck role/dodo) and win with that corresponding side, and if you don't steal a role from a dead body, you just simply lose, kind of like how the dodo just loses if they don't get voted out.
Penguin: A neutral party where they need to be the last one standing in order to win, can kill with a slightly shorter kill cooldown then ducks.
Love Birds: Romeo and Juliette, where when one of them dies by any means, the other will also die
Like a scanner, it could be a spot on map and when you go onto the spot a light would flash green for goose or red for duck. Maybe an option with it for 2+ ducks that 1 duck could goto another spot on map and activate a sabotage (not able via remote) that will make the results flip for 30 seconds. Could maybe try and plan with the duck to activate it while tests happening to break it. Then like a 2 min cooldown before sabotage could be active again.
A duck role where they could send a private mesage to irher ducks but can be spotted by the mechanic like a sabotage

Chameleon Goose: THey can become invisable while standing still. A Duck could still potentially kill them if they try at the spot they are standing either by seeing them go, or chance. If the Goose moves they instantly become visable. Does not activate during tasks. takes half second of no movement before it changes.
Spy Duck: Has the special capability to activate an ability that temporarily (10 seconds or so?) shows the anonymous location of all players in a room on their map when they bring it up, not a hallway (Essentially admin info from Among Us). Should have a decent length cooldown.
Tracker Goose: Tracker goose has a one-time use ability where they can set up an invisible trap in any DOORWAY on the map. Any time a player runs through the trap the tracker goose gets a text notification of the player that went through the trap. This will appear in text chat for the tracker ONLY during the meeting and deactivate upon the tracker's death.

Cuckoo - A morphling-like infiltrator with a long standard kill cooldown, long sampling cooldown and a medium morphling phase. Sample DNA like a morphling, but when activated, swaps places with who they sampled, ie Player in hatchery, swaps with player in pond showers. Swap causes death to the sampled player whos body is now in hatchery, while the cuckoo is hanging out in the showers....... risk of getting caught when swapped vs someone else finding dead body brings on the deception.
We could make a MockingBird species - at the beginning of the game impersonates another player but never switches back

Phantom Duck đť Can kill and vent like a normal duck. After death or being voted out, spawns each round in a vent but cannot re-enter vents upon exiting (to help prevent confirmation of a Duck being voted out/killed). Kill cooldown will not start ticking down until the Phantom exits the vent. Phantom Duck is visible to all living birds as a ghost but moves at 25% movement speed and cannot go over walls or doors. The Phantom Duck may kill once per game from beyond the grave after which returns to a normal ghost.
Sleeper Agent/Anesthetist Duck đľď¸ Has the special ability to secretly inject a sleeping toxin to one other bird. After injection, can put the target to sleep at any time for a duration (5-8 seconds). The bird put to sleep cannot move, cannot use proximity chat (and could potentially have reduced vision?).
Stealth Duck âď¸ đŁâď¸ Can either set a trap that can be activated later or actively choose an area (can't decide what's better) to create a smoke bomb area on a decent length cooldown. In this area, all geese have reduced vision (a la lights out). Tell me if I'm suggesting too many ideas. 
^^^ maybe a manifold sabotage, which smokes up the engines and makes the engine/reactor area foggy when visuals are on?

Illusionist Duck đď¸ Can activate an ability to create a clone. The clone lasts for a decent adjustable length and pops up a small camera in the corner of the screen to view clone and its surroundings. Wow Thor looks so cute today. The Duck can control its illusion by arrow keys/wasd/whatever is easiest. Using the ability again destroys the clone if it is still active. Counts as a body that blind ducks/vig/etc can kill. Will play a death animation and disappear after timer or premature end via reactivation or kill.
Bird Flu/Pigeon cult. Convert the rest of the birds one by one/ spread the flu to all the birds to win once you spread it to people they can spread it once to someone else.

Cupid - Can choose two geese/duck to be lovers. If one of them dies then the other one dies with it. However the only way the cupid can win is if the two lovers survive the whole game.
Resurrector - This goose can bring back one corpse back to life if they find the dead body. The way that they would win is if the geese win or if they resurrect someone in the game.
Hacker - When this goose finishes it tasks, if it goes to med bay afterwards then it can see the role of one player. Then after the meeting of that round then they can see another players role.
Stalker - This duck chooses another player at the start of the game, if the other player dies then the duck will also die as well. The stalker can't kill anyone one until the other ducks have died first, this means that if the stalker gets voted off during the game before the other ducks are killed then the people who the stalker chose to stalk would die with them.
To strong. Maybe they could have some hacking chal and once complete they get to view a random or select players role, but either it's only 1,or they then have to hack again with harder chal to get another and another.

Well that's why I suggested ahacking/task kinds thing. Complete it. Simple at first, but gets harder each time, once complete they find out one. This to tie into hacking they do something with it.
Trapper - This duck can put down up to three traps down in the whole game, if a goose walks over it the goose gets stuck and has to do a special task to break free of the trap. However the trapper will be notified that someone is trapped so if the goose doesn't get out in time then the trapper can kill them.
Mayhaps a Whisperer Duck or even a different species for this like a Parrot idk. He has bad vision (proportional to the setting for Duck if it is a Duck) but will slowly convert anyone in the vision without their knowledge. They will not know if they were converted or not until the end. If by everyone alive is âconvertedâ the Whisperer wins. If itâs a Duck role, then that slow conversion will still happen, but once one goose/dodo/whatever is converted to Duck they can no longer convert anyone.
Also maybe that converted bird to duck cannot kill if it becomes a duck role... just a helpful voter, surveyor, and saboteur
Last night while were were play testing the Sheriff role there were a couple ideas thrown around in the voice chat. One stuck out as particularly good and I still can't believe no one posted it here. So here's our pitch from what I remember, I will give credit to everyone I remember discussing it at the end. We have geese. We have ducks. We even have the noble dodo. What are we missing? Chickens. Chickens have been caught in the middle of the war between geese and ducks for so long, they have grown to hate both sides. So they take neutral killing roles, like arsonist, serial killer/glitch, and maybe even vampire. Credit goes to @somber lance @distant field @frail basin @final dock @nimble bramble @pine vapor and I cant find an @ for MiMa, but it was a lot of her idea. @hoary wind

hmmm i dont know why but maybe a gag zombie roll of some kind like the Ichiya zombies from Fairy tail, but bird themed, maybe the Man-Goose Role xD where you're goal is to turn others into more of you you fail if you turn others into Man-Geese, or you're voted out with all your infected xD
Role abilities: This role can put a "protective shield" on a player just once a game. So if the duck tries to kill the goose, he will survive to the first attack, the duck lose the kill oppurtunity so the cooldown will start and will appear a screen animation to the duck (something like clouds and angelic choir),for the time specified in the game settings, that obfuscate the duck's vision so the duck loses some time.
The name of the role is important for us so if you choose this please don't remove it <3```

How about an inspector goose, you can set the amount of times that this goose can inspect, and uses them to see what another goose or ducks role is. There would also be a cool down for each inspection that the lobby leader can set

Basically the round after you die you get to vote. anonymous voting must be on so no one can tell who you voted for.
a doppelganger, this has probably been recommended but i couldnt find it. basically at the start of the game the doppelganger chooses a random player from the list of players and get their role along with that original player. for example if i choose to click on the red goose and it tells me theyre a technician i am now also a technician. i think this could make some really cool games when there are two of the same roles or more then the max number of ducks.

There was a detective mod for Among Us that the detective could inspect the body and it would give "clues" and random info, so like it would say the killed crewmate had unpaid parking ticket in their pocket and random stuff like that but then also make some semi-vague comment about the imposter
In Town of Impostors the detective could tell if the body had been moved and how long it had been there.

Seance-
Sort of like a medium.
Basically activates during a meeting (either 1st or after a certain few or able to be activated).
So as a Seance Goose you can see a random dead Gooseâs vote. It will only appear for the Seance Goose.
Additional tweaks could be:
The Seance goose could be muted for in meetings (would be fun because others may think said person is silenced).
Or the Seance gooseâs ability will activate randomly so they wouldnât know when their power will activate.
It could use some tweaking but the gist of it is that a Goose can see a dead vote (not a ducks vote).

Ok so when I would play Ultimate werewolf I began with 3 teams; werewolves villagers and the village idiot (to this game its geese, ducks, and dodo). But I learned there were other roles, like cult leader, they were different teams as well with with a special win condition of making people join the cult unwillingly. They would win if everyone left alive including the the cult leader was in the cult. We could make a roll for a cult leader, or sickness, or fungus, along those lines where they can do similar (with cooldowns of course) and I think it'd be awesome to have!
Randomly a Duck that was killed by a Sheriff has the ability, while a ghost to kill the sheriff (make it a small random chance like 5%)
Also, would love it if Ghost could fart, and randomly the Live Geese and Ducks can see/hear the farts
Mother Goose - they can surrender their life for another goose (or duck) they wouldn't know, for the chance of the one they found dead to come back to life and share their story.
Goose Support - Can remotely fix a sabotage once per game
Decoy - For goose, can leave a decoy doing a task, if a duck kills it, he dies and alerts the Goose but the goose doesn't know who killed its decoy

In addition to the Canadian Goose Role- Given the fact Canadian Geese can be mean I think a neat addition would be if the Ducks, Vigilantes, or Sheriff kills the Canadian Goose in addition to the "Self Report" I think if the Canadian Goose gets killed they also kill the Duck, Vigilante, or Sheriff etc.

Swan - If killed by a Duck, the Duck dies, and does an auto report. But make swan chance very low/rare. Also, swan only gets spawned when there are two or more ducks in the game.
Bad Egg - neutral role that can leave rotten eggs that explode and kill someone nearby after 5 seconds of it being laid.
Mother Goose - essentially a medic type role, either brings back the dead or puts a shield on 1 player
Swan / Ugly duckling - similar to the Glitch role. Can hack people so they can't do tasks, and can disguise as other players
Oh and proximity chat in the main lobby since there are 16 players (too many people talk at once over each other)

If you ever add modifiers, the Canadian Goose needs maple syrup. An idea for that is the Canadian goose can squirt maple syrup at a player to slow them down

The 3GG - a robot avian disguised as a goose with one objective: leave nothing alive.
Can't kill anything directly, can sabotage, but explodes either on command or when killed, killing nearby birds indiscriminately.
The only way for them to win is to kill all the remaining players simultaneously, although to prevent this from happening too early, perhaps a 3 minute warmup should be necessary.
American Goose - if a duck tries to kill them, the duck dies
Sacrifice - goose. Must be voted out first for outcome = auto goose win. If not first voted out, then like bounty becomes a plain goose. Counters the dodo wanting to be voted out. Needs a balance such as silenced first round?
Unlucky duck. They will be struck by lightning or crushed by a Boulder or some funny unfortunate death on the third round but anyone around them will go with them.
I like this idea, but maybe killing the duck is too much. Maybe it lets out some sort of alert, either a ping on the map for all geese, or it notifies only the goose that laid the decoy or something, then it can be once per round since it doesn't give you 100% information unless your nearby (which makes it dangerous, because I assume it is the same color as the goose that set it out... easy to notice if there are two geese that look the same). Maybe it falls apart after some amount of time, making it a risk that you reveal who you are. Just thoughts, regardless of the details, I like this idea!
Though not exactly a duck, I like the role name too much...
Blue Footed Booby-Trapper: Can booby trap one task or sabotage repair task per game, causing the first goose to die after completing that task. It would have to be a task itself to set the trap.
Bonus: on blind ducks this can kill another duck XD
The diffuser : one goose can inactivate a sabotage so It can't be called until a meeting is called or the ducks have to re activate the sabotage to use it again.
Electrician Goose: can see normal vision when lights are out but sees slightly less when lights are on.
Maybe tweak it and make it a bat or something, using echolocation.... x)

so if you kill a mechanic and attempt to pose as one, the captain will know, so you've got to get rid of them first
attempting to pose as a captain would be a bad idea even when they are dead
for the sake of balance, one role will be shown on the wrong player, e.g: the captain could think a duck was an engineer
as we all know geese are murderous dumb and cunning forgetful
so if the original engineer is dead, duck can safely say "yes I'm an engineer" should the Captain ask
otherwise if engineer is alive, the real engineer says "wait up Captain, I'm the engineer"
if the duck didn't claim to be an engineer before the real one speaks up, or states honestly that they aren't, then they avoid suspicion
or the duck could claim to be the real engineer and try and vote off the original if no one can vouch for them
Third Eye Duck: can see other players on the mini map but doesnât specify who is who.
Prisoner Goose: can chain another player to them for 30 seconds and canât go out of their vision until the 30 seconds is up, 90 second cooldown.
Outlaw Goose: works same as vigilante, but this roles goal is to eliminate the ducks and geese to win the game.

An owl is an interesting idea, especially with working with the lights. We've been careful with adding roles that have changing teams because we are worried it can upset a delicate game balance

Yes, but if you suspect a vulture, you would corresopndingly increase the frequency of button presses. And if Ducks suspect a vulture, maybe they'll make the effort to kill someone over a vent to watch to see who gets rid of it

i dont think vulture would be too op because most bodies found are reported instantly also you'll get sussed for eating a body if caught

A duck role or a neutral role that can only attack in the dark .Ligths can only be sabotaged in only one or two rooms at a time by them. To fix them you go to the ligths pannel in electrical and you only get the arrow pointing to the pannel once you step in the room . He will work as intended if Ducks sabotage the ligths (it can kill everywhere till ligths are turned on) .If ligths are sabotaged by ducks and then fixed , the rooms he sabotaged the ligths will be fixed.
If you add it as a neutral role : Ducks have half vision in rooms affected by it and shorter range than the person who sabotaged the ligths.
To implement this : you need a fade animation for the ligths , ligths that are outside the room can and will light up a bit the entrance to the room with ligths sabotaged .

Stalking someone should last for an adjustable duration and then goes on cooldown. Should end and go on cooldown if target dies as well.

Ok me and @brisk lotus thought of 4 roles
Role Idea: Future/Cyber Goose. They can set a teleporter device on the map, and use it at their convinence to teleport wherever the teleporter is located. once the goose teleports, the device has a cool down before it can be placed again. 5 secs after placing it down, 15-20 after using the teleporter. Think of it as a disposibal escape route for a goose just before a murder. Not sure if the device could be destroyed by a duck if discovered as a counter to the role
Role Idea: The Enhanced Duck. A duck with mutated DNA that have access to two features: 1. An ability to change their size, make themselves smaller to run faster for a small duration of time. 2. With the duck's dna changes, it cannot wear its sabotage watch, so there for it must improvise and can only set off sabatages from the control modules(wherever you put in the code to sabatoge). It can still vent like a normal duck
Teleportation is a cool idea and one we've thought to implement in the next map! We are wary of adding roles that can instantly clear themselves though
For example, if you claimed to be a Canadian goose, no one could easily tell until you died, and even then it's not certain. Same with you being a mechanic or vigilante... It could still be a duck!
Well, i guess it could also be a duck role as well. You can get a quick kill, then go back to where you where, and have an aliby for that said kill. Just an idea throwing it out :)

This goose can place a remote operated camera station that allows the goose to view the mapâs cameras from anywhere on the map, but once they place it, they canât move it.

if we were to implement something like that, its likely that the camere location would be a stationary spot that is randomized at the beginning of the game
because the map is not procedurally generated, if there are spots that are much better than others, it'll become automatic to place them there

that's an interesting idea, to be able to block/murder... i'd be wary of how unfun it might be for the target of that ability though. it's also another instantly verifiable role, which we're trying to shy away from

Yeah if they're actually imprisoned it would suck for the target if it was a long round... So just losing their ability to kill (maybe morph/ vent), would be enough, or otherwise restricting their movements.
Maybe it could work like the morph/ silencer, where the target won't know it happened to them? Maybe they would click the person they wanted to "imprison" during a meeting?
The Uno reverse could be interesting. ESP if the switch decision had to be made during the discussion time and before the voting actually happens.

How about instead of imprisoning the ducks, the security guard could protect someone with an ability much like how the silencer duck can silence someone.

Role idea: Mother Duck. This duck has been alive for so long, she can trick or turn a fellow goose into a duck ONCE per game or perhaps once per round. It would transform the goose into a classic duck, but mother duck cannot vent.
Role idea: Twin geese. Two geese or one goose and a duck, are declared twins, and can see if the other twin dies. If both twins are geese, and one dies, the other twin gets a chance to avenge(kill once) his other brother/sister goose. Similar to lover role in mods, if the twins are alive at the end of 3 players, they win.

Camo Duck: this duck is trained to kill any geese that he needs to, and from the shadows. When lights are off, maybe it can get an agility boost to run through the dark, or perhaps blend in like an active camo, but not completely invisible. The duck can still be noticed, but it also hides the name of the player so they are not detected. They can vent and sabatoge normally
Rampaging Duck: this duck is out for blood, specificly geese. They have a special ability to kill more than one player in a close range swipe of an attack, wherever the duck is facing. Cannot vent and can kill normally, but could have an extended kill cooldown

my final suggestion for a role cause I ran out would be a goose that can get a zoomed out look of the map too see where dead bodies, players, and venters are on the map. Maybe not the venters but I feel like it should be toggleable between each one the goose can see but yeah thats it im out of ideas it was fun making these tho
i think a sort of executioner role with thier only win condition, sort of like dodo is a solo win, executioner would have a target and need to get thier target voted out as a means of winning. the challenge with this role is making youself not sus in order to get by other players.
yep, they hired the guy who made town of us, so any role from that has probably been considered or being worked on i would hazard a guess
Idk if itâs been said but a drunk goose? Forgets his role every round and is assigned a new one each meeting. Iâd find it funny if an arsonist like role that notices can use his ignite to instantly kill the drunk because of the pure amount of alcohol in its system
And maybe a hero goose, this goose can automatically vote off another player in a meeting, saving the game! The only bad part, is the hero sacrifices himself to do it... or he might have killed a dodo and died in vain... oof
goose ideas (very awesome)
- Captain: Starts the game with no abilities. After the first meeting, they learn role of everyone in the game. After the first meeting, if they are killed, the game ends and the Ducks win. (If there is only 1 Duck by the end of the first meeting, this role has no effect).
- Monitor: Ability places a bug on a nearby player. They will know when and where (marked on map) that player dies. Additionally, they hear proximity chat from that player. 2 bug charges.
- Detective: Ability allows them to investigate any task and see what players have previously completed that task.
- Convict: If this player is voted out, they will kill the first player who voted against them that round, then get ejected.
- Mallard: Player knows the identity of the Ducks. If a Duck attempts to kill them, player's role will be revealed to them instead. Appears to be a Goose while alive, but will be revealed upon ejection, and will not penalize a Vigilante/Sheriff. Player wins if the Ducks win.
- Linker: Ability causes player to "link" to a nearby player. If the linked player is killed, you will die instead, and learn the identity of their killer. If the linked player is ejected, you will be able to link to another player.
- Examiner: Ability allows them to learn the role of a nearby dead player, and what role killed them. Can only be used twice.
Sniper Duck that can get one assassination kill during a meeting only if they know the role of a goose. If incorrect then they kill themselves.

role idea: Virgin Goose. If the VG is sacrificed out of storage, the sacrifice appeases the gods and resets kill cool down
Poisoner duck who's kills take 5 seconds to kill the target.
wip name 2020 duck has the ability to poison people so the next person there hitbox comes in contact with dies immedeatly
Invisible Goose? - Has a 2 time ability of being invisible for âxâ seconds.
Mother Goose? - Can test 1 random player to see if theyâre a goose. Dodo and Ducks will come up negative obviously.
Father Duck? - Can convert 1 other player into a Duck. Maybe Dodoâs could be immune to this?
Naked Mole Duck? - Can only survive in vents, has a short duration of time it can be on the surface, beyond that countdown of surface time they drop dead.
Because of the issue of people grouping up in games here's a simple role to end that.
Kamakazi Duck - Self destructs taking their own life as well as a set radius with them.
No more grouping making games take forever =w=
Reaper Duck, activates after death, can kill other ghosts, forcing them to wait 10 seconds before respawning at a random location
That is good...but what will happen to the ghost that died twice(1 from the duck and 2 for the reaper)
Doesn't permanently kill teh ghost, just makes them wait a bit before respawning so they can do their tasks
basically it makes ghost tasks take a bit longer to do
the downside i would put in is that they can't call sabotage while dead

In a social deduction game mode, we have to be careful about abilities that can 100 % clear people, or abilities that can allow players to change teams. It can get unbalanced very easily
Very true, I mean majority of the games Iâve played have taken some tweaking of roles to balance out the games for everyone, I could imagine a lot of the roles suggested by everyone here are of the same caliber when it comes to balancing acts.
Maybe once a balance is put in place for ghosts not doing tasks something like what i suggested could be a possibility, but i'm just tossing out ideas. It can get very boring being a ghost duck with nothing much to do lol
For example, a conversion Duck that could turn 1 Goose into a Duck could work well in games of 1 duck vs 8 geese or 2 ducks vs 15 geese but clearly wonât work well with 1 v 5 or 4 v 16. Most players work that out with their lobby settings.
well with that said, one more idea to toss out there, A duck that can change into a ghost for a limited amount of time and pass through walls. They can be seen by and see other ghosts while doing this but not hear ghost chat. Like i said, just spitballing ideas
@calm hare a motivation for Ghosts to finish tasks could be as simple as an option to have the first Ghost to 100% completion may return in the gameâŚ.
I see that as being a bit of an imbalance myself, because they could just report the person who killed them, and especially if it was at the end of the game could just end it there
At the end of the day it all depends on the group you play with
1 group may be toxic and vote out the same person everytime
I would think maybe a coin reward would be a better option myself
Other groups can be super inviting and help beginners I mean itâs all how you play that makes the difference with this game.

You don't get any additional silver for completing tasks, although you can still get the crafting materials
Just suggestion, Investigator goose. Can see footprints of people, like from among us mods. But, maybe you make it toggleable with a cooldown. Like thy can only use it after cooldown and it lasts a gud 10-15 sec for a chase if needed. So they would have to use it when necessary like when a body was found and they wanna chase down that person.
Science duck/goose: can teleport anywhere in the map (Including space but if they do so they die, aswell as a cheevo gained) 2 teleports after every meeting, and if they do teleport into space they get the teleportation kill as a special animation of them accidentally dropping the remote, and teleporting them out into space behind a window, just an idea

i like the idea of the spy goose but what if there was a role that could be duck or goose. like the lover, but it is a 1 or 2 time use ability that after you marked another player. you could activate the ability to swap locations with them on the map. could make for some interesting plays if a goose gets it and swaps right before getting killed, or thinks they are about to, and a duck could possibly use it to set up a double kill if they can coordinate with their ally without being caught.
swapper duck= making all goose swap role with another goose so like lover become vigilante and sheriff and the duck dont swap role
how about a Drunk Goose = the Drunk goose can not see its true role untill a Minute after the Round Starts
so he has a non-drunk role? so really the drunk is kind of a modifier/status effect
An inspector goose: Cannot speak but can inspect someone for their role
basically they can see other people's roles but they can't communicate it meaning that "hey x is being silent" isn't a really valid arguement in the case of an inspector goose
We have an investigator/detective goose in the works.. but his ability is not one that has been mentioned in this channel

We like giving them a run for the money, trying to figure out who their lover is ^^ If they haven't found them by the first meeting, they will see them there anyway.

Dunno of its been mentioned before, but what about an Amnesiac? Kinda like in town of Salem, they can choose a role that a killed/voted out player was. It'd be an interesting twist, but i can see how it could be a problem to gameplay as well.
@robust hedge we're trying to be careful with interactions with ghosts and living players
it requires a lot of fine balancing, and it might be too volatile of a factor to play with, even with the medium
because at the end of the day, in a game of incomplete information, the way ghosts are set up, they can have complete information, which skews things one way or the other
Been putting some thought into how to stop the "button meta" to hit it just to 'reset cooldowns'. The trick is to not make it too punishing that everyone is scared to push the button, but has just the right amount of advantage gain to the ducks that you don't want to hit it frivolously.
What if we had a duck that gained more power everytime a button was pushed. It could be something like they gain a random power.
Chance of:
-Nothing Happening
-Perm 1 second off their kill cooldown for the rest of the game
-Chance to put their first cooldown to 0 after the meeting.
-Giving them a random power from any other enabled duck roles. (even ones that didn't make it into the round but had the chance to be active)
Obviously reporting a body would not give them any advantages.
But imagine gaining the morphling power, cloning someone, using it, killing infront of everyone and then venting right after, all cause someone hit the button 2 or 3 times to "reset the kill cooldown".
@stuck torrent we will be adding roles that make meetings more dangerous for the goose who use it to break cooldowns - possibly even adding a better killer after meeting
or even worse; having a tactician duck that can reset cooldowns
Now that's my brand of evil. 
An idea i have is called the "Duck Spy
it has a longer kill cool down but can place 1 trap and has a radar that allows you to see where people are
and a extra thing you could have is that the radar can sense roles or you have a walky talky that alows you to have a privat com with the other duck
Lawyer: The Lawyer can stop one vote from going through every round (aka if somebody is being voted off they can cancel the vote)
We do have a Spy Duck in the works, but his mechanic works a little differently. He gains information at the meetings, rather than in game
there should be a time master that revers time a couple a seconds and bring back dead people from the grave
Were trying to be careful in considering the strength of abilities that give a connection between the living and the dead. Ghosts can potentially gain complete information, breaking the game if they are brought back
We are definitely considering abilities that are used during meetings. It's a dynamic that's certainly missing from gameplay currently
