Hey does anyone realise Assassin Counters A strategy that breaks the game? while all the other ducks don’t?

and the strategy, is op, making the assassin op, cause he can vent, kill normally and kill in meetings.

Assassin is strong for sure, and changes the meta. It won't take too long for people to learn to be very careful about exposing their role to lots of others. And the power of killing in a meeting is balanced by the Assassin having to be 100% certain or they die instead.

Without it, living players can only talk to each other during meetings, but dead players can talk whenever (dead players can only talk during meetings via text chat). With proximity chat, players can talk to each other when they are near each other outside of meetings. Meetings are unchanged by proximity chat. I believe that's all correct. there's a safety panel on the right side of the map above where the shuttle docks that tells you what the risk of teleporting is. The ducks can sabotage the teleporter and have a random chance of low risk, medium risk, and high risk when teleporting! Ducks can't die from this, the last i heard.

Could you explain what happened with this, like how it got ruined? I don't watch streamers. All I know is that in the update where they buffed Birdwatcher, the live role reveal got removed from public games, and I didn't understand why.

Sniper gets assassin role and uses a stream they are watching to cheat and know roles. So streamer lobbies are no longer wanting to "reveal roles on death" - cause if the streamer dies, then they know everyone's role and can shoot anyone at will --- These are Private lobbies, mostly found in the LFG channels. I put this in general cause its not a bug, its not a feedback, its just an opinion cause people keep ruining fun options cause they feel like stream sniping.

I believe you are doing a good job being mindful. In the last few months of playing the game there are indeed minors playing the game, some don't know any better if we have to be honest but that means you need to be playing with the right people to have a fun time.

But just like anything in life, even if you are being nice there will be some lobbies where people will not like you, so you have to decide which people or lobbies will suit you best.

LFG lobbies personally are the way to go, you need to be somewhat social to play this game

I understand preventing grieving, but it was almost entirely happening in private lobbies, wasn't it? I obviously can't see any statistics or view every game where it was happening, but it sounds like streamers usually play in private lobbies. Allow me to reiterate my question: why was the feature removed from public lobbies when the stream sniping wasn't happening there (I don't even see any way for it to be a problem in public lobbies)?

We don't design the game around streamers, we throw in some features sure (hide room code) but the game is targeted towards the general audience.
Private Lobby - you invite someone into your room, we presume you know this person in some way shape or form.
Public Lobby - we presume you have no idea who these people are. You have the voice option during meetings if you want. Lets say you and I hop into a public lobby together but we're also on a discord call. You're the assassin, I try to get myself killed and reveal everyones role to you in DMs. Game ruined. These people have no idea you and I know each other and can't do anything about it. that is one of the many scenarios.

Rather than spend a lot of time designing around these scenarios, lets just not give you the option to grief where we can

Even in Among Us, I almost never see that happen in videos (and I probably wouldn't notice while playing if two or more randoms knew each other if they weren't obvious about it in the in-game text channels). (responding to Herbert - Gaggle here) I know the removal wouldn't have necessarily had to do with streamers, because then it wouldn't have been removed from public lobbies, but the only example I knew of in which there were problems was one directly related to a streamer session. The person I was first talking to about this said something like "Streamers ruined live role reveal..." and that was the first I'd heard why it was removed, so that's all I had to go off of. Chris - Gaggle's example perfectly outlined the main problem that can occur in public lobbies, and I know the game wouldn't be developed around streamers, but assuming stuff like this happens, then yeah, a streamer's game wouldn't have any influence on this. Thank you for the explanation. Sorry it took this long for me to understand (and sorry for the big wall of text that this message is).

I finally got around to playing this game and I realised there's no freeplay to learn the maps so I was wondering if there were any lobbies that would tolerate a player who has only just started with the game (and by that I mean all I've done is played/read the tutourials)
