My goal in life is to "Overflow" love, kindness, excitement, friendship, etc. to others. So my screen name is a reminder that in order to overflow those things, I need to be full of them first. And I added plays recently due to the gaming push of where I use my name. So yeah, pretty much I hope that here in this space, my excitement for Palia overflows to others and they get excited about it too

About 20 years ago I played a game called "Yahoo Towers" - competitive Tetris-like game...

At the time there was the idea of "clans"; clans would face off against each other in 1 vs 1s, 2 vs 2s, 4 vs 4s, etc. - similar to guilds in many other games.

The very first clan I joined used the prefix "whoa" and at one point I branched out and made a rival clan breaking tradition on the prefix and going with a suffix of "nonstop". Eventually the idea of the clan kind of died off as the game started to slow down and so I ended up with a username that combined the two in commemoration "whoa_nonstop".

My specific username for each of those clans was "whoa_breakdance" and "breakdance_nonstop", and essentially I nix'ed the breakdance from each of them. 🙂

My character’s name is Guido Reynard

Shrew is a nickname back in high school days. Back then I was in Programming and Web Development shop in a technical vocational school. One of the other students in the shop was working with 3D vectors and made a game made out of blocks. The player models were still looked like Eve from Wall-E. But back to the name. The game was a capture the flag and you had a shovel where you can take away blocks to make walls somewhere else. Well my strategy was always to dig tunnels underneath the map and take the flag and use my tunnel system to return it back thus 'capturing' the flag. The tunnels had false paths which caused environmental kills as enemy players would fall through the map. The other students in shop nicknamed me Shrew for being the best flag capturer. The programmer of the game, which I helped make the maps for. Had to add a flag marker to where the flag was, because no one could follow where the flag was under the ground. I guess in a sense I've been testing code and video games for years.

Well look at cyberpunk. Had loads of hype for almost 10 years since announcing development. That game was a total flop.

It can go two ways.
Build too much hype and when it's released people are disappointed. Take No man's sky for example.

Or You build hype for so long people lose interest all together and sales are a flop.

No man's sky promised features that they didn't deliver on.

Palia has indicated its not releasing for at least another 2-3 years. They've never indicated otherwise, nor have they been making promises about things they can't deliver on. In fact, they've been so careful about what they reveal that they're doing the exact opposite.

So, in my eyes, your point is a bit moot

like for example, if people realize lettuce is the most profitable/useful crop, it becomes highly demanded and the price goes up. But something like corn is less wanted, so it drops in value.
