For magic they've said there's no 'magic' skill to level up like you would 'hunting'. But there's something magical about Palia. There's also an NPC that seems like an alchemist but there's no word on any player skill revolving around it as of now

The game is not available to play yet and there isn't a set release date. They sometimes do tests where you can be invited to test out the game but they aren't doing those right now either. Just keep an eye on the discord for those updates! 😃

If you compare the statements of "We try to have Palia playable even on fancy potato PC" and "Mobile high priority" I'm sure they get something done in that regard.
Nowadays smartphones(Tablets, apple products, all included) are on the stronger side of gaming hardware. That and they're all fancy handwarmers in winter if you try to play games on them, but they work. ^^
(Personal opinion, I sure hope they'll make the game as accessible as possible.)

Actually all they did was upload the announcement trailer, which isn't uncommon for a game in alpha to announce at that time. They said they expected a couple hundred people to find it, since they're an unknown studio posting their first video. They've not really done any advertising apart from that, everything else is social media doing the hyping for them

Hello, fellow Palia fans. I've had a growing interest of the game ever since their initial trailer was released and more so lately. I just got some questions I'm hoping someone can shed some light on either with facts or your own guesses!

1. The game is listed as an MMO. But its also described to match you with friends and with some sort of social matchmaking (?). Do we know if the world/servers are typical mmo type or more private lobbies like Valheim?

2. There's a vague mention of the world being filled with mysteries for us to uncover. Have there been any hints on the size of the world and the manner of content we can expect outside of the house, crafting, gathering? What sort of things can we expect to do when running around the world?

To your servers question, they have not mentioned any private servers at all at this point. So while there has been mention of that "social matchmaking", it sounds like it is still done in a typical mmo type fashion as opposed to a private server fashion

the biggest concern I could have if its typical mmo fashion. Is no matter how big the world is. It would soon be cramped if all players were in the same world. But I assume there'll be.... some sort of seperation between the thousands of players on the same "server". Otherwise obviously it'd be hard to fit thousands of players houses without it being cluttered.

An article on Gamesradar also said the following :

Thankfully, the studio is being transparent in its application of the F2P system, noting that Palia will monetize cosmetic items when it launches later this year-...

On their website there's no confirmed release date. But is it aimed to release this year?

They've made a lot of comments about the servers, that they'll be using machine learning so it's not servers you select you just click play and you get put with people. And that the world will feel alive but not crowded

I think the entire concept of the game although it has been touched upon in various titles like Valheim, stardew etc. I cant say we've ever had a MMO type game focused on this kind of wholesome content. FOr someone who's played typical MMO's my entire life. im surprisingly more hyped for this game than any other upcoming MMO.

Yeah all the games of this genre are either single-player or co-op. But never MMO. This concept to me feels more like a world than just, a private instance for 2 people

Hard to put into words, love Stardew, but that's my own world, not A world I get to partake in

Amusingly, I talked with some of my friends lately about a concept that I feel most MMOs right now is missing. Which is the exploration. Wildstar had a good grasp of this with exploration classes etc. I am just obsessed with colourful worlds which rewards you for exploring. Something WoW, FFXIV etc doesn't really focus on.

That and the fact that I am/was obsessed with animation type graphics liek Genshin impact. This game captures so much of what I am looking for in a game. Colourful/beautiful graphics with a focus on content that doesn't force your time and tries to unite communities.
