From an incentives perspective, these systems are oriented around having strong benefits for engaging with them over strong penalties for not.

RP communities can be pretty hit or miss like that. The primary motivations for roleplay are either writing stories or using the activity to crutch/feed an issue the writer is having. Unfortunately, the latter are all over the place, so people often look to them when they think about RP in a general sense.

game companies will always encourage it because it generates good revenue for them, as roleplayers will always be a loyal audience. it doesn't matter how good or bad the gameplay is, they'll always stick around because the gameplay they partake in is emergent.

I will second Havok40k's statement, many role players in MMOs play appropriately. I would also presume that Singularity 6 will have a comprehensive Code-of-Conduct revealed when they get closer to launch.

They will, and some players will be awful and break it, but for anyone who's curious about RP and concerned they're not good enough or that it'll make them weird, just remember it's no different than writing a very small, very unedited book with friends.

That being said, we don't know when exactly the next testing phase (which is Alpha) will begin. Right now they have only confirmed that they are aiming for the first half of 2022. Which can mean any time from January to June.

Yes, Palia has combat low on its interests. With things like community, housing and crafting and gathering the priority. Hunting is the main combat aspect, at least for the moment. Maybe later on down the line they will add some form of combat people are used to, but will be an optional element if and when they do.

I think any combat pvp feels very antithetical to the way palia is being promoted, there are other games to do that in, so many multiplayer and even mmo's with combat. Its be neat and nice to have one with little to none. Devoted to other more cooperative imteractions

It's an older game that's no longer active, but Phantasy Star Universe had Crossplay between PC/PS2, but not between XBOX 360 and PC/PS2. Additionally, inter-region crossplay is not available for PSO2 - that is, the US/EU regional servers are not able to play with the Japanese ones.

Which effectively means the XBOX One servers do not play with the JP PC servers.

PSO2 NA was released for PC as well after a while, and Steam.

These are all crossplay. But not with JP.

I'm really big into VR at the moment, and would definitely make/stream VR content for Palia if it happened, but I feel like games where dressing up and customizing your character like they've talked about is best in 3rd person.

Hello people, i am new to the channel,and thought i might catch with progress of the game...
altough i ve read through the FAQ, i cannot seem to find if Palia is meant as a life skill only game ( animal crossing-ish) or if it will have common mmorpg features like, weapons, dungeons etc.
i ve seen a bow in the teaser trailer but i suppose its for the hunting life skill as i havent seen any sword in there whatsoever

Welcome! I recommend reading #❓│old-team-answers-alpha for more info. Answering your question- No standard PvP in Palia and also combat is mainly done though hunting. So no dungeons or raids WoW style but Dungeons will be a thing. How will this work we don't know yet.

The house I grew up in has a recurring sink hole that forms in the front yard. First time it formed, it was 11 feet across and over 20 feet deep, second time it was 17 feet across and depth wasn't measured, but it took 3 dump trucks to fill. After filling the second time there was a large mound in the middle of the yard, that gradually sank over the years. This year got word from the people who bought the house, the hole is back, this time it is over 27 feet across.

I almost had to move to San Bernardino, which is why I chose to move to Alabama instead. The majority of the people there are drug dealers/users and prostitutes.
