I know that they have said several times that the requirements will not be high, so that anyone with a non-potato system will be able to play

my old laptop couldn't run Win 11, it told me so, and it was locking up every 10 minutes or so

My current laptop is running Garuda Linux, but it's capable of running most windows software I need it to. No I don't recommend Linux to the regular user.... yet. It'll be interesting to see if I can get it to work on that.

Basically I put Linux in to revive the laptop from a drive fail. Windows didn't want to install because of "different hardware" and I didn't feel like bothering tech support to give me a new key. Plus it seems to run faster with this OS, so it's all good.

If Palia gets released on Steam, I bet the Proton devs would likely get it working for Steam Deck, and in turn it'd run on Linux fine.

Can't find info anywhere about how friendly the world will be. This is gonna be hyperbole but has there been any word will it be "everyone loves you and nothing bad exists" or more down to earth with people having varying disposition to you, life being hard occasionally and some people having flaws like narcissism or having beat up someone? asking here as questions are closed for now

yep, players are gonna be a mixed bag but I was wondring about the npcs and the tone of the world as for at least for me having some flawed /mean characters is needed for proper immersion

I have read all of those, it tells me little and what it tells me worries me but i can understand if devs and testers wont elaborate further. colony sims come in many forms some are "fairy tale in candy land" other are still friendly but like stardew valley with its flawed characters that add to the charm

stardew valley is one of the games that inspired the palia devs .. so it's possible it points more in that direction.

And yes, they like us to have an element of surprise when the game goes live, so even the testers will have surprises when they get in game.

Yes, until they tell us otherwise all gameplay not revealed by the company themselves is under NDA.

We are getting critter reveals and crafting info after the new year with closed alpha sometime in the next 6 months ( but you probably read that last part in one of the official posts )

I suspect we will get even more info released to us as alpha approaches as they release the info they want to give us once it has been nailed into the game

But yes, it is a big waiting game .. either for game play access or info provision 🙂

Personally, I'd like to see a loot-box function much like a piñata. The person who places it gets one guaranteed vanity item of their choice plus 2 randomized, and anyone in the immediate vicinity gets a random vanity item. Make it more communal.

As for the payment structure of Palia, this is something that was not revealed but will be later down the road. While it is currently unknown, the developers did tease that they think that “players will be excited by it."

If it's done that way, I mean, I have no problem with the party ball approach. It's just, this game seems like they're intent is on communal interaction, exploration, and adventure solo or with friends. I think loot-boxes should embody that. You buy it, let others join in the fun. Give them some small resources or like pastries/other food items/vanity equipment/etc. Just have it fun and randomized.

I would like to see combat maybe be a bit more ... unique? And I mean this in the sort of puzzle and leaver sort of way? Maybe? I get the feeling hunting is going to be more like trapping (capture boxes, snares, etc). So I think combat might follow this route to fit the aesthetic they're heading for.

Well in the real world the blacksmith made literally everything that needed to be made of metal... everything. From hinges to nails, to braces. If it was made of metal, it was the blacksmith's job to make it custom as needed from raw ore.

There have been some vague responses from S6 developers saying "less than 3 years" but we should not necessarily hold that to an official date or current state of the development for the game. That being said, Palia has no official release date, the quotes that Wippit and the others have been referencing come from some small comments from [S6]WhoaNonstop, whom we more or less suspect is having fun teasing us. In fact the last time he answered the question "When Palia is coming out" he said "sometime after 1992."

What we can take seriously right now is that it was announced that the Alpha testing phase is planned to launch sometime in "the first half of 2022", so hopefully in the months ahead, we will be able to know when there will be another chance for players to play Palia. The good news of course is that Alpha testing will hopefully be starting sometime in the first half of 2022. So @celest maple in a game called a tale in the desert. I smoked a lot of herbs to find their favor. I helped piibeer every garden reaserch and helped build the aquaductd which are required for certain plant growths.

There was no class that made me like "Plant character." And no particular mastery

I just did a lot of work focused around plants.

It was genuinely one of the longest lasting mmos.

Till they decided to be more competitive and add classes.

And essentially ruined it.
