There is a decent amount that is public knowledge. Aside from the trailer, devs have answered questions and introduced characters etc. A few people have compiled FAQs with public info too

@still herald Just noticed your question in #851872239435644928 . The Pre Alpha was announced a while back in #📢│palia-news ( link to first invite wave announcement here ( #📢│palia-news message ). There was a first wave a week later and a second wave 2 weeks after to finish off the 1400 initially planned for the pre-alpha. At this present time we are not aware of any invites in the immediate future however, the website has been updated recently including the site's FAQ section which has the following Q&A : When are future tests happening? We don’t have a specific timeline for large scale tests, but may be running small scale tests and feedback sessions over the coming months. If you’re signed up, we’ll reach out through email to let you know if you’re selected for a test.
