Ie, don't be Cyberpunk 2077. Palia deserves a good launch.

This kinda sucks... we want to see feedback, how is the game and more, not showing the game raises some questions, to be honest my interest in this game faded, it's aprox 1 year from the announcement and we got nothing

the fact that we got nothing in the past year is simply not true. we have a monthly team answers, plus new sneak peaks in the official art channel and there's the game announcememnts as well, where, if you noticed, just got announced that the alpha just ended. The game is still in development with more tests to come soon, and there will surely be more new information to come with it.

Some art works and some answears of selective questions aren't enough.. it will be more easy to see a gameplay and how the game really works, i have no idea what to expect right now. They builded some momentum after the big announcement, but right now it faded in my opinion, reddit is kinda dead also. This is a nonsense, there are games not released with gameplay shown, with alpha played on Twitch and so on.. it's not some FBI/CIA secret mission, is a video game that you want to sale (directly or via cash shop) to others... we should know what product we buy.

I will concede that I have no clue what the core gameplay loop of Palia is (other than just 'exist') but there's still plenty of time to show that and I also might have just missed something somewhere.

Nah, nah. Not what I was saying. I LOVE Cyberpunk2077. The issue was the 'fix it in post' mentality. It released broken, buggy, and for many entirely unplayable. The recent 65gb update fixed all that. But that was 65GB intended to be there at launch that was just missing because the company caved under fan pressure to release early.

I'd rather wait 7 years for a completed Palia than 1 year for something rushed out the door. Plus, the crunch time on that game (CP2077) to get it out must have been murder. I'd like the devs of Palia not to be stressed out trying to reach a release deadline. You know?

I'm still really excited about getting into alpha/beta, but I'm a little concerned about not having energy or health. I know it's not a combat game, and thus no need for those abilities, but shouldn't their be a hunting/gathering cost or potential for character death?
I know many will say I'm going in with the wrong mindset, but I'm curious how a game will feel with no consequences for climbing the highest peaks, carrying the almost impossible load, risking getting mauled so far from town for that rare silver boar?
Again I know I need to get in game for a real sense but I fear the loss of those stats will numb the 'life' feeling of the game. Even games like Portia have some minion/monster gaming that is fun...

I think, at least for now, they want somewhere where people can enjoy what they want without having to look over their shoulder or not wanting to risk something to have fun.

But, Aidan has said that traditional combat will likely be coming at some point so maybe then there will be something for those people that want that extra element of danger 🙂

For example: I wouldn't even consider climbing high if there was a risk to health if you fall. I would always take the safer option ( the reason why my first character in any mmo is a healer - so I can heal while I test the waters )

But, its still a valid area of concern for some people so a good question to ask

But I do hope and look forward to some sort of PvE element in the game. I dislike 99% of PvP, but I don't mind the added animal/creature element. I'm sure it could be an 'opt-in' sort of thing so people are indirectly attacked while harvesting or gathering their latest bugs.
As for risk I know it's not for everyone and I'm not a risk taker in real life, but that little jolt you get form almost falling at times can be very rewarding/awakening to reach that spot.

The Ishgard Restoration actually just organized itself, when you were in the zone it would tell you how many more materials were needed, usually taking a few days with 100-200 people crafting and gathering for each step, and whenever you had enough it would start a 12 or 24 hour timer to let everyone know that the next reconstruction event would start. It would usually just be going around and clicking rock piles to clear debris or moving materials or clicking on the structure to start building it.

But when we were not busy I was literally the "metal man"

I built my own section of the map with signs up everywhere called the forge.

I collected the metal, and smelted it all in my furnaces, then made sure everyone got what they needed. Noone else did my job but me in our little clan

It is still too early to know numbers per server. So far they only have US based servers but do plan on adding more around the world but you are not tied to a particular server. There will be a way to join your friends to play together. They are using machine learning to place you in a server with people you are likely to want to play with. It's an interesting concept. Weather related, I want airships where flying in different weather has different effects. I can't say like the game Worlds Adrift because in that one it was weather walls you had to get through and the result was death if you failed

I know. The mechanic of Worlds Adrift was in order to get to another area you had to pass through a wind wall, storm wall, or sand wall(Being the hardest). The result of failing was loosing your airship and dying as the whole world was basically an endless void of sky. It made people really prepare before tackling the walls. Palia obviously doesn't have anything like that but I really want airships and if weather is involved I'm wondering what they would do with the mechanics as there is no death scenario in the game. Would they just prevent players from flying? Would there be consequences to flying in treacherous weather? Would it be a minigame to keep your ship in the air displaying the skill to fly in dangerous weather?

It could be a random event that makes traversing that area of the map harder by maybe having to pay more attention on your ship, Like how in Sea of thieves you can get into storms and your ship goes all crazy and you have to stay in the wheel all the time to control it
